Wth is going on!?

i clicked on the itunes icon on my desktop and got an error message which said something like "this action is reserved for programs which are installed".
i checked add/delete programs in the control panel to see if it was still installed, and it was. although, instead of the itunes icon, there was a small generic looking icon of a computer.
i hit "change", but quickly got a message which said "the feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable". it also said "click OK to try again, or enter an alternate path... ect,ect,ect".
i got a pop-up when exiting out of that which said "the installation source for this product is not available. verify that the source exists and that you have access to it"
i then went to the support info link in "add/remove" and hit "repair"... nothing interesting happened with that.
i figured i'd see if there was a more current version of itunes. no luck, as im already running version 8.0.2.20
i tried uninstalling itunes in order to reinstall it but got the same message as before "... is on a network resource that is unavailable"
decided to just try and install itunes without uninstalling and got a message which said "the older version of Bonjour cannot be removed. contact your tech support group".
so what exactly is going on with the itunes on this computer? i've honestly never encountered this sort of problem before. i googled a few of the error messages i got, but didn't find anything that useful.
now it's time to ask for help. i'm sure i'll get something definitive here... even if the answer is that it can't be helped. i really just want to know what's going on. what the problem is, what caused it, and hopefully, how to fix it.
also, as a side note, i can still access itunes by either plugging my ipod in (i know that's a specific option for the ipod), or by going into "Start > my music > itunes > itunes music > ect.).

It sounds like iTunes knows there's a problem with the install but can't find it's installer. It's always better to download the installer than "Run from current location", to prevent this type of issue. Since you don't seem to be able to uninstall Bonjour, installing the current version may work... Bonjour for Windows 1.0.6
Likewise you may be able to repair the QuickTime components with this installer... QuickTime 7.6 Standalone Installer
When they are done it might then be possible to complete an install of iTunes 8.1.

Guys, I have a MBP Retina end 2012 and I run BF3 on it. The problem is that my FPS in LOW quality is 28 average! WTH is going on?

Ok. As I said, my MBP Retina in running BF3 really poorly. I tried the SMC reset and PRAM reset, but doing it EVERY time I want to play does not solve the problem. In many cases it still shows 19 - 28 FPS performance even after the resets.
I really want to know what Apple says about this!
My MBP has 16GB RAM and I am running the game trought the SSD via BOOT CAMP.
Obviously the hadware is strong enought. I even saw some tests on youtube where in high settings the same MBP made 50 FPS average!
Any miracles?

And about Windows, I am following the same procedures as the test I saw on youtube. Original BOOTCAMP drivers.
I'm not really sure if the Windows OS cloud affect it so badly! I mean, the only thing I have there are my games: BF3 and small steam games. Nothing really heavy.
I installed that only for gaming, not even office programs.
Do you belive that my windows version cloud cause this? (even using the same as tested)

What does "Attempt to open locked file for writing" mean. Result Code = -54.

Hi,
The audio file you imported is locked. You unlock it by getting it's info on the finder window ( [apple] +i) and unchecking the "locked" attribute. That is all you have to do.
The reason the CD file is locked, is that whoever wrote that CD, had those attributes already on the file itself. When you copy a CD file onto a hard drive it also copies all the files attributes. It does not become read-write enabled automatically, you have to tell the file to be read-write-able manually.
And, I'm sorry to read that you completely re-installed your system. This is like replacing an engine on a car just because one tire has a little bit less air pressure in it : completely useless. But, I'm sure you're used to doing this on a PC.

ok so the download problem with my iphone.. what could be the cause of that? ive restarted and deleted the "undownloaded app" over 10 times already. and restarted the iphone 10 times... next thing i know i cant install itunes on my laptop.... geez man..
obviously there is a fix which someone will help... but why should i have to go through all that crap to install a so called uncomplicated software... when you think about it this really shouldnt even be an issue.
normally if the thing dosent work. normally with most programs you just uninstall the uncompleted software and just reinstall and everything is usually good to go.. help!

My MBP said my disk space was getting full. I made space and 2 hours later it notified me it was almost full again. I deleted more files and now I can literally see space disappear from my Finder. How is this happening and where is it going?!!!

Seriously, if you check the Time Machine configuration in System Preferences, you will probably find that it is taking snapshots of the disk drive. Since those take up space, and old ones get deleted, that would explain what's going on.

I would suggest that you start by performing a "factory default" reset on the AirPort Express Base Station (AX). Once completed, you should be able to access the AX via the AirPort Utility. Note: Be sure to first connect to the AX's wireless network BEFORE accessing it with the utility.

