Xbox LIVE availability

I'm from the Philippines and I find it frustrating that I can't buy quality games on my Lumia 800.
My Nokia Lumia 800 feels so incomplete whenever I go to my games folder.
What are your insights on Nokia Lumia distribution and Xbox LIVE availability?
Is Microsoft even planning on making Xbox LIVE available in other countries?
Why is it that Microsoft does not implement Xbox LIVE availability on other countries where the Xbox 360/associated smartphones that are using the Windows OS are also distributed/sold?

I suggest that you start your Live profile a new. Just reset the phone to delete the current account and when given country option, select USA. Everything will be available for you. Downside: you need to reenter contacts and will lose messages, etc.

  • XBOX Live section not available under Games Menu

    Hi,
    I'm using a Nokia Lumia 800, with Vodafone Romania as mobile provider.
    When I go to Games, XBOX Live section is not available. So any games that I install and should be listed under this section cannot be accessed ( even if the installation wizard for the games completes succesfully).
    When I bought the phone I remember I unpined the XBOX Live tile from the initial screen; I dont remember hitting Uninstall..
    How can I restore XBOX Live tile/section?
    Many thanks.

  • WRT610N, Xbox Live, Moderen Warfare 2 and nothing but trouble !!

    I have been having problems over the last few months with constant drop outs on Xbox live and now specifically MW2. I have tried every option I can think of in the settings (Xbox and Linksys WRT610N) but no luck. I thought I would share my story in hope that either I might be able to help someone with what I have learned so far or get lucky that someone might offer up a solution that I have not been able to work out yet.
    Let the story begin ......
    Issue: Can connect to Xbox Live but will drop me out of the middle of games (Halo, Live Arcade, etc), and especially MW2 only to bring me back into the same game with my score set back to 0 each time. This happens on every game and every mode. If I am the host of a game then it will boot everyone else out half way through the game, bring up a message that enimies are about to forfeit and then finally rejoin everyone with their scores all set back to 0.
    Back Story:
    Have tried 3 different routers (this one being the latest) the other was a top of the line Belkin and older Linksys model
    Have power cycled and reset and restored factory defaults on all many times.
    Have changed out the actual ethanet cables as well.....No luck
    Have 2 Xbox's in the House and both produce the same results.
    My Current Settings:10N
    Product = WRT610N
    ISP = Bellsouth
    Xbox360 = Hardwired
    NAT = Open
    PPPoE
    IP and DNS are both Manual........
    Entered in matching DNS1 & DNS2 into Xbox settings
    IP = Manual and sits with DMZ enabled and assigned the Xbox a manual IP address outside Router IP range at .200
    Port Forwarding on for 88 & 53 Both (Tried UDP Only) ....53 & 3074 Both
    MTU = 1452
    Even added in specific Xbox Mac address into the Router page...no luck
    Upnp: = Disabled......Tried it enabled as well
    Went into QoS in the Application and Gaming section of the Router to try and priortize all the Xbox Live and MW2 advanced ports above and below.
    Read on a forum post to try unchecking Filter Anonymous Internet Requests in the Security tab settings....no luck
    Called Xbox Live support..............Went to 2nd level tech twice.
    They said IW/Activision had given them specific port settings for MW2 that I could try. My intial thought was Houston we might have lift off:....Tried opening additional Ports based of 2nd Level Support:
    3658 = UDP
    3478 = UDP
    3075 = UDP
    443 = TCP
    5223 =TCP
    Unfortunately no luck !
    Next I tried reading another million posts and forums to no avail.
    Help please, please please

    I finally got it to work 10 min ago !!!!!!!
    Here is the issue so if others incounter the same problem you will have some potential options to explore.
    Having 2 Xboxes going through the Linksys Router to Xbox live is the issue. This is what you need to do in your settings.
    Make both Xbox IP's Automatic
    DO NOT USE Port Forwarding.............You must enter these in Port Range Triggering:
    Xbox Live port settings 80, 88, 53 & 3074
    Same for Modern Warfare 2 ports = 3658, 3478, 3075 & 443
    On the setup page enable Keep Alive: Redial Period  = 180
    MTU = 1364
    Disable Home Network Defender
    Enable Upnp
    Disable DMZ
    QoS = Enable Internet Access Priority and Add in the ports above and set to High
    Add in the Mac addresses of the two Xboxes (you can find these in the advance network settings of you Xbox)
    Hope this helps as I have been researching this fix for 2 months and spent 20+hours playing with settings to finally get this to work

