WPC layout - Containers

Hi,
We have WPC layout with 3 containers. When I click on a URL in Conatiner1, how do I make sure the page opens in Container2, without opening in Container1 (where the URL was originally clicked)?
Any help with this would be highly appreciated.

I've found nesting Panels to be the easiest way to go as suggested (i.e. Panels with different layout managers "nested:" together). GridBagLayout is a nightmare to maintain, so I personally avoid. I doubt if there is a significant performance issue (if any) with this method.

I have a problem with the layouts. I want to understand the swing containers so I can place my components wherever I want, and not north, south, east, etc. I'm just not getting it and trying a couple of books on the subject - Pantham's PURE JFC Swing, Deitel & Deitel's Java - How to Program. Anyone have any knockdown good references that work - I'm just not getting this difficulty level for something that seems like it s/b so easy.

Access to WPC Web Pages by Anonymous Users?

Hello,
i want to give anonymous users access to Web Pages that were created with the Web Page Composer.
In did the following:
1. create the Web Pages,Site Navigation etc....
2. edited the permissions of the site: grant anonymous users Read Access.
3.included the site navigation into the navigation of the anoymous users
When i access the portal as anonymous users and try to open a Web Page, i get a logon screen for Authentification.
I think that there is a problem, that i didn't find any way to set the Authentification Scheme for these Web Pages to "Anonymous". This is the way it has to be done with other iViews.
When i am accessing the page with an authenticated users, i have no problem with displaying the same Web Pages.
Is there anywhere an attribute i need to set? Or is it currently not supported?

Pictures in WPC pages cannot be shown suddently!

Hi gurus,
I finally figured out the anonymous access of our external portal(EP 7.0 SP13 on solaris) last night, and all our WPC pages can be seen with anonymous user. But this noon, suddently the logon screen went out when we access it. We don't know what happened for it.
Then i checked it all over again and found wpc runtime iview's authentication scheme was default, after i changed it back to anonymous, the page showed, but all the pics include in the page could not be shown, anybody can help me on it?
I checked the pic's property, it showed url like http://<host>:<port>/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/docs/guid/c0723348-85a6-2a10-ad94-fc0406a9fb71, when i paste this url in a new window, it show me login screen, that means it wasn't be accessed by anonymous user.

WPC Problem after creation of new Site - no "Edit Page" Link available

Hello,
I have a problem with WebPageComposer (WPC) and Edit Page link.
We are currently on EP 7.01 SP6.
(I have the wpc_editor_role for my user)
I am doing the following:
1) I create a new site, (derived permissions for all folders is wpc_editor_role - Full Control),
2) I Create some article within its Site Content folder
3) I create a new web page in its Web Pages folder
4) assign the article to the web page and publish it
5) add web page within Site Navigation as a new node
6) I used Publish Site Navigation
After clicking on the web page within Web Pages folder it does a preview.
Our older WPC content does display the Edit Page link - the new one does not.
What step am I missing here?
Maybe it is an upgrade issue?

P.S.: copying one of our older WPC pages into my new site + renaming it via KM + removing old content + assigning new one does display the correct link after publishing it! Any indeas?

It sounds like your are doing all the right actions, I don't think that your missing any step in the process, but please consider the following.
Are you using a custom WPC layout template? The reason I ask is that I have developed a number of WPC custom templates and in some circumstances I have needed to remove/hide the "pageheader" section of the template. This action removed the links from displaying at the top of the page. Try creating and publishing a web page using a SAP standard WPC layout and see if the edit link appears once the page is published.
The editing and preview page views do not display the "edit" link, they only display the other page header links that can be assigned to a page. The edit link is only visible when viewing the page via the portal, not in edit mode. Another question, was the deployment of KMCWPC successful and without error? I have experienced issues where the deployment did not fully complete, causing some subtle issues regarding publishing of WPC content and redeploying KMCWPC fixed the issue. I hope this helps.

Layout not displaying correctly

Hello!
I have an issue with some standard layouts in my portal (SP20).
The WPC layout home page is defined to have two columns at widths of 75% and 25% respectively, but once it is asigned the page is displaying in two columns of equal width.
In the developement environment the page is displaying ok, but in Production it isn't.
I have already checked the code in the jsp file and I don't see any inconsistences in it.
Could you give me any advice to solve this problem?

Somehow the WPC standard CSS in Developement and Production systems were different.

Hi Alvert,
one thing I have noticed in the existing tutorials, that is some tips on the layout containers. Introduction on different type of layout, how to match spacing of two layout container in the same view, meaning of different properties of diff layouts. I have seen normally if I add two containers, the spacing between one's element is different from the other. It causes problem for the total view lookup.

SceneBuilder:integrate third party components and layouts like MigLayoutFX?

Would it be possible to add third party libraries to the SceneBuilder classpath to support additional layout managers like MigLayoutFX?

Ultimately, yes. We are designing scene builder based on the ideas that went into JSR 273, the design time API for JavaBeans. As such, we're abstracting everything layout manager specific out of the tool and into "DesignInfo" classes, such that the tool will not have any specific knowledge of the layout containers, such that 3rd party layout containers could write a DesignInfo and associated classes and plug right into the SceneBuilder.
This is a work in progress and is not likely to be really ready until 2013 at the earliest. Right now the team is working hard to productize the scene builder for a GA release, and take the lessons we learn to flesh out the DesignInfo APIs.

