Hello,
Can someone tell me how to create workbook in BEx Analyzer?

  • Workbook in BEx Analyzer doesn´t open

    Dear all,
I´ve a problem, because I have a user on the bw and I work with the BEx Analyzer.
When I open a special workbook there comes a white screen and then nothing.
I deleted the user I´ve used and created the user new but still the same problem.
But when I create another user id the problem doesn´t exist.
    What can it be?
Or are special user parameters set in the sap bw? because I have not set any parameter

    the authorizations are ok.
I´ve made a authorization trace with ST01 and that´s not the problem.
A few weeks before the problem doesn´t exist. But after a few weeks I´ve opened the workbook and it doesn´t open.
Is it possible to delete the user but that all things of the user will be deleted like entrys in tables of the customizing where the user is in?

  • BEx Browser35 for GUI720: Workbooks in BEx Analyzer cannot be opened

    Hello,
When trying to open Workbooks using BEx Browser35 the Workbooks do net get opened within BEx Analyzer, the "lInks" seem to be inactive.
The test has been conducted using SAPGUI720 with BEx35_Patch1 and Windows7/Office2010_32bit.
Does anyone know if this problem is related to the new SAPGUI-version being used or is this a known error requriring some manual configuration.
    Kind regards,
    Christoph

    Hi,,
Please read through Note 1435326 and check that all of the prerequisites are met.

  • Open another workbook with a button in Bex Analyzer

    Hi,
is it possible to create a button in a workbook in Bex Analyzer which opens another (specific) workbook in a new window?
Or is there another easy way to open a specific workbook in Bex Analyzer.
    Best regards.

    Hi,
You can configure excel to open each document (e.g. workbook) in a own window, within options (display ->windows on taskbar).
You can also have 2 excel windows logged on to different BW systems (e.g. QA and PRD) bij opening not Bex but Excel for the second session and opening the BW Addin mannuelly via the Extra's -> addin menu...
How to open a specific workbook is beyond my current knowledge..

  • Problem opening BEx Analyzer Workbook (saved in Excel 2007) in Excel 2003!!

    Dear all:
I know there are threads about this issue and numerous support tickets have been provided, but we still can't get any Excel 2007 Query to be opened by Excel 2003.
I have tried to save Excel 2007 BEx Analyzer Query into 97-2003 XLS format. But when we reopened (by both Excel 03 and 07), it prompted the warning messages and broke down the query workbook into several sheets with scrambled data. What am I missing here...? According to the support ticket, it seemed pretty straightforward just by saving the format to 2003 XLS, but in reality it just doesn't work as "advertised"
    Thank you...!!!
    Brian

I have the solution for this.
    It works to my environment.
    Follow the steps :
    1. you must open the xlsx workbook from Bex Analyzer.
    2. Save As workbook locally to your PC for excel 97-2003
(Not "save as" from bex Toolbar but from      excel)
    3. Now save that workbook with Save As->Workbook from Bex Toolbar into your BI database.
Now go to detail properties of your workbook and there you can see the format xls for your workbook.
    Good Luck

  • Poor performance when refreshing BEx Analyzer workbook

We have a BEx Analyzer workbook that consists of about 10 worksheets, each displaying data from a different query. Refreshing the workbook in BEx Analyzer takes a very long time, typically 20 minutes or so. During this refresh process there is very little activity on the BW system itself. Each individual query runs on the web in a few seconds. Aggregates have been built for every query in the workbook.
The workbook's file size has also increased from ~2MB  to 15MB as changes are made to the workbook.
Any suggestions on how to improve workbook performance would be helpful.
    Thanks,
    Jason Kraft

    Hi Jason,
On the file size, I recommend a VBA macro which reformats the sheets for you, particularly getting rid of use of colour as much as possible.
The portal performance and the BEx Analyzer performance may be dependent on different servers. It could be that the BEx Analyzer is using the local machines CPU power. Just monitor CPU usage during idle times, opening of BEx and then refresh of the query data to see the demand.
The portal on the other hand could use an entirely different server which has more CPU power and capacity than the platform that Analyzer is being run on.
Incidentally, 20 minutes wait for a workbook with 10 sheets isn't necessarily a huge waiting time if these queries are returning many rows.

