XI calling WS via SOAP Adapter

Hello,
does anyone have a working scenario where XI 2.0 calls a WS via the SOAP Adapter?
Could you please post the config file and please let me know what you use on the inbound XI side
Thanks
Stefan

Hi
We do not require any acknowledgements. But for the cases where the soap call is delivered, but returns a http response of 500 together with a complete soap envelope containing a soap fault, the Soap Axis Receiver Adapter is issuing an u201CApplicationErroru201D Acknowledgement Message (referring to the original request message) (even though it is not requested). This Acknowledgement Message is failing on the Integration Server with a configException u201CFailed to determine a receiver agreement for the given messageu201D. We have tried to create a receiver agreement and reciever channel with the given keys from the error message, but still getting the same result.
Issue A: How to get this (non-requested) Acknowledge message to process without error.
Issue B: How to get a proper u201Cerror-messageu201D telling that the original request message was not really delivered though (as the soap call gets a http response of 500).

  • Error while invoking the ABAP Proxy via SOAP Adapter

    Hi,
My scenario involves SOAP Client invoking a webservice hosted in PI which in turn invokes the ABAP Proxy asyncronously.
SOAP Client -> PI -> ECC (ABAP Proxy) . This works fine.
Next , I have exposed the ECC Service Interface as webservice using SOA Manager transaction. Now, once the service is created using SOAManager, i replaced the XI Adapter with SOAP Adapter and provided the target URL as the URL provided by the SOAManager.
SOAP Client -> PI -> ECC (ABAP Proxy via SOAP Adapter)
With this approach, i am encountering the below error message
2009-05-29 12:17:55 Error Adapter Framework caught exception: null
2009-05-29 12:17:55 Error Delivering the message to the application using connection SOAP_http://sap.com/xi/XI/System failed, due to: com.sap.engine.interfaces.messaging.api.exception.MessagingException.
Any ideas on the above errror message? Any pointers or inputs will be appreciated.
    Thanks,

This is a generic error message which does not have any information about the error which has occurred.
Do you see any error messages in the SOAP client?

  • How to receive acknowledgement from Vendor via SOAP adapter.

Hello Experts, my outbound scenerio is R3>PI->Vendor via the URL given by vendor. From PI i'm sending my POs via SOAP adapter and in the conversion parameters I choose the check box "Do not Use SOAP Envelope" My message reached the vendor. Now vendor sends back a functional acknowledgement indicating the message had been received and processed. Below is the entire XML file content.
    <MessageAcknowledgment>
        <AckLocation>Medical</AckLocation>
        <AckRefNum>98712345</AckRefNum>
        <AckNote>200-Accepted</AckNote>
    </MessageAcknowledgment>
Can anyone let me know how to receive the above message? What setup do i need to do?

    >>> Can anyone let me know how to receive the above message? What setup do i need to do?
Solution: You need to create a synchronous scenario.
Might be at R3 side proxy  sender  and vendor side Reciever Soap
    Basically PROXY <------> SOAP
Map the proxy request message to soap(vendor) request message  as REQUEST MAPPING
    and
Map the SOAP (Vendor) response message to proxy response as RESPONSE MAPPING
and in the backend parse the response.
If you need more details, Please let us know.

  • How to call webservice via SOAP on WebAS 620

    Hi,
I am working on WebAS 620 and want to call from ABAP side a Webservice via SOAP.
The webservice belongs to a third party tool and is placed on a different server.
This webservice is pretty easy (2 import parameters and 1 export).
Unfortunately it seems to me that the SOAP framework does not support such calls. It just supports calls of RFC enabled function modules. This is not what I want.
Do you know if this is possible and how I can do it?

