WorkManager created at startup

Hi all,
I have a question about WorkMananager creation at server startup. I configured a simple WebLogic 9.2 MP3 domain with one Admin and one Managed server. Later I created a Global Workmanager called "SimpleWorkManager" with two Thread Constraints (min and max). I targeted this work manager ONLY to Managed server, but when start Admin server I found in Admin log:
<18-nov-2008 19.12.05 CET> <Info> <WorkManager> <BEA-002903> <Creating WorkManager from "SimpleWorkManager" WorkManagerMBean for application "bea_wls_deployment_internal">
<18-nov-2008 19.12.05 CET> <Info> <WorkManager> <BEA-002903> <Creating WorkManager from "SimpleWorkManager" WorkManagerMBean for application "bea_wls_diagnostics">
<18-nov-2008 19.12.05 CET> <Info> <WorkManager> <BEA-002903> <Creating WorkManager from "SimpleWorkManager" WorkManagerMBean for application "bea_wls_management_internal2">
<18-nov-2008 19.12.05 CET> <Info> <WorkManager> <BEA-002903> <Creating WorkManager from "SimpleWorkManager" WorkManagerMBean for application "bea_wls_remote_deployer">
It seems that "SimpleWorkManager" also works in Administration server even if it is not in TARGET on this Server.
Why this happens?
Regards.

Hi,
Can you pl paste the workmanager stanza from the config.xml?

  • I tried creating a startup backup via Disk Utility.  There wasn't enough space and now I have no internal disk space. How do I fix this?

I used DIsk Utility to create a startup backup clone for the first time yesterday.  I cloned it to my internal drive on my Mac.  I let it run all night and when I woke up this morning it showed it as failed (not enough disk space).  Now when I boot up my Mac, it showed a warning at the login screen (not enough disk space at startup).  I do not have an external hard drive (which is why I chose to backup internally).  Do I need to purchase one?
It still allows me to log in.  When I open Finder and look at my internal drive, it shows less than 100.00 MB space available.  I tried deleting a bunch of old files and stripped needless apps.  However, it keeps showing my computer as having less than 100 MB of storage.
Is there a way to find the failed clone backup and delete it?  I tried looking in Spotlight for the backup clone (I named it 4-21-14.dmg).  I cannot find the file.  I was hoping to backup my files so I can install OS Mavericks on my computer (mid-2010 Macbook Pro), but I do not have enough free space.

I solved the problem by deleting over 100 gb of files and apps.  I would have rather not gone that route, but having less than 100 MB of storage is an unacceptable headache to deal with.  Now I have to decide on whether to try again with the backup internally route or risk it and download/install Mavericks.

  • Create a startup disk on a thumb drive

Trying to create a startup disk on a thumb drive to diagnose my wife's hard drive which I think is failing (another problem I won't go into here). We are on the road and the only thumb drive I have is 4 gb. But when I try to create a startup disk for it using the Mac OS X operating CD, it says it's not big enough. But I'm guessing it wants to install all of OS X and I just want to install the essential files necessary for a startup disk which I'm assuming would easily fit on my thumb drive.
Is this doable? If so how? Or is there a way to do this using Disk Utility? I tried that, but couldn't figure out how. Also, we have an iPod that has plenty of space, but from what I can tell, I would have to erase it and we can't do that.
Bottom line: is there any way we can create a startup drive from an iPod that we don't want to erase or a 4gb thumb drive? thanks.

    Jolly Giant -
Thanks for the links. Unfortunately, neither seem to solve my issue assuming I'm looking at it right.
I ran across the first link previously and gave it a try. In step 9 it says to select the volume (the USB Drive) and continue the OS X installation. Unfortunately, when I select the USB thumb drive volume, it says it can't install because the volume (USB thumb drive) is not big enough. Mine is 4gb. That's my real issue. I need to install just the OS X files that are necessary to boot a Mac from a USB drive, but all the instructions I've run across apparently are designed to only install a full version of OS X and my 4 gb drive is too small for that.
Your second link, which is also a link from the first link, apparently explains how to do this installation on a smaller thumb drive like mine. But when I click on the link, it comes up as a dead link for me.

