Won't Disconnect

Hi
I have a Zen Stone Plus Software version .03.0,
I don't know if this has been discussed since new to this forum, But i been having problems for along time now.
I cannot get My Zen Stone plus to disconnect, Everytime i click on the icon to disconnect player i keep getting this message
The player cannot be stopped right now. Try stopping the player again later.
How do i get this to disconnect? most of the time i just have to unplug it from back of my computer which is hooked in the USB Slot or after i turn off computer then take it out.. using Windows XP SP3.
Help and thanks for any replies..

Have you made sure in your preferences that iTunes is set to autosync with your iPod? If it's set to manual, you'll have to drag and drop files downloaded from iTunes. If it's set to autosync, and your iPod is constantly plugged into your computer while you're downloading from iTunes, then the songs won't be added to your iPod until you click on "update iPod" on the file menu. As for the not disconnecting problem, it's quite common. I don't know what you're officially supposed to do, but I find that it's OK just to unpllug the iPod if the iTunes screen isn't showing the iPod in the source menu. The iPod should reset itself, then carry on working fine. If not, you can soft reset it again by holding down the menu and select buttons for 5 seconds.

  • IPod mini won't disconnect

After going through h--- with this ipod and getting it back up and running.....NOW it won't disconnect!! It did disconnect once, because I checked to make sure it was actually working. But, now it keeps saying that it cannot disconnect because some of it's files are being used by another application. I have no idea what this other application could be....any ideas or advice will be greatly (understatement!) appreciated! Thank you!

Easy way. Reset the iPod, then disconnect when you see the Apple logo.
Another way. Hold ctr-alt-del to bring up the Windows Task Manager. Go to the Processes tab and look for iTunesHelper.exe and iPodService.exe. Select them and hit the End Process button. Close the Windows Task Manager Window and try ejecting the iPod via the safely remove hardware method.

If you are still having problems you can try one more thing. Right click on the My Computer icon and select Manage from the list of actions. Go to the Services and Applications item and from there the services item. Double click on the services item to bring up the list of services currently installed on your computer. Look for the iPod Service and double click on it. From the new window select Stop. Now try again to eject using the safely remove hardware option.
McAfee ActiveScan security software also can cause a problem, and if you have this you might want to try turning it off and see if the iPod then ejects correctly.

If all else fails shut down the computer and disconnect the iPod.

  • Won't disconnect after syncing

iPod won't disconnect after sync. Says it's in use by another program. How do I find out what program is using it and why?

A background anti-virus scanner is one possible culprit as are other programs that might scan the drive when it connects such as Google/Windows desktop search tools. You should also make sure all Explorer windows/dialog boxes are closed, e.g a folder view of the iPod or a dialog saying something like. "This disk contains different types of items, what would you like Windows to do...?" Use ALT-Tab to cycle between windows as you may not even spot this one is there... it can open up behind iTunes without any other sign on screen, particularly in Vista. You may even need to quit iTunes before you can eject the disk if it has not closed files properly. Your milage may vary, but I often have to wait up to a minute after closing iTunes for it to announce that it is saving it's library and it may not be until this point that it properly closes all of it's open files.

  • Fax modem won't disconnect

After sending faxes, the modem occassionally won't disconnect the phone line, keeping the line engaged until the computer is restarted. Even the "reset printing system" function doesn't correct this problem.
Has anyone else had this happen with the Mac mini and Panther, and how did you resolve it?
    Thank you!

This is happening on my G4 Powerbook Aluminium) with Tiger. Extremely disappointing, seeing as the last time Apple had any decent faxing software was with ExpressFax that came with the PowerBook Duo Express Modem (circa 1994!!).
It would seem that whenever a fax is sent and the recipient doesn't answer, the modem doesn't hang up. When the modem is forced to hang up (ie by deleting the fax job or resetting the fax queue), it will not allow connections from either the fax queue or internet connect.
The only way I've been able to solve it is with a full, cold restart. Surely this is a bug - and surely it's high time Apple solved the whole faxing mess (cronically bad execution, bad ergonomics and low reliability) for good!

