XML-Document with extern DTD

Hello!
How can the Oracle XML-Parser parse a XML-Document without the
XML-Declaration. There is no information about the Version and
the DTD in the XML-Document. Can I use an extern DTD?

I dont think we can set a DTD file throug java while
parsing an XML.I've done it with an XML schema though. Can you use that instead? For schemas you do something like:
DocumentBuilderFactory factory = DocumentBuilderFactory.newInstance();
factory.setAttribute( "http://java.sun.com/xml/jaxp/properties/schemaSource",
schemaUrl );where schemaUrl in this case would be something like file:///usr/local/whatever.xsd

XML VALIDATION WITH EXTERNAL DTD

I've the following problem:
I've stored a dtd into the xdb repository(with createresource function) and all seems work.
In this DTD i've declared some element and one entity in this way :
<!ENTITY emsp " " >
When i try to store or extract my xml (with sql extract function) i get :
ORA-19202 Error during xml processing
LPX-00217 : invalid character 8195 (\u2003)
I've to declare the entity in a different way ?

Hi All,
I need help on the following requirement very badly. Pls help me.
I have a requirement to implement with java and XML. I am quit new to XML.Can any of you pls help me.
I have a DTD file. I need to generate XML document from it using java code. I have to use DTD as a template to generate my XML document.
After going through WEB sites, I understtod that, we have to user Java API JAXB for my requirement. But I could not find JAXB.jar anywhere.
I need to know the following inforamtion ....
1. Is my understanding of using JAXB for my requirement is correct?
2. Where can I get JAXB.jar?
3. What are the steps to create XML document from a DTD in Java?
If can give me a sample code for this would help me a lot.
Pls pls reply me. Your help is greatly appreciated.

Validating XML documents against a DTD

Guys I am new to XML and I have this requirement to validate a XML document against a DTD.This validation has to be done through my java application.In short , a user enters a XML data thru a JSP form ,and moment he presses the SAVE button my java program should validate the XML data against a DTD and then display any error or else save the data into an Oracle table.
I was wondering lot of program/utitlities must be available out there which will do the validation for me ,rather than me re-inventing the wheel.

Open XML document with proper layout

Hi,
I created my own XML form and I have problem when accessing the document within "KM Content".
Indeed, when I click on the XML file generated by the XML Form it doesn't render it with the "Show" form but rather displays it as an usual XML document (with all its tags).
Hint:
I linked my iView to a custom CM repository. But, if I link my iView containing the XML Form to the out-of-the-box CM repository "/documents", it works fine.
What should I do to make this work?

Hi Eric,
in the Configuration under 'System Administration' -> 'System Configuration' -> 'Knowledge Management' -> 'Content Management' -> 'Repository Filters' you can find a filter named 'xmlforms_filter'. Some repositories are registered for this filter (in the standard e.g. documents). You should add your repositoriy here. After that the files in your repository should use the Show-form when being displayed.

Using a workflow to share documents with external users

I'm trying to create a workflow that will share documents with external users. Those external users don't have SharePoint logons.
One approach might be to send an email using a 2010 workflow. However there doesn't appear to be the ability to attach a document to that email.
The other approach could be to use the Share function of SharePoint 2013 but can this be triggered using a workflow? If so how?
Please note: I'm using SharePoint Online

ORA-31020 when using XML with external DTD or entities

I'd like to parse XML documents against a modular DTD that references other DTDs. This works fine with Oracle 9i. But after upgrading to 11g, the parsing of XML-instances fails and DBMS_XMLPARSER.parseClob produces ORA-31020.
The same error occurs even if I simply try to store XML with a reference to an external DTD as xmltype:

Problem when trying to load an XML document with DTD or XML SCHEMA

I have tried to load an XML document in Data Services, and I created the xsd file and Dtd file. (With altova xml spy software automatically) to import into SAP Data Services 3.2. .
In Data Services I created the dtd import file DTD and then called the XML file from the DTD (the xml file is validated vs the dtd file), and I could not read the xml correctly because it tells me that an ELEMENT called <item> expected joiners who did not come in the structure of import (dtd), but if the xml.
I understand that the document root is the label: CUSTOMER_FULL_2014, the data flow is as follows:CARGA_XML_CUSTOMER |
Turns out the joiners element is used to separate the xml elements are repeated, but is used at different levels. My idea is that the design will dtd second, or something I'm missing or is incorrectly stated.

I generated a new XSD file using MS Visual Studio based on your XML file.
The empty spaces in the source is replaced with <Null> in the target table.

Creation of a XML Document with DTD entry

I am trying to create a XML file on the fly. I use the
NodeFactory to contruct a document (createDocument()). I have
then setStandalone("no") and setVersion("1.0"). when I try to
add a DOCTYPE node via appendChild( new XMLNode("test",
Node.DOCUMENT_TYPE_NODE)), I get a ClassCastException.
This is using the 1.0.1.1.0 xml parser.
What is the mechanism to add a node of this type? I noticed that
the NodeFactory did not have a machanism for creating a DOCTYPE
node.

There is no mechanism to create a new DOCUMENT_TYPE_NODE object
via DOM APIs. The only way to get a DTD object is to parse the
DTD file or the XML file using the DOMParser, and then use the
getDocType() method. Note that new XMLNode("test",
Node.DOCUMENT_TYPE_NODE) does not create a DTD
object. It creates an XMLNode object with the type set to
DOCUMENT_TYPE_NODE, which infact should not be allowed. The
ClassCastException is raised because appendChild expects a DTD
object (based on the type).
Also, we do not do any validation while creating the DOM tree
using the DOM APIs. So setting the DTD in the Document will not
help in validating the DOM tree that is constructed. The only way
to validate an XML file is to parse the XML document using
DOMParser or SAXParser.

XML failing with Rosettanet DTD

Hi,
We are using a PIP5D5 xml message for an interface. This message is structurally defined as per the DTD provided in the Rosettanet standards. But for some segments where multiples are allowed, we are trying to use an attribute to distinguish each segment from other. (For Ex. <PartnerBusinessIdentification Type = "One">. )This new xml with attributes when verified against the dtd is failing with error, The element has no declaration for an attibute named 'Type'.
Is the usage of attributes invalid if you want to create a message as per Rosettanet standards? If so, how can we distinguish a segment when multiple occurences can be there?

Validating XML against an external DTD

I've three questions concerning the validation of an XML file on Checkin:
1. Can the SimpleXMLParser validate an XML file against an external (internal) DTD.
2. How do I have to construct the !DOCTYPE Reference in my XML file for the parser to find my external DTD
3. Do I need to have a iFS type definition for my file to get it validated

Yes, DTD Validation is supported for 1.1
but its not supported on a Per document basis
or a per protocol basis.
There is a System wide Property called
IfsDefaultDTDValidation which if set to true
will turn on validation for the entire
system (all protocols)
In addition, there is also support for a validate option to be passed to the parser
(which is currently not exposed for 1.1 through the protocols) but a Custom Parser
or application can set the validate mode on.
The validate option setting takes preference
over the IfsDefaultDTDValidation setting