Permissions Issue with displaying WPC web page

Hi All (and Eric Heilers!)
I created and published a web page using web page composer. I added the web page to an iView and in turn the iView to a role. I assigned the role to myself and I was successfully able to see the Web Page....all was well.
Next I created a new test user and assigned a bunch of roles to a user group (one of the roles contained the web page iview). The role doesn't render the web page inside of the iView for the test user. I have given the test user Read/Write and also resorted to giving the user Owner permissions in almost everything but still I cannot render the web page!! I have tried permission in Security Zones in page builder (no_safety, and medium_safety), i have tried in, Portal Content Directory and also tried adding the test user full control permission from within the Web Page Composer role at the web site owner level. Still nothing. At best I was able to render the little toolbar which contains 'Edit" and 'RSS Feed' options on the top right, but not the web page itself.
Any helpful hints, suggestions, tips greatly welcome.

So I'm just going to step thru this with you,
Prerequisites:
URL generator service -> I do not want to make the web pages externally accessible yet.
MIME handler service -> Is active.
Procedure
1) CM Repository Manager (this is optional so I didnt do it)
2) Folder Structure (Check)
3) Global Entry Points (this is optional so I didnt do it)
4) Configuring Entry Points for iViews (this is optional so I didnt do it)
5) I have created iViews to display the Web Pages
6) I have given relevant permission in security zones. (This is also where you advised me to do it for com.sap.nw.wpc -> wpc)
7) Although optional I am using this strategy to create group for roles and iViews created in Step 5 above.
8) I have assigned the relevant roles and group to users.
9) I have defined permissions in the web content repository.
10) I haven't configured search for web pages
11) I haven't configured localisation for languages and regions.
12) I haven't done any performance optimizing.
Now, from this you can see why I feel like I have done all that is necessary so far.
Any further suggestions?
Also, is there a way to upload a html page to the Web Pages folder and just publish that instead of using the WPC layout? As I want to keep all the javascript and stylesheet information? *

Anonymous login via /irj always shows login screen

we have our EP 7.0 on SP 13. We buildt a Page with Web Page composer. I implemented the hints from SAP Help (Using Anonymous Logon to Access the Portal - http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/cd/1aad4abcb98c4597f9e395a6b62f43/frameset.htm).
We are using named anonymous users. The last problem is now that if we try to log on via anonymous users, the navigation appears, but in the content we only get the login screen.
In the log files you can see this messages:
ACCESS.ERROR: Authorization check for caller assignment to J2EE security role [service.jms.default.authorization : administrators] referencing J2EE security role [SAP-J2EE-Engine : administrators]
and before
ACCESS.ERROR: Authorization check for caller assignment to J2EE security role [SAP-J2EE-Engine : administrators]
It is very urgent. So if anybody has an idea...

You already have iViews at this level. You just don't know by now.

That is the way, it worked for me. As you see, the WPC uses iViews to display your developed content. Everything in the portal is always some kind of iView.
When you follow these inestructions, your problem should be solved.

Web Page Composer - Ordering Automatic lists in Alphabetical order

Sorry if this is in the wrong place (newbie here)
I'm trying to order an 'Automatic list' in Alphabetical order - based on page name/title
So within WPC I have a folder with 10 or so web pages in them. and the next level up I have a page with the 'Dynamic Content' element.
Within the 'Additional' field of the 'Dynamic Content' element I am able to 'orderBy=modified' or 'orderBy=created' but cannot seem to do what I would think is straightforward and order alphabetically by either name or title.
Am I missing something simple and obvious?
Or should I actually be trying to do this by modifying the XSL Template that controls the presentation?

I think the your error message could be solved with the first link.
But afterwards you need to perform the steps mentioned above.

Problem Transporting Web Forms

Hi Experts,
I have been trying to export the custom web forms from POC server to Dev server. But then i'm not able to find the web form in the target server..
For exporting i followed this method..
Content Administration  KM Content  Export  Pending Exports in the portal... n then i include the xml, xsl and even the whole of wpcconfig folder in the package .
And on importing i fnd the xml and xsl file in the styles and types folder of 'etc'.. but then i do not find the web form .
Can somebody please help me in this matter.

I exported all the config changes that i had made while creating the web forms . But when i import the config changes on the tranget system .. it says.. there are errors..

Horizontal scroll bar for the adf page

Hi,
We have around 7 tables in single jsff page. Here , we have a requirement like :
We need to show horizontal scroll bar for the entire page instead of each table. Is there any way to get this.
As of now, we have horizontal scroll bar for each table, but our customer is not accepting this, that want the scroll bar for the entire page.
Please suggest the approach.

ya, I know that its not god design, but its customer requirement, so we need to do that.If you expect some table(s) to be stretched automatically according to the size of browser's window, then you should re-think your UI design because PanelGroupLayouts do not stretch their children. Popup for Datagrid

Hi all,
I need a help regarding popup for displaying my data grid
which has too many columns.Right now the whole data is not being
diplayed because of too many columns. I want to use an expand all
icon, which when clicked opens a popup containing the datagrid. The
popup should have all the features of a normal window like
minimize,maximize and close buttons to the right -top corner .The
user if he wants can mimimise,maximize or even close the window.It
should be the same as the window which appears when we click on the
preview button while posting the message in the forum. For more
idea you can try checking out on clicking the preview button.

creating a popup TitleWindow which has the functionality you are
looking for. The minimize and maximize things can be done as well,
but will require some extra work.
Go to the Flex 2 Developer's Guild. Select "Building User
Interfaces for Flex Applications". The select "Using Layout
Containers". Then "TitleWindow layout container". The article is
called "Creating a pop-up window".
You could also put the datagrid in an HBox container, show
all the columns, and allow horizontal scrolling for the container.
You may have to size the HBox with a numeric width, not a
percentage, otherwise the HBox may stretch to match the dataGrid.
This option will take you about 5 minutes, versus hours or days in
making the popup display and function as you described.
