WWSSO_APP_USER_MGR.EDIT_USER

When trying to change a user's password normally (manually) via portal, the "Edit User" screen asks for an Admin password. If I enter portal30 as the password (for portal30 user), it accepts it as expected.
However, when I create an application component (dynamic page) with the followong content...
<CODE>
<FORM ACTION=/pls/PORTAL30_SSO/portal30_sso.wwsso_app_user_mgr.edit_user METHOD=POST NAME=EditUserForm>
<INPUT TYPE=TEXT NAME=P_USERNAME VALUE="TESTUSER">
<INPUT TYPE=TEXT NAME=P_ADMINPWD VALUE="portal30">
<INPUT TYPE=TEXT NAME=P_password VALUE="oracle">
<INPUT TYPE=TEXT NAME=P_password_confirm VALUE="oracle">
<INPUT TYPE=TEXT NAME=P_activate_on VALUE="09-JAN-2001">
<INPUT TYPE=TEXT NAME=P_terminate_on VALUE="">
<INPUT TYPE=TEXT NAME=P_role VALUE="USER">
<INPUT TYPE=TEXT NAME=P_request VALUE="OK">
<INPUT TYPE=TEXT NAME=P_action VALUE="">
<INPUT TYPE=TEXT NAME=P_back VALUE="http://<server>/pls/portal30/">
<INPUT TYPE=SUBMIT VALUE="Change Password">
<INPUT TYPE=SUBMIT VALUE="Cancel" onClick="reset();return (false);">
</FORM>
</CODE>
...and try running the application component then it always pops up the "Edit User' screen again when I click "Submit" in the above form. On this form, it never accepts portal30 as the admin password anymore. Any ideas why?
Thanks

There is another thread that should give you the answer to this. The search link is in the upper right; I know it's a little hard to spot but it's very useful once you do.

  • APEX_UTIL.EDIT_USER Procedure do not work correctly in APEX 4.0.2.00.07

    Hi,
    I created user in Apex system without privileges.
    Next I want to provision privileges using APEX_UTIL.EDIT_USER Procedure.
    But when I try to set p_developer_roles param to ADMIN:CREATE:DATA_LOADER:EDIT:HELP:MONITOR:SQL in web interface of apex I see the next values: User is workspace administrator - yes; User is a developer - yes; other privilege attributes are NO! When I login I can access to Application Builder but not to SQL Workshop.
    In short if i try to provision any developers privileges changes not appearing in web interface, but also i can access to Application Builder if I have that privilege. When I provision SQL:MONITOR:DATA_LOADER privilege I also see:
    User is workspace administrator - no; User is a developer - yes; other privilege attributes are NO and I can't access to SQL Workshop!
    APEX_UTIL.CREATE_USER Procedure with same values for p_developer_privs param work fine...
    Help me to resolve this issue.

    Please, help

  • Where are these api's stored in the database for apex?

    I don't know if my version of APEX has the apex_util.edit_user API. Can You tell me how I can find it?

    Forgive me if I'm reading this wrong here, but I suspect that you have the validation the wrong way round.
    Firstly, I am assuming that when you say "validation" you mean the in-built apex validation items, rather than some custom process. If so, validation messages are only triggered upon failure i.e. if you want the validation to check that passwords are exactly 8 characters long, the validation should be: length(:P90_PASSWORD) = 8 This means that passwords which are 0-7 or >8 characters in length will fail the validation and thus trigger the validation failure message.
    Remember: the purpose of apex validation is to confirm validity - not find invalidity - and thus should be written accordingly. It's a subtle distinction but important!

  • Sql server 2012 Logon trigger not working for certain logins

    Hello. I created a login trigger to insert data for each login in a table, and it works for all logins except one that is format domain\login
    and the login ends with the dollar sign(actual name is domain\CTXDEVDCSI1$).
    I had been using varchar, but after reading other forum posts, I changed the varchar's to nvarchar's, but it still fails for that id.
    The errors written to the sql server error log were the usual "login failed due to trigger execution".
    I had granted insert on the rvvlogindata table in dsa to public, and only one id wasn't able to login after that.
    Any suggestions would be much appreciated!
    Here's the modified table ddl:
    SET ANSI_NULLS ON

    Erland, I wanted to add more info to my reply earlier today.
    sp_who2 showed no blocking, activity monitor from my local PC SSMS showed no major waits or high i/o or cpu activity.
    I was wondering if you have any suggestions on how to find out what was the cause of the 5+ minute wait for SSMS on the remote desktop to respond and fully come up.
    I definitely can't put this in production with this hanging delay possibly occurring there.
    I was connecting as read_user when it hung.
    sp_who2 output at the time was:

