XML driven message ticker (marquee)

I'm makin a scrolling marquee that gets its data from an xml
file. It reads it in and displays it fine, however, each loop of
the scroller I want it to read in the xml file again so that any
new entries will be displayed.
I don't know if it's caching the xml file or what. I've tried
the usual addition of a random query strong on the end of the xml
file but still get the same data in.
Any ideas?

than the random query string is not set correctly because if
it was, you wouldn't be
getting cached file.

  • Importing xml driven swf file -- is it asking for too much?

    I want to import an ActionScript3 / xml driven swf file into Catalist, but it only imports the swf file.
    I have placed all the external images and the xml file that calls them into the same folder as the swf and the catalist files, but the playback still does not work. It shows error messages when trying to run. Copying the files to Assets/ Media  or Images folders also makes no difference...There is no way in Catalyst to reconnect the xml to the swf either...
    Why can't Flash and Catalyst be more friendly? Will there be a better connectivity in the final version?

    Hello there,
    There are several reasons why this wouldn't work, especially during preview. I'd like to ask you a couple questions and have you try a couple things.
    1. What file path are you saving your project to, and what location did you copy the XML and image files to?
    2. Did you try publishing your project, and copying your additional files to the published locations?
    3. Did you try the same steps as above, only using the deploy-to-web version posted on your server? You would load the application by going to your web browser and typing something like: http://yourserverhere.com/.../deploy-to-web/Main.html.
    Let me know if any of those work. Because Catalyst cleans the space where preview files are kept, it would be difficult to have your scenario work during preview. However, you could probably get it to work in a published version.

  • XML Driven Flash Photo Gallery Thumbnails

    Hi,
    I need to make a XML Driven Photo slide in Flash CS5.
    It needs to have a Box that contains 5 Thumbnails(by XML) act as buttons.
    The Box sits on top of the Main photo area and shrinks (or close out) when user click its close button. And it opens out by clicking on a open button.
    I'm sure it can be done by using timeline, Tweening or you name it..But what about the Thumbnails that run from the XML file?
    Can they disappear with the Box and retrieve when it opens? is it possible?
    If yes, what would be the best way to do that?

  • MDM adapter Non-XML Inbound Messaging

    Hi all,
    I have a scenario where I transport a csv file via PI (NW711_05_REL) to MDM using the File adapter (sender) and MDM adapter 7.1 7.1 (receiver).
    The message is sent through to the MDM port fine, and it seems to choose xml as default file type and PI MSG ID as file name.
    This results in an xml file with csv content.
    As I want to put the file on the port with its original file type (csv) and name, I need to tweak the MDM adapter a bit. For this I have tried to find MDM specific modules, but have been unable to do so.
    I have found a u201Cwork aroundu201D by using u201CSet Adapter Specific Message Attributeu201D on the sender file adapter u2013 described on help.sap.com
    Configuring the sender file adapter as described in http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwmdm71/helpdata/en/48/9854884d3217cee10000000a421937/content.htm i am able to set the "FileName" attribute in dynamic configuration.
    This enables me to get some of the desired effect, as the file on the MDM port is now a csv file u2013 half way there!! However the file name remains PI MSG ID...
    Am I missing something here or is the adapter not working as intended? I donu2019t understand why it should only use the file type when the entire filename and type is there. I would assume that the entire filename and extension would be used in the MDM port.
    I have tried achieving the desired result by using the "AF_Modules/DynamicConfigurationBean" on a JMS adapter, but the result is the same.
    I would like to avoid developing my own custom module to handle this, as it seems like it should be possible to handle in a more standard way.
    I hope someone out there can help me out, and hope to see a lot of good replies.
    Best Regards,
    Jesper

    have you gone thur these settings?
    Non-XML Inbound Messaging
    When the backend system uses the PI File Adapter sender as the communication channel to deliver messages to the PI server, and the receiving MDM channel corresponds to an inbound MDM port of type other than XML (for example, Flat text file), then you must enable the File Adapter Specific Message Attribute named File Name as follows:
           1.      Edit the corresponding File Adapter sender communication channel.
           2.      In the Advanced tab, choose Set Adapter Specific Message Attribute.
           3.      Choose the File Name.
           4.      Save and activate the changes.

