X64 Adobe ANEs break when using Hide ANE-Library-Symbols
Hi all,
It looks like the x64 versions of the Product Store and Game Center ANEs are causing some kind of conflict when "Hide ANE-Library-Symbols" is turned on. It is possible other Adobe ANEs are causing issues as well but these are the other two I use.
Upon building a project that includes these ANE for iOS and using the "Hide ANE-Library-Symbols" flag, I receive the extremely generic build error below. If the "Hide ANE-Library-Symbols" flag is disabled, everything complies fine but some ANEs break during runtime due to conflicts.

Any help in resolving this issue would be appreciated as it is seems to be the last thing standing in the way of updating my iOS app to be x64 compatible.
Hi,
We are working on the issue. As of now, there is a workaround possible in packaging on mac machine as described below.
cd <sdk>/lib/aot/bin/ld64
mv ld64 ld64_orig
ln –s /usr/bin/ld ld64
<Run the packaging command now>

Crash when using Invoke Method: Library:Deploy Library
I'm trying to set a library of shared variables to deploy when a VI runs. When using the method to deploy a library, Labview will crash with no error log. I am able to use Library.Open to, for example, HiliteInProjectWindow, and Library.GetFileLVVsersion (8.6). But for the life of me I cannot get deploy to work. Any ideas?
hbcnb,
I'm not quite sure why that is happening, but I
can give you a work around for it. There is a property node that
returns the mode that LabVIEW is running in (Run-Time, Development,
Evaluation). If you output this value to a case structure, you can
include your deploy code in the run-time version but not in your
development version so that it will cease to crash. Place down the
property node, then select Application » Kind. I've included a
picture of how to wire this up. Let me know if this helps work around
the problem a bit easier.
Sincerely,
Chris G in AE

Hey guys, I use PS CS5 v 12.04 x64 on a Mac with OSX ver. 10.7.5. I have 4 GB 1333 MHz DDR3 RAM and my processor is 2.8 GHz Intel Core i7.
I usually run Chrome in the background for reference images and iTunes or Vox (a lighter music player) which is minimized.
The crashing occurs usually with the transform tool or while doing animation. This has started happening only an hour or so ago... I usually work in 300 dpi and scale down when I need to. My Mac is a bit over 2 years old but tends to heat up pretty often. Again, never reall had crashing problems before til now.
I haven't made any changes/updates lately. I would appreciate any help since I have some deadlines to meet this week

Adobe Acrobat aborts when using LiveCycle Designer PDF Preview tab.
Whenever I try to use the PDF preview tab in LiveCycle Designer, Adobe Acrobat aborts. I get the notice that "Adobe Acrobat 8.1 has encoutered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience. Yadda, yadda, yadda,....." .
The error signature is:Please increase your Buffer memeory for appalications.
Before you go for a preview. try to kill the exisitign process of adobe reader.
We need to see hte size of the XDP being generated.
If it is over 20 0r 30 MB, we may need to bring it down to 2 - 4 MB.
Again if the problem still persists, Re install the acrobat and try.
Lastly, check if the same problem happens when you use a adobe reader 8.1.3 or 9.4 (stable versions). -
How to keep display as Show when using Hide Show region with pagination?
We are trying to use a 'Hide Show' region with pagination. The problem is that if you 'Show' (ie expand) the region and then hit the link for the next page, the next page displays Hidden (ie collapsed). We want to keep the page display as 'show' when you move to the next set of records.
There is a fix in this forum for this issue in version 2.2 (Application Express) but we are on 2.0.0.00.49 (HTML DB). Does anyone know of a similar fix for HTML DB 2?
Ver 2.2 fix is at:
http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/database/application_express/packaged_apps/packaged_apps.html#STICKY
Thanks.
David.Thanks for your reply.
Running the application install script via SQL Plus using FLOWS_020000 produces result:
NOT COMPATIBLE (Your export may contain calls not supported by your HTMLDB version.)
The wwv_flow_api package routines that are not available in our version appear to be:
create_or_remove_file
create_install
create_install_script
Is there any way to handle these calls in other ways?
Thanks

Please can you explain how to add adobe flash player when using Mozilla ?
I cannot view videos without them constantly stopping.
I have been told that I need to use adobe flash player.
When I try to load this, though, the download will not work.
A message apprears to say I must turn Mozilla Firefox off.
Please can you explain how I can get around this ?
Please note, I am not very good with computers, so it would be good if you can make the instructions as basic as possible.
Many thanks !

How can you enter a line-break when using a Bluetooth Keyboard or onscreen Keyboard?
In Pages & Keynote the only way to force a line break I have found is to put your finger at the end of a line until the select/insert option appears and then selecting insert, then select line break.
This is frustratingly slow when typing a presentation or document so I bought a Logitech Ultrathin Bluetooth keyboard assuming that would have the Shift+Enter shortcut to make a line break. It doesn't, nor can I find any key combination that does, it's always a new paragraph, or nothing happens.
I have an Ipad3, IOS 6.1.3. I've spoken to Logitech support - they said talk to Apple iOS support, I spoke with a chap at IOS support who didn't know what a line break was, didn't know shift+enter on a PC made a line break so didn't understand my question and ended the call.
Anyone know how to create the shortcut as an alternative to the onscreen slow way?Yes

