Workflow Manager 1.0 Refresh with Service Bus 1.1 Error

Hi I have installed and configured Workflow Manager 1.0 Refresh with Service Bus 1.1.
I didn't face any errors while installing or configuring the SB 1.1 and WFM 1.0.
I used the Workflow Configuration Wizard to configure the SB 1.1 and WFM 1.0 instances.
I have some workflows where I have custom code activities that put messages into the topic or pull messages from the topic.
I'm able publish these WFs to the scope as well.
However, when I try to execute these workflows, it throws up the following error:
Could not load file or assembly 'Microsoft.ServiceBus, Version=2.1.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35' or one of its dependencies. The located assembly's manifest definition does not match the assembly reference. (Exception from HRESULT:
0x80131040)
I checked the ServiceBus dll version that is present in the WF Artificats and WFWebroot/Bin folders and find that the versions of this dll in both the folders is: 2.0.40131.0 (the version of the dll in the Service Bus folder is 2.1.30904.0).
How do I get the WFM to load the latest SB 1.1 dll?

What is the account used to install Workflow in Staging and Dev environment
I assume that Workflow in Staging might be installed with different account that can cause issue
Also check ULS log and Event log on Workflow manager server and sharepoint server when workflow does not execute
I assume it is working on DEV so I dont trust DEV environment. Try the same setup on a different machine(Preferred new).
Also check server level permission for the account like if working and non working account can access system drive.
If this helped you resolve your issue, please mark it Answered

  • Workflow Manager - Add-WFHost fails with "Could not load file" error

Hello! I'm not sure that its Sharepoint related topic but..
I'm trying to install Workflow Manager using Powershell. I'm successfully created ServiceBus farm, create namespace, Add-SBhost etc. Also, i created WF Farm using New-WFFarm.
Now i'm got SB Configuration and try to add my first host to WF Farm using standard cmdlets:
    $SBClientConfiguration = Get-SBClientConfiguration -Namespaces 'WorkflowDefaultNamespace'
(it successfuly gives me some endpoint definitions)
    Add-WFHost -WFFarmDBConnectionString $WFFarmDBConStr -RunAsPassword $ServiceAccountPassword -EnableFirewallRules $true -SBClientConfiguration $SBClientConfiguration -CertificateAutoGenerationKey $CertificateAutoGenerationKey
    where
$WFFarmDBConStr is typical connection string, i also used this to Get-WFFarm with no errors.
$ServiceAccountPassword and $CertificateAutoGenerationKey are secure strings.
But trouble appears with SBClientConfiguration, cmdlet returns error:
"Cannot validate argument on parameter 'SBClientConiguration'. Could not load file or assebly 'Microsoft.ServiceBus, Version=1.8.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=<SomeTokenSymbolsHere> or one of its dependencies. The system cannot
    find the file specified."
What file it tries to load? I've installed all WorkflowManager binaries with
webpicmd /Install /Product:WorkflowManagerRefresh key and don't know, what can be cause.

    Hi lehus,
According to your description, my understanding is that you got an error when you configured Workflow Manager using PowerShell.
Please try to use the following PowerShell command, compare the result:
    Add-WFHost -WFFarmDBConnectionString $WFFarmDBConStr -RunAsPassword $ServiceAccountPassword -EnableFirewallRules $true -SBClientConfiguration $SBClientConfiguration
    –EnableHttpPort -CertificateAutoGenerationKey $CertificateAutoGenerationKey
    -Verbose
    Check your process as:
    http://lennytech.wordpress.com/2013/06/02/configuring-workflow-manager-1-0-using-powershell/
In addition, whether you could install and configure Workflow Manager with Workflow Manager Configuration Wizard. Please have a try as:
    http://prabathf.blogspot.com/2013/02/installing-and-configuring-workflow-for.html
    I hope this helps.

  • Webcenter with Service Bus....

    Hi,
I need to integrate external system / third party systems which are providing the data information, exposing through several options like WebServices etc and in future these integration points/systems will be more or may change. And all these systems are not available internally and are distributed systems.
Taking this into Scenario, should I use Oracle Service Bus for connecting, mediating and managing interactions between heterogeneous services?
Or should I use Webcenter services module of Webcenter Suite fusion middleware for Integration.
    Thanks!!

    Hi,
I have not worked with Webcenter Suite but as far as I know there is no similarity between Webcenter Suite and OSB. Webcenter Suite is a portal framework and OSB is a routing solution product. From the info you provided, I would suggest to use OSB.
First of all identify what you need and then choose the product. Please elaborate your use case (specially the front-end part).