    Hello Herbert
Yes, i use only one client (iphone) for this profile to connect on my vpn. On a later post i wrote, i used this command "crypto ipsec security-association idle-time" and set it for 2 minutes. I thought that this solved the issue i had until yesterday! The same exact thing happend again!! This time i logged off from easy vpn server normaly and when i tried again i saw the same error message on the debug output!
I noticed from the command "show crypto eli" that my router allows 100 ipsec-sessions. So what i did was to log-in log off 100 times to see if that was the problem. Pathetic i know, took me over 10 mins but i wanted to see why? even though i logged off normaly why i couldn't access vpn server. Thankfully this was not the problem.
So far i don't have a clue! This is very frustrating thus i've spent many hours with no solution. Last night when this happend locked me out from my network over 10 hours until i got back home and reload the router (vpn led was off). There's no other way to get over it.
I have many issues with easy vpn client from iphone but this is the most critical for me so far. Now i've issued the command "crypto ipsec security-association idle-time 120 default" and hopefully it does something.
Finally i don't think giving more space would solve this. IPs get somehow stuck and never released no matter address space i give.
    Thanx for your time

  • Keyboard won't disconnect

We have 3 wireless keyboards, 2 iMacs and 2 Macbooks.  I'd like to disconnect one keyboard from the old macbook and use it with the new macbook, however my macbook just keeps saying "No Keyboard Found."  So, I'm unable to disconnect since it's not displaying a keyboard to disconnect.  In testing the iMacs, I see they do the same thing.  They are infact connected because I am typing this right now with one.  Any help would be appreciated.

I also have the same problem.  If you turn off Bluetooth, the virtual keyboard won't come back, especially if you're using Bluetooth speakers as well.  Heck, it even rebooted my iPad when I tried this.
I'm very tempted to dump my iPad + Logitech Keyboard if this doesn't get resolved in a timely manner.

  • My phone won't disconnect a call.

For the last month, my iPhone 4 will not disconnect from a phone call unless I power the phone all the way off.  For the last 6 months or more I've been having trouble with the phone constantly dropping calls, but now it won't let me end a call.  I push end call and it just hangs there and it still ticks away my minutes until I power off the whole phone.  Any ideas?  I tried updating the software, but that didn't help.

    What are you asking?
You've posted in the iPad forum, yet seem to be asking about an iPhone?
What is "mph one call" mentioned in the topic title?
You say the iPhone is disconnected but you still get calls and texts on it? What exactly is it disconnected from? Power? Cell service? Wifi?
iCloud isn't compatible with Shamdung phones, so there's nothing to turn off.

  • My 5th gen. IPOD won't disconnect after I download pictures to it?

I've been able to download pictures to my IPOD. However, the last time I did it I was unable to disconnect my IPOD. I kept getting the Do Not Disconnect on my IPOD, but ITUNES said it was done updating. When I tried to manually eject my IPOD I got a "note" on my screen saying IPOD can not be ejected because files that are on the IPOD are being used in another application. I checked and I didn't have any other applications going. I shut down my computer and was finally able to disconnect my IPOD, but now everytime I connect my IPOD I keep getting the Do Not Disconnect. I don't want to have to shut my computer completly down everytime I update my IPOD. It was working just fine before, so I'm not sure what is going on....

That way you don't need to shut down your computer.
Also, do you have McAfee Virus Scan on your computer? That tends to be the cause of this issue. Try disabling it before you connect your iPod. When you are finished, reenable it.

  • My iPod won't Disconnect automatically.

My iPod used to automatically disconnect after it updated. I transfered a file from my MacBook, which I manually added to my iPod. The manual update to the iPod on the MacBook requires that I manually disconnect the iPod from the MacBook. Fine. On my main Mac, the iPod should sync when connected and disconnect when finished. When I synced the iPod with my main Mac, it no longer disconnects automatically. Any thoughts?