  • Flash Lite XML Driven Gallery Simple Question

    Hello Flash Lite Gurus',
    Someone Named "Mr. Samir K. Dash;" did a wonderful tutorial regarding Flash Lite XML driven Photo Gallery, and I have just a small question:
    1> I changed the attributes schema of the xml as attached and noticed that it is not working, and I wonder what could be the reason (please see the attached XML new attribute schema, I didn't change fields names, I just changed the way the attributes' schema looks like).
    The link to the tutorial is the following:
    http://www.adobe.com/devnet/devices/articles/xml_photo_gallery.html
    Looking forward to your help
    best regards
    Talal

    As I look at your modified XML file, you need to make major changes in the script.
    You have changed the attributes to become child nodes. So, you will need to use firstChild.nodeValue or childNodes[i].nodeValue everywhere.

  • Creating a very simple XML-driven gallery

    Hi, I'm learning XML in AS3 and I am having real trouble finding a resource that can help me learn how to build a very simple XML-driven picture gallery.
    I am working in an FLA file with AS3, with a dynamic text field with the instance name "textfield". I also have a UILoader Component with the instance name "UILoaderComponent" and an XML file called "rootdir.xml".
    I have an XML file in the following format.
    <images>
         <imagenames>
              <name>image1</name>
              <name>image2</name>
              <name>image3</name>
              <name>image4</name>
              <name>image5</name>
         </imagenames>
         <imagepaths>
              <path>image1.jpg</path>
              <path>image2.jpg</path>
              <path>image3.jpg</path>
              <path>image4.jpg</path>
              <path>image5.jpg</path>
         </imagepaths>
    </images>
    I am using the following as my actionscript.
    var xmlLoader:URLLoader = new URLLoader();
    var xmlData:XML = new XML();
    xmlLoader.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE, LoadXML);
    xmlLoader.load(new URLRequest("rootdir.xml"));
    function LoadXML(e:Event):void {
    xmlData = new XML(e.target.data);
    parseImg(xmlData);
    function parseImg(imgLoad:XML):void {
    var imgChild:XMLList = imgLoad.images.children();
    for each (var imgTrace:XML in imgChild) {
    trace(imgTrace);
    No matter which way I experiment, I always have poor results with my dynamic text, and every tutorial I've followed does not reproduce anything like the same returned data in "textfield" that it does with the trace command.
    My objective is: I simply want to build a menu inside a textbox called "textfield" that lists images1-5, and when clicked, calls upon the relevant image. For instance: I load the file "rootdir.xml" into the file "index.fla". I call a function to parse the XML into a dynamic text box called "textfield". When image 2 is clicked on the textbox "textfield", it would call upon a function that would load into the UIComponent Loader "image2.jpg".
    Are there any tutorials for this? I'm so confused as to why dynamic text operates so differently from the trace command. I'm not interested in doing a fancy menu bar with thumbnails, scrollbars and animations, I just want to learn the basics.

    I don't really see how you are getting a valid trace out of that code (I get nothing if I try it as is), but as far as the textfield goes, you haven't shown any attempt in your code that might help to point to why you cannot get the text into a textfield.  It might be a problem with how you are trying to write to the textfield and not how your are manipulating the data.
    While you could make use of a textfield for the menu, doing so is not straightforward, as you would need to implement htmlText with special coding in order to have the text clickable.  You might consider using a List component or ComboBox instead.
    What I always do when I am working with xml is to store the data into a data structure, usually an array conatining objects, and then make use of that structure rather than dippng into the xml data itself when I utilize the data.
    Another thing, which rquigley demonstrated, is that your xml will serve its purpose better if the data for each image is collected under the same node.  If you have separate sections for each piece of data like you have, when it comes to editing it will be more prone to error as you have to be sure you are editing the correct entry of each separate group.
    I too am no expert in the world of xml, but I have not yet worked with parameters inside the tags, so I would usually structure it as...
    <images>
       <image>
           <imgName>image 1</imgName>
           <imgPath>image1.jpg</imgPath>
       </image>
       <image>
           <imgName>image 2</imgName>
           <imgPath>image2.jpg</imgPath>
       </image>
    </images>
    Now, back to what you have...  let's say you have a textField named imgText that you want to list the image names in.  The following should work, though I do not go my usual route of storing the data into an object array first...
    function parseImg(imgLoad:XML):void {
       var imgNames:XMLList = imgLoad.imagenames.name;
       var imgPaths:XMLList = imgLoad.imagepaths.path;
       // show name
       for each (var nameTrace:XML in imgNames) {
          trace(nameTrace);
          imgText.appendText(nameTrace +"\n");
       // show path
       for each (var pathTrace:XML in imgPaths) {
          trace(pathTrace);
          imgText.appendText(pathTrace +"\n");
       // show name and path
       for(var i:uint=0; i<imgNames.length(); i++){
          trace(imgNames[i].text()+"  "+imgPaths[i].text());
          imgText.appendText(imgNames[i].text()+"  "+imgPaths[i].text() +"\n");