Text messaging after the new software update

i have not been able to text out since the update, it sits forever in the message window and i can type the message i want to send but when i hit send nothing happens, it sits for a few minutes and then says "failed to save message" .
then goes blank. i have power cycled, and i have waited and i tried plugging in the device and trying again, nothing. It has alwys used up my entire battery that was a full 100% at 7 am and down to 20% by 9 am and all i did was try and sent a text message...WTH is going on with it?

With a strong carrier network signal (e.g., not merely WiFi), I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (step 1 should result in a message coming to your BB...please wait for that before proceeding to the next step):
1) Register HRT

Please wait for one "registration" message to arrive
2) Reboot
Pre-BB10 Devices ONLY. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes.
BB10 Devices. Hold the top button down until the counter reaches zero. Wait for the device to be fully shut down (e.g., nothing at all displayed on the screen, no LED lights, etc.). Hold the top button until the red LED is lit. Wait through the full boot-up process. IF this fails, you can attempt the battery-pull method above, but it is normally NOT recommended unless nothing else works.
See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.
Hopefully that will get things going again for you! If not, then you might want to try a clean OS reload via AutoLoader:

How is it possible to accrue data charges on wifi and asleep?

I'm not very happy with what's going on right now. My family of 3 shares a data plan of 8GB. I use under 1G, my husband <1G-1.5G and my son uses a ton so I decided to start looking into when/how much data is being used. In the previous billing cycle we went over by .009 on the final day of the billing cycle so what's the point to pay $10 for 2G and then not be able to change it back, therefore I took the stupid $15 overage charge for literally nothing. Anyway, I began to look through the time stamps and data usage per phone and it's pretty fishy. I'm being charged data at 4:06am, 10:06am, 4:06pm and so on. I have an iphone5, my husband has an iphone6 and my son an iphone 6+. Spoke with a rep tonight who claimed it may be due to my wifi losing connectivity and auto updating while connected to the LTE. That's a load. My whole family switched to Verizon because we couldn't ever get a good signal where we live with AT&T. My husband finally was forced to try a different company due to work and having to have a reliable network where we live. Not one dropped call, not one issue with wifi-Verizon was actually the miracle mobile provider I never knew existed. I waited a few months to make sure that it wasn't too good to be true and at once dropped AT&T totally and switched my son and my phone to Verizon as well. Having a teenager I knew we needed to probably have more data to be on the safe side but they can't seem to tell me how his data is being used and from 4/2 to today (4/14) he has used over 4G of data according to them. I pull up the dates and times and know for a fact that he was connected to home wifi for 1.6G+ and at his school wifi for another 1.6G+ and only 1.2G+ could have possibly been used off wifi. And I also see that there are massive amounts of complaints regarding this same type of sham. Not to mention I had added Family Base to be able to set limits on the data my son uses. But apparently since he's able to access the MyVerizon account from his phone (albeit he isn't an authorized user on the Family Base plan) he is able to go in and change any parameters I had set up. So tonight I go in and remove this feature from our account and now 30 minutes later I get a "Welcome to Verizon Family Base" text. WTH is going on??? I want real answers now or I will be looking into what others have done regarding this type of abuse. I had high hopes that this was going to be an honest, reliable network I could trust but this data business is insanely bogus. I'd like to hear back from someone regarding getting this researched and resolved. I don't want to feel discontent about something that has been going good so far. But I don't really feel like I should have to turn off all cellular data and close all open apps when I'm on wifi in order to keep from having data charged inappropriately. We are suffering from the same nightmare. It has been 8 solid weeks of phone calls to Verizon, then Apple, then to our cable service provider; daily data checks; overage charges; fights with the teen; HOURS of time invested in trying to get to the bottom of sudden and exponential jump in data usage. It started about a month after we upgraded my daughter's phone to a 5s. She is even more conscientious than me about not using it unless we are connected to wifi. For the first month, all was fine and we were going through the normal 2G. Then, with absolutely NO habit or usage change on our end, we were blasting through that like lightening. She was disciplined for the overuse. We added another 1G just to be safe. That went even faster than the 2G!!! We are now at 6GB at almost double the rate we went through 2!!!
I have kept a log of the time spent trying to solve this issue -- almost 5 hours of phone time alone. I literally have an AppleCare supervisor in my phone contact list because he is so perplexed!!!! After several Verizon technical support calls, we finally an agent who really wanted to help. She was convinced my daughter's phone had a rogue (malware) virus. Apple said it had to be the hardware. But when we really looked at the metrics -- both of our iPhones AND the iPad all all using data when on wifi, supposedly. We had one month of overage charges refunded, but with the problem not solved (reset both phones to factory settings; exchanged our modem for a new one !!!) I added -- you guessed it -- MORE DATA!!!
I didn't see how Verizon could be guilty of fraud -- after all, something of this magnitude would put the entire company out of business ultimately and it just doesn't make sense. But this is WAY OFF. Further, mid-way through our issue, the data category that was using the most data on my daughter's phone -- "Business Services" -- suddenly disappeared and now the main usage category is "Web Apps". Verizon. Really? It's a poor show.
I'm considering eating the contract termination fee and returning to AT&T. I'm not quick to assume, which is why I've spent months assuming some responsibility for the data, but it's very clear to us now that there is something very illegal happening here.

