Workflow not starting in production

hi all
i am having problem starting workflow in production,same workflow has been tested in development and has been transported accordingly
error that is coming is that workflow cant be activated ,when i check the workflow log ,it tells that there is some unknown error
i checked the linkage of event in workflow because workflow doesn trigger if event is not there but i have checked it ,its there and linkage is activated
please tell what might be the probs ,what i may be missing to start the workflow in production
same workflow is working fine in devleopment

we need more information regarding your query.
is this the only workflow which is not starting in production ?
are you transporting for the first time or you made some changes because of which it is not working ?
what is the workflow ? and what is the error message saying ?

    I am an administrator for a company and I have been asked to create a workflow for them.
    I created 2 workflows using SharePoint designer 2013. The 2010 workflow works as expected.
    I created the 2013 workflow because I can use loops. However the 2013 workflow doesn't automatically start when an item is created. but works if I start it manually. I have checked and made sure that the check box is ticked for the workflow to start automatically.
    The workflows go like this.
    Step: Query Type
     If Current Item:Query_Type equals Phone
      Set Status to Opportunity

    Hi,
    From your description, After you modified the workflow and added "App Step" to it and "Pause" actions apart from few other modifications, you got the issue that
    SharePoint 2013 Workflow not starting when a new item is crated.
    Whether you got the issue Before you modified the workflow.
    I have done a test in my SharePoint 2013 and it works fine.
    I suggest you update SharePoint to the latest CU.

  • Workflow not starting for a customized Application

    Dear All
    It is a simple Applictaion but the Workflow not starting. when we submit the the form after filling up the form the error is showing as Check supervisor error. But the data in the system is showing the Correct supervisor. The Activity ins the Workflow details is showing as Stuck and Error.

    Please post the details of the application release, database version and OS.
    It is a simple Applictaion but the Workflow not starting. What application?

  • Document Library - Workflow not starting on copied Word Document

    HELLO EVERYBODY!
    Right, got a weird issue on a Document Library, where if the Document Library already contains a Word Document with a Title of 'Document 1' and i download the document, make a change and re-upload it. The document uploads as a new separate file but it retains
    the same 'Document 1' title.
    My problem is that for some reason SharePoint isn't seeing this newly uploaded document and therefore it is not running the workflow on it?
    This really confuses me, as it will work with new documents, but it will not work if you download a Word document, change it and re-upload the document as a new version, the workflow will not start.
    Any ideas are welcome.

    According to your description, my understanding is that the workflow which was set to start when an item is created cannot start when uploading a copy of a document existing in the library.
    I tested the same scenario per your post, and the workflow can start automatically.
    As the workflow can start automatically when uploading a new document, it is not the issue with the workflow.
    I recommend to verify the things below:
    Did you upload the copy with a new name as a separate file or as a new version to the existing document to the library?
    Test with a new library and a new document to narrow the issue scope.

  • Workflow not starting in QA

    Hi,
    I have created and tested WF in DEV but after transporting to QA, WF in not starting in QA. I ran SWU_OBUF and WF_BATCH is also available in QA.
    I checked SWETYPV and link is active there.
    I have used SAP_WAPI_CREATE_EVENT for the WF. This FM is also giving success message but WF is not starting.
    I have used 2 versions of workflow in DEV (version 0000 and 0001, with version 0001 as active) and after transport, in QA as version 0000. The WF is same in QA and DEV.
    Please help me with the issue.

    Hi,
    The screenshot shows there is some issue with WF-BATCH user. Please check if it is locked because of incorrect login attempts.
    Check if there are any stucked entries for WF-BATCH user in SM58. Also check if all the mandatory settings of SWU3 are in place.

    This was already discussed. Check in SWEL Tcode whether the Posted Event is getting triggered or not. If not then find out whether this event gets triggered automatically or through Coding. If thru coding check ur code. If thru config check ur config.

  • Sharepoint Designer workflow not starting or listing.

    I have some designer workflows running on my list. One of them is a workflow that runs on
    item creation. Sometimes this workflow is skipped when an item is created in the list. This workflow does not get listed for the item. This happens just once in a while but it affects the application a lot. Sometimes none of the workflows are
    listed for the particular item when i check the workflow settings.
    P.S:- All items created using user accounts only

    if the Item is created using System Account, the workflow will not start automatically. check whether there is any difference between the items created withno workflow and the working ones.

  • Workflow not starting and RFC status is 'User Switch Is Not Possible'

    Hi All,
    I am using ABAP classes to raise an event that triggers the workflow.
    When I am executing the workflow from SWUS or raising event from SWUE or SE24, the workflow is starting fine.
    But when I am raising the event from a Webdynpro application, the same event is raised, but the workflow is not getting triggerred.
    I could see a record in SWEL, but the workitem is not created.
    In SWEL, it is showing the RFC status as 'User Switch Is Not Possible'.
    When I go to SM58, I am able to re-execute the failed transaction and this time the workflow is getting triggered.
    The same workflow is working fine in D env. but not in T env.
    The event linkages are all same and I also used the COMMIT WORK statement after raising the event.
    Another problem is the RFC status is sometimes set to SYSFAIL and sometimes as 'System overloaded, repeat immediately by batch' other than 'User Switch Is Not Possible'.
    Please help.

    Hi,
    call function module AUTHORITY_CHECK_RFC explicitly before a remote call to be able to treat a possible exception. If the authorization exists, the function module does not return an explicit result but, like all successfully executed function modules, sets sy-subrc to 0. If sy-subrc is not equal to zero then it could be the problem with the user authorization.
    I also think it could alos possible because of your Host name check whether any changes are done to host name.

