WSDL Service endpoint changes upon deployment to production?

What are the available techniques for changing the WSDL service-location attribute value when deploying from a development to a production environment. Obviously can go in and reedit the URL - but ....?
May also need to change other artifacts upon deployment.
What is THE preferred way to 'push a button' and have all the appropriate changes made.
Ask this as WebLogic has a tool to do just this and I am n ot aware of such a tool for Oracle.
THANKS - Casey

Using ant.
- With BPEL a tool obant which compiles and deploys the process, you can set attributes to for deployment to various envirnonment
- or use ordinary ant, and do find/replace

  • Help with alternative URL for service endpoint

    I'm trying to define a WSDL service that is behind a firewall/load balancer.   By default, the wsdl service-endpoint is defined using the same URL prefix as the wsdl page itself.  (e.g https://virtual_servicename...)  However, we need to have the service endpoint use a different prefix as it does get converted by the load-balancer.  (i.e. a firewall rule passes the traffic between the real host names, no virtual address is used)
    Question 1) -- should I be using the transport settings tab in SOAMANAGER config to create an Alternative Access URL for Transport Binding?   (I'm not sure transport binding and service endpoint are the same thing.)
    If yes to Q. 1, then question 2) -- when I attempt to create an entry in this area using the correct URL, it ends with the following error:  "SRT Framework exception: ICF: Error when creating alias node. Unknown"
    Any pointers what alias node is needed and where to defined it?

  • Jax-ws endpoint change???

    Hi,
    What is the best way to overcome a situation, if a web service endpoint changes?
    thanks in advance

    In your web service client you should be using the Web service End point as an URL. Read the endpoint from a properties file as string and create the URL at runtime,so that you can modify the string in properties file later without recompiling the code.

  • Modify service endpoint in webservices.xml throws class not found for link

    Hello, we had a problem for serveral days and have not found any solutions googling. We read the documentation and seems ok, so we are a little desesperate.
    We have a WebService project in Oracle Eclipse included in Weblogic 10.3.5 with the following classes:
    - An EJB (org.test.TestWSImpl) with the @WebService annotation:
    @WebService(serviceName = "TestService", portName = "testService", targetNamespace = "testNameSpace",
    endpointInterface = "test.TestWS", wsdlLocation = "/wsdls/test.wsdl")
    - When deploying the ear all runs ok. Now, for serveral business reasons, we need to change the defalut service URI so we added a webservices.xml and weblogic-webservices.xml.
    The webservices.xml:
    <?xml version='1.0' encoding='UTF-8'?>
    <webservices xmlns="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/javaee"
         xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" version="1.2">
         <webservice-description>
              <webservice-description-name>TestService</webservice-description-name>
              <port-component>
                   <port-component-name>testService</port-component-name>
                   <wsdl-port xmlns:tns="testNameSpace">tns:testDataService</wsdl-port>
                   <service-endpoint-interface>test.TestWS</service-endpoint-interface>
                   <service-impl-bean>
                        <ejb-link>TestWSImpl</ejb-link>
                   </service-impl-bean>
              </port-component>
         </webservice-description>
    </webservices>
    In the weblogic-webservices.xml we define the new endpoint:
    <?xml version='1.0' encoding='UTF-8'?>
    <weblogic-webservices
    xmlns="http://xmlns.oracle.com/weblogic/weblogic-webservices"
    xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"
    xsi:schemaLocation="http://xmlns.oracle.com/weblogic/weblogic-webservices http://xmlns.oracle.com/weblogic/weblogic-webservices/1.1/weblogic-webservices.xsd">
    <webservice-description>
    <webservice-description-name>IE3SEnvironmentalMasterDataService</webservice-description-name>
    <webservice-type>JAXWS</webservice-type>
    <port-component>
    <port-component-name>e3sEnvironmentalMasterDataService</port-component-name>
    <service-endpoint-address>
    <webservice-contextpath>/E3S</webservice-contextpath>
    <webservice-serviceuri>/e3sEnvironmentalMasterDataService</webservice-serviceuri>
    </service-endpoint-address>
    </port-component>
    </webservice-description>
    We apreciate any help

    Sorry for the copy; a browser error. Please delete this thread

    We have found a solution removing the eclipse webservice project and adding the EJB inside the EJB project module.