  • How to make call to Sender Soap Adapter using HTTPS with Client Aut

Hello everyone, I have spent some time trying to get this to work. We downloaded a trail certificate from SAP and installed it on our machine and I created a webservice that works great. I tested the HTTPS without client authentification and it works great, as soon as I change it to use with Client Authentification I can't get it to go through. I am using Soap Sonar to test the certificates. To get the certificate I called the url with firefox then saved the certificate in my trust store, from there I import it to soap sonar as a signed certificate, but I am getting the error  <Exception>Object contains only the public half of a key pair. A private key must also be provided.</Exception>  I assume I am doing something way wrong, is there a way to get the certificate with both public and private key pair, or a way to test this that I can't seem to find in documentation or blogs?
    I def award points

  • Error calling BAPI_ADDRESSEMP_CREATE via SOAP

    Hi,
I'm calling the remote-enabled function module (from Adobe Flex) via SOAP and its erroring and not returning anything. If I debug it, it gets as far as the statement below (in the function module HR_MAINTAIN_MASTERDATA) then just stops.
CALL DIALOG 'HR_MAINTAIN_MASTER_DATA' USING BDCDATA MODE 'N'
I know mode N is no-display, so why should this error? I know its coming into SAP via the ICM (over http) so there's no gui, but do we need a gui? I've seen remote-enabled function modules in the past that contained call transactions, and they worked fine!.
    Points awarded for help
    Graham

I've been doing some more digging.
Basically, the BAPI is simulating the infotype 0006 screen to put data in, but any error message or unexpected screens that comes up will cause the BAPI to fail. The BAPI doesn't do much validation before passing the data to the screens, it just checks that you've locked the employee record (and maybe does some other checks as well like authorisations).
This means that you have to check your data in the call.
Here are some things that I found to check
1: Make sure that the start date, end date and subtype are supplied and are in the correct format (you can do this by placing an external breakpoint in the BAPI and checking it from here).
2: Make sure all mandatory fields are specified.
3: Make sure that there aren't any dynamic actions set up on infotype 0006 that could display other screens. Dynamic actions are normally ignore in batch input mode, but since the BAPI is doing a CALL DIALOG and not a CALL TRANSACTION, the field sy-binpt is not set to 'X'. One way round this is to create a z-function module which sets sy-binpt to X and then calls the BAPI.
    Any other suggestions welcome

  • Sending Attachments via SOAP Adapter

    Hi Everyone,
We have the requirement to send the text files as attachement using SOAP Adapter. Can anyone help me how to do it in XI and the structure of WSDL. Or any document which can help me getting this done.
    Any help appreciated.
    Thanks in advance
    Laks

I understand i need to add teh WSDL file in the repository .
Yes, it would be like any other soap receiver scenario wherein you need to import the wsdl under external definitions.
Like it should be cabable of receiving as attachments ?
Yes, it should be. This will help in creating one.
    /people/baris.buyuktanir2/blog/2007/03/06/how-to-create-a-web-service-with-attachments-soap-with-attachments
Is there anything i need to do in Repository part ? If your sender sends the file as attachment using the option "Addition files", then the message will be forwarded directly with attachment to soap receiver. There would be no need for any additional setting in repository.

  • Calling XI's SOAP Adapter from Webdynpro for java

    Hello every one,
I have implemented a webservice scenario which involves soap message exchange,,I have checked the configuration from configuration tool -- it seems fine there -- than we had a check run from XML spy, using the WSDL generated by XI,,, that went through as well,, but now when I am trying to call the webservice through webservice adaptive model in NWDS, it returns :
    <!--  Receiver Identification
      -->
    - <SAP:Error xmlns:SAP="http://sap.com/xi/XI/Message/30" xmlns:SOAP="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" SOAP:mustUnderstand="1">

      <SAP:Stack>No receiver could be determined</SAP:Stack>
      <SAP:Retry>N</SAP:Retry>
      </SAP:Error>
this is the response message generated and viewed in SXMB_MONI
Now I cannot understand why its prompting error from application and not XML Spy,,
I am using following url to send msg to XI's SOAP sender adapter:

    Dear Nicholas,
When portal server is installed, it assigns a specific port for running the portal. Normally the port is 500XX when xx is your instance number. There seems to be some problem in your case.
Please carry out following steps to see/resolve the issue:
    1. Open the visual administrator
    2. Navigate to  Dispatcher -> Services -> HTTP Provider
This HTTP Provider specifies the ports used by portal.
You change the ports to something like : (Port:80,Type:http)(Port:443,Type:ssl)
Save your settings and now open the browser and open the portal like http://<host>/irj/portal (because 80 is default port). If you specify some other port you need to enter like http://<host>:<port>/irj/portal
    This should resolve your issue:
    Enjoy
    Best Regards,
    Ravi

  • Call SOAP Adapter from CE BPM failed

    Hi everyone,
i have just a problem calling a webservic on the PI 7.11 server from CE 7.2 BPM via SOAP adapter.
    1. I've created a very simple scenario on the PI 7.11 Server using SOAP Adapter sender. I've gotten the WSDL URL from the Sender Agreement. It is like the following:
    http://piserver:50000/dir/wsdl?p=sa/2e1cf474911939c89c0f5530b24c36f0
    2. In the Service Registery of the CE server, I published this service manuelly. The SR created automactically endpoints (http, https) for me. I tested both. They worked very well. While publishing the service, I've also assigned it to the correct system, which has the type IS.
    3. I've imported the wsdl into my BPM and assigned it to a automatic activity. I've also created a new service group for this service interface.
    4. After deploying the BPM onto the CE server, I've created a new provider system with type IS. In the WS connectivity type, I entered the wsdl url from above again and the admin user on PI server for the Metadata User.
    5. I've created a user in the "User Account Management" with connectivity type WS and entered the same user on the step 4 for the Metadata User, assigned this user to the provider system created on step 4.
    6. In the "Application Communication", I assigned the provider system from step 4 to the serivce group created on the step 3.
    7. Start the BPM and find out a very strange error message:
    Error during SCA Processing
    [EXCEPTION]
java.rmi.RemoteException: Could not process message for operation SI_SearchSalesOrder_outbound in web service plugin module.; nested exception is:
com.sap.engine.services.webservices.espbase.client.bindings.exceptions.TransportBindingException: Invalid Response code (401). Server <http://piserver:50000/XISOAPAdapter/MessageServlet?senderParty=&senderService=SAP_CE&receiverParty=&receiverService=&interface=SI_SearchSalesOrder_outbound&interfaceNamespace=http%3A%2F%2Fconet.de%2FSalesOrder> returned message <Unauthorized>. Http proxy info:  none
I suppose that the metadata user is used to read the wsdl information form PI. For runtime processing maybe should also I provide a user. But I have no idea where I can configure the runtime user in the NWA.
Could some one give me some help on this position?
    Thanks a lot in advance.
    with best regards
    Xiang

    Hi Michal,
thanks a lot for your answer. That's also my question. I've provided user to get the meta info for the WS on the CE server. But during the runtime, the BPM on the CE should also have a user to call the soap adapter. Normally we can add the sap-user, sap-pass behind the ws endpoint. But it doesn't work on the CE. Maybe I should use the principle propagation.
thanks a lot for your reply.
    with best regards.

  • Connection from DP to SAP PI 7.11 via SOAP/https failed

    Hello Guys,
we have a problem with connection from DP to SAP PI via SOAP/https.
DP send a request and get a timeout. timeout is 2 or 3 minutes.
DP and SAP PI authentificated with certificates.
    Our Problems:
    DP get now failure code
in commnication channel monitoring in RWB from SAP PI I see no entry, no error
in java default trace I see no error.
What could be the Problem? What must we configure for https communication via SOAP Adapter?
Which Log get me some information?
    Thanks and regards
    Martin

    Hi Neetesh,
I have check all, but it resolved not my problem.
I will describe my scenario again:
    scenario:
syncronous request from system A over DataPower ->SAP PI to SAP system.
communication DataPower to PI: SOAP over https
DataPower located in other network zone.
    port is activated in firewall.
    called URL from DataPower:
    https://<host>:5<instance number>01/XISOAPAdapter/MessageServlet?
    channel=:<business system>:<interface>
    Problem:
authentication looks like ok. No error in ICM Trace, in default java
trace login from DataPower IP-adress ok.
but no message is to see in the communication channel.
no message in the adapter engine, no message in the integration engine
DataPower get a timeout. (Timeout 2  minutes)
we find no error, but also no message
What could be the error? And where find I some information in SAP PI.
    Thanks and regards