  • BEx Analyzer workbook

    Hello,
I am currently working on creating cost centre reports which should be sent out to cost centre managers on a monthly basis.
For example: The cost centre report for the cost centre named ABC should be sent out to ABCu2019s manager every month.
I created a BEx query and mapped it to a workbook in BEx Analyzer. There are around 300 cost centres and what I did is, created a selection variable for cost centre n the workbook. So the cost centre managers can input their cost centre to see the report.
    My concerns are:
    a) Since I have put a selection variable for cost centre, anyone can view the report. For instance, cost centre report for cost centre XYZ can be viewed by cost centre manager of ABC. How do we restrict the cost centres to their respective cost centre managers?
For example, Cost centre report for Cost centre XYZ can only be viewed by its respective cost manager. No other cost centre managers should see it. How do we do this in Analyzer workbook?
    b) Which is the best way to distribute this report?
We currently use a SharePoint website to share documents. If we upload the workbook to the SharePoint site, my understanding is that the user will have to open the workbook in BEx Analyzer to view the report. The users have to be trained to do it in this case and all of them do not have BEx Analyzer at the moment. So I guess uploading it to the SharePoint site is not a practical idea.
    Please reply with your solutions
    Thanks in advance

    Hello Suriya Gayathri,
Does not seem that you went through the broadcaster bursting functionality.
    In short:
    * You an create a broadcasting setting of type bursting.
    * use a infoobject which consists all 300 users and their mail.
    * use a authorisation variable in the query that relates to their respective costcenter.
    * execute the 'broadcasting setting', it will send a excelfile attached in the mail to these users.
(Of course you need to set a precalculation server which does all the generation of the excelfile)
Have a look in detail about broadcaster and precalculation server.

  • Macro not working in BEx Analyzer

Can you please explain why my Macro is not working?
We're on BI 7 with Excel 2007. I have done the following:
    1) Open Workbook from BEx Analyzer and the result display on the worksheet. The was inserted in C10 and therefore, the result was display from C10 onwards.
    2) I have created a Macro with the following code:
    Sub Macro1()
    ' Macro1 Macro
        Range("C5").Select
        With Selection.Interior
            .Pattern = xlSolid
            .PatternColorIndex = xlAutomatic
            .Color = 65535
            .TintAndShade = 0
            .PatternTintAndShade = 0
        End With
    End Sub
    3) When click to run the Macro manually, I can see the color of C5 is changed.
    4) Now I have include this Marcro in Workbook Setting ->Exits tab, Run Macro on Refresh. Here I enter my Marco name.
    5) In Workbook Setting ->General tab, I also set the Refresh Workbook on Open option.
    6) I have also set the Trust Center setting: select Trust access to the VBA project and Enable all macros.
    7) Then I save the Workbook.
    8) when I re-open the Workbook, the color of C5 is not change!!!
    Can you please help.

    Aglukas,
Thanks again. I understand the name of the Macro can be anything and this is how to create the Macro:
    1) Run workbook, the query result display on the screen.
    2) In Excel 2007, I click on Developer tab ->Macro.
    3) Enter Macro name (Macro1) and click on Create button.
    4) I have VB editor open with following:
    Sub Macro1()
    End Sub
    5) So added the following code to Macro routine in VBA Module:
    Sub Macro1()
    With ThisWorkbook.Sheets("Sheet1")
    Stop
    .Activate
    .Cells(15, 1).Interior.Color = RGB(220, 254, 250)
    End With
    End Sub
    6) I then added the Macro1 to Workbook Setting ->Exit tab, and click on Add Macro button.
When I run/refresh the workbook, I didn't get into debug mode at all!!!
What is wrong in above steps?
    Please advice, thanks.

  • BEx Analyzer with different worksheets

    Hello,
I have query with the following query structure in my BEx query designer
           Characteristics                                             Keyfigures
Project no     Costcenter           Jan Actual   Feb Act   Mar act ...Augplan Decplan
I want to develop a workbook in BEx Analyzer with each key figure on each worksheet so that i will get 24 worksheets for each month for prior year and current year.
Can you please let me know how i can implement this in BEx analyzer in BI 7.0

    Hi Al,
As this is a property of the Analysis Grid, you can turn it on for the analysis grid that you insert your query in on each sheet.

