WsHTTP Bindings in ESB

I am trying to import a Dot Net web service into my Oracle ESB and am having an issue with the service that uses wsHTTP bindings. The ones that use basicHTTP work fine and I can import those without a problem. Actually the issue occurs when I try to create a business service from the imported WSDL. I get the following error but when I try to add the OWSM security policy the list is blank and there is nothing to apply? Has anyone done this or can tell me why the list is blank? I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling already.
[OSB Kernel:398133]The service is based on WSDL with Web Services Security Policies that are not natively supported by Oracle Service Bus. Please select OWSM Policies - From OWSM Policy Store option and attach equivalent OWSM security policy. For the Business Service, either you can add the necessary client policies manually by clicking Add button or you can let Oracle Service Bus automatically pick and add compatible client policies by clicking Add Compatible button.
Oracle Service Bus 11gR1

WsHttpBinding supports WS-* specification. WS-* specifications are nothing but standards to extend web service capabilities.
OWSM Policies,
From OWSM Policy Store
If a WSDL used to create a business service contains embedded standard WS-Security policies, Oracle Service Bus throws an error and displays a conflict. To resolve this conflict, replace the embedded WSDL policies with compatible Oracle Web Services Manager policies by selecting From OWSM Policy Store and clicking Add Compatible. Oracle Service Bus makes a best-effort attempt at finding the closest matching policy from the Oracle Web Services Manager policy store based on the standard policy embedded in the WSDL. The algorithm may return zero, one, or multiple matching policies.
WLS 9 Policies,
From WSDL - Select this option if the service policy is associated with the WSDL upon which the service is based. These policies support WS-Security 1.0, SAML 1.1, and other industry standards.
With this option you can view (read-only) request and response policies from the WSDL.
If you receive an error in the business service configuration about WS-Security Policies not supported by Oracle Service Bus, use the From OWSM Policy Store option to replace the embedded WSDL policies with compatible OWSM policies.

  • WCF service setup with certificate authentication error

    I have a WCF service setup and I need to use a certificate with it and are getting numerous errors when I attempt to browse it. The 1st error I get is "Security settings for this service require 'Anonymous' Authentication but it is not enabled for
    the IIS application that hosts this service."
    This sounds like a straightforward error message and setting the authentication method in IIS to anonymous resolves being able to browse the service. But I need to use a certificate and setting authentication to anonymous is obviously not right since we
    only want those with the proper certificate to access the service. I have all authentication methods in IIS set to disabled when I get the above error message. I have the SSL settings in IIS for the service set to require a certificate as well. I am using
    IIS 8.5 as well.
    Here is my config file in hoping someone could point me in the correct direction. The service should only work over HTTPS since we are using a certificate and I need the meta data exposed as well hence the mexHttpBinding. I have searched the web but no solution
    is working. Any help is appreciated.

    Hi spark29er,
    >>The service should only work over HTTPS since we are using a certificate and I need the meta data exposed as well hence the mexHttpBinding.
    For creating the HTTPS WCF service, first please change the mexHttpBinding to
    mexHttpsBinding as following:
    <endpoint contract="IMetadataExchange" binding="mexHttpsBinding" address="mex" />
    For more information, please try to refer to:
    #Seven simple steps to enable HTTPS on WCF WsHttp bindings:
    http://www.codeproject.com/Articles/36705/simple-steps-to-enable-HTTPS-on-WCF-WsHttp-bindi .
    Then please try to check the following article about how to do the certificate authentication on HTTPS WCF Service:
    http://blogs.msdn.com/b/imayak/archive/2008/09/12/wcf-2-way-ssl-security-using-certificates.aspx .
    Besides, setting the
    includeExceptionDetailInFaults as false can give us more detailed error information.

