Xml data considered than strings character in«append»&«insert-aft»operation
Hello,
I use BPEL10.1.3.1. Here is my problem. I recuperate in a database a CLOB data type :
<c>
<d>
<e></e>…
</d>
<f>
<g></g>
<h></h>…
</f>
</c>
I insert this CLOB data type in a new variable "compteRenduXml" (type : simple type, xsd language). When I visualize my "compteRenduXml" variable, it is a xml data (that's OK).
I am trying to insert the "compteRenduXml" variable after the <b>…</b> operation :
<a>
<b>…</b>
</a>
The problem is the variable I would like to insert is considered than strings character (and not xml data ! ).
After, when I try to insert a value in "<e>abcd</e>" for example, I have this error : « The XPath chain does not return any node. »
Can you help me ?
Thank you.
Tania
If in my Sqlloader script I use :
INTO TABLE XML_DOCUMENT_TABLE_VWO TRUNCATE
XMLType(xmlcol)
FIELDS TERMINATED BY ',' OPTIONALLY ENCLOSED BY '"'
xmlcol
I have always this error whith the two XML document (< 255 kb, & > 255 Kb)

Converting hexadecimal XML data to a string
Hello!
Until now I generated XML data with the FM 'SDIXML_DOM_TO_XML'.
After that I did a loop over the xml_as_table in which I was casting each line of that table to a string.
ASSIGN <line> TO <line_c> CASTING.
After the inftroduction of unicode in our system I get a error:
In the current program an error occured when setting the field symbol <LINE_C> with ASSIGN or ASSIGNING (maybe in combination with the CASTING addition).
When converting the base entry of the field symbol <LINE_C> (number in base table: 32776), it was found that the target type requests a memory alignment of 2
What does it mean? Does somebody have a solution.
I need this function for sending this XML data as string over a simple old CPIC connection.
Best regards

Perhaps my sample report ZUS_SDN_XML_XSTRING_TO_STRING provides a solution for your problem.

Have XML data in a string, can't extract it to the XML bean class
Hi All, I have a string that contains XML data, for example,
string str has "<one>1<\one><two>2<\two>". i have the XML beans classes,
but i am unable to get this data out of the string and add it to the xml bean
classes.
I anybody has a clue as to how to code this, please help ASAP.
Thanks,
kuneevHi Kunnev,
Lets say I have an xsd
<?xml version="1.0"?>
<xs:schema
xmlns:xs="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema"
xmlns:bea="http://www.bea.com/xmlbeans/Sample.xsd"
targetNamespace="http://www.bea.com/xmlbeans/Sample.xsd"
elementFormDefault="qualified"
attributeFormDefault="unqualified">
<xs:element name="Person">
<xs:complexType>
<xs:sequence>
<xs:element name="FirstName" type="xs:string" />
<xs:element name="LastName" type="xs:string" />
</xs:sequence>
</xs:complexType>
</xs:element>
</xs:schema>
Now after I compile this I would get XMLBean classes
Like Person is a xmlBean class. The code snippet below shows how I can convert
a string into a xmlbean of type Person.
XmlOptions xopt = new XmlOptions();
xopt.setDocumentType(Person.type);
Person x0 = (Person) XmlObject.Factory.parse(
"<xml-fragment>" +
"<FirstName>desc---1</FirstName>" +
"<LastName>desc---2</LastName>" +
"</xml-fragment>", xopt);
Person pp = (Person)x0;
Now pp is a XMLBean object which can be added to the tree.
Let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks a lot,
Vimala