  • Global working Command-Box in Bex Analyzer

    Hallo everybody,
i have the following Problem in creating a Planning book in Bex-Analyzer (Excel):
My Problem is to allow the user to add to every Attribute a comment field in a Bex Analyzer Workbook witch is global available to see. That means that the command field is available for every user which open this Workbook in Bex Analyzer an also can be filled with information.
Have anyone an idea for a result of this Problem?
    Thanks.
    David

    Hi,
when you open the Saved Query/WorkBook from your desktop
System will prompt you for Access Rights (Credentials)
This is because you will have More than One Server in the GUI
    Select the appropreiate Server/System
    and Click ok
Then give the Client ID ,User name & Password
The Query /Bex get opens for you
    Thanks

  • BEx Analyzer 7.0 formatting

    Hi Experts,
I have an issue when creating workbooks in BEx Analyzer 7.0.
Most of the times when I include a query in the workbook (with the Analysis Table) everything is fine with the formatting. But for some queries the formatting in BEx Analyzer does not work, and I get a table without any default formatting. The formatting I am talking about is the default formatting which is achieved by setting the tick mark for "Transfer formatting" in the Analysis Table.
Does anyone know what could be the issue here ?
    Thanks Mikkel

    Hi all,
Found the solution myself. There is a tick mark in the query designer called "Adjust formatting after refresh" which was not set for the queries that did not work.
    Thanks Mikkel

  • Broadcasting in EXCEL export to PDF, Bex Analyzer

    Hi!
The user wants to export the Bex Analyzer Workbook (excel) to PDF... HOW CAN I DO IT???
    Thanks a lot...

    Hi Leticia,
Here's are some things you can do with Broadcaster...
    1.  Broadcast a workbook from BEx Analyzer (must have Precalc Server set up for this).   You cannot Broadcast in .pdf format from an Excel workbook.  There will be no option in Broadcaster for that.
    2.  Broadcast a .pdf from Report Designer where your Excel query needs to be highly formatted.  Create the Enterprise (RD) report first from your query, then you can Broadcast from there.
    3.  Broadcast a .pdf from Query Designer.  Open the query and create a Broadcast Setting from the query itself and select .pdf as the format.  The only difference between this and #2 above is that the .pdf won't be so nicely formatted as the Report Designer version of the query.  However, you don't have to go to the trouble of creating the Enterprise (RD) version of the report using this option.
    4.  Broadcast a .pdf from a Web Template.  You could publish the query to the Web and then create the Broadcast setting from the Web Template and select .pdf as the format.
    5.  Also Broadcast in other formats (i.e. Excel (XML), Portal, etc.) from Query Designer, etc.
The best looking (nicest format) .pdf would be Broadcast from a Report Designer version of the Query.  The nicest Excel version would be from a Workbook within BEx Analyzer (where it would be Broadcast exactly the way it looks in BEx).  But, per my comments above, you have other options.  These of course are not every option but only pertain to your question about Broadcasting as a .pdf.
    Hope this helps!

  • Missing Row Data on BEX Analyzer Report

Hi, been a while since I used BEX Analyzer.  Have a BEX Query  that we added a row of data to and the results show the row populated in Query Designer.  However, when I open up a workbook in BEX analyzer that uses that query, the row still does not show up.  What do I have to do to make the row of data show up?
    Thanks.

    Hi Keith,
I am not sitting in front of system now,but there are three checks which needs to be done. there is one refresh on every opening option also which needs to be selected.
    Thanks and regards

  • Error Message while opening workbook or Query in BEx Analyzer

    Hi all,
Whenever I try to open any workbook or query using Bex Analyzer I get an error message saying "Serious error occured while reading history folder" Message class RSOBJS, number 170. But this doesnt stop me from opening the workbook or the query.
Kindly help me to suppress or eliminate this message. I am not able to find this message in the list of messages available in RSRT either.
    Thanks and Regards
    Mui Kanva

    Hi Mui Kanva,
Does your problem occur in a copied system?
I have same problem in our Quality-BW (copied from productive system). WE are in our QBW not able to activate personalization correct and get the same error messages. I suggest the reason in the fact, that the source-system Myself (QBW) does not work correct. This reason causes that export data sources could not be activated via RFC-Connection.
Please check to activate your source system?
We accept the error messages in our QBW and did not activate the RFC connection.
    Regards
    Andreas
