WP X7 no longer works on Yosemite

Problem running WP X7 on virtual PC (Parallels 10.1.4) after upgrade to Yosemite.  Alert "word perfect no longer running" is all I get.  Any known resolution?

Do a backup.
Quit the application.
Go to Finder and select your user/home folder. With that Finder window as the front window, either select Finder/View/Show View options or go command - J.  When the View options opens, check ’Show Library Folder’. That should make your user library folder visible in your user/home folder.  Select Library. Then go to Preferences/com.apple.iChat.plist and com.apple.iChat.StatusMessages.plist. Move the .plists to your desktop.
Restart the computer, open the application and test. If it works okay, delete the plists from the desktop.
If the application is the same, return the .plists to where you got it from, overwriting the newer one.

  • Western Digital MyBook Studio no longer works after Yosemite update

A little while ago (Jan 30) I updated Yosemite, and now my Western Digital My Book Studio (using firewire) shows up but no longer works - no Time Machine, or Super Duper back-ups. Does anyone know why this has happened, and what can be done to fix it?

I should add that the drive works fine with another MBP running OSX 10.6.8. Again, with 10.10.2 it either doesn't work or is incredibly slow.

  • Hide Update no longer working in Yosemite

I've looked at many threads for an answer to this, but while many are close, I've yet to find an answer to this specific issue.
Before Yosemite, you could "hide" software update notifications from the App Store by Control (right) clicking in the body of the Update notice in the App Store and be presented with the option to "Hide Update". Since moving to Yosemite, this no longer works for me. It's not just that you don't get the option to hide - sometimes you do, sometimes you don't. And even when you do, it doesn't work. For example, right now I have Notices for 2 updates, one for Digital Raw Compatibility, and one for iMovie, neither of which I want. When I Control click on the "Raw" update the little dialog box to "Hide Update" appears but clicking on it does nothing. With the iMovie update, Control clicking does not even present that option.
Not an earth shattering issue, but that little red number in the AppStore dock icon and the daily Notifications bug me out.

  • Canon MP600 printer no longer working with Yosemite

I have an iMac, Mid 2011 with OS X Yosemite Version 1010.2 installed.  It has 4gb of memory and a 2.7GHz Intel Core i5 processor.  Of my 1TB of storage I have 934.81 GB free.
Since returning from a recent holiday my Canon Pixma MP600 printer has not been recognised by my iMac and I am no longer able to print from it.  It did work with Yosemite before I left and I have been unable to restore the printer on the on the Printers and Scanners list.  I have tried to uninstall the printer software and go back a step to install it with OS Mavericks but having gone through that process once it did not work.
    Does anybody have any suggestions?

    Hi trev1124
I have tried a number of ways to reinstall my printer but it does not appear in the drop down menu under Printers and Scanners and no matter what I seem to do will it come up.  I am just about at my wits end with this.  Short of binning my current printer (which was working perfectly well by the way) and buying a new one I do not know what else to do.
If anyone has any other suggestions I would be most grateful.

  • Mail: CTRL Click popup gone (Copy, Paste, Open in. etc) popup no longer working in Yosemite Mail.

    Hi Folks,
Current model Macbook Air, Up-to-date Yosemite. In Mail, the Control Click function no longer works on attachments. I've been using that as an option all the time, and today when I went to CTRL click on a file (PDF) to open it a different application, I realized that you no longer can even get a popup to appear. I need to open a pdf in Adobe Acrobat Pro instead of in preview. While I can certainly use workarounds, this is annoying. Is this intentional or a glitch ?.

Send Apple feedback. They won't answer, but at least will know there is a problem. If enough people send feedback, it may get the problem solved sooner.

  • IMovie speed editor no longer working since Yosemite upgrade

After upgrading to Yosemite yesterday, I've noticed that the speed editor no longer works. It used to be a turtle icon but now it's a clock (3rd icon from the right in the attached image)..but a clock that can never be clicked on. Also Command R is supposed to activate it, but that doesn't work either.
Anyone have any tips about this? This bug is making an already late project much later.

I found the cause for my problem, and probably for yours also: disable the Wrap Timeline option by Unchecking View -> Wrapping Timeline. (I don't know whether this is a bug or "working as designed".)

