Workbench WebService Invocation: Returning response as CDATA

Hello,

I am trying to invoke a webservice from LiveCycle Workbench. I was able to invoke the service successfully. The service returns an XML-string, so the response is coming as CDATA content.

I am unable to extract the CDATA content from the web-service response: Here is my service response:

<soap:Envelope xmlns:soap="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance">
<soap:Body>
<ns1:getXMLExtractForAClaimResponse xmlns:ns1="http://service.integration.document.eams.edic.com">
<ns1:out>
<EamsClaim>
...................
</EamsClaim></ns1:out>
</ns1:getXMLExtractForAClaimResponse>
</soap:Body>
</soap:Envelope>

I am struck over here. Please help me in resolving this. I created a variable "cdataList" of type List containing objects of type "document", and then I tried to get the webservice response as that list. After invocation of my service, the cdataList element is empty.

Thanks in advance
Sivajee.

Here is the msg... Somehow its not getting the entire data which I posted... Even though I am putting the code, the CDATA element after <ns1:out> is not getting displayed

soap:Envelope xmlns:soap="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance">
<soap:Body>
<ns1:getXMLExtractForAClaimResponse xmlns:ns1="http://service.integration.document.eams.edic.com">
<ns1:out> XML STRING

</ns1:out>
</ns1:getXMLExtractForAClaimResponse>
</soap:Body>
</soap:Envelope>

No dao there in of course!
When I do this i've an error "reference to an unknow entity ... *InternalOrganisation*" (problem is the getChildren method)
Yes it's normal as InternalOrganisation is an interface.
So it's not possible to cretae inteface for entities?
But how to create a webservices that return entities as those entities contains jpa annotations?

• ODI-Webservice Invocation- Namespace missing in BPEL

Hi,
I have installed ODI (10.1.3.4).While trying to invoke a webservice(simple BPEL process) by giving the wsdl url, and giving the inputs and executing it, the request to the webservice(BPEL process) reaches without the namespace spacified but for the root element. Could anyone suggest a solution to this missing namespace during webservice invocation in ODI
Thanks in advance.

• Facing problem for inserting the RFC return response in JDBC

Hi
Can any one share views for resulting my problem,
This is my scenrio(JDBC>RFC>JDBC) logic follows like this:
Design:
1. MT--X(request from JDBC(A))
2. MT--Y(Response to JDBC(A))
3. Defined Outbound Sync MI(Z) and given request as 'X' and response as 'Y'
4. Imported BAPI--B
5. Done MM between X and B-->request mapping(Zmap1)
6. Done MM between B.Response and Y--->response mapping(Zmap2)
7. Defined the IM between Z and B
a. Zmap1 given as request
3. Zmap2 given as response
And according to that i have confgured CCs,SA,RA,RD,ID.
It seems to be working fine..request map posting data properly in BAPI and also getting response as payload only, but it is not updating in JDBC column, which i mapped as response!it seems to be everry thing is ok..but i dint understand why it is not updating the return response in JDBC side?
Note: Here i'm not using BPM, without BPM i made synchronous.
In SxMB_MONI ..i'm getting response as E or S based on rfc return structure.

Hi,
I think there is a mistake in your messaage type to insert into JDBC. The format should be,
<MT>
<statement>
<test action="insert">

</test>
<access>
<row1>  </row1>
<row2>  </row2>
</access>
</statement>
</MT>
Your action is an attribute of <test>.
Likewise in your case, you Message should be something like,
<root>
<statement>
<Invoice action="insert">

nameoftable

<access>
<f1> </f1>
<f2>     </f2>
</access>
</statement>
</root>
Check out these links on the various options avaiable for the JDBC adapetr and how the action attribute can be used,

• Can I releases planned orders in planner workbench using inventory planner responsability (IO)

Can I releases planned orders in planner workbench using inventory planner responsability (IO), in IO manual I found following information :
Planner Workbench
You can use the Planner Workbench in Oracle Advanced Supply Chain Planning to act on recommendations generated by the planning process for a plan. You can implement
planned orders as discrete jobs or purchase requisitions, maintain planned orders, reschedule scheduled receipts, and implement repetitive schedules. You can choose all
suggestions from an MRP plan, or only those that meet a certain criteria. In Oracle Inventory Optimization, Planner Workbench is used to perform tasks such as setting up
item attributes, setting up supply chain BOM, and analyzing time-phased safety stocks.
my question is Oracle Inventory Optimization, Planner Workbench can´t release planned orders.
Thanks in advance
regards James

Hi James,
We cannot release planned orders from IO workbench.
IO is for safety stock planning, not for releasing planned orders. That is done from an ASCP plan which uses the IO plan as demand schedule.