  • ORA-00164: autonomous transaction disallowed within distributed transaction

    I have been trying to solve this problem for weeks now, I have posted this question everywhere I can think of, but I havent really received and answer that has helped, so now I am going to post it here hoping for an answer.
    We are running 9iAS on Solaris and when the following stuff is run we are getting ORA-00164 errors. If you refresh the page a bunch of time the problem goes away. But it comes back the next time you try to execute the procedure again. Here are the cases when the problem shows up.
    Editing the style:
    PROCEDURE : PORTAL30.wwpob_app_style.edit_style
    Saving changes to the banner for a page
    PROCEDURE : PORTAL30.wwptl_banner.savecustom
    Logging out
    PROCEDURE : PORTAL30.wwsec_app_priv.logout
    After setting the default user group and applying the changes:
    PROCEDURE : PORTAL30.wwsec_app_user_mgr.edit_user
    Creating a new group:
    PROCEDURE : PORTAL30.wwsec_app_group_mgr.create_group
    Opening the add portlet screen:
    PROCEDURE : PORTAL30.wwv_main.main
    There are a few other places but I don't have them documented. In ALL cases the problem goes away once we start and stop the Apache using the following comands:
    /app/oracle/n_portal/Apache/Apache/bin/apachectl stop
    ps -ef | grep httpd | grep n_portal
    /app/oracle/n_portal/Apache/Apache/bin/apachectl start
    After starting and stopping Apache the problem is gone for a little while (20-30 mins) then it starts coming back slowly (sometimes the problem is there then it is not). Once the problem is back if you continually press refresh on the browser (5-10 times) the page might appear, if the page does not appear you will see the
    ORA-00164: autonomous transaction disallowed within distributed transaction
    The following error appears in apache log (50% of the time) when Autonomous Transaction error shows up on the screen:-
    DSHttpSessionBindingListenerImpl.valueUnbound : closing DS session : DSSession id = 5225534324468880950975536484
    215 PortalSession id = 521335001720MERAJ
    DSHttpSessionBindingListenerImpl.valueUnbound : closing DS session : DSSession id = -638034231325135430097553725
    8001 PortalSession id = 992335001711JDALGLIESH
    These errors might be related to dynamic services but we were had the problem long before Dynamic services was installed.
    We want to start pre-production user testing as we have just had 11 developers building portlets for the company, but we cant do much with this error popping up every time a user wants to test it. We have one of the Oracle consultants here and he has asked the oracle developer group what the problem could be, and they seem to think it might be related to our use of DB links however, we never get the problem when we try to run a portlet that uses a database link.
    Please help.

    Jay,
    My name is Craig McCauley. I'm an Oracle Technical Manager working onsite at Unocal Indonesia. I'm with the Portal group in ATS.
    When I got here the first thing we did was bump up init.ora parameters and apache confif parameters as suggested by the iPlatform group. We have thes sessions parameter (in init.ora) bumped up from 100 to 700. I'm watching v$session and the get these AT messages with as few as 70 total db sessions. Any help your group can give will be greatly appreciated.
    Unocal is planning on implementing Oracle Portal globally - as a common interface. They have similar installs in Thailand and Houston and thus far have not seen the AT messages (although there has not been much development going on at those sites).
    Thanks,
    Craig

  • User's changing their own password

    Is it possible to allow user to change their own password when logged onto a portal applicastion I have written ?

    Presumably, the application you say you have written, is a Login Server partner application. So changing the user's password means changing it on the login server.
    The URL that you need to go to, to do this, is something like: http://server.domain.com/pls/portal30_sso/portal30_sso.wwsso_app_user_mgr.change_password?p_done_url=xxxxx
    Where xxxxx is the URL where you want control to go after the user submits their new password.

    I guess it will be something to do with the schema you are trying to access from!

  • User and Accounts mapping

    Hi All,
    we created Users and Accounts using RIDC.
    Now need to map user Account mapping programmatically.
    Let me know any suggestion.
    Thanks to all.

    Hi ,
    Infact while creating the user itself this could have been done using the following :
    ADD_USER with the following parameters :
    HDA format with optional parameters:
    @Properties LocalData
    IdcService=ADD_USER
    dName=jsmith
    dUserAuthType=LOCAL
    dFullName=Jennifer Smith
    dPassword=password
    dEmail=[email protected]
    @end
    @ResultSet UserAttribInfo
    2
    dUserName
    AttributeInfo
    jsmith
    role,admin,15,role,contributor,15
    @end
    Now that the users are all created you will need to use the EDIT_USER service call to add accounts to the users :
    The format for doing this is described with the mandatory and optional parameters : http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23943_01/doc.1111/e11011/c04_core.htm#CSSRG2678
    Hope this helps .
    Thanks

  • Privileges in Xe

    Hi,
    I have create an aplication, when someone whant´s to access a restrict area must make a register and then make the login. The data of the register is in the table users that i have create, so all the users can only see the webpage.
    Is it possible to give to some users administrator previleges, so they can acess to the application builder and access to all information ao the application , like tables etc.
    Thank´s