  • Use dynamic web services endpoints with eInsight

    Hi,
    I'm dealing with a small problem when integrating two multiple systems based on web services.
    The problem is that Ive a WSDL that represents different web services endpoints and my Business Process have to look out the input information and access a different web service endpoint corresponding to the input code. I only want to be able to change the endpoint of the web service or change the server that is called. However I don't know how can do it or if I can.
    To explain more clearly Ill give an example. Imagine a company with some stores. All the stores have a web service with the same WSDL (changing the endpoint). I want to be able to call the web service in different endpoints automatically, without having to import another WSDL and make changes on my Business Process.
    I hope someone can help me. Thank you in advance.

    I would prefer using a Sun's JAX-RPC implementation if you are using JBoss. USe JBossWS. There are many things you have to consider when developing a Web Services. You should probably research that first. If it is your first web service, probably you are better off using RPC style web services. The documents and samples are all available on SUN web site. Try those out. For deploying on JBoss you would require to configure some jboss specific deployment descriptors.

  • Error upon deploying a dataservices application

    I'm getting a strange error upon deploying a data service project.
    The data service project is very simple, I import a single webservice from a port via a URI reference. This import happens fine.
    I then choose to build a dataservice from this webservice. I build and compile the project.
    When I choose test view, I paste a preformatted xml request which works fine in SoapUI. However, when I try to execute, I get an error (after the bea workshop builds and deploys the application)
    I get a java.lang.noClassDefFoundError: com/bea/ld/sql/api/SQLQueryRequest
    I'm running ALDSP 2.5 on Weblogic 8.1.5
    Please see the full attached error message, which is a screenshot from my BEA Workshop for Weblogic Platform IDE.

    Thank you mreiche. My workshop IDE set the Aqualogic Data Service Platform Application home to be the workshop home, not the liquiddata home!!

  • WSDL cache on ESB causes deploy error

    In our processes we are using many database adapters to perform tasks. To centralize the interface files (.xsd, .wsdl) we are using an esb routing rule to create a service that routes one operation to each function/procedure in each pl/sql package that we are using.
    This works very well since and have helped us reducing the file duplication in the project but we are having one problem.
    When a database operation is added or changed in an esb routing service, the BPEL process that calls the database service can not be deployed without restarting the SOA home. The deployment fails when the BPEL process is compiled on the application server. The local BPEL compilation works fine.
    We are quite sure that this is related to some kind of WSDL cache in the ESB. We have tried the following ways to clear the cache but nothing has succeeded:
    - Before redeploying the ESB service we remove using the ESB control. We also make sure that we remove the remaining ESB service files from the server.
    - Clear WSDL cache in the BPEL control.
    - We have checked that all files related to the ESB service on the application server really are updated.
    Only when we restart the server we can deploy the BPEL process again.
    The following error message is received when trying to deploy the BPEL process:
    ORABPEL-01021
    BPEL validation failed.
    BPEL source validation failed, the errors are:
    [Error ORABPEL-10902]: compilation failed
    [Description]: in "bpel.xml", XML parsing failed because "undefined part element.
    In WSDL at "http://[servername]/esb/slide/ESB_Projects/[artifact name]/DatabasePackages_emx_reminders.wsdl", message part element "{[namespace]}InputParameters" is not defined in any of the schemas.
    Please make sure the spelling of the element QName is correct and the WSDL import is complete.
    [Potential fix]: n/a.
    Please note that I have removed some server information and replaced it with the text in italics.

    Hi Daniel,
    Thank you for posting. It really helped me out.
    We had already spent more than a man week on this issue.
    Since the BPEL process was running on a box seperate from the ESB cache we could restart the BPEL box forever without ever figuring it out...
    Regards,
    Aagaard
    Edited by: Aagaard on Nov 4, 2008 8:54 AM
    PS. We were not able to find and clear the presumed ESB cache. We ended up doing a fresh install of the BPEL PM without the SOA suite (which we did not use) and hence also without the ESB.
    This is a very crude approach which worked out in our situation, but there must be a more elegant way around this issue.