  • Calling an ABCS Requester from a DB Adapter

    I have built a standard AIA integration scenario where we have the following processes:
    Requestor DB Adapter (pulls data from source system - implemented as an ESB)
    Requester ABCS (implemented as BPEL)
    EBS Payables Invoice (implemented as an ESB)
    Provider ABCS (implemented as BPEL)
    Provider DB Adapter (inserting AP Invoices into eBiz)
    I'm trying to work out the correct way of Linking the Requestor DB Adapter with the Requester ABCS.
    Initially I have done the following (which works but i'm not sure its the correct approach).
    The ESB process has a DB Adapter Service and a Routing Service, in this routing service I use the Service explorer to find the deployed BPEL Requester ABCS service and add this routing rule.
    This draws the picture as you intend and does actually call the BPEL process at runtime.
    However we have had instances where this link (between Routing Service and BPEL process) disappears.
    Instead of using the service explorer to add a routing rule, should I instead add a SOAP Service (using the Component Pallet) and configure this to call the BPEL process?
    I'm assuming that with my initial implementation if the BPEL process is Undeployed for what ever reason then we could have issues.
    Please advise.
    Regards
    Stuart

    Stuart,
    You have implemented exactly how it should be. It is recommended to use native bindings between ESB adapter service and BPEL ABCS.
    However we have had instances where this link (between Routing Service and BPEL process) disappears.Could you please provide more details? Is your flow failing in some instances?
    I'm assuming that with my initial implementation if the BPEL process is Undeployed for what ever reason then we could have issues.Yes, however, IMO you would have many other issues if that happens and undeploy of a service would not happen in a production scenario without reason and planning.

  • How do I create only SOAP WSDL bindings when deploying my ESB?

    Currently when I use either jDeveloper or the ant deployESBSuitcase task to deploy the ESB that is the entry point to my application I get two bindings in the deployed wsdl. One soap binding that my client will be using and another esb binding. Is it possible to modify the deployment plan to only generate the SOAP binding? Do I need to have the esb binding for an esb that is only used as the entry point to my application? I would prefer to have the wsdl that is exposed to my clients to not have the vendor extensions if possible.
    thanks

    I have experienced the exact same problem. There is no good solution to these poorly designed and overly complex login protocols. After unsuccessfully trying to retrieve my password or change my password  I finally set up a new email account, a new Apple ID and a new iTunes account.
    I know it is not a good solution, but it worked.

  • ESB throwing error when invoking Stored Procedure

    Hi there,
    I'm using SOA Suite 10.1.3.4. I have an ESB service which stores orders from a IBM Maximo system(Procurement system) into Oracle database using stored procedure. I can insert the orders through the endpoint URL using the test client provided by SOA Suite ESB console. But when Maximo sends the orders i'm getting errors as below. I can also see that the input is null when called the procedure. But in the instance of the ESB Console i can see the Payload sent by the Maximo system. Not sure where and why the payload disappears before calling the stored procedure.
    I have been battling on this for couple of days. Any help on this is much appreciated.

    I doubt JPublisher has anything to do with this issue as JDeveloper is the tool used for SOA Development. The issue here is with the process that gets invoked by maximo. It is not populating the data correctly, and nulls are being sent to the adapter. When nulls are sent this causes issues in the code because it cannot initilise varrays in the stored procedure.
    Therefore the fix is to sort this issue out is to stop it sending nulls, if nulls are valid form the maximo system then the stored procedure needs to manage these. This can be done by setting defaults for the inputs.
    cheers

  • Error in WCF-WSHttp Adapter

    Hi everybody.
    After install Biztalk 2013 and ESB Toolkit, I try to run ESB.ExceptionHandlingServices.WCF service from IIS, but it throw an exception:
    The Messaging Engine failed to register the adapter for "WCF-WSHttp" for the receive location "/Test/TransformationService.svc". Please verify that the receive location exists, and that the isolated adapter runs under an account
    that has access to the BizTalk databases.
    I've search in google, I sure that AppPool that my BizTalk web service running under was the same account as the Isolated Host Instance. But not resolve.
    Also the "ESB.TransformServices.WCF" service work fine (same account with TransformationService.svc AppPool)
    Please help me! I've tried to solve 3 days but cannot.
    Thanks

    Please try reconfiguring the ESB Tools, there is some issue in your configurations.

  • ESB:  Is it possible to create custom WSDL for routing service?