Adobe Reader crashes on importing form XML data larger than 500KB
I'm trying to import XML data into a PDF form using Adobe Reader. When the file size of the XML is smaller than 500 kilobytes, the PDF form loads the data fine. However, any larger than this leads to Adobe Reader crashing without a warning or error message.
I've tried this with Aodbe Reader versions 7.0.5, v9 and even the latest Adobe Reader X: same result. So the latest version does not have any patches for this issue so far.
To be more specific, the form is an IPC-1752-2 v1.0 Material Composition Declaration form. The XML data is generated by a software. Some of the XML files worked fine but others caused Reader to crash. Experimenting with a repeating data node, I tried different file sizes and came to the conclusion that Reader crashes past around 500KB.
Any patches or quick workarounds will be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,Firstly I woudl not use the submit by email button (it is too restrictive). You could create or build an email submit button. Just drop a regular button on the form (change the caption to something more meaningful). Now make it a submit button. A submit tab becaomes active. Click on that. In the Submit to URL field enter in the command:
mailto:[email protected], youremail [email protected]?subject="This is a subject"&cc="ccaddress if req"&body="This is the body if required"
You can control all parts of the message this way. Do a google search for mailto to see all of the different options.
Now you need to set what you are going to send. In the Submit As dropdown, choose PDF. Now a PDF will be sent. To be able to allow all users to send PDF you will have to Reader Extend the form. You can do this in Acrobat. Once all of this is done, open the form in Acrobat and under the Advanced menu choose Extend Features in Adobe Reader. Now follow the wizard and save your form. Distribute the saved form.

JAXB: Read XML data from a String?
Hi,
I get XML data not from file but as a string and I wanted to use JAXB to parse it and get my Java Objects.
The unmarshall methods wants an "InputStream", but "StringBufferInputStream" is deprecated, so that I don't know a way to use my String as InputStream.
Can someone give me a hint other then writing the data in a file first?Hi FrankSch,
The unmarshall methods wants an "InputStream", but
"StringBufferInputStream" is deprecated, so that I
don't know a way to use my String as InputStream.
Can someone give me a hint other then writing the data
in a file first?Yes, the class StringBufferInputStream is deprecated, and the deprecation notice reads:
Deprecated. This class does not properly convert characters into bytes. As of JDK 1.1, the preferred way to create a stream from a string is via the StringReader class.
The JDK API usually mentions an alternative to the deprecated method/class and in this case, you should use java.io.StringReader. It has one constructor and should suite you nicely:
StringReader(String s) That way, you get an InputStream object; you can now use JAXB.
Hope this helps,

Because of these junk chracters this issue is raising. But THE THING I AM NOT UNDERSTANDING IS. The same value in other report is getting printed without any warning.
Please through any ideas.Hi,
In the report where I have no issues with the junk characters the Encoding format is

How to retreive the modified XML data?
Hi..
i had a problem in retrieving the modified xml data.
Iam using apache's DOMParser
In the my class my xml data is stored in a string.so i used following statement to read xml data from that string:
String abc="<? xml version=... some data goes here"
InputSource in=new InputSource(new ByteArrayInputStream(abc.getBytes()));
DOMParser domParser = new DOMParser();
domParser.parse(in);
Document doc = domParser.getDocument();
Element root = doc.getDocumentElement();
and i did some operations like adding ,removing and replacing elements etc.
It was fine when the checked the data.
but..i need my modified xml data as String.
is there any method to retrieve the modified xml data "as it is" in String?You can use XMLSerializer.
Here is an example that dump your document on the console:
OutputFormat formatter = new OutputFormat();
formatter.setPreserveSpace(true);
XMLSerializer serializer =
new XMLSerializer(System.out, formatter);
serializer.serialize(doc);
where doc is your Document. -
Hi all,
i have to create a table in the DDIC where i have to store some XML data and informations.
ID -> char
date -> date field
desc -> char
xml -> ????
What datatype shall i use to store my XML Data ?
Later in a Dynpro i need to show this XML Data. What type of control shall i use to show this XML Data ?
Can i use the browser control ? If so ... how can i pass my xml data to this control ??
Greetings
HenningYou can create a field of data type STRING if you are planning to store your XML in string or RAWSTRING if you are planning to store your data in XSTRING.
You can use the Simple CL_GUI_HTML_VIEWER to display your XML data stored in STRING or XSTRING. Take a look at the FM DISPLAY_XML_STRING.

String lateral size error will come when you try to insert the full xml in string format.
public static boolean writeCLOBData(String tableName, String id, String columnName, String strContents) throws DataAccessException{

PREPARE_STATEMENT = connection.prepareStatement ( sqlQuery );
// converting string to reader stream
Reader reader = new StringReader ( strContents );

// return false after updating the clob data to DB

Appending XML data to a file using file adaptor
Hi,
I am trying to append data to a file using file adaptor in XML format. (Objective is to store data as XML message in the file). I understand it is possible to append data to an existing file by making appropriate changes in WSDL manually. However, my issue is every time the XML data is appended to a file even the XML header message is also getting appended. As a result the file data does not adhere to defined schema structure anymore.
Is there a way to save XML data in a file in append mode ?
Thanks, RizI am having the same issue as well, which makes the output XML an invalid one. I have an XSD that has a hierarchy of elements. whenever I am wiriting the child elements the header message & the name space is also getting written. For example
<?xml version="1.0" ?><Parent xmlns="http://testSchema.com/outputSchema">
<StartDate>01/01/2001</StartDate>
<EndDate>01/30/2001</EndDate>
<Child/>
</Parent>
<?xml version="1.0" ?><Child xmlns:ns1="http://testSchema.com/outputSchema">
<ns1:Id>20012981</ns1:Id>
<ns1:Value/>
<ns1:Date>01/15/2001</ns1:Date>
</Child>
<?xml version="1.0" ?><Child xmlns:ns1="http://testSchema.com/outputSchema">
<ns1:Id>20012981</ns1:Id>
<ns1:Value/>
<ns1:Date>01/15/2001</ns1:Date>
</Child>
I am using a onefile adapter partnerlink to write the parent & an another one for writing the child element, since the child elements will repeat more than once. One other way to fix this issue is write the data using java embedded activity, but that would need a lot of boiler plate code, for writing/reading/appending the same file & for handling all those IOexceptions & buffer IN/outs. I am curious if someone had the same issue & how they resolved it. -
Problems sending xml data as string to a web service
Hello!
I need to develop a client in order to invoke a web service. I have the WSDL of the web service, so I generate a web service proxy, from that WSDL, using JDeveloper 10.1.3.0.
Among other things, that web service receive RPC request (binding style is RPC) and the request has only one parameter, which consists of a string. That string must be an XML document (that is, the web service receives one parameter which is a XML document as a String). I generate that parameter, and it looks like the following:

<versionMsg>1.0</versionMsg>

XML Data from PL/SQL procedure -- special character issue (eBS)
Hi All,
I am developing a report, where the XML data is created by a PL/SQL procedure. I chose this approach over a data template, since there is a lot of processing involved in producing the actual data, and it cannot be done by select-statements alone. The report is run as a regular concurrent request.
So far so good. There is a problem though. Every time the data contains special characters (ä, ö, umlauts), the concurrent request is completed with a warning, the log confirms that "One or more post-processing actions failed.", also there is no output file. The XML structure is valid as such. The report runs smoothly and produces the output when the XML data does not contain special characters.
I am producing the XML lines by using the standard FND_FILE.PUT_LINE procedure: Fnd_File.put_line(Fnd_File.output, '<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>'); This seems like a character encoding issue, but declaring the UTF-8 encoding in this way does not solve the problem.
Any ideas what can be done to fix this? I have been searching Metalink but cannot find an answer. Many thanks for your kind help.
Best Regards, MatildaHi Rajesh,
One idea I have, is that it might be possible to modify the PL/SQL code into a "before report" type trigger, attached to a data template. The code would process the data and write the lines into a temporary table, from which the data template could retrieve them in a simple select-query. However, it would be neat to be able to solve this without adding an extra layer of processing, since BI Publisher supposedly supports PL/SQL procedures as the data source.
The data in this case is all correct, special characters are an intrinsic feature of the Finnish language. :)

How to parse a string containing xml data
Hi,
Is it possible to parse a string containing xml data into a array list?
my string contains xml data as <blood_group>
<choice id ='1' value='A +ve'/>
<choice id ='2' value='B +ve'/>
<choice id ='3' value='O +ve'/>
</blood_group>how can i get "value" into array list?There are lot of Java XML parsing API's available, e.g. JAXP, DOM4J, JXPath, etc.
Of course you can also write it yourself. Look which methods the String API offers you, e.g. substring and *indexOf. -

<AAA LBP="223344" ETK="123456/1" ACT="345" />

v_5:= i.xml.extract('//@SRC').getstringval();
v_6:= i.xml.extract('//@DES').getstringval();
END LOOP;
after this, I need to loop all the actual records one by one using this for loop. Here for each iteration , i need to check some string ( example ACT) is there or not. in the above example, records 1,3 have ACT value in it. So here i need to check some thing like this. if instr('<AAA LBP="223344" ETK="123456/1" ACT="345" />','ACT)>0 before I perform the below step.
How to achieve this.