The following line tells me that this is not a template file, but a document created from a template called index.dwt
    <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"><!-- InstanceBegin template="/Templates/index.dwt" codeOutsideHTMLIsLocked="false" -->
This means that you saved a child document as a template file at some stage.
If you go to Modify->Templates->Detach from Template, you can remove the template structure from your document. All you then need to do is to re-save the document as a template.

  • How do I create a startup procedure in Veristand?

I want to create a procedure on first execution of the workspace. I also need procedures without alarms. How do I do this in Veristand?
    JY
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

You can create a startup procedure set to run when the VeriStand Engine first starts up. To do this, simply create a procedure in System Explorer, then go to the main Procedures page and check the box called On Startup. Then simply select the procedure you want to run at startup.
This is slightly different than a procedure that runs when the Workspace opens. For instance, when running a PC Engine configuration, the Workspace might not open up until maybe 10 seconds after the PC Engine has started running, due to the time it takes to connect to and synchronize with the PC Engine from the Workspace. Also, for an RT configuration, when the Workspace runs it doesn't necessarily mean the engine just started up. The VeriStand Engine might have been running for hours or days beforehand if you don't redeploy. Do you want the procedure to run when the engine starts up or every time the Workspace connects?
If you really want a procedure to run when the Workspace connects, one good way to do it would be to create an alarm for the System Channel called Host IP. This channel's value represents the IP Address of the connected host computer. It is zero when no host is connected. Therefore, you can create an alarm to trigger your procedure whenever this channel transitions from zero to a non-zero value. You can use a dummy User Channel to cache the previous value of the host IP so that you only fire the procedure when it changes.
Last point: You said you want to trigger a procedure without creating an alarm. Can you describe your use case a little more? Is there any reason you specifically don't want to use an alarm for this?

  • Can I create a startup CD from my Tiger install disks?

I just found my Tiger install disks. I have upgraded to Leopard but there are some programs I have that only run under Tiger. I had been booting into Tiger from my external LaCie firewire drive, but that doesn't work any more.
Is there any way I can create a startup CD from the Tiger install CDs without actually installing Tiger on my hard disk (i.e. over top of Leopard!).

He is talking about making a Live CD/DVD.. You know, where you boot up and run the OS right from the DVD/CD.
    From the CloneX documentation-
    Bootable DVD
This function provides an easy way to build a customized bootable Mac OS X DVD that includes one or more applications. Such DVDs are generally dedicated to utilities that repair disks, partition disks, backup data, or recover data. Such DVDs can be usefull when it is necessary to restart from another disk to run operations on the main hard disk. The DVD is related to the hardware it is created on, so it’s compatibility may vary depending on the machine used. For example, a DVD created on a PPC machine will not boot an Intel Mac. Contrary to previous version of Clone X, the System includes more libraries and frameworks to try to be the most compatible possible with applications. The drawback is that data will not fit on a CD-ROM anymore. You must use DVD. The System on the DVD is a limited one, and there is no Finder available on DVDs created by Clone X. But Clone X installs a special launcher, CXLauncher, to run any of the applications copied in the DVD.
    Creating the DVD
First, you can choose the size of the DVD you want to create.
Click the “Create a bootable DVD” button. Depending on preferences, Clone X may ask for a folder where the disk image used to create the DVD will be saved. Then, Clone X will create a disk image and copy necessary files to this disk image. When done, Clone X will display a list of the applications installed in your Applications folder and subfolders.
Select any application you desire, and click the arrow button to move it to the list on the right side of the window. Clone X displays the available free space on the DVD, so that you can select the applications you can add.
To remove one application from the DVD, select it in the right list and click the right arrow button.
When you have chosen all applications you need, click “Finish Install” button. Clone X will copy applications, and ask you if you want to burn the DVD.

