WS12300111 :Is that necessary to schedule  report RPTARQPOST in background

Hi,
I am working on Leave request workflow WS12300111 . I am able to apply the leave from portal and my manager also able to approve the leave. But after approval it hold on at WAIT FOR STATUS CHANGE step in workflow. If I run the report RPTARQPOST manually then it post the leave .
The following are my questions:
1.     What is the significance of WAIT FOR STATUS CHANGE step?
2.     Is that necessary to schedule the report RPTARQPOST in background ?
Please clarify !
Thanks!
Richard A

Hello Richard,
Have look at this thread there is link to the doc.
Leave not posted in the backend.
I work with this WF at the end of the last year. And yes, I had to schedule the job. You can probably but a custom step in you WF to post the leave request (by copying some parts of the report or probably you can submit the report in background in you step). I don't think it's a good option.
As Chidanand said, the wait for condition, wait for the condition to happend. There is job in charge of evaluating conditions.

  • Schedule report MM60 as background job and send out in Excel format

    Hi there,
I would like to schedule a background job for report MM60, then send to the user in Excel format.
I know that we can enter the recipient in the job setting(SM36) but the report is send in HMTL format.
Is it possible to send in Excel format?
    Thanks,
    Janice

    Hi,
I think it's not possible from SM36 you better get help from ABAPer to get the require output.

  • Scheduling reports

    Hi Experts,
I have a few questions on scheduling report runs. Background is that we need to set up some reports to be run daily and be ready when people come to work in the morning, for example daily pick list, etc.
    - How do you set up this kind of daily reporting runs?
    - Is this possible for "all" (most) reports in SAP?
    - Can these reports be saved to a file on a harddrive/server or sent out as a file in an email?
    Thank you!

    Hi,
Currently, only XL Reporter supports scheduling reports. Crystal Report is planed to add this function in the near future. That is all I can tell.
    Thanks,

  • How does one view all scheduled reports?

I am scheduling 12 reports to run monthly. I don't find any view in which to see all of my scheduled reports, in order to verify  success (or failure) of last instance run, to delete or modify a report's schedule, etc.
I also see no such "I am scheduled" indication or view on individual reports.

    Hi Randy,
To add to John's response, you would be able to get the list of all schedules, through the
    1. Instance manager. Log on to CMC and go to instance manager to see all your report schedules.
    2. You can always navigate to a reports history to view its instances.
    3. Run the below query in the Query Builder (AdminTools) application to get the list of schedules
    SELECT SI_ID,SI_NAME,SI_PARENTID FROM CI_INFOOBJECTS WHERE SI_INSTANCE=1
The above query would bring you 1000 results of all the report instances in the CMS database, irrespective of the kind of the report.
You can fine tune your query as per your requirement if you need to get the instances of particular report. Below is the query to get instances for a particular report
SELECT SI_ID,SI_NAME FROM CI_INFOOBJECTS WHERE SI_PARENTID=<ReportId for which you need to get the instances> AND SI_INSTANCE=1
    4. By using BusinessObjects SDKs. For working with BO SDKs, you would need to be familiar with the 3rd option above as through the code you would be executing similar queries to CMS database to get the results in your application.
Regarding your query 'We want to have the ability to let any users go to one page/or click a link in webi and the page would show all of that user's scheduled reports in one single list where they can view and edit the report's schedule.. I wonder if that is possible to achieve'
This is surely possible using the BusinessObjects sdks. For more queries regarding it, you would probably have to post your questions in the java sdks space. Below is the link for the same.

  • Report Painter in Background??

How do you pass parameters or a variant to this FM (crif_rw_web_call_report)?
I want to run a nightly job that executes a custom report painter report (with a selected variant or parameters) and dumps that data to a file.
Edited by: Daniel Simpson on Nov 24, 2008 7:39 PM

I realized that I can run report painter in background & export to file on the app server by going to the report selection screen and selecting the "output parameters" button & configuring the report from there.
I would however, still like to learn how to execute the FM ( CRIF_RW_WEB_CALL_REPORT ) to bring the report painter data into internal tables.