  • SMIME in sender soap adapter

    Hi,
I'd like to know the proper format of the POST request to a sender soap adapter with SMIME activated. I've found almost no documentation about it.
I'm trying to send a document ciphered to PI via soap adapter (HTTP POST). I've done the following steps
    1. I activate SMIME in the sender soap adapter, and I specify "Decrypt" as the security procedure in the sender agreement. I also incorporate the private key in the keystore DEFAULT and reference to it in the sender agreement.
    2. I use OpenSSL to cipher an xml document like this (I use the public certificate associated to the previous private key) :
    --> openssl smime -encrypt -in fich.txt -out fich_encrypted.txt certTesting.pem
    What I get is:
    MIME-Version: 1.0
    Content-Disposition: attachment; filename="smime.p7m"
    Content-Type: application/x-pkcs7-mime; smime-type=enveloped-data; name="smime.p7m"
    Content-Transfer-Encoding: base64
MIIC....[base64 content of the file encrypted]
    3. I use CURL to send the HTTP POST request to PI. Previously I get the binary file from the base64 content.
    > POST /XISOAPAdapter/MessageServlet?senderParty=&senderService=BC_1[...]
    > Authorization: Basic c2U[...]
    > Host: pi.[...].com:50000
    > Accept: /
    > Content-Type: application/pkcs7-mime; smime-type=enveloped-data; name=fich_encrypted.der
    > User-Agent: Jakarta Commons-HttpClient/3.1
    > Accept-Encoding: text/xml
    > Content-Disposition: attachment; filename=fich_encrypted.der
    > Content-Length: 620
    > Expect: 100-continue
but I get this error from the SOAP Adapter:
--> java.io.IOException: invalid content type for SOAP: APPLICATION/PKCS7-MIME.
I also get the same error if I remove the header Content-Disposition.
    4. If I send the xml file without ciphering (header Content-Type: text/xml;charset=UTF-8) I get the error:
com.sap.engine.interfaces.messaging.api.exception.MessagingException: SOAP: call failed: java.lang.SecurityException: Exception in Method: VerifySMIME.run(). LocalizedMessage: SecurityException in method: verifySMIME( MessageContext, CPALookupObject ). Message: IllegalArgumentException in method: verifyEnvelopedData( ISsfProfile ). Wrong Content-Type: text/xml;charset=UTF-8. *Expected Content-Type: application/pkcs7-mime or application/x-pkcs7-mime*. Please verify your configuration and partner agreement
PROBLEM --> I really don't know what the SOAP sender channel is expecting when SMIME is activated. I've tried to send the binary file encripted as an attachment and also directly, but the soap adapter complains.
    Thanks

  • Is there a way to see the string returned by SOAP adapter at the Reciever

    Hello Friends
I have a scenario as follows
    Sender:        Outside Client   -
    >>  Soap Adapter   -
    >XI   --->   RFC Adapter   ---> ZBAPI.
The outside client sends an id to search through XI using SOAP adapter which inturn calls a ZBAPI
to look for the record in the table and sends the found record back to XI and from there to the outside client via SOAP adapter.
I have made sure that the ZBAPI is being contacted successfully.
However, the return data is not coming to the client.
Is there a way to findout what xml string is being received at the receiver SOAP adapter.
I have checked the zbapi, mapping etc., and everything is ok.
Any suggestion or feedback will be highly appreciated.
    Thanks
    Ram

You should be able to see the Request and the response in SXMB_MONI.
Just make sure that synch logging is turned on in MONI. Add the entry LOGGING_SYNC with value as 1 in SXMB_ADM --> Integartion Engine Configuration.

