I got a request to upgrade to firefox 4; it is not compatible with my kaspersky and one other program. I want firefox 4.0 removed and the 3.16.7 version back on - how?
Started browser as usual.
Browser informed me that the 3.16.7 version was not secure; I should upgrade to 4.0
First problem was the kaspersky was not compatible.
Second problem was hp photo not compatible.
Third is the browser user interface is too different from expected.
Where can I get firefox 3.16.7 so I can continue the way I am used too?

How do I access websites that warn: "Firefox is NOT compatible with this application. For best performance, please use Internet Explorer 5.0 and above...."? When I try to download any alternate browser, all I get is another warning that the alternate is "not compatible with your operating system." Is Firefox preventing this? The site listed below is a job application site. I've had this same problem with other job application sites also.

The menu item name changes to the browser UA you are presently using.

You can just start trying IE versions (or the versions it says on the site) until it lets you in. -

Current Firefox versions require a Mac with an Intel processor and OS X 10.6.
Firefox 16 is the last version that runs on Intel Mac OS X 10.5.
You would have to update to OS X 10.6 to be able to use current Firefox releases.

You got it backwards, add-ons need to be compatible with Firefox, not the other way around. When Firefox is updated, the add-on needs to be updated.
The Firefox version of that toolbar, available from here - http://www.linkedin.com/static?key=browser_toolbar_download - and here - https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/linkedin-companion-for-firefox/- hasn't been updated for Firefox 5.0 yet.
You can force "compatibility" with this extension, but if that extension isn't coded correctly for Firefox 5.0, it ain't gonna fix it. <br />

Firefox 3.6.8 not compatible with new HP 4-in-1 for printing from web - any solution?
I have installed a new HP printer-copier-scanner-fax machine on a new Dell laptop (Model: Inspiron 15R, with Windows 7). This HP product (Model: CQ521A) has the capability of printing from the web. But at the time of installation I have received the warning that this device is not compatible for use with Firefox 3.6.8. Perhaps this is because Firefox 3.6.8 was developed later than this product, but does Firefox have a solution?

When Firefox asks whether you want to make it your default browser, say No. If it does anyway, the next time you start IE, IE will re-assert itself as the default browser.

"Support and upgrade utility" of Multicap/Ultiboard 9 not compatible with windows installer
Yesterday I installed Multicap 9 and Ultiboard 9 on the new computer of my collegue. We haven't got a maintenance contract. It's possible to update Multicap 9 and Ultiboard 9 once after installing it on a new computer withou a maintenance contract. First the "Support and Upgrade Utility" wants to download and install a new version (1.0.36) of itself. When this update wants to start, I got a message of the Windows Installer that the msi is incompatible with the Windows Installer. The upgrade is cancelled after this message.
I tried to solve the problem to update Windows XP Pro SP2 to SP3, but that doesn't make sense.
How can I solve this problem?
Is it possible to download the update of Multicap 9 and Ultiboad 9 without the "Support and Upgrade Utility"?

Our Kaspersky Anti-Virus is blocking Firefox 5.0 identifying it as malicious. Firefox message stated that Kaspersky URL Advisory & Kaspersky Virtual Keyboard, 11.0.2.579. If this is not resolved we will have to change to another browser quickly. Have used Firefox for many years and hate to change but will not give up any of our Kaspersky protections. So we can continue using our current Firefox version until Kaspersky's update? Or, do we need to switch to Chrome or something else. We are senior citizens and not really up to speed on all things technical. Usually get answers from, Kim Komando's site. But wanted to try working with the Firefox community first for this problem. Thanks for your advice. Just want to be sure we can continue to use our current version of Firefox and it will keep everything up and running. Also read something about a problem with gmail and want to be sure that has been completely resolved before switching to the 5.0 Firefox.

Why does it say that the updated version of Firefox (which I am trying to download) is not compatible with my operating system when I have Mac OS X 10.5.8? I had an older version of Firefox and it said I needed to update it but that was the message that appeared.
Sorry, it's because Firefox 4+ are only compiled for the Intel processors.
There is a separate project for PPC Macs called Ten Four Fox. You might give it a spin when you're tired of 3.6.

Firefox 4 is not secure; Firefox 5 is a security and stability update for Firefox 4. The only currently supported versions of Firefox are Firefox 5 and Firefox 3.6.19 (support to expire in a month or two).
As for the Google toolbar....
Google decided that they will no longer produce the Google Toolbar for Firefox beyond Firefox 4.
