XLS flat Transforms using IRPT v.11.5
Our application is built using xMII 11.5.3 b66 (JRE Version 1.4.2_13). We are generating CSV/XML exports and IRPT reports for a dataset. For the underlying query template we set the rowcount to a high value of 120,000. The CSV and XML exports are working fine, but IRPT report is not getting generated if data is large (>200 records 10fields deep).
Is there anyway to just not use the GRID servlet, and render the XML within the IRPT?
Did you mean not using the the iGrid applet? If so you can use the servlet tag in an irpt page to output xsl formatted data. Look at the Using The Servlet or Applet Tags section at the link below.
[http://help.sap.com/saphelp_xmii115/helpdata/en/Advanced_Topics/Report_Generation.htm|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_xmii115/helpdata/en/Advanced_Topics/Report_Generation.htm]
Otherwise this xsl should dump the xml onto the page:
<xsl:template match="/">
<xsl:copy-of select="."/>
</xsl:template>

Idoc to flat file using Integration process does not show up at all
Hello All,
I created a scenario IDOC to Flat File using Integration Process and one without IntegrationProcess. I am able to execute the one without Integration Process easily.
However when I send the IDOC from SAP then the Integration Process scenario just does not work.
I Checked SXMB_MONI There is no entry for the Integration Process.I can see entry for other without Integration Process.
SXI_CACHE : I can see my Integration Process active
SWEQADM : I have activated the Event Queue and Background job
SWF_XI_ADM_BPE : ALL BPE is showing green status.
All syntax check on IP are fine.
There is no Basis Help for me so there could be some additional basis steps which need to be configured. Has anyone faced such an issue with Integration Process?
Regards
PrashantaHope this might help you. when u configure an IDoc as Sender with BPM this is how you proceed.
<b>1<b>. let us split the scenario into two</b>.</b>
a. <b>Sender to BPM</b> ( Integration Process).
b. <b>BPM to Receiver</b>.
<b>2. First let us configure the first Sender to BPM.</b>
a. Sender Agreement( <b>Not required</b> ).
b. Receiver Agreement( <b>NOT Required</b>).
c. Receiver Determination( Sender Service, Outbound Interface, Receiver Service(<b>Integration Process</b>).
d. Interface Determination( Inbound Interface(Sender Abstract Interface), Message Mapping(NOT Required if your using transformation stepin Integration Process)).
<b>3. Now let us configure the Second BPM to Receiver.</b>
a. Sender Agreement( <b>NOT Required</b>)
b. Receiver Agreement( Sender Service(<b>Integration process</b>), Receiver Abstarct Interface,Receiver service, Inbound Interface).
c. Receiver Determination( Sender Service(Integration Process), Receiver Abstarct Interface,Receiver Service).
d. Interface Determination( Inbound Interface, Message Mapping(<b>NOT Required</b>)).
So Finally we have <b>One Receiver Agreement</b>, <b>Two Receiver Determinations</b>, <b>Two Interface Determinations</b>.
Please let me know if you have any more queries.

Filename for flat file using J2EE FILE FTP Receiver adapter
Hi there,
I am struggling to do the following:
I have a J2EE File receiver that sends a file with a specific name to a FTP destination. I define the target filename in my graphical mapping using certain criteria and a incremental number. In my adapter I use variable substitution to select that value in the payload as the filename. Up to this point everything works fine.
The problem is that I convert the payload to a flat structure using xslt before writing it out and because of that the adapter cannot find my value as defined in the variable I use for the name.
Now, obviously if I move the xslt module after the CallAdapter module, the file won't be converted to a flat structure.
Can anyone give me advice on how I can do the flat conversion <u>and</u> the specific filename from the payload?
Thanks in advance,
JohanHi,
Instead of using variable substitution, use adapter specific identifiers to set the file name in mapping.

Delete data from a flat file using PL/SQL -- Please help.. urgent
Hi All,
We are writing data to a flat file using Text_IO.Put_Line command. We want to delete data / record from that file after data is written onto it.
Please let us know if this is possible.
Thanks in advance.
VaishaliThere's nothing in UTL_FILE to do this, so your options are either to write a Java stored procedure to do it or to use whatever mechanism the host operating system supports for editing files.
Alternatively, you could write a PL/SQL procedure to read each line in from the file and then write them out to a second file, discarding the line you don't want along the way. -

How to Create a Flat File using FTP/File Adapter
Can any body done workaround on creating the Flat file using FTP/File Adapter?.
I need to create a simple FlatFile either using of delimiter/Fixed length. using the above said adapters we can create XML file, i tried concatinating all the values into a single String and writing into a file, but it does not have proper structure
Can any body help me out on this..
Thanks
RamYou can create a text schema while creating a File Adapter. If schema is specified for File Adapter, it takes care of converting XML into fixed length or delimited format.