You can also download the remote app if you have an IOS device -
Effect of Adobe "print" settings when using PDF-Maker or printing to PDF
I have accidentally found that the fonts and ('microscopic') visual appearance of a document can change depending upon the setting of the option "Rely on system fonts only; do not use document fonts" which is accessed under Print > Properties > Adobe PDF Settings from within MS Word (2003). [Acrobat 9.1.0 Pro (trial)].
I had initially thought this was a difference between the print-to-PDF route, and the PDF-Maker route. There may be a difference, but the more important effect is the settings on the PDF printer, which you might not think to set if using the PDF-Maker. That is, the settings of the PDF printer affect the result of using the PDF-Maker.
Apparently it doesn't matter whether 'system fonts' are embedded in the document or not (for this example).
Examples follow.
—DIV
P.S. See my initial query at http://forums.adobe.com/thread/419516.I am struggling a bit to make sense out of all the files, but a general comment on the process is this. PDF Maker is basically a preprocessor for the Adobe PDF printer. The settings in the PDF Maker preferences can override the settings in the printer. What PDF Maker does is to basically create PDF Marks in the PS file that the printer creates to allow for Distiller to create bookmarks and such. For a comparison, you need to see which job settings are used in each and the options that each job settings uses. Including the system fonts in the PS does not make any difference except to make the PS file smaller. The system will go get the fonts at the time that Distiller creates the PDF (at least that is supposed to be the process). The job settings file will make a difference about whether a font will be embedded or not. As I recall, there were different fonts embedded and used in various versions of your PDFs. The fonts can be viewed with the font tab of the document properties.
This does not answer the questions, but may give you some idea about the process and what to look for as you create these files. It may be that different job settings are used and such, causing a comparison of apples and oranges. I don't have time to look further now, but that might give you some things to consider. (I may not have helped much here since my comments are apparently similar to what I said in the other post). -
Why does consecutive figure numbering break when using anchored and in-lin objects
I have an ID CC2014 document that contains graphics with figure numbers associated (using a defined paragraph style - numbered list - continue from previous) and when I place these into the flow of the document with a wrap associated to them they maintain the consecutive numbering that was set up in the figure style sheet. However when a table or graphic is placed in-line with the text (anchored graphic box or inserted table) the consecutive figure numbering doesn't continue, it restarts as #1. The next anchored or inserted item then sees this figure number and follows as if the list was restarted. What is up?
I have found that if all items are used as wrap graphics or separate text/table boxes the figure numbering functions as it should.
Is this a glitch?I had that happen a month or so ago. What I discovered was there was another numbered list setting in the anchored frames. That's what was restarting the numbers. No glitch. User error.

Snd_usb_audio does break when using a headphone
Whenever I plug in a headphone pulseaudio on KDE 4.12 works perfectly fine and I can use kmix (well...) or pavu to adjust settings just fine.
Though when playing a game with system wine 1.7.15 (but this is the same with other versions) I get crackling sound ONLY on that game. The other apps still play nicely at the same time through the same headphone.
Now checking journalctl I repeatedly get two problems with pulseaudio:
-: [alsa-sink-USB Audio] alsa-sink.c: this is probably an error in the alsa driver snd_usb_audio
and
-: arch pulseaudio[4210]: [pulseaudio] pid.c: Daemon already running.
I understand that wine (64bit by the way) still uses the alsa stuff on top of pulseaudio (which I think is annoying).
I don't understand why asla doesn't deliver the sound to pulseaudio so PA can send it out to the headphone. Why does alsa even load snd_usb_audio in the first place...
I'd really appreciate some help here.
thx for reading,
piedroI just noticed something else - When I go into the midi setup in OSX and play around with the channel 1 and 2 volumes for output I can get it to sound perfect if I mute one of the channels when plugged into headphones...

Adobe reader incompatibility when using self-printed documents on Chrome or Firefox
I would like to know whether there is a iText / Adobe compatibility issue with Firefox or Chrome. I am creating a self-printing pdf document, embedding javascript in it. This javascript is a function call that calls to a .js file located in
C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Reader 11.0\Reader\Javascripts
The think is that I can print it properly from Internet Explorer, but not Firefox nor Chrome. So I would like to know whether there is compatibility issue between this elements. I'm using the following:
Windows 7
itext 2.0.2
Firefox 19
Chrome 25
Internet explorer 9

Adobe X error when using the email button
I recieve an error stating "An error occured while sending mail"
I have set Outlook to be the deault, uninstalled Adobe X, repaired Office, etc. Nothing seems to help.
It was working untl my last update.
Any help would be great.
Windows XP SP3
Office 2003
Adobe Reader X
Thanks
DannyHi Danny,
Without knowing all the variables (recent updates, security settings, etc.) it is difficult to tell what the problem is. The best way to find out if the problem is localized to your machine is to possibly troubleshoot on another machine.
If it is localized to your machine then there have been enough changes made that it has affected how you email pdf's, and if you have already done a clean install of Adobe Reader X that would take you to the next step, to look at Outlook (besides running the repair tool). Again troubleshooting on another machine might be helpful.
The reason I impress troubleshooting is that I maintain over 70 (destop/laptop) machines that have the current version of Reader X and they run various versions of Outlook from 2003 to 2010; the only time I have run into the issue you speak of is with Outlook 2010 64 bit, which there is no current fix. I had to roll those machines back to 32bit in order for them to be able to email PDFs.
Best Regards
Jeff
