Workpace - Web Dynpro Projects vs. DC Projects

Hello,
When creating a DC Project out of the DTR (development track) on the Development configuration perspective, those Projects do not show up on my workspace folder like a regular Web Dynpro projects does.
How do I get these DC projects into my workspace? I had a problem before with my computer and I lost everything I did on these Projects, I just recovered the regular Web Dynpro Projects.
Please advice.

Hi,
First, if you have not already done so, copy the old .dtc files to your new .dtc directory.
Next, open the Development Configurations perspective in the Local DC's section under My Components you should see your old code.
Right click on the DC that you want to import and choose Create Project.
Your old code should now be available for editing!

Hi Babu,
Make sure following plugin folder
"com.sap.ide.webdynpro.ui_xx.yy.zz(for ex:com.sap.ide.webdynpro.ui_2.0.0)"
exists in your ecclipse root folder (for ex:C:\Program Files\SAP\IDE\IDE70\eclipse\plugins\)
It is responsible for the UI selection elements in File->New Project->WebDynpro selection.
If it's not there you will have to copy it. check also other webdypro plugins installed correctly. these plugins comes with default installation of SAP WEBAS.
if all plugins not installed then redo the whole installation but at the same time make sure all plugins installed correctly.

Hi,
Please check if its Remote Enabled. The FM ARCHIVOBJECT_CREATE_FILE is a normal function module and not remote enabled.
As you have said, RFC error, I assume you are trying to call the FM from a different system specifying the DESTINATION
option.

Multilingual actions in Web dynpro

I created an application in web dynpro.In the starting project i given the default language as " American english".....
But now i want my screen to be displayed in French.
Please any one help me how to proceed.
Is it possible in Web dynpro or else is there any need to change the settings in the backend system...

Hi Sushma,
Nothing to worry! Just make sure that you have translation teams with you! Translation teams are responsible to maintain various languges for the applications which you have developed. Actually this is a part of internationalization. there are .xlf files where in you can maintain various langauges text for your application and at runtime these applications will be converted to the the logged in langauge.
However just to give you an idea, please go through these links:

Hi Yuriy,
Web Dynpro components and applications are normal development objects. This means, you can transport them to any system using the change and transport system. There is no need to work with a separare xml representation.

I can't say for sure, but it seems that this innovation is already running within SAP
Please google for "SAP Project Muse" and you'll find out that SAP currently developing new GUI (or see on SDN <a href="/people/jeffrey.word/blog/2006/06/06/project-muse--new-gui-for-sap">Project Muse -- new GUI for SAP</a>).
Project Muse will use <a href="http://labs.adobe.com/wiki/index.php/Apollo">Adobe Apollo</a> presentation technology, that is extension to <a href="http://www.adobe.com/products/flex/">Adobe Flex</a> technology that is run within Adobe Flash Player.
So in fact it seems that WD applications will be running within Flash (or Flash-like) player from Adobe.
As of implementing third-party WD renderer using Adobe Flex, it is theoretically possible. But it's necessary to have access to internal XML protocol/formats used by SAP Smart Clients (.NET & Java) to communicate with WD run-time running on SAP WebAS. Unfortunately, these protocols/formats are not publicly released

Web Dynpro and Web Service Error

I followed the blog u201CDeveloping Web Services in J2EEu201D /people/lakshmi.prasad5/blog/2009/06/30/developing-web-services-in-j2ee-and-consuming-in-sap-netweaver-visual-composer-part1 and is very well explained and easy to follow. The author does two Methods and the final Web Service concatenates input fields. One Method concatenates two words and the second Method concatenates three words, the final result is the concatenation of the words in both cases. The Web Services is working fine I already tested and do it in a Visual Composer Project. Now, I want to Execute the Web Service in a Web Dynpro for Java WD4J Project. I did my application, my model (ConcatinationWSModel) and my View. I mapped the class that concatenates two words and is call u201CRequest_ConcatinationOfStringu201D. The problem comes with the Execution of the Web Service and is showing me the next exception:

Your answer was very helpful..... The problem was with my code. The way I was executing my web service was wrong..... There are two things we have to keep in mind while we invoke any web service.... The doinit method and the execution sentence.....