    Hello all!
    I have an unchangeable requirement in my project - ESB routing services must confom to WSDL specifications that are already used before we started this integration project.
    For example, we have to implement not only the same logical part of WSDL description:
    <message name="AuthorisationRequestSoapIn">
    <part name="AuthorisationRequest" element="tns:AuthorisationRequest"/>
    </message>
    <message name="AuthorisationRequestResponseSoapOut">
    <part name="AuthorisationRequestResponse" element="tns:AuthorisationRequestResponse"/>
    </message>
    <portType name="OnlineServicesSoap">
    <operation name="AuthorisationRequest">
    <input message="tns:AuthorisationRequestSoapIn"/>
    <output message="tns:AuthorisationRequestResponseSoapOut"/>
    </operation>
    </portType>
    but the binding and service sections must conform to WSDL document too:
    <binding name="OnlineServicesSoapBinding" type="tns:OnlineServicesSoap">
    <soap:binding transport="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/http"/>
    <operation name="AuthorisationRequest">
    <soap:operation style="document" soapAction="AuthorisationRequest"/>
    <input>
    <soap:body use="literal" namespace="http://..../OnlineServices"/>
    </input>
    <output>
    <soap:body use="literal" namespace="http://..../OnlineServices"/>
    </output>
    </operation>
    </binding>
    <service name="OnlineServicesSoapService">
    <port name="OnlineServicesSoapPort" binding="tns:OnlineServicesSoapBinding">
    <soap:address location="....."/>
    </port>
    </service>
    And after registration of ESB routing service I've got the following service description (I ommit esb bindings and logical part here, it's ok with messages and portTypes):
    <binding name="__soap_OnlineServicesSoapService_OnlineServicesSoap" type="import:OnlineServicesSoap">
    <soap:binding xmlns:soap="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/wsdl/soap/" style="document" transport="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/http"/>
    <operation name="AuthorisationRequest">
    <soap:operation xmlns:soap="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/wsdl/soap/" style="document" soapAction="AuthorisationRequest"/>
    <input>
    <soap:body xmlns:soap="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/wsdl/soap/" use="literal"/>
    </input>
    <output>
    <soap:body xmlns:soap="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/wsdl/soap/" use="literal"/>
    </output>
    </operation>
    </binding>
    <service name="ESB_OnlineServicesSoapService_Service">
    <port name="__soap_OnlineServicesSoapService_OnlineServicesSoap" binding="tns:__soap_OnlineServicesSoapService_OnlineServicesSoap">
    <soap:address xmlns:soap="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/wsdl/soap/" location="http://..../event/DefaultSystem/OnlineServicesSoapService"/>
    </port>
    </service>
    How can I change WSDL that is generated for routing services? Is it possible to change the names of port and binding element?
    Thanks in advance,
    Oleg Olenin

    So, no docs, no answers, no life :) - I have only one way to get the answers:
    oracle.tip.esb.configuration.util.WSDLGenerator.addSOAPBindings():
    binding.setQName(new QName(targetNamespace, WSDLConstants.generateSOAPPortName(service.getName(),portType.getQName().getLocalPart())));
    oracle.tip.esb.configuration.util.WSDLConstants:
    public static final String generateSOAPPortName(String service, String operation)
    return "__soap_" + service + "_" + operation;
    So it is not possible to change the names of SOAP binding and port.
    And I guess there is no way to change WSDL that is generated for routing services.

  • How to generate a Web Service Proxy for an ESB Routing Service?

    Hi,
    I have a SOAP service behind an ESB Routing Service. I am aware that i can call this ESB Service at the SOAP endpoint which can be found at the ESB Console after registration.
    But, i want to invoke this service using a Web Service Proxy. My understanding is that, i need to use the WSDL generated for the ESB Routing Service to generate the proxy. The WSDL which can be seen in JDeveloper does not have any soap bindings and hence the tool does not allow me to generate any proxy.
    Also, the two WSDLs whose URLs can be found at the ESB Console do not have the soap endpoint properties.
    Can someone help me out on the same?
    Thanks and regards,
    Priya.

    Priya,
    Just take the SOAP endpoint and suffix it with a ?wsdl
    Even the Concrete WSDL endpoint should be having a SOAP endpoint.

