Working at 80 celsius (172 degrees Farenheit)

Hi! I'm running a program that keep my MB temperature over 80 Celsius and 6000 rpm and keep it all the time (24 hours@day) My question is, it could damage my MB?
Thanks!
Andres N.

i don't know what the limitations are, but i would simply recommend limiting the program's processor allowance. mine shut down when the program was non-stop using 200% processor power for about 3 hours. hope that helps.

    Also, I probably should have added that I am with Vodafone, and I'm currently using the Blackberry Curve 3G (9300) on the version 5 software. I also have no access to the Internet, which is telling me I have no signal. I have full 3G signal, so there is no issue whatsoever with my signal. I don't use the BBM on the phone, so I'm not sure if the issue is affecting that also, but I assume it would.

  • CPU B Termperature as high as 176 Degrees Farenheit, Fan Very Loud

    Watching Temperature Monitor, the CPU B Temperature keeps rising. When it hits 176 degrees Fahrenheit, the computer goes into sleep mode.
    As the temperature goes up - the fan gets incredibly loud.
    Any Suggestions.

    Hi
    The main fan getting louder suggests it and its response to increasing CPU temperature are both OK.
    Have you checked the air inlet (lower front of case), the main fan, the heatsink and fins, and the rear grille for dust buildup?
    Is there any possibility that the heatsink isn't properly seated on the CPU?
    Can you check if both power supply fans are running?
    Best wishes

  • Lowers my temperature by more than 10 degrees?!

    I received my brand new replacement macbook yesterday and while i waited around 5 days for it, i knit a cover for it, kind of like an envelope that lookslike a sweater for my computer- really cute, it's purple with blue stripes. Anyways, i first downloaded coreduotemp to monitor my temperature and just sitting on my kitchen counter the temperature went up to 102 degrees farenheit. I then shut the lid after going on the internet for a little while. I came back a little while later and put the computer on top of the knit macbook pouch i made. The temperature never went over 93 degrees. Last night i had it on my lap in bed- 107 degrees. I have it on my lap with the knitty underneath- 91 degrees!!!!
    Does anyone know why this is, or is the love in every stitch attempting to save my computer from over heating? XD

    The lower temp is probably due to the heat being able to move through the knit cover rather than being trapped against a solid surface. However, 107F is not hot at all for a MacBook and well below the normal operating temps. My MacBook runs around 65-70 celsius (up to 158F) and this normal. Under a load it will get up to 80c before the fan kicks on. Don't worry about the heat you are fine.

  • HP Pavilion Elite E9120F running hot, what fan do I need to buy. It is running at over 90 degrees

    My desktop HP Pavilion E9120F began to run hot, fan was coming on very slow, I cleaned really good, was a bit dusty.. I think this may have caused the problem. It is not running at 90 degrees farenheit. I replaced the video card so I could run video programs thinking that would fix it, didn't. I am wondering do I need to buy a new fan to keep the temp down or is my CPU damaged and can't be fixed? I can still run my programs but CPU gets to 100% and it never gets under 78 degrees. Help I don't know if I should just buy new fans or what?

    If this is your CPU, it's range is 55°C - 71°C.   Here is how to measure a fan

  • DOES IT WORK OR DOES IT NOT WORK? X-FI with VIS

    For crying out loud! Nothing but question after question. Could you people at least CHIME in with a NO or a YES as to whether or not you have the X-FI working with Vista OK Also, what level of functionality do you have and with what driver Come on. It's bad enough Creative won't provide any support but at WE can discuss. I've never seen a more useless forum filled with more questions and NO ANSWERS!:angry:

    mcegoon wrote:
    They mostly work. If you'd bother to read a page or two of threads you'd have a pretty good idea of what all the issues are.
    LOL! Does Creative pay you to make these super NON informati've UN useful personal attack postings ! "Mostly work" WTF does that mean In case you had NOT noticed, the questions I've been asking along with countless others has been pretty SIMPLE.
    A) How do you get the blinkin' X-fi to even work with Vista (I THINK I've finally figured that out. You have to use the BETA drivers from a CLEAN system)
    B) How do you get SPDIF working with AC3Filter Still NO clear answer on that. AC3Filter says it is passing DTS through but my receiver does NOT receive and decode the signal as it always did with on board sound.
    In the meantime, knock it off with the BS posts. They only make you look incredibly ignorant. If you are going to come out and make some feeble attempt at attacking someone then back it up with some real ANSWERS.
    It mostly works means just that. Most, not all features work. Some that do work don't work as well as they did under XP. I'm not going to spoon feed you about which features do work and to what exact degree. You'll have to put that list together yourself. Reading a couple pages of threads will give you a good start.
    If no one answers your questions it means you are the only one having the problem that is on the board today. Maybe tomorrow as well. Seems pretty obvious really. Or the other guy that once had it has moved on by fixing it, or perhaps he decided to just live with it, or maybe he just replaced the card with a functional one. Unless he comes back and tells us we'll never really know.
    Perhaps your off-putting attitude has made anyone else that does know not care enough to help you.