I'm not quite clear on what you were doing, setting the iPod to manual or enabling it for disk use. Anyway, here's what happens in either situation. Setting your iPod to manual update automatically defaults the "enable disk use" option. Changing it back to auto-sync does not remove it, you have to remove it manually. If on the other hand you simply enabled disk use to move a file then that's why your iPod is not automatically disconnecting. While this option is enabled you have to manually disconnect.

  • After iPod  update, my iPod won't disconnect or show up in iTunes

I downloaded the iPod updater. I then restarted my computer, plugged in my iPod nano, and the updater popped up with a thing to click to update it. The whole time, my iPod never showed up in iTunes, but it said do not disconnect on the screen. The updater froze, and now my iPod is updated, but has no songs. I cannot figure out how to sync it to iTunes.

Before you tear out your hair, follow the steps that Casper recommends. It works in minutes. The reformatting will mean you will have to reload your music, but that's better than tearing out your hair for sure. I feel lucky to have stumbled across the following instructions before too many hours went by. GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!
Windows users: If you are not able to restore the iPod, you can try to format it:
    Open Control Panel
Click the "switch to classic view" link, if necessary
    Double click "administrative tools"
    Double click "computer management"
Under "storage" click on "disk management"
    Find your iPod's listing
Right-click on it and click "format"
Select "FAT32" and start the format
After this, your I-TUNES should start up and ask you to register the NANO again, but at LEAST IT RECOGNIZES IT again. WOOOO HOOOO!!!!!!!!!

  • * HELP, WON'T DISCONNECT *

I turned my itunes to Manual, now, itunes says it's done uploading but my ipod still says "do not disconnect" The "enable disk use" button is grey so i can't uncheck it. HELP!

If it is done updating the music just unplug the iPod
and it should be fine... Just don't do it whilst it
    is updating music...
    Chris
No. I wouldn't just disconnect it when it says Do Not Disconnect without checking a few things. That is more of a last resort.
Anyhow, have you ejected it from iTunes?
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=61135
And the reason that you cannot disable the disk use is because you are manually updating. Disk Use is automatically enabled.

  • Database Sessions won't disconnect

    Hello friends,
I'm just wondering if anyone has ever seen programs like SQL Developer and Toad keep openning new sessions over and over without disconnecting them? I have a few developers that will work on sql developer for a few hours and their sessions rise over 100 sessions per developer. They look at various tables and run various queries, but nothing out of the normal. They all drop instantly as soon as they close the application they are working in. Weird I know, but wondering has ever seen this before?
    Thanks
    Luke

What i did to test it out is I openned up toad and the database. I did a session search by my OS user and seen I had one session to the database. I then ran one of the views inside the database and as it was being populated I was refreshing my view of how many sessions I had. Some of the views would add 16 extra sessions and then drop them all off after the view populated itself. Some would add 16 and keep them open. If I ran one of the views that didn't keep them open after I ran one that did keep them open it would clear the ones that were open from the previous view. If I openned two views in a row that didn't clear themselves out I could have over 30+ sessions because of two views. I looked at the views and they aren't rocket science... I can't seem to find a pattern for the views that keep the sessions open and ones that close them after it loads. It's very weird for sure.

  • FTP won't disconnect on idle

Let me start by saying when I initially connect to an FTP
server, I have no problem uploading or downloading files.
However, regardless of what value I place in the "Disconnect
after X Minutes idle" DW never disconnects, but sits there showing
a valid connection after the FTP server has long since dropped the
connection. This becomes a pain when I try to upload another file
and DW has to time out, then try to re-establish a connection
(which usually fails), times out again, then gives me an error msg.
If I manually click the button, I then have to manually cancel the
"background file activity" or wait for another time out. This is
ongoing - I've been trying to manually disconnect every time I
upload a file, but this is a hassle which I shouldn't have to do.
This occurs on all sites and different servers, too.
I'm using DW CS3 on Vista, FWIW. Thanks for your
    consideration of my issue.

When I brought this up with tech support, they said DW does
not automatically disconnect; that if I wanted this behavior I
should add that as a feature request for the program! This is
despite the fact the 'preferences' dialog implies this and the help
    files say it. Sheesh.