  • Is BPM communication based on Oracle's ESB?

    Hi,
    when I use BPEL with the Oracle BPM then I am able to use all the adapters and bindings which the Oracle ESB offers.
    1. Is it right that the ESB is the communication plattform for BPM?
    2. And when I develop BPEL with the JDeveloper where I can use all this services (e.g. File Adapter, FTP-Adapter) to create partnerlinks are these Services transparently taken over to the ESB?
    3. Is there an Architecture Overview of the ESB such as it is provided for the BPM in the Quick Start guide on page 5?

    ad1. You can treat ESB as some kind of component library for BPM or BPEL, you can use esb adapters as a "bricks" to build distributed application. The communication platform and data carrier in that case is actually XML technology.
    ad2. This is rhetorical question as you responded on it by yourself (for instance by creating partner link indeed)
    ad3. of course it is, for instance: http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/integration/esb/pdf/esb-advanced-architecture-presentation.pdf

  • ESB WSDL generation and compatibility issues

    Hi all.
    I have a need to integrate Oracle ESB with TIBCO, and I'm facing some issues regarding the use of namespaces in WSDL.
    In ESB, when I create a routing service, its corresponding WSDL has a targetNamespace attribute, for example, http://www.oracle.com/myRS
    When I deploy this routing service using the "Invokable from external services" property checked, ESB automatically generates another WSDL, which contains the SOAP and ESB bindings and imports the previous WSDL. This WSDL's targetNamespace has the same value of the targetNamespace from the previous WSDL (http://www.oracle.com/myRS)
    When TIBCO needs to consume the ESB web service ( the automatically generated one), it's complaining that the two WSDLs have the same targetNamespace, and they shouldn't (according to them).
    Here's is an example:
    1 - I create a routing service. It's WSDL looks like this:
    <definitions name="TIBCOIntegrationRS" targetNamespace="http://oracle.com/esb/namespaces/TIBCOIntegration" xmlns="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/wsdl/" xmlns:tns="http://oracle.com/esb/namespaces/TIBCOIntegration" xmlns:inp1="http://xmlns.oracle.com/pcbpel/adapter/db/top/CvrdRaCustomersIFace">
    <types>
    <schema xmlns="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema">
    <import namespace="http://xmlns.oracle.com/pcbpel/adapter/db/top/CvrdRaCustomersIFace" schemaLocation="CvrdRaCustomersIFace_table.xsd"/>
    </schema>
    </types>
    <message name="CvrdRaCustomersIface_request">
    <part name="CvrdRaCustomersIface" element="inp1:CvrdRaCustomersIface"/>
    </message>
    <portType name="execute_ppt">
    <operation name="execute">
    <input message="tns:CvrdRaCustomersIface_request"/>
    </operation>
    </portType>

    3 - We can see that both WSDLs have the same targetNamespace, and that's what TIBCO is complaining about.
    I've been reading the W3C WSDL spec (2.0), and found a note regarding the use of the import clause in WSDL:
    http://www.w3.org/TR/2007/REC-wsdl20-20070626/#import_namespace_attribute
    It has the following fragment:
    "The namespace attribute information item is of type xs:anyURI. Its actual value indicates that the containing WSDL 2.0 document MAY contain qualified references to WSDL 2.0 components in that namespace (via one or more prefixes declared with namespace declarations in the normal way). This value MUST NOT match the actual value of targetNamespace attribute information item in the enclosing WSDL 2.0 document"
    I don't know if ESB is currently working with WSDL 2.0 specification. I's mentioned here just for a comparison.
    So, the question is: Is it allowed and W3C compatible to use the same targetNamespace in the enclosing WSDL as well as in the imported one?
    thanks
    Denis

