Wrong Threads in the wrong forum

Lately we've been seeing lots of members posting Reports question in the Forms Forum. After noting that they should use the Reports forum for their questions (sometimes even we answer little questions), some of them do repost there but some doesn't. Even after stating it a couple of times.

It is very absurd to allow this, the reports forum will be in idle and the forms forum will be flooded with report questions.
We should find a solution for this, Me personally I don't want to see report threads in the Forms Forum, besides if we let this thing going on, why don't we close the reports forum and use the forms for both products.

Indeed, that's very annoying (to me at least). these people seem so lazy, they don't even bother to search the forums or post the question in the right forum.
I wonder how their code or database would look like :-)

Swing related question wrongly posted in the JDBC forum

The OP needs some sort of dynamic table model. He does not seem to understand the difference between JDBC and Swing so I am not hopeful for an easy resolution.
The table model used appears to be static so it is not wonder that the new rows are not visible.
I asked the OP to post their questiopn in here several times so far but it seems rather hopeless. Perhaps someone here can help.

I can't find the rich text button when I post a new thread in the sap forum

I had a EP system witch sp15,and I deploy a sap new forums,but recently I found when I post a new thread,I can't find the" rich text" button and the "plain text"button and the "preview"button,the bold,italics,underline function is invalidate,and I find the IE page has notice "the erroe on page" when my error occured.
eg:when I want to post a new thread,the post page of IE give me a notice "the error on page",I click the notice,find it said:"error:MultiSelector not defined" or "error:MCTabs not defined".
Who can help me?

I know this is an old thread but wanted to post the resolution that I found when I had this problem.
Basically the problem is because the Quicklink is not set properly.
I had to make sure that the Page Quicklink property was set to 'forums'.
I also had to make sure that the Email Settings in the Admin Console had the following property:
'URL for your installation:' had to be set to http://myportalserver.50800/forums.
Hope that helps someone who has the issue sometime.

Printing to PDF: prints the wrong page size and orientation

I am trying to print a simple 60 page document composed of 8 x 11 inch pages to a pdf. I want the pdf in spreads, so that 2 8x11 inch pages in portrait orientation will be next to each other as a spread. Each time I try to print, the pdf comes out in the wrong orientation or the wrong size or both. When I export it to a pdf, it is the right orientation and page size, but the file size is way too large. So how do I fix this annoying problem? I have tried adjusting the print setup but it still won't print right. This seems like a simple operation, but indesign has been giving me trouble with this for weeks. I should mention I'm using CC. Thank you.

Go to the AdminUI ( http://<servername>:<port>/adminui ), and to Services, PDF Generator. Pick File Type Settings, and click on the Standard entry. If you pop open the HTML to PDF section, you can edit the size, margins, orientation, headings and footers, site recursion, and pdf initial view settings. Save your settings as a new Filetype (you can make as many as you want), and pass the name the filetype as the second parameter to the call to the htmlToPDF method on the web service client. http://livedocs.adobe.com/livecycle/es/sdkHelp/programmer/javadoc/com/adobe/livecycle/g eneratepdf/client/GeneratePdfServiceClient.html I am unfamiliar with interacting directly with the web services via SOAP, so if you are not using the pre-built GeneratePdfServiceClient supplied by Adobe and this information does not solve your issue you will need to see if anybody else can help. I imagine that there is a similar String parameter where you place the Filetype name defined in the AdminUI. (edit: I should mention, the GeneratePdf service is a part of PDF Generator ES, not Output ES, so you may have better luck in the general Livecycle ES forum)

Verizon Sent me the wrong EIN numbered phone and has been nearly 3 months and still no refund

I am still not getting my money back for the phone I ordered and paid for via credit card on 11/29/2010.
You guys sent me the wrong phone with the wrong EIN number. So I was told by my local Verizon store on 11/30/2010 to send it back (Which I did) and a new phone would replace it (received new phone), The replacement phone was billed to my Verizon account and I was told I would get my money back once the first phone was returned to you guys,
I shipped the first phone back via FEDEX on 12/3/2010.
I contacted customer service on 12/31/2010 and told them I hadn’t gotten my refund yet (REF# 70331329 and was told expect a refund in 24 to 48 Business hours.
I contacted Customer service (Greta) on 2/6/2011, and she said she saw that the phone had been returned and said it should show up on the next billing cycle.
I got a new bill on 2/25/2011 and no refund was on the bill.
I contacted customer service on 2/26/2011 and talked to Jeff, he said He would fill out a TOPS request and he would call me back on 3/2/2011 and as of 3/21/2011 no call has been received from him.
I called customer service (Aman) on 3/6//2011 and he said I should get my money back in 24-72 hours and I haven’t yet.
I emailed the Verizon/Boeing contact and he said he has “no teeth “ to do anything about it, and I would need to elevate to at least supervisor level and they should be able to do something about this ………….and he is sorry he can’t help
It has been nearly 3 months and 4 phone calls by me and I have been told I should get the money back 5 times now. And still no return of my money. I think this issue needs elevating to the top of the company if necessary as this has become a joke of Customer Service from your company.
It seems that the CUSTOMER is not important to Verizon anymore.
Please stop giving me the Customer Service run around and actually return my money that I had to pay for the wrong phone that you sent me and then had me send it back.
Do I need to get legal advice or the Attorney General involved to resolve this?

