Woke up this morning and internet said ...boo

I normally connect to my hub via an ethernet cable but this morning for no apparent reason I am no longer able to connect. I switched on AirPort and can connect that way ok. I can still see my hub via ethernet and my printer also, but internet access is only working via wifi....I haven't changed anything, it's not the end of the world (I can still post here etc) but my access has always been faster via ethernet and I don't live well with unexplainable 's.
any help would be most welcome...

What kind of Internet service do you use (DSL, cable, etc.)? Have you tried resetting the modem? Bypassing the hub & plugging directly into the modem?
The problem could just be that the modem needs to be reset, or that something has failed in the chain of Ethernet connections to it.
BTW, network-related questions are best asked in the networking forums, not the installation ones.

    I have a 2nd generation 15GB iPod. As of last night everything was fine. I had used it to play music through iTunes (version 6.0.3) and left it plugged into my computer (which was shut down) overnight. I woke up this morning and went to put some music on through iTunes and it quit itself. I reopened it, and then it said that it could not connect to my iPod and that I should reset it to factory settings using iPod updater.
    Naturally, this message worried me. I safely removed my iPod from my computer and went to look at the iPod. All the music was gone. Under "About" it says I have 0 songs, a 13.9 GB capacity and have 3.0 GB available.
    Is the iPod confused about how much space is being used on it? Is everything really gone? I tried double-clicking the iPod icon when it was on my desktop, but it truly appears empty.
    Any help or insight into this dilemma would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

    If the iPod is still showing used space, then you may have a corrupted hard drive.
    This doesn't mean that the songs are not on your iPod, hence the fact that the iPod reports used space and iTunes may show them.
    You should restore the iPod and then reload the songs from iTunes.

    I woke up this morning and my bookmarks are functioning different, and the tool bar has changed.  Instead of opening the bookmarks in a page on Safari, I get a menu on the side of the page.  Then I have to go click on the bookmark icon again to get rid of the menu.  Has a setting changed or did Apple change it for me and how do I get it BAAAAAAACK????????????

    I have the latest version of firefox and it is running under win 7 pro.
    it was working great since I installed it 3 weeks ago and I use it every day.
    the error reads:

    How did you get at that screen in the first place? Were you installing something questionable on your device recently?
    Have you tried to power off the device this way:
    Press and hold the Volume up button and the Power button until the device powers off (approximately 10 seconds) then release.
    Allow several seconds for the reboot process to complete.
    Have you tried any of the other things found in the troubleshooting section?

    What did you rent it on, a computer's iTunes or an iOS device ? If a computer's iTunes then it should have downloaded into the Movies part of your iTunes library (if you select that then is there a 'rentals' tab on it with that film in it ?) ; if you rented it on an iOS device then it should be in its Videos app.

  • Woke up this morning and iPhone 3GS had reset itself and powered off!!

    So I got up this morning and picked up my iPhone 3GS and discovered that it had powered off. Strange.
    I turned it on and it asked me to plug it into iTunes to reset and restore it!!! What in the &#$#!??!
    The real ****** is that I lost some very important notes that did not get synced before the phone died. Thanks a lot Apple. You have made me look like an _ss.
    There is nothing to indicate why this happened. I did nothing different and had not installed anything.

    So this is what I did
    turn off / re-power up
    Reset all settings
    check emails - no change
    went to one of my email accounts (as I have multiple emails) and turned off the main one of the SMTP server
    it then worked
    No doubt I will be back here again when it fails again
    (as obviously there is something in IOS5 triggering this)

  • Somebody Help!!!!  I woke up this morning and my PowerMAc G4 appears......

    to be dead....let me elaborate.
    I was on the compujter last night, went to bed (leaving the computer on, as i often do)
    and got up this morning and it was powered off. My first thought was there had been a power outage, but there were no other signs of this around the house. So i try to power it up..
    i press the button on the tower and as i depress, it lights up, but as soon as i release it goes off...the light won't stay on, and there is no sign of start up...no fans, no hardrive hmm., nothin. I tried pulling the power cord from behine, just for the heck of it, replugged it in, and tried again and again and again, and nothing...
    Could this be a power supply issue? Or a mother board issue? Can someone pls help...i have a mac authorized repair place near by, but i'd like to minimize expenses just on trouble shooting u know?
    so any ideas from you experienced mac folk out there????

  • Woke up this morning and my ipad2 can no longer send emails

    This morning after working late & sending emails last night, i turned on my ipad to see what replies i had and it was slow in connecting to the server
    I received a few emails and typed a reply, but it would not send
    So I powered down the ipad, thinking that was a reasonable thing to do then started it again
    Same problem !
    So I think, ah is my network working - checked that, and yes it is
    OK, reset network settings - done that and still it wont work
    I had the ame thing a few weeks or so ago and spoke for hours to the apple dudes and in truth they could not help at all - but I turned the SMTP servers on each email on & off and it started up again
    What the heck is happening here and can anyone give me some help to let me emails work again, as this is damned frustrating when the ipad dont want to do a basic email function

    Power adapters do get warm, and if confined, get hot.

  • Woke up this morning and I cannot receive text messages, they send fine and facebook messenger receives them but no texts to my phone number.

    I received a message at 1215am before going to bed, when I woke up, I can no longer receive incoming messages.  I can send them just fine.  Could something have happened overnight to cause this?  How can I fix it?  I reset the phone, I removed the battery and SIM card and turned it back on, neither worked.

  • WOKE UP THIS MORNING AND IPHONE WOULD NOT WORK!

    I was using OS 3.0 very effeciently last night before I went to bed. It is the Beta 5 edition. Picked it up from some developer for $20.00 online. A message told me to hook to Itunes, that is all I could get. So I hooked to Itunes. It tells me I need to upgrade. Clicked on Upgrade and it says you have the latest edition 3.0. I suppose there is some secret about how to get out of the Beta 5 edition and into the final release edition of OS 3.0. Can some bright bulb out there tell me how to do this and make it as simple as possible. Not much of a geek here.

    Why don't you start by re-booting the phone, removing and re-inserting the SIM, etc.
    If that fails to clear it up, get a new SIM from your carrier.
