Write data to text file on command using trigger

Hi there
I'm kinda new to using Labview, and i seek some advices.
I've got this program, which is used to read from a usb-device (6215). It measures the voltage at an input channel on the usb-device, and processes it, and finally writes the data to a txt file. I want to control when it writes the data (only one instance/ measurement at a time) via a trigger.
The problem is, that the trigger does not work. It always writes to the file i have specified. Can anyone help me getting this right?
Furthermore, if someone have any suggestions how to make the data in the text file more readable (i'dd suggest using colums - but how?) i would greatly appreciate it. Maybe converting to an exel-document could be the answer?

Your true and false cases are identical and the file write is outside of the case statement. The boolean trigger does nothing. Why don't you try putting the file write inside the true case statement and nothing in the false case? You wouls also place the DAQmx Read inside the true case.
If you are not going to use an event structure (but you should), place a Wait (ms) function inside the loop.

Write data to Text file - Column by Column

Hi,
I want to write a table of data(2D) to a text file. I acquire 1D array(6 lakh rows) of data & want to write that in text file as column 0. And next 1D array to the same text file as column 2. Is it possible todo that?
I don't want to accumulate 2D array and write at last since it consumes more memory & Labview Hangs.
Kindly share your ideas.....

How to export bulk data in text file

Dear,
We have an requirement to get data from GL CONTAINING below tables, but it's taking lot of time, could you share the best way to get data in text file as quick as possiable.

here mxname varchar(128),lxtype(128),mxrev(128) all are of varchar type.I want the output in format
e.g Part|1211121313|A
but due to column width the output,I am getting is with spaces.
"Part then blank spaces |1211121313 then blank spaces |A"
how can I remove these spaces between columns.I used set space 0 but not working.

I have seen your reply for SET LINE SIZE function. But, I could not be able to understand it.
I am facing similar kind of issue in my present project.
I am trying spool more than 50 columns from a table into flat file. Because of more column lengths in few columns, i am getting space. There are so many columns with the same issue. I want to remove that space.so that, data can fit perfectly in one line in .txt file without any wrap text.

Unable to find file error while loading data from text file to Oracle

Hi,
I am having a interface where i am loading a data of Text file to Oracle.
But when i am trying to do this i am getting following error.
ODI-1227: Task SrcSet0 (Loading) fails on the source FILE connection SAPMM.
Caused By: java.sql.SQLException: File not found: d:/mdb/#General.get_filename
     at com.sunopsis.jdbc.driver.file.FileResultSet.<init>(FileResultSet.java:160)
     at com.sunopsis.jdbc.driver.file.impl.commands.CommandSelect.execute(CommandSelect.java:57)
     at com.sunopsis.jdbc.driver.file.CommandExecutor.executeCommand(CommandExecutor.java:33)
SAPMM is connection name.
I am using get_filename to get the filename and it is fetching correct value as the this variable refreshes in previous step of this interface.
KM used for loading is File to SQL
What would be cause of this error?

Did a testing and following are the result
I have
A> created package having steps like
1. Declaration of variable v_filename.
2. Refreshing variable v_filename.
3. Execution of Interface which gets the file name from v_filename and load into target table
Package executes successfully.
B> created package having steps like
1. Declaration of variable v_filename.
2. Refreshing variable v_filename.
3. Scenario of Interface which gets the file name from v_filename and load into target table
Package executes with erre as it is not able to find the file
C> created package having steps like
1. Declaration of variable v_filename.
2. Refreshing variable v_filename.
3. Execution of Interface which gets the file name from v_filename and load into target table
4. Now create a scenario of the package , use the generated scenario in another package say main_package
Execution of main_package is successful.

Deleting data from text files

Hi there,
I am having a real battle trying to delete data from a text file I am using. There seems to be this giant cloud with Java, where there is no real easy way to delete text from a file??
I have a JFrame with two textfields on it where you enter the username and pcname. There is a OK button once you have entered those details.
On action event I would like those two details, to be removed from the text file that has been read in.
I have a text file like this:

pc1
bill
pc2
The data above gets written no problem, one at at a time using the below.

Now what I would like is that when the text that we got from the textfields, using getText(), be removed from the file without destroying the rest of the records in there? Why is it so easy to add and replace files, but not do any deleting from them?

1. check the file name in D:\\temp\\test.txt
2. if it exists, then open file. if there is data, then read data. after the last record, it writes new data.
3. if it does not exist, create text.txt file and write data into text.txt file.

Cant get data from text file to print into Jtable

Instead of doing JDBC i am using text file as database. I cant get data from text file to print into JTable when i click find button. Goal is to find a record and print that record only, but for now i am trying to print all the records. Instead you can create a custom program like this..

Setting Font for converting multiple text files into PDF using VB 6.0

Am converting multiple text files into PDF using VB6.0. Currently, am unable to control the font face and size for the generated files. Below is the procedure am using for each file;

What I need;
1) to be able to set the font face of the destination file ( destFilename)
2) to be able to set the font size of the destination file ( destFilename)

We didn't say it doesn't work. We said it isn't supported.
There are a number of other ways to make a PDF. The one which would
give the most control is if your application directly printed to GDI,
controlling the font directly. This could print to Adobe PDF.
You could look for an application that gives control of font for
printing.
You could use a text-to-PostScript system and distill the result. You
could even look for a non-Adobe text-to-PDF.
Working in the unsupported and dangerous world you chose, the font
size for text conversion is set (and this is very bad design from
Adobe) in the settings for Create PDF > From Web Page. There is no API
to this.

My program produces a normal ascii report data, but i must write into a file in UTF-16 format (that's what the customer want
I know also class CL_ABAP_CONV_OUT_CE, but i don't know how to use it for an UTF-16 output.
I hope someone can expain me very clearly how it works for an UTF-16 together with the open dataset statement.