Got reading error when deploying a web Dynpro project

Hi everyone,
I'm working on NWDS 7.1 CE. After I synchronized a project (using the "Create Project" option), then Build and Deploy it under the Development Infrastructure perspective, I can run it by choosing the "Run" option of the web Dynpro project's application. But once I chose "Deploy new arcihve and run", I got the following error message:
[ERROR CODE DPL.DC.3095] A reading error occurred while loading the SDU 'D:/usr/sap/DW1/J00/j2ee/cluster/server0/temp/tcbldeploy_controller/archives/3888/dow.comgcacmpprofitcenterui.ear'.; nested exception is:
     com.sap.engine.services.dc.util.readers.sdu_reader.SduReaderException: [ERROR CODE DPL.DC.3388]
The specified file D:/usr/sap/DW1/J00/j2ee/cluster/server0/temp/tc~bl~deploy_controller/archives/3888/dow.com~gca~cmp~profitcenter~ui.ear is not a valid SAP deployable unit. In case it is Java Enterprise application, please convert it to SAP compatible deloyable unit first.
Additional information: 'The information about the development component found in the manifest is either missing or incomplete!
Manifest attributes are missing or have badly formatted value:
attribute keylocation is missing
attribute keyname is missing
attribute keyvendor is missing
attribute keycounter is missing
Does anyone know what happens here? What's the difference of the Build/Deploy commands under Web Dynpro perspective and under Development Infrastructure perspective? After I made changes to the project, can I just deploy it under the Development Infrastructure perspective?

Hi Nilesh,
       Try opening Visual Admin if your not able to login with username(administrator) and password. Problem with NWD2004s do the following steps.
C:\usr\sap\J2E\JC01\j2ee\configtool->configtool.bat->open it
1. Click on Secure store
2. Right you will find :
admin/password/J2E->retype your admin passowrd which you gave during installation=>SAVE properly
Restart the server and try login visual admin
       Deploy now...Other wise see this thread same error solved:

i have 2 transations.i m going to create one project for one transaction each.but in my carse there are 20 views in each project.i want to distribute all the views to 10 developers.i mean how to distribute the different view or application or component for 0ne project among all the developer....this is my doubt that how to clubbing together all the views,applications and compoents altogether in web dynpro later.

Hi ,
One way is dividing your project into DCs.
1. You can keep your model in one DC.
2. Create different DCs for different functionalities and place the views under appropriate components
3. Expose the components as public parts so that the views can reused by the developers.
Please go though the documents on DCs for creating public parts and resuing DCs

How to add a javabean Model to a web dynpro Project

I have been following the tutorial "Using EJBs in Web Dynpro Applications" for creating a customized LOCAL webdynpro application, based in javabean Model. It was made by just exporting the JAR file from a java project, as it is explained in the tutorial. OK.
The problem comes when I want to duplicate the development but using a DC Web Dynpro Project. I have re-develop every step of the tutorial but using DC projects:
DC diccionary project, DC ejb project, DC enterprise application project & DC java project.
But now I DO NOT KNOW the steps for importing the development into a model for DC Web Dynpro.
Anyhelp will be very appreciated, thanks in advance-

Yes, you are right. I had already followed those steps. The error comes when I have to select between the JavaBean Source:
1. project (source folder) (checkbox)
2. public parts of used DC's (combobox)
I have been trying both, the second one by copying first the JAR called CommandBean.jar of my DC Java Project with dependencies to EJB project into the web dynpro "lib" folder, and then selecting the new entry CommandBean.jar from that combobox.
then i get de following error: "Invalid JAR - No JavaBeans available for import"
So I do not know how to use any of these two options for java source.

