Wls61sp4_upgrade_win.exe -mode=console invokes GUI installer

Hello,
I need in console mode insatallation of wls61sp4_upgrade_win.exe.
When I use:
wls61sp4_upgrade_win.exe -mode=console
it invokes GUI installer.
How to fix it?
Oleg.

Hello Wayne,
I followed all instructions.
Log file option does not work with silent mode.
If I specify log file option, it invokes GUI installer:
wls61sp4_upgrade_win.exe -f C:\software\installer.properties -log=C:\software\installer.log
If I do not specify log file Install Anywhere gives brief message "Installation
completed" but do nothing.
I do remote installation using NetOP and need to see problem.
Locally it works fine.
We have WebLogic 6.1 licences.
Thank you.
Oleg.

You have to follow the documentation, create a template for input, and
show what
you did. Otherwise, it is a guessing game.
If the installer did anything, it should have created a log file. I believe
that
is true even in silent mode, and I think it is called weblogic.log .
I have to
check some recent installations I did. If this were an "official" support
case,
I would check before answering! ;-)

Thank you for answer, Wayne.
I used silent mode as a suitable substitute,
but did NOT get any result.
Installation didn't create any additional directories or files.
How can I see result of installation?
Thank you.
Oleg.

Well, you could try the generic zipped package. I have not done it
yet,
so I
cannot say that this will work. The reason you get GUI Mode is because
console
mode is only for UNIX ->

Voila`!

You could use silent mode as a suitable substitute.

    Hi.
Sorry for the dumb question - but can you confirm that you installed usingthe
windows installation file (.exe) and not one of the unix installation bin
files? From your description it sounds like you tried to install usingthe unix
install file. You should definitely be prompted for installationdirectory and

passwords are also placed in SerializedSystemIni.dat (when you
install), this file needs to be moved from to all the config

  • Javafx for console (non-gui) applications?

    Hi,
I am interested in using the JavaFX scripting language as a general purpose language to create console (non-gui) applications. But even running the following simple program seems to initiate some sort of GUI that quickly appears and disappears. Is there anyway to run a JavaFX script in "console-only" mode?
    function run(args : String[]) {
      println("hello")
    }Thanks.

    Hi,
Yeah, that is pretty much exactly what I did.
I am running on Mac OS X 10.5.6, with Java 1.6.0_07 and JavaFX 1.1.0.
When I execute the program from Terminal, everything works, however a new application appears in the menu bar while the program is executing in the console. For example, if I add a java.lang.Thread.sleep(5000) invocation to the program mentioned earlier, you will see the application in the menu bar for 5 seconds. This is not the way a normal console-based java application typically works... there should be no application in the menu bar.
    Thanks.

I am running Windows 7 and I am trying to uninstall Adobe Flash
Player 10 ActiveX yet I can't find it on the list of Add/Remove
Programs. I have cleaned the registry with CCLEANER application. I
also followed instructions for removing the registry keys of the
    following website
    http://faultbucket.ca/2010/12/adobe-flash-gpo-deploy-error-installax-exe and still nothing.
I am stuck and I don't know how to remove Adobe Flash Player 10
ActiveX from my computer. Can anyone help me Much Appreciated!

We had this same problem recently and the faultbucket link pointed me in the right direction however the registry entries were different for us.
Most of our computers were fine but some had problems with Flash Plugins and some with Activex and some both.
The  best way to fix a computer or set of computers is to first uninstall  all Flash and then note all remaining Flash entries in  HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Installer\Products.
These entries can vary based on what versions got corrupted on your systems.
This  ended up being the fix for us for both Flash Plugin and ActiveX  version. We tested it and had great success as a .reg file and are now  deploying it via GPO.
(We had 4 defunct registry entries for Flash plugin and 3 for Activex)

  • Switced from Full GUI installation to minimal server interface or server core and stucked on black screen with no option

    hi.
i have a virtual machine running Windows Server 2012 R2 Data Center Edition, using Hyper-V technology, as a lab machine to test and practice core features.
I tried to test the ability of switching to Core (and even the Minimal Server Interface after stuck and revert!)
    using Powershell commands as bellow:
    Import-Module ServerManager
    Uninstall-WindowsFeature Server-Gui-Shell -Restart
and it goes well until windows configured removal features and reboots. but
after that the VM will stuck in a black screen.
Tried to reach RUN TASK window to bring up CMD.EXE or any thing but even the ALT+CTRL+DEL (ALT+CTRL+END in VM) is not working and technically i cant do anything. considering CPU USAGE in hyper-V Manager is changing for the VM, i let the VM
work but after 2 hours i just got enough!
any idea why is this happening?
Thanks for helping and spending time on this.
    some info about the situation:

  • Windows 7 will only boot in safe mode after Bootcamp Driver Installation

Help! I recently installed Windows 7 onto my MacBook Pro with OS X 10.6.4. Everything runs smoothly until I restart the machine following the installation of the Bootcamp Drivers. Upon restart, I am told that Windows "was not able to shut down successfully." I can restart in safe mode but cannot seem to fix the problem. I assume it is related to one of the Bootcamp drivers but which one? Has anyone had this problem? Do I need to install the Bootcamp drivers in order to run windows successfully? Thanks so much!

BEFORE you installed anything off OS X DVD, you did have Windows running, right?
So it was crippled but somewhat functional. And it is possible to create a standard user account, a 2nd admin account. Just as one backup, I understand that doesn't really help.
Same with backing up Windows 7 to an external drive, making a system restore image.
And you can copy the Apple drivers to a folder in Windows and use Troubleshoot Compatibility Mode and install individually (they aren't one program or package, they are in
Apple\Drivers\ for one and people using 64-bit have to use that to run Bootcamp64.msi using Compatibility Mode.
When you started and titled "will boot in safe mode" that sounded like you could boot and login.
Using external wired keyboard and mouse is what some people have had to do until they got proper drivers.
    Would be nice if:
Windows had more drivers and Apple would ship a set to be included in Windows 7 SP1; drivers worked! And could be downloaded and installed directly into Windows, and no need for old 3.0 and then 3.1 but go directly to latest (and new Macs do have improved 3.0 drivers, which are on 10.6.4 DVDs).

  • What is the current size of download package for Firefox? I have a dial-up connection and clicking the "latest version" link look s like it gets an exe that only manages the installation, so there's got to be more.

The download starts with Firefox Setup 6.0.2.exe, but I always have trouble with "setup" programs that appear to be manageable size (this one estimates 45 minutes to download), but once run, starts a ten-hour download.
This should be easily available information on the website... what is the total download size if the current Firefox installation package?

That's the size of Firefox Setup 6.0.2.exe, which I started to download but figured there had to be more.
So, you're saying that once that downloads and you run it, there's nothing else to get online? I could run Firefox Setup 6.0.2.exe successfully while not connected to the Internet?

Only time I've seen stuff like this is when a proxy "scans" the downloaded .exe-files during download. Could that be the case in your scenario as well?

I am currently trying to disable read mode by default as a part of the software installation.
I have searched the msi file using the customization wizard but have not found any part of it that refers to this setting.
Is there a reg key or a setting in the MSI I can change to disable this setting?
    Edit:
    This is for Reader X

I have been able to figure out the answer, so I'll put it into here in case anyone else wants to do this.
The following registry key has to be added to the msi or mst
    HKCU > Software > Adobe > Acrobat Reader > 10.0 > AVGeneral
