WLS 6.1 JMS - JCOM

Hi Folks,
I have successfully connected to a JCOMBridge running in a separate
process on another machine from a Visual Foxpro 7 client.
I'm having difficulty accessing my MDB running in the WLS 6.1 server.
When my VFP client accesses the the JCOMBridge, a new instance of my MDB
is created in the JCOM jvm.
I've attempted to run the JCOMBridge within the WLS server. The thought
here is that the bridge running in the same JVM as WLS would have access
to my MDB methods and variables. I registered my JCOMBridge class as a
startup class on my WLS server. And the class starts fine like it
should. However, my object reference moniker on my client does not
access the bridge anymore (using same bridge port JCOM_DCOM_PORT=7050).
Has anyone successfully accessed an MDB from a JCOM client? Would like
to know how to do that.

          You are right, this is odd and incorrect behavior, but I can't imagine
          how it happening. Contact customer support.

          There are a couple of ways. You can configure a "RedeliveryDelay" on
          the destination via the console, this delays redelivery of rolled back
          messages. Or you can commit() the transaction, and resend the message
          to its originating queue using a
          ((weblogic.jms.extensions.WLMessageProducer)producer).setTimeToDeliver(5000);

  • Does WLS 9.0 jms ra support JCA 1.5?

    WLS 9.0 installation incudes jms-xa-adp.rar, jms-notran-adp.rar, jms-local-adp.rar. But all support only JCA 1.0 version if you look at their resource adapter descriptors. The release note says that WLS 9.0 supports JCA 1.5, does not say anything about JMS RA.
    Does WLS 9.0 JMS RAR support JCA 1.5? If so, where can I
    get these rars?

    9.0.4 is not certified with JDK 1.5 and will not be. AS 10.1.3 is the first release that is (as far as I know).

    soa-infra-wls STATE is "Active"This states your installation was successful and you are ready to use it.
    jms/Queue/NotificationSenderQueueConnectionFactoryTry to look into above JMS Resource and locate the JNDI name for the same.. there would be mismatch as per your logs suggest..
    Did you have set workflow notification properties in Oracle EM .If not set them as they are needed during server startup. After that you won't find notification warnings during server start up .

    I tried to set up a JMS message bridge between MQ 9.2 and WLS 9.2 collocated on the same server following the BEA example:

              First of all, your classpath doesn't seem to be correct. You need to add the
              MQ jars in the bridge classpath. (DONT use the server classpath for
              this!!!)
              Secondly, enable debugging in Weblogic, which will give you some
              information: -Dweblogic.Debug.DebugMessagingBridgeStartup=true -Dweblogic.Debug.DebugMessagingBridgeRuntime=true -Dweblogic.Debug.DebugMessagingBridgeRuntimeVerbose=true

  • WLS 5.1 JMS and Message load balancing

    Would I be right in thinking that WLS 5.1 offers no out of the box component that distributes incoming messages over a series of JMS Destinations? (much like a distributed destination would do in WLS 8.1?)
              Is it BEA's recommendation then that any JMS Client sending to these JMS destinations pick's up the responsibility for carrying out load balancing?

              Application dependent.
              For example, you could set up an EJB that enqueues to the local queue - where the local queue's name is inferred from the server the EJB is running on.
              Load balancing (and fail-over) would then be accomplished by invoking the EJB and depending on standard EJB features...

    Although you haven't stated this explicitly, I have a suspicion that you're using MDBs - since you mention the number "16" and MDBs can create 16 JMS sessions by default. See the MDB Tuning Guide:

              I would like to know, whether the WLS TransactionManager can do the
              following,
              1. within a single unit of work using Bean managed transactions eg.
              pseudo code,
              txn.begin();
              for loop = 1 to n
              msg.send();
              txn.commit();
              I cannot get this to work with MQSeries JMS.
              Please can you explain how the TransactionManager works.
              Is the TransactionManager able to support concurrent transactions?
              If not how do you synchronize calls to the TransactionManager.