  • When to schedule the  RPTARQPOST  report

    Hi experts,
We are using the workflow ws12300111 for leave approval process.Everything works fine. But I want to update the 2001 infotype. For this i think we have to schedule the  RPTARQPOST  report. When we have to schedule this report .How to schedule this report .In th e same way we have to send a mail using the report RPTARQEMAIL.How to schedule this report.
    Thanx and Regards
    rajesh

Mostly it is scheduled everyday night.
This completely depends on total number of leave requests received daily (higher the number longer time its gonna take) so you might prefer to schedule in night when no other (payroll etc) program is going to lock master data(otherwise update will fail) .
Also if this is business critical for you to update immediately so that reports come correctly then you might like to run program every 3 hour. Basically this is completely a trade off between immediate reflection (all the time) and system Performance.
    Hope this helps.

  • Scheduling report in background and passing the necessary parameters

    Hi all,
Using code (in a report1) ...i want to execute a report (report2) in background.....but at the same time i want to pass data (an internal table and a variable) to that report2.
is it possible to pass data like internal table to a executable report and at the same time pass the data to that report.
    Thanks in advance.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Sushil.

    Jonathan,
you mean to say that .....  report1 will place the file on application server with all the data that is required for report2...
and after scheduling report2 in background ,...... the report 2 must read the file and then delete it,,,,,
the data is extensive,,, i want to pass on 1,00,000 records to that report ,... so passing it via a dataset,,,wont hamper performance..??
Is there any other direct way to do it,,,,,,,??
    Thanks ,
    Best Regards,
    Sushil.

  • Dynamic date parameters for a scheduled report that runs every day

I have a report that has input parameters for a start date and
end date. The report will be scheduled to run once a day at a
scheduled time. I need the report to automatically set the start
date and end dates when the report runs at the scheduled time.
When the report runs at the scheduled time, the end date needs
to be set to that time and the start date needs to be set to 24
hrs before the end date. I want the start and end dates to roll
forward automatically when the scheduled report runs each day. I
don't want any user intervention to change the start and end
dates every day. How can I do this in a report ?
Also, since the report is scheduled to run each day, I want the
output to be saved to a unique file name each time the report is
run as each day's report will report on the data only for that
day. How can I get the report to save to a unique file name
automatically each day ? Again, I don't want any user
intervention where they would set the output file name manually.

Try adding the following in the beforereport or beforepform
trigger, before the RETURN clause (TRUNC gets rid of the time
    component of the date):
    :p_date_from := TRUNC(sysdate) - 1;
    :p_date_to := TRUNC(sysdate);
    :desname := 'REPORT'||TO_CHAR(sysdate, 'DDMMYYYY')||'.txt'

  • Crystal Reports Server 2008 - Scheduling Reports Best Practice

What is the best practice for scheduling a report that will be distributed to approximately 30 recipients? I have uploaded a report that has a single parameter for the physician's name.  I need to distribute this report on a daily basis to each physician using their name as the parameter. Should I right-click on the single report that is uploaded and schedule the report with the corresponding parameter and physician e-mail address, or should I create 30 reports each with the physician's name. Basically, I need a way to see all of the scheduled jobs for a given report? Is this possible in Crystal Reports Server 2008? Thanks.

The way that I handle all of our scheduled reports is to create the report with parameters to cover all of the necessary variations of the same basic report.  For you, that's be a single report with the doctor's name (or other identifier) as a parameter.  I then create an Object Package (I use BOE, so I'm not positive if CR Server has them, but I'd guess so...) for each variation (doctor in your case), and copy the report into the package.  I then set up the destination and schedule for the package, and set the parameter(s) of the report.  Then, schedule the package to run.
The advantage of using object packages is that it separates the schedule and distribution from the actual report, so if (or I should say, when :->) the report changes, you don't have to copy the schedule and destination to the new version of the report, saving time and reducing errors.  Just copy the new version into the package, set the parameters, delete the old version, and reschedule the package to run.

  • Scheduling Reports To Inbox

    Hi All,
I am facing problems while scheduling reports to inbox. As per one of the step given in sdk, I require to downcast the infoObject instance to report instance using:
    InfoObject infoObject  = infoObjects[1]
    Report report = (Report) infoObject.
I am getting an error in the second line saying:
"Cannot convert type 'CrystalDecisions.Enterprise.InfoObject' to 'Report'. "
Request you to help me with the same and provide me the necessary pointers.
    Regards
    Rajat

    Hi Rajat,
Do you have CrystalDecisions.Enteprise.Desktop.Report added as a reference?
That should work, but you can also try
    Report boReport = new Report(infoObject.GetPluginInterface("Report"));