CS3 Premiere error 0xc0000409 on boot-up no matter how many times I install

It wasn't easy finding this forum place but anyway I hope you can help me out
first off I use Windows XP and it is CS3 Premiere Pro I am talking about of the Master Suite, second off I am not English and because my error was displayed in Dutch I have tried to make a translation that was as accurate as I could.
Well how it started, Premiere was working fine one morning, I have been using it for about a year no errors nothing with any of my products however when I came back from school one day and decided to rip some audio for a school assignment it started crashing on boot up without giving me any indication to why it was doing this, the purple block came up and when it was done windows popped up with the message that the application had to be terminated and that was it..
So I tried to reinstall and afterwards my After Effects joined in on the fun with the Virtual Function Call and library errors, Premiere had no changes in it at all. So I tried again and then After Effects complained about not being able to unpack the effects and this went on for 5 hours afterwards with every reinstall I would either have the virtual memory plus or the unable to unpack fileformats and effects error..
I scanned my pc for viruses, zero were found, I tried system restore but that failed because there weren't any changes made to the system and so I called a repair man who took my computer away and took a look at it himself, he installed the master suite again and now After Effects works again however Premiere says this when it starts up
an exception unknown exception in software (0xc0000409) has occurred in the application on location 0x06ad5389
the beginning part made me laugh a little and I just tried to use a different setup and tried to trial version however that one as well results with the same error message as labelled above and I fear that every time I install it this will happen..
So could anyone care tell me wth is going on?

So I send my pc to repairs and they were reinstalled it and told me there was nothing wrong with my system and so I tried to boot up Premiere again btu I got this error now, After Effects however works fine I must add

Can't see my bill...since October!!

I have called countless times to support. First they say I don't have a login...ummm how did I log in then. It shows my name and lets me pay my bill but I dont' have a login...
In their records, the name is right the address is right etc.
On the website the name is right. The account number shown is nothing they have a record of. The customer number is nothing they have a record of. The location is right.
One month they can't help me without the right account number which is listed wrong. I got hung up on that month with them saying to call them back when I find the right account number.
Next they want to access my computer to see if that is the problem. Not because it happens on computers at other locations I tell them. They still want to remote in. Nope not having them on my pc.
Every month I call. Every month it is a difference excuse why I cannot see my bill. I am expected to pay it but not expected to know what I am paying.
This month it was 45 minutes on my cell phone (more money for verizonwireless). Switched to billing, tech support, billing then on hold where I get to start all over again.
NO ONE there knows why I can't see my bill. Today it was "Must be a problem with the website" FOR 9 MONTHS!!!
Does anyone apologize for my inconvienence? NO

Can no longer open BOTH DVD drives after upgrade

OK...I have a Mac Pro, and pre Lion I had NO PROBLEM using F12 and opt-F12 to open both of my Superdrive trays. However, after Lion, F12 AND opt-F12 BOTH OPEN THE BOTTOM SUPERDRIVE ONLY, and I cannot access my upper superdrive.
Am I missing some sort of preference setting that needs to be changed? If so, I haven't been able to find it. If this is a known bug I have not been able to find any info on it.

Help! My IE8 users can no longer access their wiki pages after upgrade to Lion.

I upgraded my SL server to Lion without checking the browser requirements for the new Wiki server. My users access the wiki via a Windows 2003 Terminal Server which is stuck on IE8, can't install IE9 on it. I push out the home page URL via group policy and now everyone is getting the "unsupported browser" message. Is there any way to allow them access with IE8? They don't actually update the wiki, that can be done with a compatible browser no problem but they need to be able to click on links. Do I just need to set up a separate website for them?

Software is up to date, but can't sync music on my 3rd gen iPod.

Before I begin, I wanna clarify... my iTunes software is up to date, and I've turned my computer on & off to help resolve this.
Last night, for the first time, I couldn't sync one music purchase on my iPod. The sync would complete, but my song never appeared on my iPod. During that same sync attempt, a message popped up claiming that 2 of my OLDER songs couldn't be synced because "an error occurred." Never happened before with those songs or other music purchases! Also tried clicking on transferring purchases just in case that was the issue. My new song never appeared.
Then today, when I went to try again the whole sync stopped. Up popped an error message with a big red "X" saying my iPod couldn't be synced. Wth is going on- any ideas? Help!

The billing address for your card must match the residential address on your PSN account for the transaction to complete.
Are they both registered to the same address?