Some sort of "general server error" returns a 500 code, but I can't tell from this what the problem(s) might be. Has anyone seen this before?
    Thanks.

Go to the server running Workflow Manager and open the Event Viewer; Applications and Services Logs; Microsoft-Workflow; Operational; and look for the underlying error.  In our case, the CU for Workflow Manager did something to the SQL permissions and
we ended up using the workaraound described here:

  • Oracle Service Bus 10gR3 FTP Error

Hi, I have a problem with an FTP business service which I wonder if anyone else has come across.
It's not rocket science, it simply sends a file via FTP to a destination and sets the filename in the proxy message flow.
The problem I have is that the file already exists in the destination and I want it to be overwritten. This worked perfectly in ALSB3, but upgrading to OSB10gR3 it doesn't work - has anyone come across this?

  • Office 2013 with Service Pack 1 installation error about "search path"

I have an automated installation technique that has worked fine with Office 2010 Pro Plus (32-bit), incorporating the latest Service Pack into the network administrative installation point (under \updates), adding 10 foreign languages to the network administrative
installation point, creating a custom .msp with the OCT (that goes into \updates too), editing the config.xml files, and then running setup.exe from that network administrative installation point. This works on 32-bit Windows XP clients and on 32- and 64-bit
    Windows 7 clients.
For Office 2013 Pro Plus, I have built the network administrative installation point exactly the same way (original DVD files + languages + SP1 updates + config.xml updates), but the installation is failing with every type of client, all with
the same error message. The network administrative installation point is readable by the normal installing account, but I even get the same error when I login as me and initiate setup.exe manually, and I have all rights to this point.
Here's the critical point from a log file:
2014/03/11 11:53:49:691::[2372] DistributionPoint parsed.  The distribution point is now set to: \\archive.ads.college.edu\archive\KBOXalt\Office2013

I cannot find any references to this exact error anywhere on the Internet. Can anyone tell me what this means, and how I fix it?

As automated, the utility that runs setup.exe maps a drive letter to
\\archive.ads.college.edu\archive\KBOXalt using a kboxmap AD account, which has read access to the whole \KBOXalt tree. I used that same kboxmap AD account manually to simulate what the utility does, and hit the same problem. But here's what's
    odd: right next to that
    \\archive.ads.college.edu\archive\KBOXalt\Office2013 directory is an
\\archive.ads.college.edu\archive\KBOXalt\Office2010 directory, both created the same way, and the Office 2010 installation has always worked perfectly using the kboxmap AD account. I don't understand why Office 2013 is only working for an account with
read/write access, where Office 2010 worked fine for an account with only read access. Especially when the Office 2013 resource kit documentation clearly states that the account running the installation should only have read access, nothing more. (All this
KBOX stuff comes from the fact that our deployment environment is a Dell KACE KBOX 1000. However, that plays no part in the problem: ignoring the KBOX 1000, I can manually recreate the problem every time.)

  • Workflow Manager Suspends Workflows - "Invalid JWT token"

    Hi,
I've installed Workflow Manager with the default settings described in this Technet article:
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj193514.aspx. Everything seems to install just fine but when I create a very simple workflow test on an "Announcements" list which simple
creates a Workflow History entry. However, the workflow immediately suspends with the following error which seems to be some kind of an authentication error. I am running the workflow logged on as a site collection administrator which is not 1. farm administrator
or 2. the service ID that I input into the Workflow Manager Configuration Wizard.I also DO have profiles installed, the user running the workflow DOES have a profile and I DO have the App Management service application installed. In addition, I rebooted the
    SharePoint VM after the install
Given that Workflow Manager, Workflow Manager Client 1.0 and Service Bus 1.0 are all running on the same server as Central Administration (since I only have the one SharePoint VM) perhaps the reference to "SAMEORIGIN" in the error means something?
I've installed Workflow Manager with the same instructions on other farms in the past and not had this problem and wondering whether the June 2013 CU has introduced this error. . .
    Please help!

    Hi,
Base on the description, an unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the workflow instance.
I suggest you to use other account to test the workflow. Please make sure you are not using system account. Also please make sure User profile service is running and syncing with active directory. As I've found sometimes workflow tries to read user information
from user profile service and if the user details missing in User Profile service, the workflow might get failed. The original error is "Token Contains Invalid signature" which means either the user is system account or the user doesn't exists in user profile.
There is an article about the error message, you can refer to it:

  • Facing some problem while configuring Workflow Manager 1.0.

