  • Preverification failed with error code 255

    Hello,
    I am having some problems to run a simple Hello World MIDlet application on Ubuntu (2.6.20-15-generic #2 SMP Sun Apr 15 06:17:24 UTC 2007 x86_64 GNU/Linux). I am using Netbeans 6 Beta 2 (with Mobility Pack 2.5.2 ).
    I am getting an error in the preverification process:
    Preverifying 1 file(s) into /home/brunogh/NetBeansProjects/MobileApplication3/build/preverified directory.
    /home/brunogh/NetBeansProjects/MobileApplication3/nbproject/build-impl.xml:424: Preverification failed with error code 255.
    I am not sure if it could be a WTK problem, Mobility Pack problem or anything else... I've googled and could not find anything with the error 255, just with the error 1... any ideas/suggestions?

  • JSR 172 XML parser in WTK 2.5: problems compared to 2.2

    Hi,
    I'm experiencing 2 problems with the WTK 2.5 JSR 172 XML parser that do not occur with:
    -WTK 2.2
    -Sony-Ericsson Emulator WTK2
    -Sony-Ericsson devices.
    They are:

    I wonder if anyone has encountered the same problem as I and has found a workaround about it. I am trying to create a UI builder that generates itself by reading an XML file.
    One of the elements is a Combo Box, which should be read from the following structure:
    <form>
              <combobox>
                       <value>My first value</value>
                       <value>My second value</value>
                       <value>My third value </value>
              </combobox>
    </form>Then I proceed to generate a vector of UI Elements, and process the Combobox, for example, as follows:
    import org.xml.sax.*;
    import org.xml.sax.helpers.*;
    import java.util.*;
    public class UIConfHandler extends DefaultHandler{
         //For knowing to which element am I adding content
         private Stack tagStack = new Stack();
         //An interface that allows me to access content to my elements
         private UIElement element;
         //A container of the elements retrieved from the file
         private Vector envelope;
         public UIConfHandler(){
         public void startDocument() throws SAXException {
              envelope = new Vector();
         public void endDocument() throws SAXException {
         public void startElement(String uri, String localName, String qName, Attributes attributes) throws SAXException{
              System.out.println("Beginning of the element");
              if(qName.equals("combobox")){
                   //I just cast my element as a Combo Box element, and add specific content from within the attributes of the tag
                   element = new ComboBoxElement(attributes.getValue("id"),attributes.getValue("label"),attributes.getValue("type"),"");
              else{
              //And I add the reference to which element am I currently in via the stack
              tagStack.push(qName);
         public void characters(char[] ch, int start, int length) throws SAXException{
              String chars = new String(ch, start, length).trim();
              if(chars.length() > 0){
                   if((qName.equals("value"))){
                        if (element instanceof ComboBoxElement ){
                             //I add a specific value to a Vector inside my ComboBox content
                             ((ComboBoxElement) element).addElementToVector(chars);
                   else{
                        System.out.println("Content with no action specified.");
         public void endElement(String uri, String localName, String qName, Attributes attributes) throws SAXException{
              System.out.println("End of the element");
              if(qName.equals("combobox")){
                   //After all the values are added inside the internal vector of the element, add the element to the container
                   envelope.addElement(element);
              //And remove the combobox element from the stack
              tagStack.pop();
         public Vector getEnvelope() {
              return envelope;
    }Afterwards, I would use this element to create a ChoiceGroup to be viewed in a MIDlet. The problem is that the code in endElement is never called. Does somebody know what this could be?

  • JSR 172 XML parser in WTK 2.5: problems compared to 2.2 (part 2)

    Hi,
    I'm experiencing 2 problems with the WTK 2.5 JSR 172 XML parser that do not occur with:
    -WTK 2.2
    -Sony-Ericsson Emulator WTK2

    I tried:
    parserFactory.setFeature("http://xml.org/sax/features/namespace-prefixes", true);
    -> still the same
    Then I tried:
    parserFactory.setFeature("http://xml.org/sax/features/namespaces", true);
    with this I get an exception when I try to create a parser.
    2- documents with multiple roots cause a parser panic.
    It is widely known that an XML document MUST NOT have multiple roots.
    I know. So what you're saying is they fixed a bug...
    Still, since devices and the WTK 2.2 doesn't have it, I was hoping there might be a backwards-compatiblity mode.
    I am trying to use the XML parser to parse a small HTML subset. If at least the panic Exception reported the position in the stream, maybe I could just start parsing again from there.
    The point is, why has ist changed, and will the change move to all implementations.
    Anyone has a hunch?