• Dynamic WebService Invocation

Hi All,
i am facing a small issue regarding dynamic invocation of webservice from another webservice....
the probelm is when i tried to invoke a simple webmethod with string return type its working as expected.. and the same method is returning an array of string it started saying cant be able to deserialze the data....
i dont understand the meaning of this exception... can any body aware of this?
Regs,
Veeru

Hello,
When you have this error it is often because the JAX-RPC client does not know how to deserialize a specific XML type. In this case you have probably to use a custom mapping type.
It is quite hard to help you without any "real" information, could you please post the WSDL, the SOAP Response and the error. Also define how you exactly call the WS? JAX-RPC DII?
In the same time, you may know that we have on OTN a forum dedicated to Web Services

• RESTful webservices invocation from OSB.

Can some one please explain the best way to develop the OSB service to invoke the Restful services.
1. Only proxy service is enough to handle the request, no need of business service?
2. when moving the code from one env to other, we use a business service to update endpoint url which is the common approach we generally follow, to make the osb service loosely coupled. how to use the business service when invoking the restservice? does we have the base uri value in the transport url and will get appended with the relative-uri value which we frame as part of the request in the outbound variable in the proxy settings?
3. when invoking the rest service do we need to append all the request message to the url itself or the request can be passed separately as request body and the main rest uri will have only the key fields as part of the relative-uri?
4. If we receive huge request message does the URL support the entire request?
5. how the response/error will be returned when calling the Restful webservice?
I am assuming this appraoch. Can some one please confirm does this approach works with RESTful service invocation from OSB.
Request processing:
Source System request-> Proxy Service -> Transformation to end system specific -> Business service (with base-uri -> http://mainappl.com/web/cmr/{relative-uri from outbound transport}) -> endsystem
Response processing:
endsystem Response/Error -> Business Service -> Proxy Service -> transformation to source system specific -> source system.
Please advice which is the best approach to follow while invoking the RESTful webservices from OSB.
Thanks..

Hi,
Thanks for the update. Can you please explain the above mentioned approach works or how it should be?
I have one requirement, can some one explain the implementation for this:
I have one element which is of type unbound. I need to map this element to a single enelement value by separating each element value with a ;, before that I need to check wheteher this element(s) are present in the request then need to appened all these element values to a single element and the end of this element need to append default values.
Scenario:
<student>

<street>street1</street>
<street>street2</street>
<street>street3</street>
||
||

to be mapped it to:
<student>
<field name="NAME">asd</field>
<field name="ADDRESS">street1;street2;street3;default1;default2;default3</field>
</student>
Here need to check if street names are present in the request xml, if yes ned to assign it to ADDRESS as mentioned above if street names present or not need to append the default values at the end to the ADDRESS field.
Thanks in advance.

• Soap response with cdata

I got one scenario SOAP-2-SAP where I receive a req in format in PI 7.0:
<soapenv:Envelope xmlns:soapenv="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" >
<soapenv:Header/>
<soapenv:Body>
<Req>
<Message>
<ADT_A05>
...data...
</ADT_A05></Message>
<Creator></Creator>
</Req>
</soapenv:Body>
</soapenv:Envelope>
Which I parse correctly, then I give my answer, which should contain a CDATA too, e.g.:
<SOAP:Envelope xmlns:SOAP="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/">
<SOAP:Header/>
<SOAP:Body>
<Res>
<Message><!CDATA[[
...data....
</Message>
</Response>
</SOAP:Body>
</SOAP:Envelope>
Instead, the SOAP channel return this:
<SOAP:Envelope xmlns:SOAP="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/">
<SOAP:Header/>
<SOAP:Body>
<Response>               <Message><ACK>
...data...
/ACK></Message>
</Res>
</SOAP:Body>
</SOAP:Envelope>
But btw, in monitor I can see the resp message, without soap envelope, of course:

<Res>
<Message>
<ACK>
...data...
</ACK>

</Message>
</Res>
Which is correct! Why the soap adapter convert the brackets into ascii code?
thx for help,

- J2EE 1.4 with support for JSR181 JAX-RPC (deploy to OC4J 10.1.3 with Java annotations)
- J2EE 1.4 with support for JSR181MR2 JAX-RPC (deploy to OC4J 11 with Java annotations)
Only if I choose the WebService Assistent for some POJO it offers "Java EE 1.5, with support for JAX-WS Annotations".
Is it planned in the final realease of JDev 11 to have JAX-WS also for PL/SQL WebServices?
Thx a lot for helping