    Hi ,
    This is Shobana K from PeopleTools.
    I am also facing a similar issue.
    The ESB services exposed for external invocation are nested wsdls meaning one WSDL imports another.
    Consider this nested WSDL for example-
    http://10.176.162.55:8888/esb/wsil/NestedESB_synchronous/NestedSynch_RS?wsdl
    Above wsdl corresponds to the base wsdl containing the binding and service information. This in turn imports another WSDL http://10.176.162.55:8888/esb/slide/ESB_Projects/8.50_ESB_Nested_wsdl_NestedESB_synchronous/NestedESB_synchronous_NestedSynch_RS.wsdl
    which contains port type, message and schema information. These wsdls are formed in accordance to the "import authoring style" defined in 2.1.2 section of the WSDL1.1 specification.
    The authoring style used in ESB wsdl is exactly the same as the one shown in the WSDL spec but for one point.
    In case of ESB, both the wsdls(base as well as the imported one) have the same target namespace. Is it possible for 2 wsdls to have the same target namespace within the same scope?
    In order to parse the WSDL for the required information, we need to look at the information both in the base wsdl as well as the imported wsdl. While trying to locate the correct information in the right wsdl, we make use of the namespace value used with the element name. For e.g, the base wsdl may only be containing the binding information. This in turn will refer to the port type information available in the imported wsdl. Now, while parsing, we make use of the namespace value associated with the port type element name in the base wsdl.Based on the namespace value, we decide which wsdl contains this information.
    In the sample nested ESB wsdl that I have quoted above http://10.176.162.55:8888/esb/slide/ESB_Projects/8.50_ESB_Nested_wsdl_NestedESB_synchronous/NestedESB_synchronous_NestedSynch_RS.wsdl, the tns(this namespace) value associated with the port type element corresponds to the target namespace value in both the wsdls and the value happens to be the same. Hence while parsing, when we look for the port type and message information belonging to the "tns" namespace, we tend to search for those information only in the base wsdl and not the imported one.This sounds logical and it would have worked had the target namespace been different for the 2 wsdls. It fails in this case because both the WSDLs have the same target namespace. In such cases, how should we go about parsing the wsdl?
    Your inputs and feedback will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks a lot in advance.

    Shobana K

  • ESB : Is it possible to connect to a stateless EJB from ESB

    Dear Gurus,
    I want my ESB to talk to a stateless session bean, without wrapping the stateless session bean as a web service.
    Kindly let me know if it is possible to do so.
    Thanks in advance

    I think the question is not whether it's technically possible using some sort of intermediate protocol, standard or technology -it is using WSIF, JAX-WS, JMS/AQ- but more the question what protocols are supported.
    The ESB developer's guide states:
    The ESB Server supports multiple protocol bindings including
    HTTP/SOAP, JMS, JCA, WSIF, and Java that ensure guaranteed, reliable message delivery using synchronous/asynchronous, request/reply or publish/subscribe models. However, the ESB Server does not support Remote Method Invocation (RMI).
    and
    Oracle Enterprise Service Bus utilizes WSIF bindings in a WSDL document to
    perform native Java calls to external java interfaces. WSIF is also used internally
    by the JCA framework.
    So invoking EJB's through RMI is not natively supported by Oracle ESB.
    For an example on how to use WSIF to invoke Java in ESB see: http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/integration/esb/files/esbsamples.zip
    BEA AquaLogic Service Bus supports native RMI invocations: http://e-docs.bea.com/alsb/docs261/userguide/ejbtransport.html

  • Error while invoking ESB process from a BPEL process

    Hi all
    We have a requirement to call an ESB process from a BPEL process. We are using an adapter wth the ESB's WSDL url. After deploying the BPEL process, the registered ESB is getting called for most values while suddenly some values return the followign error
    *"exception on JaxRpc invoke: HTTP transport error: javax.xml.soap.SOAPException: java.security.PrivilegedActionException: javax.xml.soap.SOAPException: Message send failed: Connection reset"*
    The catch here is, if we re-run the process with the same values again, the ESB is called successfully! How is it possible for a process to error out and run normally for the same inputs ?
    What could be the possible fix for this? I am thankful for any inputs on this.
    Vijay

    Hi Vijay,
    This is a bug and you can refer the metalink note:
    "Applying Patch 7445876 Results in Error "java.lang.NullPointerException". [ID 942575.1]" for reference.
    Also you can refer the following link:
