Would like to use CS6 on Mac OS and W7 w/o buying two CS6's.
Purchased CS6 Student & Teacher addition for Mac OS at school, but would like to use with Windows 7 as well, when I get home. Is there a way to do this without purchasing two licenses?
Ned is correct the CS6 Student and Teacher edition is platform specific. I would recommend that you look at Creative Cloud which allows you to install on both platforms. My daughter is currently using my Apple ID with her ipod touch. I will be upgrading her to an iPhone 4S and would like to use a different Apple ID and a new computer and still keep all the current music and Apps that she has now. How do I do this?
Make a new Apple ID for her.
Use it on her iPhone 4S for iCloud, iMessage and FaceTime.
Use your ID on her iPhone 4S for iTunes and App Stores.
Sign in with your Apple ID on iTunes Store (on iTunes app of her new computer)
Authorize her new computer with your Apple ID in iTunes (iTunes menu>Store>Authorize this Computer)
Check "Share my Library on my Local Network" in iTunes Preferences in your and her computer
Sign in Home Sharing of her iTunes with your Apple ID.
Copy all the Music she wants from the old computer to the new one. (Must be on the same network)
Copy all the apps she wants from the old computer to the new one. (Must be on the same network)
Export all playlist as xml files from the old computer to the new one.(right click on the playlist to export and "File>Library>Import Playlist to Import)
Sync her iPhone 4S with all content she wants from her new computer (all data from the old computer will be deleted)
Are you sharing Contacts or other data from iCloud?
Be careful or ask for help about moving from iCloud account to another one. -
I would like to format the external hard disk. I need to use it in Mac as well as in Windows. What format should I do, connect to Macbook Pro? MS-DOS (FAT) or ExFAT ?

If you tap on your account id in Settings > iTunes & App Stores you should be able to view your account info (after you've typed in your password) and you should get a payment details option. Or you can do it via the Store > View My Apple ID drop-down menu option on your computer's iTunes

Would like to use iPod with both MacBook and PC
Hi, Happy new user of a MacBook Pro. I still have a large library of music files on my PC and have yet to sync up my iPod to my Mac. Tried today and although I was able to transfer all my purchased music from the iPod to iTunes on Mac, I am still getting "Only Macintosh-formatted iPods can be updated" in the 'Version' section of the summary.
Any help would be most appreciated...Thanks in advance!
LauraIf you leave the iPod Windows formatted, then you can use it on both your computers. However, as you discovered, you can't actually do firmware updates on a Windows formatted iPod on the Mac, it has to be in Mac format.
My own preference is to NEVER update my iPods unless I know the update fixes something I have issue with or specifically adds a function I want. Otherwise if it ain't broke, I ain't gonna break it with an unknown update. My iPod is at v1.2.1 while the current version is 1.3. It works fine so I am sticking with 1.2.1 which is what it came out of the box loaded with. My other 5th generation iPod (30GB) still runs version 1.0! And does it quite well thank you. Anyway...
If you really do want to update your iPod's firmware, you can either plug it back into the Window machine and do it there or Restore it on the Mac to put it into Mac format, update the firmware, then take it to the Window machine and re-restore it back to Windows format.
My iPod is exclusively synced to me library on my eMac, but I leave it in Windows format to play from my work computer (I switch to manual mode at home to bring to work so I can play directly off the iPod (via iTunes) on my computer. When I get home, I switch back to Auto syncing to update the iPod, transfer ratings, play counts, etc. Works very well.

Thank you!A single Lightroom license entitles you to install the program on two computers, Windows or Mac or both. But it is for your own personal use only, not for multiple users. If you want to install on multiple computers for multiple users then you need a license for each computer and user.

the only internet connection I have at my home is a cellular connection. It is very unproductive having to turn wifi on to print and then back off to reconnect to cell service. Looking for options. I own a linksys e2500 router that I currently network through, but it has no internet connection, as no home internet available in my area.
You can have a go using a wireless bridge.. eg the airport express will do this.. you can join it to the iphone wireless running as a hotspot.. and then plugged into the TC wan port.. the TC has to be setup in router mode.. so this is going to give you double NAT errors.. and of course errors for all the time the hotspot is turned off.. but it can work. However you might find it requires you to manually connect up each time.. If you are really going to try and do this you will manage it.. but how fiddly it becomes might put you off after a week.
You will chew up your 5GB very fast using any streaming media even radio. So be very careful to track the usage.
Apple should have built in the TC the ability to plug in a wireless 3G modem.. via the USB but Apple have ceased to do adventurous stuff.
If you give up the TC as main router there are plenty of better products on the market that will handle multiple wan connections.. !! -
So I downloaded acrobat XI Standard from the Adobe website, when I go to install it, it says "Adobe XI Pro" at the top left corner. Can anyone shed some light on this for me? I have a volume license for XI Std. so I would like to use the Std. version.

Hi. I am working on a Mac OSX 10.10.2 Yosemite. I'm working remotely with a woman who is using indesign CS8.2 I'm still on CS6.8 and can't open her files. I would like to upgrade to the latest version and I'd also like to know why these upgrades are not automatic as i pay a monthly subscription to the cloud. Thanks.
A Cloud subscription SHOULD always show you the most recent updates, so you may then choose to do the install

I just purchased a new mac mini and would like to use my old dell monitor. I tried a HD to VGA adapter converter,it plugs in, but nothing shows on the monitor. Any suggestions?
What do you mean by "HD to VGA adapter converter"?
Do you mean have an HDMI to VGA adapter connected the the Mini's HDMI port?
Or maybe you plugged n the the included HDMI to DVI adapter and then connected a DVI to DVI adapter?
In either case that will not work since VGA is analog and the Mini's HDMI port is digital only.
You need to purchase a mini displayport to VGA adapter. It plugs into the Mini's Thunderbolt port.

No. Your iMac only has DVI video connection. You would need an iMac with Thunderbolt.

I Mini with an i7 processor. I would like to use Boot Camp to install windows based CAD software on my MAC. Would it be better to use a plugin external hard drive to load my software on and if so what hard drive would you recommend?