• Difference between HTTP and WebService Invocation in OracleCRM OnDemand

• Web Service Proxy not returning Response in 11g

Hi,
I am facing a difference in the creation of Web Service Proxy in 11g when compared to 10g. I have exposure of creating a Web Service Proxy in 10g and I do observe that the folder name 'runtime' gets generated automatically along with the proxy at the time of creation.
But in 11g, the nature & behavior of Web Service Proxy creation has changed a lot according to my observation. I am facing an issue where the response object is not returning the expected results as per the functionality.
In 10g, we have used a Stub class (automatically created under 'runtime' folder) and we are able to put some logs to see the request and response object in the form of 'xml'. But in 11g, I am facing difficulty in getting the same logged to see the response from OPA.
Please share your thoughts which would definitely help me in resolving this issue.
With Regards,
Thiyagarajan V

Hi,
I have also tried using 'Web Service Data Control' as an alternate method to overcome the above mentioned issue. But I have ended up the error "DCA-29000: Unexpected exception caught: java.lang.NullPointerException,msg=null" and failed to create a data control.
The JDeveloper version which I am using is 11.1.1.5.0. I also came to know that there is a patch (9790388) which has resolved this bug in JDeveloper. I also applied the same patch in my Oracle Home using OPatch utility.
But unfortunatley, the version suitable for this patch is 11.1.1.4.0 and I suspected that could be one of the reason that the problem has not got resolved yet.
Please suggest the patch or any solution which can also help me in resolving this issue. I really appreciate your time and effort in sharing your thoughts for the problems which I have mentioned over here.
Thank you !!!

• Https in Httpservice doesn't return response to the caller.

Hi,
I am accessing my aplication through https and i am using http service to get the data from my application server.
Actually the httpservice request is going to the server and repsonse is writen to the caller. But the response is not returning to the flex end..
I have added the below line in my client end.
response.setHeader("Cache-Control","no-cache"); //HTTP 1.1
response.setHeader("Pragma","no-cache"); //HTTP 1.0
response.setDateHeader("Expires", 0); //prevents caching at the proxy server
and i am accessing the server from the same domain , so i don't need to load security policy file also.
But my flex end is not getting reponse from the Application server .But the same thing is working while accessing from HTTP
Regards,
Thiru

Are you getting an error? Have you added a listener for the error event of the httpservice call? If the reply is sent out of the server, it should get back to flex so either a result or an error should be available.
I use https for all my httpservice calls, so there is nothing 'wrong' with the httpservice using https. All the problems I have had with https have been getting the call to go to the server (didn't like the certificate, wrong domain, etc).
One of the great debugging tools for any httpservice call is to just enter the call url (and any name/value pairs) into the browser address bar, and see if it works there. If it doesn't work in the browser, it won't work in flex, since flex/flash depends on the underlying browser to make/handle the http/https calls to the server.

• Query SAP BW via XMLA Webservice and save response to HD

Hi,
I´m currently working for an QM Project to create an Overview-page with figures from various BW-Querys. Unfortunatly the the BW-Performance isn´t fast enough to execute a lot of Querys in realtime, so I can´t use the Web App Designer.
To improve performance I want to execute those querys once a day and save the result sets on hard disk. To get the data out of the BW I want to use the XMLA-Webservice which is already running.
Is there a simple way or application to send my XMLA to the webservice and save the response on hard disk?

You can use XMLA web service or the queryview web service to get the data in XML format. The queryview XML service is only available from BW 3.5, see attached documentation.
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/d8/3bfc3f8fc2c542e10000000a1550b0/content.htm
Ther is also an How to document available for XMLA under the BW 3.0B section.
If you are looking at a report with no navigation you can use the pre-calculation of the web reports with reporting agent which will create a pre-calculated HTML output on the BW server. Everytime you access the web report the pre-calculated HTML output will be displayed and the performance is great as the data is not accessed at runtime.

• Webservice to proxy - response back to webservice

Hello expert,
I am working on webservice to proxy scenario. When request to create purchase order received by PI thru webservice, PI will do proxy call to create purchase order in ECC and send response back.
We don't want to send ECC response back to Webservice, but we would like to send positive response back as soon as PI recieve the message irrespective of what happens in ECC.
Need some advise.
thanks.

>We don't want to send ECC response back to Webservice, but we would like to send positive response back as soon as PI recieve the message irrespective of what happens in ECC.
One way of doing is after sending request to ecc, you can code in proxy as response in the same interface with single field element like mesg receiveed and map that response to soap response on the sender side. (in this case you dont really process the soap request in ecc directly. you do it at later or convenient time or after sending success transfer message). Basically you handle logic in abap proxy side.
Mapping 1 soap request to proxy request (Per business requirement)
Mapping 2 proxy response (status : messg received ) to soap response
Rest are all same. Basically you do SOAP (sender) to PRoxy (receiver) synchronous mode
If you dont want to pass the soap request message directly to ECC and within that timeframe want to send successful mesg from pI itself then you have to design to store the mesg temporarily. What will happen if your ecc is down? How do you handle that situation.
