Xilinx tools compile error when translating
Hello guys!
I have a trouble with compiling a code from article DSA Module Synchronization Reference Design for Multiple cRIO Chassis. The target system is cRIO 9024 with 9118 chassis, 9225 and 9227 AI modules in slot 2,3 and 9401 DIO module in slot 4. The compilation preparation works well, configuration too. When it comes to translating process, xilinx sends an error. I have attached xilinx log with error codes.
If you have any idea, I'd be glad to hear it.

Hi,
This is quite a log file that you have attached. Let's take a step back first, to try to eliminate some possible sources of the issue. Please provide information on your development system. (e.g. LabVIEW version, FPGA version, NI RIO version, version of Xilinx Tools) Also, are you able to successfully compile and run a blank VI and / or other LabVIEW FPGA example code on the 9024 / 9118? Finally, I see that you attached the error log, but what particular error message or code do you receive during the translating process?

Getting Compilation error when used SET or MULTISET operator on nested tabl
Dear All,
I am getting Compilation error when used SET or MULTISET operator on nested tables inside a procedure.
This is working fine in other DB installations of 10g but does not work in another 10g DB.
it says "wrong number of parameter or datatype used in SET"
Can any one suggest what went wrong here?
Thanks in advance.Can any one suggest what went wrong here?Only if you would post the query and Oracle versions on both databases.
Besides, this forum deals with issues in Oracle product installation. So post this query in SQL PL/SQL forum for better response. -

Thanks in advance.Hi,
Thanks for ur reply...
Since MULTISET and SET operators are the new additions in base 10g release for manipulation of nested tables data, I am surprised that same is working in similar 5 DBs installations with 10.2.0.1.0 version, but does not work in the sixth.
SET and MULTISET operators are used inside the PL/SQL procedure which is getting compiled in the above mentioned 5 DBs but not in sixth DB.
it gives
On line: 3112
PLS-00306: wrong number or types of arguments in call to 'SET'
Hope this clarifies the issue... -
Compiler error when useing switch statements in an inner class
I have defined several constants in a class and want to use this constans also in an inner class.
All the constants are defined as private static final int.
All works fine except when useing the switch statement in the inner class. I get the compiler error ""constant expression required". If I change the definition from private static final to protected static final it works, but why?
What's the difference?
Look at an example:
public class Switchtest
private static final int AA = 0;
protected static final int BB = 1;
private static int i = 0;
public Switchtest()
i = 0; // <- OK
switch(i)
case AA: break; //<- OK, funny no problem
case BB: break; //<- OK
default: break;
private class InnerClass
public InnerClass()
i = 0; // <- OK: is accessible
if (AA == i) // <- OK: AA is seen by the inner class; i is also accessible
i = AA + 1;
switch(i)
case AA: break; // <- STRANGE?! Fail: Constant expression required
case BB: break; // <- OK
default: break;
}Thank's a lot for an explanation.Just a though:
Maybe some subclass of Switchtest could decalare its own variable AA that is not final, but it can not declare its own BB because it is visible from the superclass. Therefore the compiler can not know for sure that AA is final. -
No compiler error when assigning null to a primitive with ? :
In 5.0, the statement
int a = true ? null : 0;
does not produce a compiler error. In 1.4 it produced an error stating "Incompatible conditional operand types int and null". I understand that auto-boxing complicates the compiler's job here, but isn't it still possible for the compiler to error on this statement?That's perfectly legit in 1.5 because of autoboxing.
The compiler looks at the expression
true?null:0and needs to determine the type produced by it. 0 can be autoboxed to an Integer and null is a valid Integer value, so that expression produces an Integer.
Then, it tries to auto-unbox the Integer to assign it to the primitive int. And the same thing happens as always happens when you try to auto-unbox null: you get a NullPointerException. :) -