  • WTK SDK 3.0 for OSX problem with capturing audio, emulator

    Hello all,
    i'm installed the WTK SDK 3.0 for osx and everything works well. Some test applications also work.
    Now I'm trying to realize my project and get strange error.
    I want to capture some audio form the microphone. But when i do so the Emulator strikes with this error:
    javax.microedition.media.MediaException: Player cannot be created for capture://audio
    so i tried this: System.getProperty("supports.recording") and it returns false. But when i read over the specification of the WTK it says that it should support the Audio capturing. Is this error based on the implementation of the WTK on OSX or have some Windows users also the same problem?
    here is my implementation for the Audio recording:
    public void commandAction(Command comm, Displayable disp){
            if(comm==recordCommand){
                try{
                    p = Manager.createPlayer("capture://audio");
                    p.realize();
                    RecordControl rc = (RecordControl)p.getControl("RecordControl");
                    ByteArrayOutputStream output = new ByteArrayOutputStream();
                    rc.setRecordStream(output);
                    rc.startRecord();
                    p.start();
                    messageItem.setText("recording...");
                    Thread.currentThread().sleep(5000);
                    messageItem.setText("done!");
                    rc.commit();
                    recordedSoundArray = output.toByteArray();
                    p.close();
                } catch (IOException ioe) {
                    errorItem.setLabel("Error");
                    errorItem.setText(ioe.toString());
                } catch (MediaException me) {
                    errorItem.setLabel("Error");
                    errorItem.setText(me.toString());
                } catch (InterruptedException ie) {
                    errorItem.setLabel("Error");
                    errorItem.setText(ie.toString());
            } else if(comm == playCommand) {
                try {
                    ByteArrayInputStream recordedInputStream = new ByteArrayInputStream
                          (recordedSoundArray);
                    Player p2 = Manager.createPlayer(recordedInputStream,"audio/basic");
                    p2.prefetch();
                    p2.start();
                }  catch (IOException ioe) {
                    errorItem.setLabel("Error");
                    errorItem.setText(ioe.toString());
                } catch (MediaException me) {
                    errorItem.setLabel("Error");

  • Problem capturing audio in WTK

    When I capture a sound with WTK emulator, picks the first second and starts to repeat again and again, to become noise.
    This only happens in the emulator, not on the phone.

    Already found the problem, this is caused by my soundcard.

  • WTK 2.5.2 and cref from JCDK 2.2.2 communication problem.

    Hello everybody
    Just for own interest I was playing with the Java Card SDK 2.2.2 and WTK 2.5.2. But I am getting "Protocol mismatch error" as WTK runs on T=0 and cref runs on T=1. Does anybody have ever faced this problem and how to get rid of it?
    Thanks in advance.
    Shan!!!

    Try to read my post again, please, I think you misunderstood those problem descriptions.
    1. No package-list files - no javaddoc in eclipse 3.2.1. Just try it yourself and you'll see.
    2. You didn't tried do you? The Manager.class is there, but Cipher.class is still missing. That doesn't break anything btw, it is just weird :)

  • Problem with netbeans and WTK.

    Hi I reinstalled my computer...
    I have installed "J2me with netbeans "
    when I am running my project (the build is ok)
    my emulator refuses to load or when it lodes it "fly" out after few seconds
    I traied to reinstall netbeans ,
    instaled WTK in a different folder (then inside netbeans)
    but nothings seems to work
    I am hopeless...
    PLz HELP!!!

    Hi Anvi,
    I think you posted in the right place as the J2ME SDK Team read this forum (though they sometimes don't respond promptly as we would have liked). I also got the same issue as you, but check out the responses by the J2ME SDK Team to: https://blogs.oracle.com/javamesdk/entry/update_java_me_sdk_through
    It seems there are issues with Netbeans 7.1, and they are fixing things for the next release for Netbeans 7.1.1 so I am sure they are aware of problems that we are encountering. Its fine for Netbeans 6.9/7 if you cannot wait though.

  • Java card simulator and WTK communication problem.

    Hi ,
    I am a newbie to java card .I am doing project on java card based sim.
    For that I am using JavaCard SDK 2.2.2 and WTK 2.5.2 .
    Now when i am trying to connect to cref(java card simulator) from java card midlet,I am getting protocol mismatch error.This is because of WTK runs on slot T=0 and cref runs on T=1.
    then i tried with jcdk3.0.1 classic edition.It provides cref configured to run on both slots T=0 and T=1.
    But when I tried to deploy jcrmi applet on cref running on T=0 i am getting the same error "Protocol mismatch error".
    Can anybody please tell, if there is any way to configure cref to run with T=0?
    Please reply ASAP, as i am stucked with the problem from more than a month.
    Thanks in advance,
    Saviy

    Thanks Anki for replying.

  • J2ME WTK: Deployment Problem

    Hi everyone!
    I have finished developing a really cool MIDlet and now I want to get it to run on my mobile phone.
    I turned on the Bluetooth feature on my phone (Sony Ericsson T630..supposed to support MIDlets) and sent the JAR file from my PC to the phone without any problems.
    However, in the end, just as I get a "successfully sent" message from the PC, and a "saving" message from my phone, the phone then gives me an "Invalid Application" message and the JAR file is never saved.
    Can anyone tell me how I can use Bluetooth to tranfer the MIDlet sucessfully please?

    hi Tom Tom...
    thank you for the tips....i have done this several time before...but with no luck....i tried it again according to your steps..then again....the results still the same...WTK 2.5 beta...even worst...the open project option didn't even functioning..
    i tried to uninstall any unnecessary software in my machine such as ...limewire..skype .but still no luck.

    Hi friends,
    I am new to Java Card technologies, previously i worked in SCOSTA cards using java application. Now i want to develop java applet and mask into the javacard.
    I tried Java_card_kit-2.2.1 package to build cap file using sample class files based on the specification.
    In command prompt, i configured path and classpath perfectly....
    But when i tried to make cap file by using the following command i am getting error.
    set JC_HOME=C:\java_card_kit-2_2_1
    set JAVA_HOME=C:\j2sdk1.4.2_09
    SET PATH=%JC_HOME%\bin;%PATH%
    SET CLASSPATH=%JC_HOME%\lib\api21.jar;%CLASSPATH%
    converter.bat -out JCA -classdir %JC_HOME%\samples\classes\com\sun\javacard\samples\HelloWorld 0xF2:0x34:0x12:0x34:0x56:0x10:0x10:0x00 1.10I am getting the following error,
    error: invalid AID 1.0.
    Usage:  converter  <options>  package_name  package_aid  major_version.minor_versionSo kindly help me the best way to make cap file.
    regards,
    dhaya.You could try the following:
    converter.bat -classdir %JC_HOME%\samples\classes com.sun.javacard.samples 0xF2:0x34:0x12:0x34:0x56:0x10:0x10:0x00 1.0You only need to specify the base directory for the classes and you need to specify the package separately.
    If you only want to convert to a JCA file you would use the following otherwise all 3 artifacts will be gernerated (CAP, JCA and EXP)
    converter.bat -out JCA -classdir %JC_HOME%\samples\classes com.sun.javacard.samples 0xF2:0x34:0x12:0x34:0x56:0x10:0x10:0x00 1.0I hope this helps.

  • WTK Emulator Bluetooth Problem

    Hi
    WTK 2.5.2 installed on my computer. I have developed a bluetooth application .My application is running any mobile phone. However , it doesn't run wtk emulator. I have tried wtk 2.5.2 BluetoothDemo on emulator but client emulator can't find any device in range .Is there anybody that has an idea about this topic ?

    Don't be silly, bluetooth on the emulator is emulated.
    If you need a bluetooth application that can run on your computer, search for a Java SE bluetooth implemention. One I am aware of is Bluecove. It's free, but doesn't work with all bluetooth stacks.