  • Ssrs scheduled report

    Hello,
Users are using a report daily which has two parameters:
    @Date and @clientName
The users run this report for different month-ends manually...
This report is now scheduled to run on the 10th of every month at 2:00 am. with th efollowing parameters:
The @Date is set for the last day of the previous month.
The @ClientName is always the same. i.e. @client1
The way I have scheduled it is, say today is 21st July 2014, I placed the date 30 june 2014 into the @Date parameter.
    Question:
Instead of me typing the date for the @Date parameter, i.e. 31 june 2014, how can the report do this so that it knows what @Date parameter to use when it automatically runs.
If I do not manually change the @Date parameter, then for the following month it still uses 31 june 2014 but I have to manually change the scheduled report and enter 31 july 2014 for the next run and so forth.
Remember that I do not want to change the format of the report because the users run this report too and they use different dates.
    Any suggestions please?

    Hi arkiboys,
According to your description, you want the report can auto type the last day of the previous month as the @Date value, rather than manually type the date. To fix this issue, we can type the last day of the previous month with expression as the default value
for the @Date. Then it automatically runs with the default date based on the date, without manually modification. For more details, please see:
Edit the report with Report Builder.
Right-click the @Date parameter to open the Report Parameter Properties dialog box.
Click Default Values in the left pane.
Specify a value with the expression below:
    =dateadd("d",-day(today),today)
Users can change the date for the @Date parameter to others based on their region when he view the report.
    Hope this helps.

  • Error while scheduling report for SAP users

    Hi All,
We have SAP authentication enabled in our BO environment. (BO XI 3.1 sp2 FP 2.6 on windows 2003 server).
There are some webi reports based on BW Bex queries that we are trying to run on behalf of certain SAP end users. This we are doing using "schedule for" option.
Now what is happening here is if the end user has logged in once in BO system ,it runs fine. But in case user has not logged in to BO (using infoview etc.) ,it throws error saying "incomplete logon data" . Also if user changes or reset his password in BW and if he doesn't login to infoview after that ,system throws another error "Name or password incorrect (repeat logon)".
Based on these observation, we are suspecting if BO system uses stored SAP users credentials while scheduling report for them based on their last login.
Would like to mention here that we have checked option "automatically import users".
Please advice if this behavior is normal or we are missing some setting.
    Thanks in advance,
    Chandra

    Hi All,
Any pointers or suggestions for this issue ??
Is there a setting/option avialable in CMC which could resolve these errors.
Or, user has to login once to infoview in all circumstances to avoid these errors.
    Thanks,
    Chandra

  • Issue with SAP Single Sign-On and Scheduling Reports

    Hello --
We are on XI 3.1 with SAP BW and SSO.  Some users are getting failures with this error message when they schedule a report to run:
"A database error occured. The database error text is: Unable to connect to SAP BW server System received an expired SSO ticket. (WIS 10901)."
It SEEMS as though the users are fine if they schedule the report to run immediately and have it run every hour (or less) after that.  If they schedule it to run several hours from the time they are in the system, however, it looks like they begin getting failures around 8 hours after they were in the system.  This would make sense from looking at the "InfoView and Central Management Console Session Management" document (https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/boc/index?rid=/library/uuid/405547f9-b840-2b10-44b5-8e17ff9e48a9&overridelayout=true) since a logon token expires after 8 hours, but since it is a scheduled report, and the user is not logged in through a browser, how is a token being passed?  Is it captured and included when the report is scheduled?  Would disabling logon tokens fix this issue?  How is authentication handled here if they are disabled?
    Thanks for any info
    Casey

    Hi Gurus
I am facing the exact same error.
However, we are not trying to schedule the WEBI report.
The user gets this error even when he is running on demand from the portal.
Here are the various steps tha twe have tried and still it doesnt work:
    1) Refreshed and created new Universe connection
    2) Bounced BOE server
    3) Synced up the SSO timeout ticket to 8 hrs on all systems including BOE
    4) Changed browsers
    5) Removed cache, cookies etc
    Please help.

lock.release();Ok, I tried implementing locks but I dont know why it is not working...An exception is thrown and nothing is wriiten to the file. I have employed a complete lock on the file so that no other JVM application can use it.
Actually this is a server that grabs data sent from an Iframe and writes it down to a temp file. I open a file input stream, lock it and then use a printwriter strream to write the realyed data to the file. Any inputs as to what is wrong with the code snippet above?????
