Word Automation Services Changing element in the output Document - Sharepoint 2013

Hi,
We are currently running Sharpoing 2013 with Word Automation Services,
We have documents that we send to WAS for conversion, however the output of those documents have their styling, fonts and currency values changed where display of the currency gets changed to right to left.
The issue started when we had Arabic installed as a proofing language however nowhere in the document did we have Arabic set, we have since removed the language from Word, however it seems that just having the language installed has altered some element
in the document properties that causes WAS to change the document.
Please advise?

What did you mean by “having the language installed has altered some element in the document properties”?
Is there any difference when you view document directly before and after doing conversion?
For this issue, I recommend to do the steps below for narrowing down the issue scope:
Create a new document and upload it to SharePoint to do the conversion, then compare the results.
Test the Word Automation Services in another web application to see how it works.
Check if the Disable embedded fonts is set to Yes. If yes, set it to No and then check the results.

I have been trying to convert List Item attachments from docx to pdf using word automation services, it works in a normal document library but when I use the list attachment it throws a null reference error.

According to your description, my understanding is that when you use word automation service to convert Word to PDF for list item attachment, it throws the null reference error.
I suggest you can create an event receiver and convert the word to memory stream like below:

Convert dotx or docx to pdf with Word Automation Service failed

After search on the internet, I'm looking for a solution to this issue.
I wrote this code for a document conversion in a visual studio 2010 workflow:

Were you able to resolve this? I am coming across the exact same error on a SharePoint 2010 development machine. I don't see any other posts on the web about it. Here is the entry from my ULS logs:

I've actually tried re-installing SharePoint several times on brand new virtual machines. That did not resolve the issue. Strangely enough, the RTM version of SharePoint appears to work just fine. With all other configuration points the
same, I loaded RTM ... ran a Word Automation PowerShell script ... and received the expected PDF output. Then when I apply the SP1 patch ... it stops working and I get error 65543.

SharePoint 2013 - Word Automation Services - Conversion fails ErrorCode 10 - Domain Controller on same (development) server as SharePoint

I have code attached below, running inside SharePoint (in a page), used to convert .docx document to .pdf using Word Automation Services.

What happens is that the conversion fails. errorCode is 10.
What I came to, is that this is related to the Domain Controller being installed on the same machine.
I have examinated and excluded all several other possible issues (memory resources, etc.).
What I had undestood as far, is that the problem is that "the
converter is executed in the context of a very unprivileged local account, and there are no local accounts on DCs"
Is this a KNOWN ISSUE?
Is there a workaround for development enviroment having DC+SQL+VisualStudio+SharePoint on the same machine?

Someone is changing elements with the Dev tools on my computer how do i reverse the changes

i am new to computers you could call me technically retarded sometimes my pages are padded and sometimes they dont work at all this part or that will be missing or i will get a ridiculous redirect i really dont understand it but im reading about it in the forums

Make sure that you do not exceed the maximum size of 1 MB
This isn't done via the developer tools, but more likely by an extension or security software.
You can try these steps in case of issues with web pages:
You can reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.
Hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button
Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
Press "Command + Shift + R" (Mac)
Clear the cache and remove cookies only from websites that cause problems.
"Clear the Cache":
Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > "Use custom settings for history" > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.
Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window

Download and read page 27 on creating and using Styles, which is done largely by example ie you make the text what you want then save it as a Style to be applied wherever you want in the document from the Styles Drawer.

How to find the WBS element in the payment document?...I know in payment doc there will not be any WBS but is there any option where I can find in any of the Tables.
I am in the process of developing a Z report where i need to fetch the payment documents based on WBS. Can any one please help me on this.

Hi Ram,
As you are not giving any input of WBS at the time of payment you cannot fetch this directly. But to know the WBS for the reporting purpose on which WBS the payment has been made, you can develop a Z-Report. The WBS elements of clearing documents against the payment entry can be fetched out.
In this report if there is a single payment against many invoices also possible with different invoice and WBS elements to be displayed on the Z-Report

You cannot make SPO Team Sites anonymous-enabled, therefor they're a moot point for a public website.

Security Groups for the alerts in SharePoint 2013?

By default Microsoft has blocked to add Security Groups for the alerts in SharePoint 2013. It can be enabled but need to change the SharePoint System page setting with the help
of below link:

So my query is if I change the page setting then in future if any SharePoint updates/ hotfixes deploy in system so will it cause a problem??

I would wait as this is not a supported workaround (although it does work).

Issue in Custom Blog site definition based on SharePoint 2010 blog site definition after migrating the sites to SharePoint 2013 and site collection upgrade

I have created a custom blog site definition using SharePoint 2010 blog site definition with Configuration ID 31 in onet.xml (new value). This was working fine for SharePoint 2010.
We created new SharePoint 2013 farm and deployed the all Custom solutions in
14/15 folders. After migrating the sites to SharePoint 2013 using Content DB approach, site created previously using my custom definition are working fine.
But after running site collection upgrade these sites stop working. When I post a comment then comments not getting listed on post detail page. However comments are getting added to Comments List but
PostTitle column of Comment is not getting populated.
Also, when we create a new site in SharePoint 2013 using my custom blog template then that is also not getting provisioned. default.aspx and look-up between post and comment list are not working.
If any one has faced such issue then please share your findings and any solution to fix this.

According to your description, my understanding is that the blog based on custom blog site definition didn’t work correctly after migrating custom blog site definition to SharePoint 2013.
If you customized the Onet.xml file in a previous version's site definition, you should modify some sections in the file to work in the current version, like <BaseTypes> and <ListTemplate> etc. More information, please refer

For that the PostTitle column of Comment is not getting populated, please try to modify the view, then compare the result.

Hi Sriram,
Go to VTFA .Code which is the copying control.
Select your appropriate entry(Sales order and billing document).
Click on item.
Choose the pos./neg. quantity as "+".Now it will allow you partial quantity.

Is it the Word document that you want to make a copy of, or the PDF? In either case, you can choose File > Save As (in the appropriate application), and give the file a new name. For example, if you have a file named "HappyTimes.docx," you could choose File > Save As, and name the file "HappyTimes2.docx." Then, you'll have two Word files, and you can edit one and leave the other intact.

Changing the Site URL - Sharepoint 2013

Hello,
Currently have a site named https://commissioningtoolkit.sharepoint.com but im wanting to change it to
https://toolkits.sharepoint.com. Ive looked on this forum and there are answers stating that Alternative Access Mapping is the way to do it. However, when I go to find this option it is nowhere to be seen
and there are no ways (which i can find) to enable this function.
Any help would be much appreciated

You cannot do this with SharePoint Online. The original Tenant name is used for the hostname within sharepoint.com. Because you do not own the domain (sharepoint.com), you would not be able to set up any sort of DNS record.
The only way to get 'toolkits.sharepoint.com' is to create a new Office 365 tenant named "toolkits".

Changing credentials used in Workflow in SharePoint 2013

I am using an HttpSend activity in my SharePoint workflow developed in Visual Studio 2012. The web service I am accessing in the activity requires authentication. Also, the security policy requires that these credentials change in regular
intervals. What is the best practice for storing the credentials so I don't need to re-associate the workflow every time the web service credentials change. Note: Currently I am using the SharePoint Secure Store where I read the credentials from the store
at the time I associate the workflow with the list. However, this solution requires a re-association of the workflow when credentials change.

How do you use the SharePoint Secure Store during association?
The Secure Store has no client side API.
Possible solution is to create WCF service which will use the Server-side object model and will return the credentials and then you can use the HttpSend and use the WCF service.