  • Basic RMI program works in windows but not Linux

    Hello,
    I'm trying to learn RMI for a program at work.
    I have the book "Core Java 2 - Volume 2 - Advanced Features". Chapter 5 of this book is about RMI.
    The most basic example program they use works fine in Windows. However, when I try to run this same program under linux it doesn't work.
    For now, I'm not even trying to run a client (in linux)...just the server.
    Here is the server code.
    public class ProductServer
    public static void main(String args[])
    try
    System.out.println
    ("Constructing server implementations...");
    ProductImpl p1
    = new ProductImpl("Blackwell Toaster");
    ProductImpl p2
    = new ProductImpl("ZapXpress Microwave Oven");
    System.out.println
    ("Binding server implementations to registry...");
    Naming.rebind("rmi://172.20.101.1/toaster", p1);
    Naming.rebind("rmi://172.20.101.1/microwave", p2);
    System.out.println
    ("Waiting for invocations from clients...");
    catch(Exception e)
    e.printStackTrace();
    What is very interesting is that this call works
    Naming.rebind("rmi://172.20.101.1/toaster", p1);
    But the very next line
    Naming.rebind("rmi://172.20.101.1/microwave", p2);
    Throws this error ::

    I would very much appreciate the help. Thank You.

    We solved the problem
    Apparently, on the linux machine we had both gcc and the jdk installed
    the regualar compile command hit the jdk
    the rmic command used the gcc version of rmic
    the rmiregistry used the gcc version of rmiregistry
    the regular run command hit the jdk
    using the rmic and rmiregistry in the jdk made everything work fine
    I knew it had to be a stupid answer.

  • Macbook Pro hitting 200+ degrees Fahrenheit?

    I was using iMovie 13 lately editing 720p video and I looked at my temp monitor and it was a scorching 203 degrees farenheit.  My Macbook Pro does this from time to time, but I decided to post about it since it hit over 200 this time.  It usually only goes to 150-160 with the fans set at max setttings when I'm gaming but should iMovie 13 be doing this?  Are these normal temperatures for a Macbook?  Also it idles at around 100-106 degrees with usually nothing running.

    That's a sign that you should fix whatever is causing the issue, not hide it with a third party utility.

    120F is a low temperature, post a link to where WD say that the safe rating is 120F?

    Ok, in here I think you want something like:
    public void convertCelciusToFarenheit(double degree)That way, you can then use the number passed as a parameter (degree) in that method, and do math on it. And you need to fix this:
    >     public static void main( String[] args)In the future, post exactly what errors you are getting.

  • What should power supply temperature be?

    I have major fan issues with my mac pro. It is super loud all my temperature readings seem pretty good ranging from 25-35 degrees, except for power supply. It has temperature of 62 (location 1) and 58 (location 2).
    Is that normal or does that seem high?

    I don't know if there's a 'right' temperature and there are a lot of variables.
    My Mac Pro (less than a year old) is typically always on, and my power supply comes in (currently) at around 113 degrees farenheit (45 celsius), as I kick back and surf the web.  It's quite a few degrees hotter when I'm putting the machine to serious work, converting or rendering video or audio files.
    Depending on the work you're doing, the age of the machine (the older a system is, the more likely dust will have accumulated, causing it to run hotter), the environment (smokers, pets, etc, all contribute to dust accumulation), you could easily see temperatures that high or even higher.
    Dust is probably your machine's worst enemy, those micro-fine particles settle on the components and act as an insulator, over enough time they can cause components to fail.  For a bit of light maintenance, power the machine off, open it up, and use a can of compressed air to blow as much dust out of your system as possible (you may be surprised how much can accumulate in there).
    Hope that info helps!

  • Trouble with import

    Hey, I'm very new to java and all object oriented programming. Could somebody tell me how to make this work, I think I need to get TerminalIO but do not know how or where to put it. Here's my code.
    import TerminalIO.*;
    public class Convert{
         public static void main(String []args){
              KeyboardReader reader = new KeyboardReader();
              double fahrenheit;
              double celsius;
              System.out.println("Enter degrees Farenheit");
              fahrenheit = reader.readDouble();
              celsius = (fahrenheit - 32) * 5 / 9;
              System.out.println("The equivalent in Celsius is " + celsius);
    it says it can't resolve the symbol KeyboardReader when compiled.

    I think I need to get TerminalIO but do not know how or where to put it. Here's my code.TerminalIO is not an standard package so you will need to get it from the tutorial/book/lab etc you are using, once you get it, set your classpath to point to this folder/package.
    it says it can't resolve the symbol KeyboardReader when compiled. because it is part of the package, which it cannot find.

  • High temperature after suspend to RAM with linux-3.9.2-1.

    After the update to linux-3.9.2-1 my laptop works on higher temperature after resuming from suspend to RAM. Works fine with linux 3.8.7-1.
    Normal working temperature is 47~49 degrees Celsius and after resuming it is 59~61. It's not just a false temperature reading. I can actually feel the laptop warmer, and the CPU fun spins up.
    I can't see any CPU high load. I tend to believe that the temperature rise has to do with the Intel GPU driver (i915). My CPU has an integrated GPU.
    Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-2350M CPU @ 2.30GHz
    VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation 2nd Generation Core Processor Family Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 09)
    cmdline:
    i915.semaphores=1 i915.i915_enable_rc6=1 i915.i915_enable_fbc=1 i915.lvds_downclock=1 aspm_force=true acpi_backlight=vendor intel_pstate=disable
    Anyone noticed something similar?
    Ways to debug it? Apart from kernel GIT bisect.

    I got the impression myself, that all the i915 downclock tweaks have been getting counterproductive over time as the driver got better.
    Be sure to give the new pstate another go. I had problems too with the upgrade to 3.9.x and the powersave governor. Enabling "performance" in cpupower only and letting intel_pstate manage the idling on its own had an awesome effect. I only have rc6=1 and "sna" accel along with it on a similar cpu. Resuming with fan off.