  • XBOX live and Verizon FIOS clearing things up a bit here

    Interested? Call now to add an Xbox to your current service. Or, if you’re a new customer, you can sign up online here and take advantage of a special offer that includes triple-play service with FiOS TV, FiOS 35/35 Mbps Internet service and Verizon voice service, starting at $89.99 a month. The offer also includes a 12-month Xbox LIVE Gold Membership and the “Xbox Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary” game. Order now – the special offer is only available through Jan. 21.
    The FiOS TV app will become available for download next month.  We’ll be launching the service with 26 channels and we plan to add more.
    ok they aren't adding your xbox to your current service....New customer's are going to be able to take advantage of that new promo "a special offer that includes triple-play service with FiOS TV, FiOS 35/35 Mbps Internet service and Verizon voice service, starting at $89.99 a month.The offer also includes a 12-month Xbox LIVE Gold Membership and the “Xbox Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary” game. I believe this is online ordering only try to order it online instead of calling in as that is where I personally have been advised
    FiOS TV customers will have access to an app on their Xbox consoles, which will become available for download next month. Once customers download the Verizon FiOS TV app on their console, they can begin watching live streaming FiOS TV channels - without the need to pay for another set-top box. Customers must subscribe to both FiOS TV and Internet services.
    Initially, 26 FiOS TV channels will be available, depending on the customer's TV package
    Customers who order FiOS TV and Internet service will receive the "Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary" game and Xbox LIVE Gold Membership token within 30 days
    I hope that breaks it down a little bit for everyone

    I am trying gettin additional information regarding how the app is going to work and how it applies to your TV service as to what channels you will have..I'm sure that information will be available a few days before the app is released.
    Ultimate Bundles will have 35/35 and 26 channels on the App

  • Instablity on Xbox live

    I have been on BT homehub for the last12 months witha 1.2mb connection,recently i havehad major issues with online gaming.I can connect to live fine and i have never had any NAT problems.I can play games for 2-3 hours fine then all of a sudden i experience MAJOR lag issues.
    I have to reset the hub at least 2-3 times and turn on and off xbox live application sharing till i get a stable connection for playing games?
    My question is can i set up the router settings in anyway to stop me constantly reseting? has anyone else experienced this?
    At the moment i play Bc2 and Black ops,but i never really had this issue with MW2.
    At all times my laptop/pc connections are fine and stable and rarely cause me any issues,and for gaming my upload/download is capped on each other device toensure i have the nessecary bandwidth available.
    any help welcomed

  • Excessive Lag on Xbox Live, other Services ok. Fa...

    Hi, hope you can help.
    Since swtiching from TalkTalk at the end of February we;ve been getting an unusual and frustrating amount of lag on Xbox live during multi-player, and some PC Games.  The overall broadband speed is the same as it was before with Talk Talk and I've tried our old Netgear router, portforwarding in the HomeHub 3 to the Xbox directly etc but no improvement. (Made sure we had open NAT etc)
    It can be incredibly frustrating.  We're used to occasional lag as it is 'the internet' but this is not the same but hard to describe!  We'd not had any problems with Talk Talk but due to the pretty low speeds available in our area we'd signed up for Infinity as soon as it said we could get it.... turned out the availability was 'in error' on the website/order system (the Infinity order was all through and we had an install date etc) , we'd already left Talk Talk in preparation and had no broadband so signed up for BT Broadband while we waited for Infinity to actually be available...  All in all, Whta was supposed to be a positive move has left us with a worse connection for the things that are important to the family
    Anyway Hope this is ok to do a new post, wasn't sure whether to tag it onto one of the others, but they are getting pretty long.
    We are on 'interleaved' at the moment, can the mods help us get switched to Fastpath to see if that improves it?
    Posting stats, managed to keep the router on without a reset for 23 days now that we realise a reset doesn't fix anything!

    nice stable connection so contact the mods and ask to be moved from interleaved to fast
    contact mods
    can take up to 5/6 working days for mods to contact you

  • WRT610N with 4 xbox 360s accessing Xbox live...Assistance Please

    I have a DCHP connection to the ISP Comcast. 25mbsp download speed (fat pipe) I live with four roommates and we all have xbox 360s 2 wired and 2wireless and 3 wireless PCs and 1 wired pcs .The PCs I am ok with setting up.
    I was about to tackle this when I started going through the settings for this router (feature rich comes to mind).
    I have some questions with some of these features so I can get  all four xbox360s connected to xbox live with out getting kicked out or game lag. We have experienced this with our old Belkin.
    Single port forwarding, port range forwarding, port range triggering and of course the DMZ are all available for this router and I am requesting some guidance as to set this up.
    Should I set up Static IPs for all the xboxes and forward the ports TCP 80; UDP 88; UDP 3074; TCP 3074; UDP 53; TCP 5 to each static IP? Can this router handle opening ports for multiple static IP's? Can I combine single port forwarding with port range forwarding? Should I combine both with setting up Port Range Triggering?
    I read through the manual but still am a little perplexed...
    Noob needs some guidance
    thank you

    Thank you for replying and for the solution. I will try it tonite and actually in the link you sent the tech stated:
    "These settings will work even if you have one or multiple consoles running behind the router"
    So I will be trying this for all four xbox 360 and I will let you know how it goes.
    cheers