  • Need Help Creating a Startup Script

I'm using a WebApp called OpenTaps/OFBiz on my built-in server, and to use it I must use the Terminal App to get it started each time I restart.
I'm looking for a way to have it start automaticallly each time I restart.
Here's the commands I use in the Terminal to do so:
    $ cd /Library/Webserver/Documents/opentaps
    $ export JAVA_HOME=/System/Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.framework/Versions/1.4.2/Home
    $ ./startofbiz.sh
    $ tail -f logs/console.log
Could someone tell me what to wrap around this code to load it at startup, or perform these functions some other way automatically?
I posted here because I don't know if Automator can do this for me or if there's a more elegant technique.
    thanks

  • Creating custom startup file

Where is the existing default startup file in Illustrator CS5 located? I'm assuming once I find that, I can replace it with a custom file of my own so I can eliminate the preloaded swatches, etc. that get in my way?

There is no single default startup file; there are several. There are different startup files for different selections when you create a new document. Eash is a standard Illustrator file with different page size, colour mode, and palette items (swatches, symbols, etc.).
The location of the files depends on your OS. On the Macintosh they are in Users/[your user name]/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Adobe Illustrator CS5/en_US/New Document Profiles/

  • Create Lion startup on Sandisk Cruzer?

I'd like to create a Lion startup disk on an 8GB Sandisk Cruzer USB flash drive for the sole purpose of running Disk Warrior on my main startup drive without having to boot from the DW DVD (which is painfully slow).
    Suggestions?
I have re-partitioned the Cruzer with one (1) GUID partition, and Disk Utility indicates it has a capacity of 7.14GB, with 7.63GB available (yes, that's not a typo), and that the GUID partition is only 7.14GB. I am wondering why the single partition can't use more of the flash drive.
I created an installation of Lion on a 80GB USB drive, then added Disk Warrior, but because of the smaller partition, I have been unable to use DU to "Restore" from the "utility system" to the flash drive.
    Ideas?

I have three of those little flash drives, all SandDisk Cruzers. I simply connected them, opened Disk Utility, and immediately formatted them. I did not bother to check if there was anything on the drive since I was not interested in it. I then used the instructions to create a bootable Lion install on one and the recovery assistant on the second (the third is brand new and I just formatted it - see screenshots below). There were/are no Sandisk folders on my hard drive, nor did I have a problem formatting them or using the restore function.
    For the OP:
    Initial screenshot:
    After formatting:
(the disk1s1 is greyed out - not mounted - contains several MB of files and is named EFI, so that is the firmware. This results in the "regular" disk to only have 7.63 GB available).

  • Powerbook 12 inch won't boot and I need to create a startup CD/DVD

My son's PB 12" won't boot up. We are on vacation and I have my 13 macbook with me, but none of the support disks.. I am wondering if there is a way to create a boot CD/DVD from mine to use with his, to hopefully get his computer working again. Any help would be great!

Hi, Ross. No, there isn't. The OS that runs your Intel-based MacBook won't run at all on the PPC-based Powerbook.
Hold down the Command and S keys on the Powerbook while turning it on, and use fsck in Single-User Mode to attempt file system repairs, as described in this article.

  • Create a startup disk

I have a MacBook Pro 13 inch purchased in 2010. Currently I am running Yosemite on it.  I want to sell it so I need to wipe and reformat the drive.  I have backed my data already.  I moved 3 times since the original purchase and I have no idea where the original disks are.  Do I have to reformat with the original OS (and I have no idea what it was) or is there some way that I can make a start-up disk with Yosemite and use that to reformat?
    Any help is appreciated.

You need to use the computer’s original disks or a retail disk newer than that Mac. Anything which you might make from the Yosemite system is tied to your Apple ID.

  • Unable to create connection pool on weblogic startup

Hi, I have a problem currently with the connection pool of weblogic 8.1 not being able to be created on a scheduled restart daily.
The weblogic server is restarted daily at 6am. However, the oracle database is shut down for maintenance daily till 7am before it is up again. It is not possible to shift either timings of restarting weblogic and oracle.
Is there any script or option settings in weblogic to reconnect the connection pool after 7am daily without restarting the weblogic instance?
    Please help. Thanks.