  • Oracle XML Gateway Message Designer for Oracle EBS R12.1.2

    Goog Day to everyone!
    I'm Looking for the tool "XML Gateway Message Designer". I have found in Metalink(Oracle Support) the note ID 557101.1, here explain how to get the message designer for Oracle Apps R12. It says that you have to download the patch 4066964. This patch install the Oracle Workflow Builder (2.6.3.0.1) and the Oracle XML Gateway Message Designer (2.6.3). This tools are supported to be used with Oracle Apps 11.5.10 and 12.0.X.
    The release of Oracle Apps that I'm using is 12.1.2.
    Questions:
    - The version of the Message Designer that you get from patch 4066964 works for OraApps R12.1.2 ?
    - The version of the Workflow Builder that you get from patch 4066964 works for OraApps R12.1.2 ?
    - If the version of Message Designer doesn't work with OraApps R12.1.2, where can I find one that works with it?
    Thanks for your advice.
    LCJ

    Hi Hussein,
    Thanks for replay.
    I downloaded the rapid install package from e-delivery. The B53824-01_4of4 was the OWB installer, and it has a readme file that says: "+This patch contains Oracle Workflow Builder (version 2.6.3.0.1) and Oracle XML Gateway Message Designer (version 2.6.3). These client tools are supported for use with an Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.1 instance.+"
    I believe, as well as you, that it should be work for 12.1.2.
    I'm gonna make some test, and in a few days I will post my results.
    Thanks for the help.

  • XML Parser Message: Element series is not valid for the content model

    Hello,
    I work with FrameMaker 8 and DITA.
    I change the element prodinfo in the topic.edd from:
    General rule: (prodname), (vrmlist), (brand | series | platform | prognum | featnum | component)*
    to:
    General rule: (brand | series | platform | component)*
    When I import the element definition to the template everything is okay.
    When I insert the elements metadata, prodinfo, brand, series, platform and component into a topic I get the XML Parser Message that the element brand is not valid for the content model (prodname,vrmlist, ((brand|series|platform|prognum|featnum|component))*).
    When I delete the element brand in the topic I get the XML Parser Message that the element series is not valid for the content model (prodname,vrmlist, ((brand|series|platform|prognum|featnum|component))*).
    I change the element prodinfo in the topic.edd to:
    General rule: (brand)?, (series)?, (platform)?, (component)?
    ...and get the same Parser Message.
    I do not understand that. Is not it allowed to change the EDD this way without changing the DTD?
    With kind regards
    Nina

    Hi Nina...<br /><br />In general, the EDD and DTD need to sync up. You can remove elements from an EDD element definition's general rule, as long as the resulting elements are still valid to the DTD. But if changing a general rule creates an invalid structure, you'll need to also change the DTD to allow the revised structure.<br /><br />With DITA, it is common to remove inline elements from block-level elements. For example, you might want to remove the <msgblock>, <msgnum>, and <msgph> elements from the general rule of the <p> element .. this can be done easily in the EDD and the resulting structure remains valid with the DTD.<br /><br />However, what you're doing leaves the <brand> element as a child of <prodinfo> .. which is invalid. You'll get these errors when saving a file, since this is when the file is validated against the DTD.<br /><br />I do not recommend modifying the structure in such a way that requires you to modify the DTD. If you really need to do this, then you should consider making a specialization to support your revised model.<br /><br />I hope this helps.<br /><br />Cheers and Happy New Year!<br /><br />...scott