Why is the Star Transformation using two indexes for the same dimension?
Hi,
Recently, I have made an investigation about the Star Transformation feature. I have found a strange test case, which plays an important role in my strategy for our overall DWH architecture. Here it is:
The Strategy:
I would like to have the classical Star Transformation approach (single column Bitmap Indexes for each dimension foreign key column in the fact table), together with additional Bitmap Join Indexes for some of the dimension attributes, which would benefit from the materialization of the join (bitmap merge operation will be skipped/optimized).
The query:
select dp.brand, ds. region_name, dc.region_name
, count(*), sum(f.extended_price)
from fact_line_item f
, dim_part dp
, dim_supplier ds
, dim_customer dc
where dp.mfgr = 10 -- dimension selectivity = 1/10 --> acttual/fact selectivity = 6/10
and f.part_dk = dp.dk
and ds.region_name = 'REGION #1' -- dimension selectivity = 1/9
and f.supplier_dk = ds.dk
and dc.region_name = 'REGION #1' -- dimension selectivity = 1/11
and f.customer_dk = dc.dk
group by dp.brand, ds. region_name, dc.region_name
The actual plan:

The Question:
Why is the Star Transformation using both indexes FACT_LI__P_PART_DIM_KEY_BIX and FACT_LI__P_PART_MFGR_BJX for the same dimension criteria (dp.mfgr = 10)?? The introduction of the additional Bitmap Join Index actually make Oracle to do the work twice !!!
Anybody, any idea ?!?Dom, here it is the plan with the predicates:

Same transformation using xref:lookupXRef() that works in BPEL fails in BPM
Hi,
Developing using JDev 11.1.1.5 I'm trying to get the lookupXRef() work in a transformation in a BPM process but it fails with no error message just causing empty output xml. In an attempt to debug I copied a lookupXRef() from another transformation used in a BPEL process, hardcoding everything, with no luck.
Could it be that supporting jar files are not available for transformations done in BPM process?
Appreciate input, thank you.Have you configured your default channels from OEM, try configuring all your default channels at RMAN level, so that you dont have to specifiy in run { } script;
For Eg. in my environment , i have following settings and backup command works fine both from shell and grid

Message transformation using XSLT
Hi OSB Gurus,
We are trying to implement following functionality using OSB.
1. We have XML messages in a folder.
2. Need to create a proxy service to take these messages and apply transformations using XSLT.
3. After transformation, put the messages in a different folder which will be picked up by another message broker.
Please give me some pointers about how i can design this. Also i would like to share my findings about the step 2, but having issues for defining input payload which should be defined in the step 1 above. I followed the document http://blog.jayway.com/2010/05/07/xslt-transformations-in-oracle-service-bus/ for registering the xslt transformation, but couldnot make it work as i am not sure about how i can integrate step 1 with step 2.
Thanks so much in advance. Thanks for the suggestion. I will try and see. Here are the files:

How to use SAXParser to transform using stylesheet
I've got some PL/SQL code that is generating in-memory XML
document based on query run against Oracle database, and then
transforms that XML using XSLT (for later posting over network).
I've been encountering lots of memory errors and wanted to try
using the SAXParser instead. However, the info I've found on
SAXParser never really talks about transforming using stylesheet.
How would I go about transforming a 'subdocument' at a time (I
need the output to exist as one very large properly formatted XML
document, not as a bunch of separate XML docs). Are there
examples of this somewhere?Hi. What I understand is, you should pass the value of the body first on a variable before doing the MFL transformation action. Use the Assign action to do this.
Then Use the MFL transform on the value inside the given variable, and you can pass it back to body. -
Xslt transformation using SAP BC 47
Hi,
I'm trying to do a transformation using the sap transformation package in the SAP BC ( rel 47 )
I'm transforming an IDOC into a cXML order for example...
The transformed xml contains some rather odd characters...
Even a very simple xslt has these odd characters...
directly after the DOCTYPE
I'm using MapForce to create the xslt..
Has anyone else experienced these issues?

it appears the include element only works with the repository.... I tried
<xsl:include sap:name="<Name_of_the_Transformation_in_Repository>"/>
and it works.
However this would mean, all includes i have to make have to be imported to the repository. If that's really the case, it'll be a huge problem, because the xsl-files i want to include are outside of my reference

Simulate update in Transformation using a single record
In an update rule, it was possible from the monitor to simulate the update of an infoProvider. During the simulation, you could choose to select only certain records of the PSA for simulation. This was very useful if you wanted to simulate only a single problematic record.
In a transformation using a DTP, I can find out how to add the breakpoints and debut a start routine in a transformation, but I cannot find a way to do that simulation using only a single record from the PSA.
The only option I can find is to create a DTP that has a filter that restricts the PSA down to a single record, but this is time consuming as you first have to find a way to filter the PSA to select a unique record.
I have tried to use the ENTER DATA PACKAGE when setting the breakpoints, but this does not seem to allow this to happen.
Is there a similar function in the DTP that allows you to simulate the update on a single selectable record?Hi Kevin,
this function is not available from the transformation, yet check the DTP, where you can set the processing to serial. You can then change breakpoints at the processing steps of the DTP, and will also be asked to enter for which package you want to simulate the DTP or use the expert mode [next to processing mode] (I hope this is correct since I couldn't verify it in the system due to time constraints).
Please search also the forum, since the topic simulation of DTP was already a topic here.
Cheers