  • 'screen' no longer works in Yosemite - Resource Busy

For many years I have used USB serial devices to connect to external machines, using commands like
    $ screen /dev/tty.usbserial-FTFZXCV 115200
Since the upgrade to Yosemite, this no longer works.  The screen commands give an error
'screen cannot open /dev/tty.usbserial-FTFZXCV for R/W - Resource Busy'
There was a similar question from April but that talked about using lost to identify an orphan session.
$ lsof | grep usbserial   # no output
$ pgrep screen # no output.
    The permission seems sensible:
    $ ls -l /dev/tty.*

  • Remote app no longer works with Yosemite.

Since downloading Yosemite, my Remote app no longer works. Have also been having recurring problems with email security certificates.

Same problem here after updating my iPad to iOS 6.1 and the Apple TV to the newest firmware. I open the remote app then I select Apple TV the screen switches to connecting to Apple TV but it never finishes it is stuck at connecting to Apple TV. The App has no problem finding the Apple TV but it seems unable to connect, home sharing is activated on the
App, the iPad and the Apple TV.
Tried resetting setting and factory restore on the Apple TV, deleting and installing the Remote App in my iPad 3 but the problem persist.
On a twist the the Remote App on my iPhone 4S updated to iOS 6.1 works perfectly and it has no issues connecting to the Apple TV it seems to be an iPad issue. I will tried connecting to the Apple TV with an updated iPad 2 later and I will report back.

  • Isight no longer works after yosemite

My built in isight no longer works on my early 2013 macbook pro with retinal display. After visiting the forums , engaging in live chats with apple support and taking my computer in to the genius bar I've isolated the problem to a hardware malfunction that most likely occurred after the Yosemite install. Apple (at the apple store level) is not taking resposibilty for the problem and suggests that the camera needs to be replaced at a cost of roughly 400$. To make matters worse my computer is out of warranty and I did not buy applecare. Am i justified in escalating my grievance further up the Apple support chain to get my isight replaced at no charge ? My argument is that if the Yosemite firmware caused a hardware malfunction then its a engineering flaw and these MacBooks need to be recalled.

Yes.  It will not cost anything to ask to politely discuss your problem with a Manager.

  • Hp5520 scan no longer works after Yosemite update

My hp5520 has been working fine for both printing and scanning wirelessly from my iMac until the recent Yosemite update.  I can still print, but can no longer scan.  What is the solution for this?  Is there a driver update needed for Yosemite?  I need my scanner back....
    Thanks!

  • Links in email no longer working under Yosemite

I have several email signatures which contain icons that link to websites, etc. However, since upgrading to Yosemite these links no longer function. I can use command-k to add/edit/remove the link, but they do not work. Can anyone make any suggestions?

If the iPad will not accept any input at all - try a reset. If this only occurs in the Xfinity email - something else is going on.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.

  • FaceTime no longer working with Yosemite and IOS 8.1

I have used FaceTime flawlessly for some time with no issue.
After I upgraded to Yosemite on my MacBookAir and IOS8.1 on 5S and iPad air, I've had a problem connecting.
When I get a call, all the devices ring (as they should) but it will not connect on the first device I pick up on.  It says connecting
but all the other devices keep ringing and finally it says I have a missed call.  The connection does not happen.  If I turn off
all devices except one, it will work...... do we have a bug here??

Thank you for responding to my issue.  I spent the better part of two hours trying to get this to work.  Bluetooth is enabled on all devices. Each computer is set in Preferences/General to allow Handoff.  All computers and iPhones are on the same WiFi network.  I toggled all of the major settings off and on.  Rebooted each of my computers several times. I finally conceded defeat.  Then my daughter asked to have a try at it.  She worked on the first MBP for about thirty minutes and informed me that she had gotten continuity to work.  And indeed, on her MBP late 2012 she is able to use the continuity features in both directions between her computer and her iPhone 6.  But it only works with Mail and Safari.  I asked how she accomplished this feat.  She said she turned off "everything" on her computer and iPhone (WiFi, Bluetooth, "Allow handoff" under Preferences/General) and then rebooted both the iPhone and the computer.  She then turned everything back on.  This worked for her.  So we tried the same thing on my MBP and iPhone 6.  Now continuity works partially. Email activity is mirrored on both the MBP and the iPhone regardless of which device initiates the continuity activity.  But Safari activity on the computer is mirrored on the iPhone but not in the opposite direction.  There is no continuity function for Pages in either direction.  The telephone connectivity works fine on all of my devices– 3 MBPs, Mac Pro, iPad Air, 2nd gen iPad and 3rd gen iPad.