    Hi Lionel,
    I have a few questions for you:
    Do you actually want these users to be developers / administrators in your application? You may want to carefully consider this. If they truly are capable of developing and administering your application then okay... If not then letting end users loose in the back end of APEX is only going to end in tears...
    What do you need them to actually see - is it the table data? You could make a few application reports on those tables if needed and set some conditional displays for certain user groups and of course allow editing of the data if required.
    What other application information would you want your users to have access to?
    Is the register used to audit certain page visits (or something like that)?
    Are you using the 10g XE database with original APEX version (2.1.0.00.39)? If so then I think each workspace has its own schema and the owner (schema) is the workspace administrator. I think there is a way to set users as developers in this version of APEX however I am not sure how to do it in the GUI. Take a look at the EDIT_USER procedure -maybe that can help. If you are on APEX 3.0.1 then you can manage users and flag them as developers (or administrators) of the workspace by going to the Home>Administration>Manage Application Express Users page and editing the user you want to.
    Cheers,
    Mike

  • How to Use API to create Page/Book and etc. rather than using Workshop

    Hi Anyone,
    Can anyone suggest me where I can get sample using Bea API to create such as Book/Page and etc..
    I can not find from eDoc that bea provide.

    Looks like your fetch_user into l_developer_role overwrites its default value and then your use of lv_developer_role in edit_user passes in null.

  • Manage Users and -groups

    Hi all,
    I try to manage Users and -groups not with workspace administration but by HTML_UTIL. So I need to display all of the Usergroups and select mor than one group for a user and insert/edit this groups for the user.
    How can I select mor than 1 item from a LOV? and use it with HTML_UTIL.CREATE_USER and HTML_UTIL.EDIT_USER
    Thanks for yout help
    Siegwin

    Not sure if this is what you're asking, but certainly, one of the things you'd need to do is write your own PL/SQL procedure that loops through the selected rows of your UI element (whether it be a multi-select list, checkboxes or whatever) and perform the actions that you require.
    Have you attempted anything yet? What parts of this do you need help with?

  • Programmatically Delete Portal user Cache

    I'm glad with this (default) behaviour, although I would have no problems with a cascaded delete as an option.
    We use portal for our intranet site, and a default cascaded delete, would mean that if a worker leaves our company, and therefore his account would be deleted, all his contributions to the intranet would be deleted too.

  • User index not working as expected..

    Hi all,
    we have a ldap to which two instances running on two diff boxes are connected, there are approx 4000 users and all these users show up in instance one but for some strange reasons only 1000 odd users show up in instance two, ldap has been configured accordingly for maxhits....the ume index on the instance two was deleted and recreated but has not solved the prob...instance one is ep6 and instance two is ep7.0 ? can anyone who knows what might have gone wrong throw some light on this please ?
    thanks in advance,
    Anupama.

    Thanks for the reply Scott, I have just had one of those Homer Simpson Doh! moments. I was copying the code into this post and then realised that I was actually using the value of the username item that has changed in the first parameter which attempts to get the userid:
    htmldb_util.edit_user(
    p_user_id => htmldb_util.get_user_id(UPPER(:P18_USER_NAME))
    ,p_user_name => UPPER(:P18_USER_NAME)
    ,p_web_password => x_default_pw
    ,p_new_password => x_default_pw
    ,p_developer_roles => x_developer_privs
    ,p_group_ids => x_group_ids);
    and quickly realised that this would not work as it was a value that could have been modified. so I created a new hidden item to store the original and modified the call to:
    htmldb_util.edit_user(
    p_user_id => htmldb_util.get_user_id(UPPER(:P18_ORIG_USER_NAME))
    ,p_user_name => UPPER(:P18_USER_NAME)
    ,p_web_password => x_default_pw
    ,p_new_password => x_default_pw
    ,p_developer_roles => x_developer_privs
    ,p_group_ids => x_group_ids);
    and it works as expected.
    Thanks for your help.

  • Unable to edit user information from User Admin applet

    Hi
    I'm unable to  update user  information from user admin applet. After selecting a particular user, i'm updating his full name and trying to save the details. When i click on save i'm getting below error
    "Unable to execute service EDIT_USER and function addUserAttributes",(System Error: Unable to execute query 'uUsersClassifiedMarkings(UPDATE Users SET uClassifiedMarkings='No Markings'WHERE(uClassifiedMarkings is  null OR uClassifiedMarkings="))'.ORA-00904:"UCLASSIFIEDMARKINGS":invalid Identifier java.sql.SQLSyntaxException: ORA-00904:"UCLASSIFIEDMARKINGS": invalid identifier)
    Kindly let know what is issue or how to resolve this error

    Ok,lets give it a shot. Can you please check if you have any Security Classifications added by navigating to Records->Configure->Security->Security Classification
    If you do not see any entries here, then use the Add button to add the following
    - No Markings
    - Secret
    - Top Secret
    - Confidential
    Now try to update the user info using the admin applet. In the edit window assign Security Classification to "No Markings" and try submitting the update. Let us know what is the outcome.
    I completely agree with William on his analysis. Please try these steps if you are working on a Dev/POC instance.