Please could somebody help me out with this? Basically I am not able to understand how to deploy the EAR file created under the MyWork folder under jdeveloper\jdev to the applications folder of j2ee\home. I am new to both EAR deployment as well as web services and would like to get a good understanding of the working of a web service which includes SOAP components and the like.
Any help with regards to building and deploying a web service on standalone OC4J would be appreciated. Thanks a lot.Initially I followed the following steps to start up OC4J:-
Settings :-
1) Jdeveloper is setup under C:\Lester\Testing as Jdev10.1.3 folder
2) I downloaded the extended oc4j zip folder and unzipped it under a new folder oc4j at the location C:\Lester\Testing\Jdev10.1.3
Steps followed to run oc4j and deploy application
1) Setup a standalone oc4j from the jdeveloper ide giving C:\Lester\Testing\Jdev10.1.3\oc4j as the root folder for oc4j.
2) While doing step 1 added password and deployed it. Changed server.xml under C:\Lester/Testing/JDev10.1.3/oc4j/j2ee/home/config
to include the following:-
<shared-library name="global.libraries" version="1.0" library-compatible="true">
<code-source path="C:\Lester/Testing/JDev10.1.3/oc4j/j2ee/home/applib"/>
</shared-library>
AND
<java-compiler name="javac" in-process="false" options="-J-Xmx1024m -encoding UTF8" bindir="C:\Jdeveloper\jdk" extdirs="C:\Jdeveloper/jdk" />
3) Opened a command prompt and went to the location C:\Lester\Testing\JDev10.1.3\oc4j\j2ee\home and ran the following command:-
--> java -jar oc4j.jar
4) Deployment: Then I deployed my primewebservice application from command prompt at C:\Lester\Smart Cylinder\Example code\prime\PrimeNumberService>
using:-
--> java -jar C:\Lester/Testing/JDev10.1.3/oc4j/j2ee/home/admin.jar ormi://172.20.13.164:8888 oc4jadmin welcome -deploy -file PrimeNumberService.ear -deploymentName DocStyleWebService
5) Web Binding: Then I bound my primewebservice application from command prompt at C:\Lester\Smart Cylinder\Example code\prime\PrimeNumberService>
using:-
--> java -jar C:\Lester/Testing/JDev10.1.3/oc4j/j2ee/home/admin.jar ormi://172.20.13.164:8888 oc4jadmin welcome -bindWebApp DocStyleWebService PrimeNumberService_web http-web-site /docws
6) Steps 4 and 5 went through without error.
7) However when trying to access the web service using the following link I get the standard HTTP 404 (Page not found) error:-
http://localhost:8888/docws/prime
This was before I tried deploying the web service through jdeveloper IDE.
I had tried the document web service given at the following link:-
http://www.oracle.com/technology/sample_code/tech/java/codesnippet/webservices/docservice/index.html
from the web services how to links
http://www.oracle.com/technology/sample_code/tech/java/codesnippet/webservices/index.html
Please could somebody help me out? Also periodically I recieve the ojc.exe not found error when trying to deploy an application using jdeveloper ide. There are two conflicting jdeveloper versions one comes with this exe and one without.

Compiler errors when using dynamic text in a class
I have created a MovieClip with a custom class that has a dynamic text field (called "textArea"), which I want to modify by the Component Inspector, as well as via a custom method using:
textArea.text = newText;
It works fine in all cases and there are no problems, but the compiler still wants to give me the error:
1120: Access of undefined property textArea.
The error doesn't appear when I remove the component parameters (so that it's just a normal MovieClip). It still works, even with the error, so I'm not sure why it wants to complain. Am I doing something wrong or is it just being bitchy?By defining them in the class and using the class name under component definition:
[Inspectable(name="Text", type=String, defaultValue="")]
public function set text(setText:String)
textArea.text = setText;
public function get text():String
return textArea.text;
A problem I run into is that the compiler errors prevent the parameters from being defined so I comment out every line that has to do with textArea, define the component, then uncomment them so that it'll work when it runs. -

JSP Compilation Error when using OC4J out of the box
Hello.
After installing Java jdk 1.5.0_05, setting ORACLE_HOME, setting JAVA_HOME, rebooting, and installing OC4J standalone straight out of the box, I have deployed a simple web project that consists of just one JSP. I receive the following error message:
NOTIFICATION J2EE JSP-0008 Unable to dispatch jsp Page: oracle.jsp.provider.JspCompilationException: Errors compiling: C:\LocalApps\OC4J\j2ee\home\application-deployments\oc4j_jsp\persistence\_pages\\_Test.java<pre></pre>
I have deployed a number of Flex2 applications without incident. What am I missing here? Another odd thing is that my organization has OAS running and it can render JSPs fine.
Any help is appreciated thanks,
Mike
P.S. I have gone back and set the JSP debug switches, but they do not yeild much more info. Here is the stacktrace:

at java.lang.Thread.run(Unknown Source)I had the very same Problem, and I spent a lot of time on it.
When installing Oc4j as a service using Javaservice opnesource, I had no problem, even using J.D.K 1.6:
%JSEXE% -install %JSNAME% %JVMDIR%\jvm.dll -XX:PermSize=128m -XX:MaxPermSize=256m -Xmx1024M -Xms1024M -Djava.class.path=%OC4J_HOME%\oc4j.jar -start oracle.oc4j.loader.boot.BootStrap -params -config %OC4J_HOME%\config\server.xml -out %OC4J_HOME%\log\OC4J_service_stdout.log -err %OC4J_HOME%\log\OC4J_service_stderr.log -current %JSBINDIR% -auto -description OC4JService
Then I wanted to install it using "ServiceMill" or "Javaservice Wrapper", becuase it has a better control on the process and I had that awfull compilation error.
I guess it is because ServiceMills uses java.exe and javaservice the .dll to launch the oc4j, no idea.
Anyway, thank you very much!!!!!

I am posting this as a problem for NI to look at.
I am using the Compund Arithmetic function in XOR mode Inverted with 5 inputs. File is also set up in reentrant mode. When I attempt to save the file I get the following error:

NXOR_error.vi 73 KBXOR is a new addition to compound arithmetic node. LabVIEW developpers just overlooked the fact that the outpout could be inverted. The compiler fails to generate the proper code because the inversion is not expected.
Just do what the message says. Report the problem to NI Tech Support (and use a separate inverter node).

JSP Compile Error when using dynamic ID in logic:iterate and bean:size
Hello,
I try to create a dynamic table with logic:iterate and bean:size tag. Dynamic means the attributes are written by scriptlet. Eg.:
<logic:iterate id="customerBean" name="<%= formName %>" property="<%= propertyName%>" length="<%= sRowSize%>">When I replace the id Attribute with propertyName I get compile errors, such as

Whats wrong ?
Thanks for your helpSolution: don't use a runtime expression for the id attribute.
The id attribute is used to declare
- an attribute in scope
- a scriptlet variable on the page
These are only available for the duration of the <logic:iterate> tag
The "id" is only used in your programming. You don't need to make it dynamic. -

Apache Tomcat/5.0I have exactly the same error.
Me too, I'm running on Win XP. And I have had lots of trouble to deploy the converter.
I cannot install J2EE 1.3 as I am supposed to write a report on how Web Services may help my company. By the moment I can only say it takes me much more time than expected to run the J2EE 1.3 tutorial. As SUN didn't deliver a tutorial one can use.
So by the moment if anyone can HELP me to finish this converter tutorial I will be thankful.
Bye

Suddently have compile errors when creates new *.jspx in new project
I'm creating a new test case.
I created an applicaiton and a model project without any problems.
I created the view project and add a jspx document into without anything into. I got no errors when compiling.
I added a adf table by dropping an iterator from the data control palette. I got these errors when i recompiled.
A library seem to be missing for the project or something like that. I don't understand why the web project is not correctly setted.
Project: C:\oracle\product\jdeveloper\jdev\mywork\TestCastor\view\view.jpr
C:\oracle\product\jdeveloper\jdev\mywork\TestCastor\view\public_html\WEB-INF\classes\.jsps\_untitled1_jspx.java
Error(69,54): field EVAL_BODY_AGAIN not found in interface javax.servlet.jsp.tagext.BodyTag
Error(85,21): method handlePageException(java.lang.Throwable) not found in class javax.servlet.jsp.PageContext
C:\oracle\product\jdeveloper\jdev\mywork\TestCastor\view\public_html\untitled1.jspx
Error(52,50): method doAfterBody() not found in class javax.faces.webapp.FacetTag
Error(52,50): field EVAL_BODY_AGAIN not found in interface javax.servlet.jsp.tagext.BodyTag
Error(52,50): field EVAL_BODY_AGAIN not found in interface javax.servlet.jsp.tagext.BodyTag
Error(52,50): method handlePageException(java.lang.Throwable) not found in class javax.servlet.jsp.PageContext
Does somebody already have this problem and know how to solve it ?I found the problem.
We added some librairies in the model problem and they was in conflict with the librairies in the view project. Removing unnecesary librairies from the model solve the problem (i think servlet.jar was the problem).

Change default ordering for search results?
Hi, I have just switched to using Mail. It seems the search results are always ordered by rank as default, but usually I have some intuition about when the message was sent so for me it would be great if there was a way to have results ordered by dat