  • Xbox Live wont connect

    Hey Guys wondering if you could help me.
    So basically the problem is when I connect to xbox live or the black ops 2 server from my Xbox everything on my network just lags and is unusable, even the game itself.
    Normally my connection is fine but today I boot my Xbox and then started to browse on my pc loading a few web pages like I normally do, The web pages failed to load. If I managed to get into a game on black ops I would just lag all over the place.
    I'm connected by Ethernet by the way.
    Now I have a ps3 with black ops 2 as well and it worked 100% fine when I played it. So I'm kinda confused. I'm sat now with it on connected to Xbox live and just sitting there with the dashboard up, So I'm guessing the problem starts happening when I connect to the multi-player servers.
    I've reset the router change some cables around, still nothing seems to fix it.
    I'm hoping this is just a 1 day thing.
    Any in put is great ...
    Thanks in advance.

    If you are getting amber light on bb connection try disabling the internet phone number bt give you and set for use by default. I think it starts with 05******. This is done by entering the router homepage and disconnecting the number, you will then be using your normal tel number line. I had same issue some time ago and did this to solve it. Bt help were useless.
    Also how far are you from exchange? Fibre or copper/aluminium? All these factors can affect lag. Time of day is also an issue as during peak times when everybody on net will lower available bandwidth per household.

  • Xbox Live on Lumia 800?

    I have a Lumia 800 and didn't came with Xbox Live on it. Maybe some country/region stuff in which I understand is Xbox Live is not available in the Philippines. Instead I have the "Games Hub" where all my downloaded games can be found.
    Recently. A bunch of Xbox Live games became available in the market. And I tried downloading one that is free. The "Flowers Game". When I downloaded it. I cant seem to find it anywhere on my phone. Is it because I dont have Xbox Live? How do I install Xbox Live or resolve this in another way?
    Thanks.

    User error on my part...
    I'm happy to report all functions of the MM450 are working beautifully with my Lumia 800 (e.g. full zune control, making/recieving calls).  The two devices are a match made in heaven.
    Cheers...

    has a solution for this issue been posted.  I am having the same issue, well in fact our whole company is experiencing this issue as the rollout of Office365 moves forward and everyone's productivity just stepped back in time.  i spend hours
    every week trying to figuire out a way around this saga.
    My only solution I have discovered is to deliver all my email fromt he cloud back to my hard drive using a PST.  I know their is an OST which resides on the hard drive but for some reason the OST that was created when we had the conventional Exchange
    Server setup and managed inside our network worked perfectly.   But the OST under this Office365 setup seems to act like the old IMAP mess when you attempted to deliver hotmail to Outlook usign the Outlook Connector pluggin.
    The connection to Hotmail worked perfectly but searches never worked and unreliable.
    So I think before the Board approves that 80+ million dollar salary for new guy on top; they set aside some of those funds and start paying everyone for their time lost in productivity due to broken software.   In fact I think if the pay was
    tied to these issues, and that balance dropped daily, these issues would rise to the top of the list and bring microsoft out of its current slump and make it the company it once was when Mr Gates was running the show and inspecting code himself when applications
    were changed.
    I noticed you mention Google Desktop for search... i have an old setup program from the days when it was available for download but have been unsuccesful getting it installed on a windows 7 desktop.  I am curious how your using it and or made it work...
    please respond because i surely would like to put this in place until they figure out how to get all these cloud services to work.  thanks!  Russ

  • Update XBOX Live Contract payment method through Best Buy

    I have XBOX Live Gold Membership I bought on contract through Best Buy when I bought my XBOX console. I no longer can use my console because I get a message that states my payments are not up to date. I need to update my payment method for the membership. I had done so on my XBOX account to no avail. XBOX says I need to update it through Best Buy because theat is where I bought it. I called Best Buy and was told that everything is fine and payments are being made. Maddening. How do I resolve?

    Hi mjabja,
    Not being able to access Xbox Live would certainly make playing online difficult, let alone accessing your Gold membership benefits. I'd be frustrated too if I found myself in a similar situation.
    Because the Xbox 360 Entertainment for All plan is administered and billed by Microsoft, Best Buy is not able to make any modifications to your subscription or update your method of payment -- we do not have visibility or direct access to these records. Full details on the program and billing FAQs can also be found here. The best advice I can give would be to follow up with Microsoft using one of the contact methods listed on that page to see what options might be available.
    Let us know if you have any other questions.