  • Doubt in WLS 7.0 JMS Cluster Failover

    I configured 2 JMS servers JMS1 and JMS2. I also configured 2 JMS file stores FS1 and FS2. JMS server JMS1 using FS1 and JMS2 using FS2. I also configured 1 distributed queue DQ for the cluster server. I also configured 1 local queue LQ1 in JMS1 and 1 local queue LQ2 in JMS2.
              When the JMS2 server failed, I migrate it to the migratable target JMS1. The file store FS2 and all transaction log files have been copied to the JMS1 server with the same path. I first migrated JTA service and then JMS service. The migration procedure worked and no problem. But the messages in the JMS2 did not get processed by the migratable target JMS1.
              What was wrong in my configuration? In my migration procedure? Or in my file store? Or anything? I knew I should use shared disk storage for file store. I just want to simulate the problem and try cluster failover.

              Either way yes. The migrated JMS server still needs to be able to
              find its store. Another way to do this is to use a JDBC store - as
              long as the remote database is highly available and your
              applications can tolerate the likely JMS performance reduction.

  • JMS Bridge from WLS to OAS not working; automatic redirection to JMS Port

    We have setup a JMS Bridge inbetween Weblogic Server 10.3.0 and Oracle App Server 10.1.3. In our test environment it is working fine. But, in LIVE, we are facing a problem. Firewall is there inbetween OAS and WLS.
    1. OAS Admin port 6003, is blocked by firewall. So, from outside environment we can't connect to this port.
    2. OAS Port 12401 (RMI Port) is not-blocked
    3. OAS Port 12601 (JMS Port) is blocked by firewall
    4. We created credential "JMS_USER" while configuring QueueConnFactory at OAS end and used it while setting up WLS JMS Bridge
    We are using ormi://172.24.255.59:12401/default as Provider URL from Weblogic while creating JMS Bridge.
    Problem
    ========
    While connecting from WLS we are getting the following error from WLS end:
    javax.jms.JMSException: Unable to create a connection to "apgst366/172.24.255.59:12,601" as user "JMS_USER".

  • Can JMS topics and queues be clustered in a WLS 7.0 Cluster?

    We are installing a weblogic 7.0 cluster with 1 admin server and 2 managed
              node servers. Two nodes have been clustered. We are at the point where we
              need to configure JMS. Has any one implemented JMS in WLS 7 clustered
              environment? What are the things to watch out when clustering JMS? Can JMS
              topics and queues be clustered?

              At least in WLS 7, the biggest thing that stands out is the lack of
              automatic failover. Also, Message Paging -- make sure you configure
              paging high/low thresholds. Or, if you don't wish for it to occur but
              can't stop the server (very common these days with SLAs), set that
              byte/message high threshold to a very large number (correct me if I'm
              wrong, but I believe BEA recommends 2^63 -1).

              persisted to SQL Server, during WLS startup the JMS attempts to
              read the JMSStore and JMSState tables in the db, if they are
              already present (say, from a previous run) the driver kicks out:

              If the tables are not present, then WLS creates them and
              everything proceeds fine. Now, its not a good thing to attempt

              thanks for the info, I'll bring this to support.
              I did try the weblogic jDriver for SQL Server and it works fine, so i think it
              must be the way JMS is interacting with the MS driver.
              here are my components:
              WLS 6.1sp1
              Microsoft® SQL Server™ 2000 Driver for JDBC™ is a (Type 4 JDBC) which provides
              partial JDBC 2 support (no blobs, clobs, etc)
              MS SQL Server 2000 (sp2?)

  • Looking up JMS destinations with clustered WLS

              From scanning the postings, it appears that in a clustered WLS environment, the
              JMS servers are not clustered. As a result, the JMS destinations must be unique
              across all of the WLS in the cluster. In addition, there is no failover available
              when a JMS server goes down.
              With that stated, what I want to know is:
              When establishing a JMS connection with a JMS server in a WLS cluster, do I need
              to know the JNDI URL for each specific JMS server that is managing the destination(s)
              I wish to pub/sub?
              Or, is there a 'global' JNDI tree that I can reference and the clustered WLS behind
              the scenes will route me to the appropriate JMS server?
              If resolving the URL is a manual process, I will need to keep track of which destinations
              reside on which JMS servers. This adds an additional maintenance point that I
              would like to avoid if possible.

    One can use Connection Factory to establish connection to particular
              destination (queue/topic). connection factories are clustered. so, one don't
              need to have knowledge of particular WLS.

  • XA 2PC (or no) with WLS JMS + JDBC

              I apolagise that this is a bit of a silly question - its a sanity-check question:
              If I have a container managed transaction in an EJB that wraps some update to the
              database (via JDBC or via entity bean) and also sends a JMS message (but, bia WLS
              JMS), will this result in a 2PC transaction?