  • SOAP adapter Using XI 3.0 error: invalid content type for SOAP: TEXT/HTML

    Hi All,
I have the scenario to send a message to proxy via SOAP adapter . My PI server is 7.3 and my BI application server also 7.3. I have created service interface in the ESR and created the ABAP proxy in the Application server. Im using the receiver SOAP adapter with message protocol as XI 3.0. Am running this scenario in the central adapter engine. (That is i didnt create integrated configuration). I am facing the issue in the receiver SOAP channel as 'invalid content type for SOAP: TEXT/HTML: 401 Unauthorized'. But i can able to login into the URL which is given in the channel using the username and password used in the channel.
Can you please let me know if any addtional settings need to be done in PI side.
    Regards,
    Ramalakshmi.G

    Hi,
Thanks for your reply. I have done my scenario with the integration configuration. Still i am facing the same issue " SOAP: TEXT/HTML; HTTP 401 Unauthorized". I have given the correct URL, username and password. Is this enough to connect to the receiver integration server from AE. Any settings need to be do in the receiver ABAP system and PI system. If so please share the corressponding note for the same.  What should be the role is assigned to the userid given in the channel.
I have used sproxy to create the proxy in the receiver ABAP system. In PI i am using the SOAP adapter with XI 3.0 ,message protocol to call to this proxy. I have not done any settings in any of the servers. Do i need to do any settings.

  • Certificate based authentication with sender SOAP adapter. Please help!

    Hi Experts,
I have a scenario where first a .Net application makes a webservice call to XI via SOAP Adapter. Then the input from the .Net application is sent to the R/3 system via RFC adapter.
    .Net --->SOAP -
    >XI -
    >RFC -
    R/3 System
Now as per client requirement I have to implement certificate based authentication in the sender side for the webservice call. In this case the .Net application is the "client" and XI is the "server". In other words the client has to be authenticated by XI server. In order to accomplish this I have setup the security level in the SOAP sender channel as "HTTPS  with client authentication". Additionally I have assigned a .Net userid in the sender agreement under "Assigned users" tab.
I have also installed the SSL certificate in the client side. Then generated the public key and loaded it into the XI server's keystore.
When I test the webservice via SOAPUI tool I am always getting the "401 Unauthorized" error. However if I give the userid/password for XI login in the properties option in the SOAPUI tool then it works fine. But my understanding is that in certificate based authentication, the authentication should happen based on the certificate and hence there is no need for the user to enter userid/password. Is my understanding correct? How to exactly test  certificate based authentication?
Am I missing any steps for certificate based authentication?
    Please help
    Thanks
    Gopal
Edited by: gopalkrishna baliga on Feb 5, 2008 10:51 AM

    Hi!
Although soapUI is a very goot SOAP testing tool, you can't test certificate based authentication with it. There is no way (since I know) how to import certificat into soapUI.
So, try to find other tool, which can use certificates or tey it directly with the sender system.

  • Not able to see Message Content while using SOAP Adapter

    Hi freinds
I am working on following scenario
Web Application ---> SOAP Adapter ---> XI ---> RFC Adapter ---> SAP R/3
Web application is using the WSDL file which I generated from XI.
Now everything is going fine & I am even getting the XML data in SAP R/3 ( Order is getting created ) but in RWB under message monitoring I am getting " <b>Content of message deleted to save memory</b> " for message content.
Even in SXMB_MONI for that timeframe it is showing " <b>No messages available for selection</b> ".
Can you tell me why I am not getting the message content & the message itelf in SXMB_MONI. What I need to do in order to get the message content while monitoring.

As my payload was of 100 records with 15 fields I guessed that this can be the reason I am getting timed out. So next time I just send 2 records & this time no error & everything went fine.
Now one thing I need to do is to increase the TIMEOUT value with the help of <b>OSS Note 824554</b>.
But still in RWB ( with 2 records also ) under message monitoring I am getting " <b>Content of message deleted to save memory</b> " for message content.
My objective now, is to display the payload which is coming from Web Application via SOAP Adapter in RWB. Can you help me in this.