  • IDoc Packaging on Event Driven Message Processing Message Filter

    Hi Experts,
    I am testing IDoc Packaging on Event Driven Message Processing and I got struck at scheduling the job.
    My scenario is IDoc to File. I have created sender and receiver id with coresponding interfaces. While creating the message filter I have selected outbound channel --> IDoc Packaging Option n I have took 10 as Package Size in Messages. In SM 36 I have created JOB and in the step I have selected SXMS_START_JOBS.
    Now my problem is while creating the JOB in SM36 what condition should I select? How do I test this event driven message processing with IDoc packaging??
    Please guide me...
    Regards
    SAPTOTAL

    in the event, you should also have a job for RSEOUT00 scheduled so that the IDocs are send out as a package

  • Event Driven Message Processing in AAE

    Hi SDNers,
    I wanted to know if PI 7.1 EhP1 supports event driven message processing on AAE, means can I bypass ABAP engine by configuring the scenario with ICo (Integrated Configation) and still use the event driven message processing of PI?
    Regards,
    Gautam Purohit

    Hi Gautam Purohit,
    "Event-Driven Message Processing" is concept related to Integration Engine. So if your are using AAE (skipping IE), you cannot use it. [Link1|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwpi711/helpdata/en/7a/00143f011f4b2ee10000000a114084/frameset.htm]
    I think "Event-Driven Message Processing" and ccBPM are not related.

  • Event driven messaging in XI

    Hi All,
    We are using event driven messaging configuration in SXMB_ADM transaction to send IDOC in package to R/3.
    I have tried to create multiple Msg filters for the same sender and receiver which in turn creates multiple job IDs.
    But when we run the test, i see that the first Job execute and the msgs are assigned to the first Job but not all the Job IDs created.
    Does XI not allow for multiple filters to be created for same sender and receivers.
    pls help!

  • Prioritized Messages in combination with Event-Driven Message Processing

    Hi,
    our Scenario (EO): Sender A sends large IDocs to Receivers X and Y (> Split)
    1.
    What we did first:
    Prioritized Message Processing
    Sender A sends large Messages, therefore we prioritzied Messages in the IE with EO_MSG_SIZE_LIMIT > 4000.
    This works fine: Messages are queued in XBTL and XBTM and afterwards they are send to Receiver X and Y.
    2.
    What we did next:
    Event-Driven Message Processing
    Now we want to send the Message from Sender A to Receiver X directly and to Receiver Y at night time.
    We add Event-Driven Message Processing, Sender- and ReceiverID for A and Y,Job and so on...
    On it's own (without Prioritized Message Processing), this works fine: The messages are send at night time.
    But in combination (Event-Driven + Prioritized Message Processing) the messages only passes the Prioritized Message Processing and the Event-Driven is ignored.
    Our "Hop-List" for Split A to Y was:
    1. XBTL
    2. XBTJ2008...
    3. XBTM
    But actually all Messages passes:
    1.XBTL
    2.XBTM
    Why are the messages not filtered for the Event-Driven Message Processing (in combination with the Prioritized Message Processing)?

    It was an error in the SourceCode and is now corrected by SAP:
    Hinweis 1295746 - XI Runtime: Fehler in Ereignisgesteuerte Messageverarbeitung

  • XML driven DataGroup & lastResult or selected item

    I am using a xml driven DataGroup to display images with a itemRenderer and custom layout. When an image is selected i want a new state to display with info from the selected item (image, name, description). Is this possible and how do i do it?
    code example;
              <s:HTTPService id="srv" url="http://...../data/catalog.xml" result="resultHandler(event)" />
              <s:DataGroup includeIn="Main" left="50" right="50" top="200" dataProvider="{items}" id="dg1"
                     horizontalCenter="0" itemRenderer="renderers.kitchensRenderer" click="currentState='details'">
                           <s:layout>
                               <layouts:FilteredTileLayout id="filterLayout" filteredItems="{filteredItems}" />
                           </s:layout>
              </s:DataGroup>
              <mx:Image id="image2" includeIn="details" width="720" height="450" top="75" horizontalCenter="0" src="???" />               how do i get the selected DataGroup item to display the correct image
               //kitchensRenderer
              <mx:Image id="image" width="72" height="45" horizontalCenter="0" source="{data.image}" />

    "implement the property in your model and update the renderer state based on that."
    I am a complete beginner and most of the code I got from TourDeFlex. Please can you explain how to do this or provide a code example, thanks