  • Exception setting SOAP address to $CHANGE-WHEN-DEPLOY$:

    Am trying to call the Credit Rating Service using the 10.1.2 version of BPEL engine using the JDeveloper Designer. Have no problems calling the Credit Rating Service through the console tester but when my BPEL process called SynchBPELProcess2 calls the credit rating service I get the following error:
    Your test request generated the following exception/fault:
    com.oracle.bpel.client.BPELFault: faultName: {{http://schemas.oracle.com/bpel/extension}bindingFault}
    messageType: {{http://schemas.oracle.com/bpel/extension}RuntimeFaultMessage}
    parts: {{summary=exception setting SOAP address to $CHANGE-WHEN-DEPLOY$: no protocol: $CHANGE-WHEN-DEPLOY$; nested exception is:
         java.net.MalformedURLException: no protocol: $CHANGE-WHEN-DEPLOY$}}
    Is there some additional configuration that needs to be done to get around this or am I missing a step somewhere. Ran into this while going step by step with the Order booking tutorial and so decided to try with a separate project.

    Lasts monday I downloaded a version (10.1.2 release, not preview/beta 3) which has the same filename and file size of the 10.1.2 GA release which is available right now.
    I don't think the problem is in the PM, because i can run bpelc/obant to build my processes. however when i build them with the Eclipse plugin, it won't change the location of the wsdl (keep saying $CHANGE_WHEN_DEPLOY$).

  • Anonymous Client - How Does the Service Endpoint Know Which Operation

    I am using a client (Axis2) to invoke a service through their Anonymous capabilities. When this is done, you create a ServiceClient with the default constructor and call one of its methods based on the MEP that I want to perform. In doing this, the ServiceClient is not aware of the WSDL, the SOAP Action, the Service Name, the Port Name...only the Endpoint URI of where I want the post to be sent.
    So I have a Service Endpoint running in WebLogic 10 and constructed using EJB3. We are using JWS to generate the WSDL and other web service configuration files from our SLSB. My WSDL has two operations with different request messages and different response messages. When I send the Anonymous client request, the Service Endpoint correctly processes the request and send the correct response.
    How is this happening? Does the EJB3 Service Endpoint know how to process or bind the message based on the root element of the SOAP Body? And is it just working by circumstance. So if I had two operations with the same request message and different responses, would it fail?
    Thanks -jay

    Unfortunately you have to make some changes in your code.. to find the pictures you need to replace:
    ImageIcon pic = new ImageIcon("pic.gif");
    with
    URL url = MyClass.class.getResource("pic.gif");
    ImageIcon pic = new ImageIcon(url);
    where MyClass is the class which needs to load the resource.
    I hope this helped you! /Pingu

  • OracleServiceBus Business Service Endpoints user 9096491

    Question1:
    I am having 3 business service endpoint with 3 business specifications(WSDL's). But I do not want to create a business service for each business service endpoints. I am creating one business service with end point. how to change the existing business service endpoint according the business? if any way to pass the other endpoints to the existing business service please provide me the answer.
    Proxy----> BusinessService(3 endpoints)
    Questions2: If it achievable by using dynamic Routing means how?

    Use routing options to sepcify the endpoint at runtime of business service. However this would be possible only if all the three wsdls are same. http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23943_01/dev.1111/e15866/ui_ref.htm#i1290930
    If you have 3 different wsdls and then you cam use dynamic routing, but in this case you wil have to create 3 business service.