Rofl... 1) peer to peer forum... as much fun as your righteous rage is we can't really help (although you will probably get a pm from a rep... keep in mind you can do the same thing throught the 'contact us' link in the upper right). 2) Just as confirmation... you did pay for the second phone separately? 3) Call in, talk to a sup and tell them the situation in a calm polite manner. Have them double check to make sure the phone is showing in the warehouse... that the fedex order is showing as having been returned and that some return refund requests have been submitted... If all of that has been done, and they show it has been returned then some form of credit should be able to be worked out. Oh, I should also say that you may not need to go to a sup. A lot of reps are more than able to take care of this, gauge the confidence level of the rep for the first few minutes (along with how well they are willing to listen to you) before you decide to sup up.

There have been some suggested workarounds, such as using the My Alerts view (but this only works if you've set an alert for every thread you've participated in) or using a search engine targeted at microsoft.com. I've had very limited success with both
of those methods personally.

Access Table displays the wrong data

I have successfully used Migration Workbench to migrate my tables and data into an oracle 10g database.
I chose Modify Access Database from the MWB options in order to continue to use Access as the Frontend.
At this point the forms do not work.
What I noticed is that the oracle link tables _R have the wrong data in them when opened via Access. But if I query the oracle db the data is correct. I added a primary key but this did not help. Any suggestions ?
Also I had to re load the code modules that run the application they disappeared during the migration process. Is that normal?

The table had the wrong columns and the wrong data, basically it was mapped to the wrong table.
I checked the properties from the table detail window, much more helpful than right clicking on the object and choosing properties which only show you the DSN connection. The detailed description as shown below shows the table is incorrect

Is there anyway we can report those threads in the iPhone forum? I admit I did reply to one, but I wouldn't mind if they were all deleted. It's really annoying, and I don't believe they are technical questions at all.

From what I've seen they aren't doing a very good or even logical job. Posts that definitely should be deleted are left while ones that either shouldn't be deleted (at least in the first cullings) are gone immediately. If it is the sheer volume then perhaps the forum should be moderated. Then the posts would only show up after the moderators have approved them.
BTW, what are the fees for higher level status, or is it based on how long you've been a subscriber?

One thing I would like to emphasise is that we must have one forum for PLM - PS exclusively. Infact, exclusive PS forums are very rare and to be honest, inspite of working on SAP structures, many of individuals are not aware of existence and part & parcel of "PS Module" within SAP structure.

Thought I'd kick off the list here.
1. O.P. can award a correct answer to themselves.
2. Status stays hidden unless checked, making it hard on both newbies and those trying to help them
3. No advanced search (that I can find) I've given up even trying to look, and users aren't even aware of it
4. Difficult to see what you have or haven't replied to
5. Can't see very far back in the threads
6. Huge waste of space on useless quote bubbles
7. Trying to edit your own settings takes you round in circles
8. Where is the forum how-to and guide?
9. Absurd to ask users to search without a suggested list to work from, the Pages iPad users are constantly landing in the wrong forum
10. I hate the default of sending email advisories and Safari messages of answers in the forum. My Mail Inbox is inundated and I am getting constant pop-ups interrupting my work on my Mac.

BTW I give 2 thumbs up to the improved post formatting options, but that was a long overdue catch up to other forums.

I know this is the wrong forum, but…
Can anyone enlighten me?
How did a folder named just "Adobe", containing only something called "Acrobat.com.app"), end up in my root Applications folder?
Double clicking on "Acrobat.com.app" launches an installer that wants to install something called "AIR". What is that and what is it needed for?
What forum should I be posting this in?
A global search and searches in the Acrobat Macintosh forum were not helpful.
Can I just delete that Adobe folder or ignore it? It has identical Creation and Modified dates of January 15, 2010 17:56, which raises more questions than it answers.
Any input will be appreciated.

Maybe… kinda, sorta… There are no ".exe" files in the Mac world.
I've never downloaded or installed either Acrobat.com or Adobe AIR. It has to have been the Acrobat Reader 9.3 update for the Mac that installed that sucker on my Mac. I had certainly never seen it before.
That, on top of the inexcusable, abominably surreptitious "Growl" installed by Adobe behind my back, strengthens my resolve not to acquire any more Adobe products, free or otherwise.
What in blazes are the Adobe corporate folks thinking?