  • Xbox live issues. (please help) :)

    Hi there, I am having trouble with my xbox live connection, I can sign in to XBL but it does take a few minutes to sign me in, Also when I play games (I mainly always play FIFA) There is a slight lag when im in a match with someone, My players not responding when pressing buttons, Like when I shoot it will take a second or two to shoot which is not normal.
    I previously had connection issues and had to have an engineer fix something in my line, Which seemingly has worked perfect for my laptop as everything seems fine, I can load webpages fine with no trouble and speedtester results are as expected. So it may be down to something to do with my XBOX, I use a wireless connection as it is upstairs, but I have tried wired and it is still slow.

  • I have a airport apple router for my xbox live but and on my xbox live my NAT type is 'strict' how do i change it to 'open'

    help

    Unfortunately, the AirPorts are not listed as Xbox Live-compatible routers ... so there is no guarantee doing this will get Open NAT status for Xbox Live!
    The following web blog does a great job explaining the NAT issues with Xbox Live! Basically what it comes down to is that although you can get an Internet connection for the Xbox with the AirPorts, you may not get the necessary NAT setting (Moderate or Open) for the Xbox Live! on-line game that you want to play. As such, you basically have two options: 1) Create a DMZ (Apple calls this a Default Host) for the XBox or 2) Configure the AirPort for Port mapping to open the required ports to allow Xbox Live! access ... or 3) Use a compatible router.
    Option 1 - Create a DMZ
    AirPort Utility > Select the AEBSn > Manual Setup > Internet > NAT
    Enable default host at: <Enter the IP Address for the XBox>
    Option 2 - Configure Port Mapping
    The following ports must be available for Xbox Live to operate correctly:
    UDP 88
    UDP 3074
    TCP 3074
    To setup port mapping on an 802.11n AirPort Extreme Base Station (AEBSn), either connect to the AEBSn's wireless network or temporarily connect directly, using an Ethernet cable, to one of the LAN port of the AEBSn, and then use the AirPort Utility, in Manual Setup, to make these settings:
    1. Reserve a DHCP-provided IP address for the Xbox 360.
    AirPort Utility > Select the AEBSn > Manual Setup > Internet > DHCP tab
    Click the "+" (Add) button to enter DHCP Reservations.
    Description: <enter the desired description of the host device>
    Reserve address by: MAC Address
    Click Continue.
    MAC Address: <Enter the MAC hardware address of the Xbox or the MAC address of the wireless depending on how you connect the XBox to the network.>
    IPv4 Address: <enter the desired Private IP address>
    Click Done.
    2. Setup Port Mapping on the AEBSn.
    AirPort Utility > Select the AEBSn > Manual Setup > Internet > NAT > Configure Port Mappings
    Click the "+" (Add) button
    Service: <choose the appropriate service from the Service pop-up menu>
    Public UDP Port(s): 88, 3074
    Public TCP Port(s): 3074
    Private IP Address: <enter the DHCP Reserved IP address for the Xbox you created earlier>
    Private UDP Port(s): 88, 3074
    Private TCP Port(s): 3074

  • Upgraded to extreme and can no longer connect to xbox live

    My old airport express died so yesterday I bought an airport extreme to replace it. I had no problems setting it up, my powerbook and powermac connect to the internet just fine. My ps3, wii, and apple tv all connect fine. However I lost the ability to connect to xbox live with my xbox360. Running the "Test Xbox Live Connection" test shows that it passes all the tests and is connected to the internet until it reaches the xbox live test where it fails. According to xbox support there are no current outages or problems with my account.
    Since the only thing which has recently changed is the upgrade from airport express to an extreme it seems like that is likely the problem. I thought it might be a NAT or port thing but in the airport setup utility there are no options for changing either NAT or port settings.
    Any ideas anyone? It looks like a year ago when the extreme came out there were problems between it and the xbox, but it also looks like they were resolved. Also they caused the xbox not to be able to connect to the network at all, which mine can do.
    Thanks very much for any ideas or help. Otherwise the extreme is going to have to go back.

    That's a drag.
    I wish I could be more help, but I can not think of what the problem would be. I have mine connected to a network that bridges two AEBS to allow for a large area WIFI. I have no problems with either of the 360's connected. I have no special port forwarding or any settings changed to get the connection.
    I also know that since I just replaced my main base station for an unrelated problem, that it worked out of the box both times.
    I would say try direct connecting it. (the xbox) Not necessarily to correct the problem, but to isolate the AEBS as the problem. I would also try shutting down anything else that may be connecting so you only have a connection with your xbox. Again, none of this will probably solve your issue.... but you can get in contact with customer care or visit a genius bar.
    In my experience if you can give detailed results to test you have already performed to trouble shoot, they are very receptive to replacing your product. Isolating the AEBS and saying you know t will connect direct, and that even when it is the only device connected.... it fails. I would also try both wireless and wired if you have both options.
    I know it is not the optimal answer.... probably a pain.... but sometimes things just work kinda goofy. I know the stuff works and works great when it does... but I have had my share of issues with apple hardware. The good news is they have never failed me when it comes to taking care of it.
    Good Luck !!!