  • SC workflow not started

    I am on SRM6.0 and in my development system SC workflow is not getting started, it shows "awaiting status". When I look into the approval preview, I don't get any process level whereas it works fine in QA and PRD system. I checked the configuration and compared to QA and it looks good. The SC in BBP_PD shows workitem ID, task WS40000014 and status as "started.
    Please let me know how I should start to troubleshoot this issue.

    Ok, I did further analysis and have following observations.
    1. We have process schema (BUS2121_EX01 & 1C_SAPSRM_MIG_101) defined for SC.
    2. The SC is created and in approval preview we don't see any process level determination or error message.
    3. In BBP_PD the SC is having workitem ID with status "in process".
    4. In SWI1 the technical details shows the current process scheme is "bus2121_ex01" and status as "RJTD".
    5. we get dump in ST22 for user WF-BATCH  I.E. Termination occurred in the ABAP program "CL_FOEV_FORMULA===============CP" -  in "EVALUATE".

    What happens when create a simple send email workflow on list and start manually in one of those three sub sites you have issues?

  • Workflow not starting ? am i missing any steps ?

    I have just started learning workflows and i have few questions.
    I want to do the following: if a document status changes to "complete", then i want to print it. I figured that this should be a workflow so this is what i did.
    1-In the organizational plan builder i created an organizational unit.
    2-Linked the organizational unit created in step 1 to object type T024l , this creates an office/laboratory
    3-Created a task, assigned to it an organizational business object and a method and i assigned the office/laboratory created in step 2 to this task.
    the task i created was a standard task, i took not of the 8 digit task id
    Then i went to transaction code SPRO and under cross-application components -> control data - > define document types , i went into the details of a certain document type "KPR" and edited its status, that is, i added a status called completed, and in the workflow part, i added the 8 digit task id that was generated in step three. i save and exit.
    Now i search for a docuemtn, CV04n, i change the status of a document to completed, i save and nothing happens. I am not sure why.
    Possible thing i might not be doing correct <CAN SOMEONE CORRECT ME ABOUT THIS>
    A- When creating the task, i did not create an organizational object, for testing purpose, i used an existing object type called: FORMABSENC with method create, the create method should create an imput screen so i though that when i change the status of a document, if i see an imput screen then everything should be working, but this did not work.
    B- Should i add users to the office/laboratory ?

    step 3 above is sufficient ?
    E- Does anyone know about a good tutorial on how to create object types in the
    BOR ?
    F- How can i know that when i change the document status, the task/workflow is triggered, even if it is not working, how can i know that a task is trying to take place ?
    I know that this is a big list of questions, Any help would highly be apprecieted and point rewarded.

    Sounds like you may not have the infastructure in place. A good place to check (at least to elminate this source of an issue) is SWU3. Check to make sure everything is running for you at the basis level. It's odd that nothing happens when you save, but if these pieces are not in place, it could be a source of the issue.
    Remember that SWU3 creates cleint dependent settings, so you'll need to check each client for this config.

  • AP Invoice Approval workflow not starting

         I have a raised an AP invoice for approval. (APINV) But the approval status is still in “Initiated” status and we could see the Invoice records in “processed” status in AQ$wf_deferred table too. There is data in wf_deferred tables but no data in wf_items table.
         Also in the invoice approval history form, value for ACTION field against an approver is “FUTURE”. All the agent listeners are up and running. No duplicate event_subscriptions. I have used apache bounce and executed “workflow background process” too. Am I missing something?

  • SRM 7.0 Process-controlled Workflow not starting

    I have problems with implementing an own process-controlled workflow. The "Sample BC Set for Process Level Definition" /SAPSRM/C_SC_600_001_SP04 is working fine. However I do not succeed in triggering a customer Process Schema for BUS2121.
    The (first?) problem can be duplicated as following:
    1. BC-Set /SAPSRM/C_SC_600_001_SP04 is activated
    1.1 When creating a shopping card (Web Portal) a approver ("Head of organizational unit" in OrgManagement) is displayed in the Details (Approval-Workitem is created when saving the shopping cart)
    --> OK
    2. Deactivation of Process Schema 3C_SC_600_001 (replace Eval.IDs with customer Eval.ID which contains always false expression)
    --> When creating a shopping card (Web Portal) no approval data is displayed in the Details
    --> OK
    3. Copy Process Schema 3C_SC_600_001 into ZC_SC_600_001; replace customer Eval.ID with original Eval.IDs (Boole; no process schema in expression (Eval-ID 3EV_SC_600_001_100; Expression 3B_SC_600_001_100: "Execute always"))
    --> When creating a shopping card (Web Portal) no approval data is displayed in the Details
    --> NOT OK; the same result as with 1.1 is expected
    Why is 3. not working? Any ideas would be very welcome.

       what do you see in SLG1? .. i think your process level Eval.id result is false, that is the reason workflow is not kicking of 
    1- level approval.. check your process level configure and try to use 0ev000 as a Eval.Id instead your custom Eval.Id and test..

  • Workflow not started on creating confirmation

    Dear Experts,
    We are on a classic scenario using SRM 5.0
    When we create a confirmation in SRM for a PO which was created out of a SRM SC, the workflow finds the requester partner function and works as expected.
    However, when we try to create a confirmation for a PO which was directly created without link to any SC, the workflow cannot find any requester because this one does not exist on the document.
    Is there a way that we can add our requester automatically?