Error in Creating Web Dynpro DC - Project

While creating DC (in NWDS) on NWDI track/SC, I'm getting an error during the "Create Project" step. Error says, this DC already exists (though it's a brand new DC). It creates a DC on SC but it's not creating a project; thus, it doesn't show up in Web Dynpro perspective.
Also, the newly created DC displays as "broken".
One more thing: Name prefix (from SLD Name Space) is not getting displayed in NWDS screen (the first screen while "create new DC".
Any help is greatly appreciated.

DC Web dynpro project is missing in the explorer

Hi there,
I was developing a web dynpro DC in which I had created components and also deployed it in the j2ee server and was running successfully. Surprisingly enough, I cannot see this project in my web dynpro explorer anymore. I was working with a different windows xp user before, could that be the reason for this project not to be selected? The application runs fine when I run it using url.
Now, I want to bring it back to the web dynpro explorer. I am trying to do a 'Import' and import this project from the local machine, but when I do it, what is the type of file I am required to give here? It seems to reject many of the files I gave for it to import stating it needs a root file. What exactly is the type for this root file?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

enough, I cannot locate the .project file. All the
other projects are there in the netweaver dev studio workspace except the one I am looking for.
I dont have a clue as to why this happened.
Now, is there anyway I can restore my files?
I can find the LocalDevelopmentxxxyyy.com folder for the concerned project under
netweaver dev studio workspace\.metadata\.plugins\org.eclipse.core.resources
\.projects\LocalDevelopmentxxxyyy.com
I see that there is a folder named .projects
under which the directories of the dc's are given.
Other than this, I can find the DC name xxx
under paths like
C:\usr\sap\J2E\JC02\j2ee\cluster\server0\temp\webdynpro\public\yyy.com\xxx
C:\usr\sap\J2E\JC02\SDM\root\origin\yyy.com\xxx
I guess that these come from the deployed
sources of the application in the J2E server.
Is there anyway I can restore the project
without the corresponding .project file?
(I cannot find it in the recycle bin either)

What are the basic .jar files to be set in web dynpro project classpath

Hi,
I am having a problem while customizing the ESS. I used DTR, DC and imported configuration. After that, I created project from one of the DC(say ess/jp/addr). Later when I open an iView from any Web Dynpro component, I am getting lot of errors without even making any modifications.
I closed the project and reopened it and reload & rebuilt, but it doesn't solved my problem. In my classpath settings I couldn't find any jar files except the jre_lib. Could you please let me know what are the basic jar files we have to set in classpath and where to get them from. We are using NWDS 7.0.06 version.
Can you please let me know how to solve this or any other way to work around this.
It's an urgent to be fixed as early as possible, plz help me out.

How to add new class to existing DC (Web Dynpro project)

Hi,
How can I add new class to an existing DC (Web Dynpro project)?
I tried adding it using File - New - Other - Java - Class, but after a build of the DC the new class (and its contents ) was completely removed.
Then I created a new DC (java project) and created a new class in that DC. This went fine, but I got into problems because of circular referencing between the new & the old DC, so no build was possible.
This can't be difficult, does somebody knows how to do it?
My temporary solution is to add the classdefinition to an exisiting .java file. Very ugly.

Hi Jeroen,
where did you create the class? If the *.java file is placed in the src/packages folder it should not be deleted by a build. (I suspect you created it in the gen_wdp folder?)

Create adaptive web service model for a web dynpro project

I have been trying to create a new new adaptive web service model for a web dynpro project.I am using the URL of the wsdl file to create the model. I have copied the url link of the wsdl from the overview tab of the web services navigator. The web service works fine when tested through the Netweaver Navigator. This web service has also been used successfully through the Visual Composer. But when I try to create a model for this web service URL, when I click the Next button after entering the URL in the model creation wizard step 4 , I get "Error loading wsdl file. Check error log for details" Given below is the exception recorded in the error log: (Infact, I get this for all wsdl URLs)

Hi Srikanth,
My version was
Version: 7.0.09
Build id: 200608262203
I was able to successfully import the model after I did the following
1. Re intsall Studion (same version , same build)
2. Reset the proxy settings to not use Proxy server