    Hi Phani,
    Are you able to reproduce issue as below:
    1. Login to Application as sysadmin.
    2. Navigate to Intergrated SOA Gateway > Integration Repository.
    3. Click on search on right hand side of the page.
    4. In the Internal Name type "FND_USER_PKG" and click Go.
    5. Click on the User link.
    6. Under the "Web Service - SOA Provider", click in the "View WSDL". Copy the complete URL "http://test:8003/webservices/SOAProvider/plsql/fnd_user_pkg/?wsdl"
    7. Open the soapUI.
    8. Click File > new soapUI Project.
    9. Test the web service.
    If yes,
    I think you might be need to execute a patch:
    solution:
    To implement the solution, please execute the following steps:
    1. Download and review the readme and pre-requisites for iAS Patch 18855074.
    Note: Above Merge Label Request (MLR) is build for EBS 12.1.3 having OC4J 10.1.3.5.
    2. Enable the profile option "EBS Adapter for BPEL, Function Security Enabled".
    a. Login as SYSADMIN user and Navigate to System >Profile  and Search for "EBS Adapter for BPEL, Function Security Enabled" (Internal name :EBS_ADAPTER_FUNCTION_SEC_ENABLED)
    b. Set the Value to 'Y' at SITE level . This means  function security feature is enabled and all API calls for PL/SQL APIs, Oracle e-Commerce Gateway, and concurrent programs will be checked for user security before they are invoked.
    3. Retest the issue by Generating and Deploying the required package.
    4. Migrate the solution as appropriate to other environments.
    Thanks

  • Error reading properties file upon deployment

    hi. i'm still relatively new with regards to the Java programming language. in any case... i am developing a simple project wherein the application has to make a database connection to a server. the application is finished already however.. i am having problems deploying it.
    my project has a "resources" package containing the file "config.properties" which contains various information (connection details among others). correct me if im doing something wrong, but in deploying in, i copied the "dist" folder of my compiled code and then tried to run the java exe independently which resulted in an error. i already tried copying the "config.properties" file to the dist folder and even creating a "resources\config.properties" file but it still results in an error. could you please help me figure out how to deploy the application with the properties file. the code i used in referencing my .properties file is as follows:
    Properties configFile = new Properties();
                configFile.load(this.getClass().getClassLoader().getResourceAsStream("Resources\\config.properties"));
                String username = configFile.getProperty("username");
                String password = configFile.getProperty("password");
                String url = configFile.getProperty("url");
                String dbtype = configFile.getProperty("dbtype");
                Class.forName(dbtype);
                conn = DriverManager.getConnection(url, username, password); thanks in advance. ^^

    thank for the help mangst. i guess the IO approach is also applicable ^^; i changed my code to:
    configFile.load( new FileInputStream( ".\\resources\\config.properties" ) );but i had a little trouble in debugging it since it starts the file search from the main project directory. however it works fine upon deployment. ^^; thanks again.

  • How to configure service endpoints of custom webservice in SharePoint 2013?

    Hi,
    I have created a custom webservice in SharePoint 2013. I placed it in a sub folder under the ISAPI folder. I followed the instructions of this article: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/office/ff521581(v=office.14).aspx. The webservice works
    great, however when I try to send a large file I get the message "413 Request entity is too large".
    After some searching I found out that you can create a web.config in the subfolder and define the endpoints and bindings, after which I get an error that there is already an endpoint defined for the specified URI. I believe this has something to do with
    the BasicHttpBindingServiceMetadataExchangeEndpointAttribute but I'm not sure.
    Can anyone help me solve this issue?
    Regards,
    Sander

    Hi,
    According to your post, my understanding is that you want to configure service endpoints of custom webservice in SharePoint 2013.
    Per my knowleadge, after you add a reference to Microsoft.SharePoint.Client.ServerRuntime, you can use the BasicHttpBindingServiceMetadataExchangeEndpointAttribute.
    In VS  go to the add reference and paste the following: C:\Windows\assembly\GAC_MSIL\Microsoft.SharePoint.Client.ServerRuntime.
    In addition, please make sure you create the custom web service correctly.
    For more information, you can refer to:

    "BasicHttpBindingServiceMetadataExchangeEndpointAttribute" could not be found

  • Web Service Error - no service endpoints found

    Hi,
    I tried to create a web service deployable proxy project to consume an external third party web service url. There were no files generated for Logical Ports and Proxy Classes, though there are files generated for WSDL and SEIs. A further test on http://ip:port/index.html -> web service -> Enter the WSDL URL of the Web service -> No Service Endpoints Found, prove that something wrong with the url.
    Any idea for me to check what goes wrong with the web service url? or could it due to firewall?

    In the meantime, there are also consuming my java-created web service using the test tool from http://www.soapclient.com/soaptest.html.
