Won't Install: Lion gets to "1 second" to go and then it stalls. (Any suggestions about to get it to finish?)
After several attempts to download (that's not unique, I guess), I managed to get thru the Lion Install process until it had 1 second remaining and then it stopped and went no further. This particular download has slowed my machine so I let it sit for a couple of hours hoping something would happen, but...
Insights? I don't see that others had problems after they got it downloaded.

ellenIn that case, there may be a problem with your Finder preferences or window settings.
Try removing these files, then restarting:
~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.finder.plist
~/Desktop/.DS_Store
Let me know if you're not sure how to do that. -
I have a 17 inch Mac book, after migrate to Lion, I take 25 seconds to shutdown. all progams are closed. any reason??

on shut down a White screen occur with a star flashing during more or less 25 seconds. before update to Lion, 3 or 4 seconds to shutdown. no more app installed or removed. it stills the same usage.

Hi, I am trying upgrade to Snow leopard 10.6.8 from 6.3(trying to install Lion). After downloading the software i m getting a message "can not install on the HD, install 6.5 before proceeding further. I coud not understand. Any suggestions, I appreciate.

Just what it says - install os 10.6.5 before proceeding further. You can either do so through Software Update or use the Combo update from Apple's download site.
You should repair permissions and restart your computer prior to updating and upgrading. -
Ever since I purchased from Appstore, location Hungary, and upgraded to OS X Lion on my MacBook Pro, during downloads and installation of various apps or software, I get prompts part in English and part in Hungarian, which is very irritating, I prefer the prompts to be in one language, that is English. is there any solution?
Go to system preferences/language & text/language and use the Edit button to uncheck the box for Magyar/Hungarian and restart.

I had iLife pre-installed on my aluminium Macbook 2009 with OSX Leopard on it. My hard drive broke but got most of the info off it and just installed snow Leopard on to a new drive and then downloaded and installed Mountain Lion over it. Now I don't have iLife anymore. How do I get it back?

Mac OS X doesn't come with iLife applications, so you have to install them manually after installing Mac OS X.
Insert the Applications disc or Mac OS X Install Disc 2 DVD and install iLfe applications. Then, open > Software Update, and install the latest update. If you want, you can purchase iMovie, GarageBand and iPhoto in the App Store, so you will get the most recent version -
Why is it that when I am trying to install an adobe product, I get 33% of the way through and then it gives me an error "unable to load metafile"?? It happened with Reader and now with Flash player. With the Reader, I was able to find a different installation link using the troubleshooting guide. I cannot find the same with flash player. Please tell me how to install Flash player because there is a website that I cannot even view without it. BTW That is annoying that I cannot even see the website without flash player

I downloaded updates to iphoto and computer erred on install. A report went to Apple.
I cannot open iphoto. I decided to reinstall iphoto from my app disk and now I get an error message"......iphoto may be damaged or incomplete" Any suggestions how to get iphoto going again???

My hard drive died last week, and I needed to install a new one. Previously, I was able to save a .doc with text and inserted photo to .pdf and then to .jpg. Now I can get the .pdf but can't determine what to do to convert to .jpg. Does anyone know ?
Rather than do that, which means starting over from scratch, losing all your edits, organisation and so on, why not simply use iPhoto Library Manager to revert the Library to the older version? Easier, less destructive.

If you really want to start over: you can access the Originals folder simply by going to your Pictures Folder and finding the iPhoto Library there. Right (or Control-) Click on the icon and select 'Show Package Contents'. A finder window will open with the Library exposed. -

While installing XQuatrz-2.7.7, the installation blocks at the "destination" level. It asks how to install this soft, "Install for all users" is shadowed, but frozen: i cannot select anything and move on. Any idea how to get that fixed?

On startup CC tells me to install an update. It downloads to 5% and then brings the message: "installation-program couldn't get access to critical file/folder. Try installing again. Error code 42". Any advice?