    Hi,
I am facing some problem while configuring Workflow Manager 1.0. in my farm.
    Scenario is,
I have installed and configured workflow manager in my farm, it was working well with no issue. But one of team member played with AD and deleted Farm administrator's entry from AD by mistake. So suddenly workflows get affected and stopped working.
Then I added administrator entry in AD, uninstalled the Workflow Manager and installed it again. But now while configuring workflow manager I am facing some issues that "Failure to adding user in BUILTIN\Administrative group. Please add it manually"
And after sometime it shows another error message that, "Starting service Service Bus Massage broken failed: Timed out has expired, the operation has not been completed"
If I go for services then "Service bus Message broker" service is not running properly (Its status is just showing "Starting")  and don't starts.
I have also added the user in BUILTIN\Administrator, IIS_IUSER, WSS_WPG group of the machine from computer manager - user and groups.
Also given permission to databases, and assign role of sysadmin and dbcreator to user
    I also tried following steps
        1) Stop all services associated to workflows
        2) Uninstalled workflow manager
        3) Deleted all databases associated with workflows
        4) Installed workflow manager and tried to configure.
    But showing same error.
If I use another SharePoint server farm to configure workflows, there I am not getting first error of adding user to BUILTIN\Administrator group. but second error remains same.
We having SQL server and Active directory at another machine and FARM at another machine, if I use local admin for configuration of the workflows (as local admin can start any services) but entry of local admin is not Active directory so can not assign SQL's
sysadmin, and dbcreator role to local admin.
I am attaching snapshot of error for better understanding.
Your help will be very precious to me.
    Thanks,
    Rajesh

Check to see what the service accounts are being used for these Workflow Manager 1.0 services:
    Service Bus Message Broker
    Service Bus Gateway
    Workflow Manager Backend
All of these should be running and your workflow service account should be running all of these.  If any are still configured under the old service account, they'll need to be updated.  Next, check to see what service accounts have access to the
    Workflow Manager 1.0 databases:
    SbGatewayDatabase
    SbManagement
    SbMessageContainer
    WFInstanceManagement
    WFManagement
    WFResourceManagement
The Workflow Manager service account should be mapped as the DBO for all of these.  if any are still configured under the old service account, they'll need to be updated.
Given the complete loss of the original workflow service account, and the resultant impact on security configuration throughout the workflow farm, I would recommend performing a re-installation.  Do it thus:
    Launch Workflow Manager Configuration Wizard
Select the Leave Workflow Manager Farm
Stop all workflow services (see above list)
Repeat steps 1-3 for each instance of Workflow Manager 1.0 Server installed.
Delete all Workflow Manager databases (see above list).
    reboot.
    Start new installation.

  • Workflow Manager CU2 Update - One of the custom actions failed. The installation cannot continue. See log for details

    Hi,
I have installed the following on my windows server 2012:
    Sharepoint2013
Workflow Manager 1.0: installed and configured
    Service Bus 1.0
Service Bus 1.0 CU Update 1
I'm now trying to install the CU2 of workflow manager but I'm getting the following error message in the log file:

    Hi,
For a better troubleshooting, I suggest you do as follows:
1.Try to install Service Bus 1.1 before update CU2.
    http://www.wictorwilen.se/issue-when-installing-workflow-manager-1.0-refresh-using-powershell
2.PowerShell 3.0 must be installed on the computer to be updated.
3.Check whether install Workflow Manager Client 1.0 on your computer.
4.Make sure you have administrative credentials on the computer.
If the issue still exists, you can also open a ticket to Microsoft Support to get more specific suggestions according to the actual scenario in your environment:

  • Error 403 when accessing workflow manager page after install

    Hey,
I'm in the process of setting up a new workflow manager farm for my SP2013 environment.
At the moment I'm setting up the stage WFM farm which consists of only one dedicated server (meaning not running on a SP server). My live WFM farm will be made of 3 servers.
I've followed Harbar's guide located here:
http://www.harbar.net/articles/wfm2.aspx, and all was successfull until I tried to access the workflow page on
    https://myserver.domain.com:12290 and got a 403.
I've checked that the Workflow Manager Backend, Windows Fabric Host Service, Service Bus Gateway and Service Bus Broker services are running.
Get-WFFarmStatus is also showing me everything running. In IIS, app pool and site are started.
I've tried ti access https://myserver.domain.com:12290 from the WFM machine, from a SP server and from my own laptop, same issue, I always get a 403.
Would you know how to troubleshoot this?
Thanks in advance and have a nice day

    Hi Fluidetom,
From your description, my understanding is that you got 403 error when you accessed workflow manager site.
Please run IE as an administrator(right-click IE ->run as administrator) on the WFM server, compare the result.
Please run the commands to check the workflow service account:
    $Farm = Get-WFfarm
    $Farm.AdminGroup
Make sure the account has local access to the server.