Please help. Thanks. You can use the weblogic.Admin command line program to create, destroy, disable, or enable pools
in a running server. However, the easiest thing to do is to define your pool to have an initial
capacity of zero, so it is allowed to be created at startup, without needing to make any connections.
Then it will self-populate as needed when application load starts, if/when the DBMS is available.

  • Creating Startup Disk on External HD

I will be getting an external HD for use with my MacBook (Late 2007). In addition to partitions for Time Machine backups and a master iTunes library, I want to create a startup OS X 10.5 partition that can boot the MacBook (and a new iMac that will be added shortly). Will the installation disk that came with the MacBook be able to create such a partition?
I understand that the partition needs to be a GUID partition to boot an Intel Mac, but will the same startup disk be able to boot both the MacBook and the new iMac? (The main purpose of the startup disk will be for emergencies and to be used as the base user account to be imported when installing OS X on other computers.)

    Extended Hard Drive Preparation
    1. Open Disk Utility in your Utilities folder.
    2. After DU loads select your external hard drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Note the SMART status of the drive in DU's status area. If it does not say "Verified" then the drive is failing or has failed and will need replacing. SMART info will not be reported on external drives. Otherwise, click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
    3. Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to GUID (only required for Intel Macs) then click on the OK button. Set the number of partitions from the dropdown menu to three. Use the sizing gadget to set the size of each partition to what you want. Bear in mind your Time Machine partition should be about twice the size of the hard drive you are backing up. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Partition button and wait until the volumes mount on the Desktop.
    4. Select a volume you just created (this is a sub-entry under the drive entry) from the left side list. Click on the Erase tab in the DU main window.
    5. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Options button, check the button for Zero Data and click on OK to return to the Erase window.
    6. Click on the Erase button. The format process can take up to several hours depending upon the partition size.
Repeat Steps 4-6 for each partition.
You can then boot from your Leopard Installer DVD and install Leopard on the partition you created for the Leopard installation. In order for the bootable volume to start both your computers you will need to update the Leopard version to what is required to boot the latest Mac model you have.

  • Unable to startup 12c RAC database, can't open spfile in ASM

    hello,
I'm testing 12cRAC database on RHEL5 and need your help to troubleshoot and fix the following issue  -
DBCA fails at the end of the configuration to create and startup new RAC database with the following errors
ORA-01078: failure in processing system parameters
ORA-01565: error in identifying file '+DATA/TDB1/spfileTDB1.ora'
    ORA-17503: ksfdopn:2 Failed to open file +DATA/TDB1/spfileTDB1.ora
    ORA-15056: additional error message
    ORA-17503: ksfdopn:2 Failed to open file +DATA/TDB1/spfiletdb1.ora
    ORA-01017: invalid username/password; logon denied
I also tried executing script (which was created by DBCA) to create the new DB  manually and got the same results - it happens during first attempt to start it up using SPFILE after new DB was successfully created (it was started up using pfile)
Clusterware with ASM install was successful, binaries were also installed without issues,
cluster seems healthy, I see correct files within ASM using asmcmd etc ..
got stuck here and need some directions ... very confused by ORA-01017 password error
wonder if anyone had same or similar issues ?
    Thank you !

    Fixed.
Thank you everyone for suggestions and recommendations -
ASM is accessible using asmcmd and I can see all the DB files incuding spfile, they were created by DBCA, alert log showed same information I posted
After extensive troubleshooting and testing the issue was idedntified and fixed - 'dba' group needs to be the primary group for 'oracle' user, not the secondary one. I suspected that something was not right with 'oracle' user access to asm based on that strange password error. There is more I need to check as the issue and fix with swapping groups seems strange. Secondary group is not enough ti have proper rights ??? my first reaction was - seriously ? wtf ?
Anyway - I need to move one now ...
    Thank you again !
