XML parser in embedded OC4J

How can I add option to embedded OC4J, so it will take the xml parser I specified.
example as following.
-Dorg.xml.sax.driver=oracle.xml.parser.v2.SAXParser
Where I can setup in Jdeveloper?
or is some property files?

You can set options on JDeveloper's embedded OC4J from the Tools menu option "Embedded OC4J Server Preferences". You can read the documentation on this in JDeveloper's online help from within the product or at

  • Add virtual directory to orion-web.xml file of embedded OC4J instance

I'd like to add a virtual directory to the orion-web.xml file of the embedded OC4J application which comes with JDeveloper (version 10.1.3.3.0.4157). Every time I run my application however, a new orion-web.xml file is created which overwrites the orion-web.xml file with my virtual directory. The orion-web.xml is located in the <JDev_Home>\jdev\system\oracle.j2ee.10.1.3.41.57\embedded-oc4j\application-deployments\current-workspace-app\<app Name> directory.
Does anybody know a solution to this problem?
    Regards,

    hi there,
i have the same problem, all the configuration files are included in the EAR file, like application.xml,...
but the orion-web.xml is not included.
I dont have that option that you mencioned File->New->Deployment Descriptiors -> web...for oc4j...
I can create a EAR, WAR or JAR in File->New->Deployment Profiles.
I need the orion-web.xml to define the MIME types the servlet can return, is it really needed?

  • XML validation errors in embedded OC4J jazn.xml

    hi
If I open the jazn.xml of the embedded OC4J in JDeveloper 10.1.3.3.0 and select "Validate XML" from the context-menu on that file, I get these messages in the "XML Validation Errors - Log" :
    D:\oracle\jdevstudio10133\jdev\system\oracle.j2ee.10.1.3.41.57\embedded-oc4j\config\jazn.xml
        Error(10,28): <Line 10, Column 28>: XML-24535: (Error) Attribute 'schema-major-version' not expected.
        Error(10,28): <Line 10, Column 28>: XML-24535: (Error) Attribute 'schema-minor-version' not expected.
        Error(10,28): <Line 10, Column 28>: XML-24536: (Error) Missing Attribute 'filepath'
Error(10,28): <Line 10, Column 28>: XML-24536: (Error) Missing Attribute 'OC4J_INSTANCE_ID'Strange, because I'm not aware of any changes I've made to this file.
Could someone (from Oracle) please confirm that this is "intended", so I can exclude it as possible cause for the "security configuration issue" that I'm having.
    many thanks
    Jan Vervecken

    Thanks for your reply Frank.
If "the content seems to be correct" then the XML schema jazn-10_0.xsd might not be what it should be.
For the attributes "filepath" and "OC4J_INSTANCE_ID" it says they are "required", just like the validation by JDeveloper says, but they are not in the documentation.
For the attributes "schema-major-version" and "schema-minor-version" the documentation says:
"This attribute is not defined directly in the XSD for jazn.xml. It is according to the attributeGroup specification in the top-level OC4J XSD."
Although there is no exact reference in that documentation, and also not in jazn-10_0.xsd, that XSD could be oc4j-10_0.xsd because it defines this:
        <xsd:attributeGroup name="oc4j-schemaVersionAttributeType">
            <xsd:annotation>
<xsd:documentation>This type defines two different attributes which are intended to be used in the
root element of a schema document to define version 10.0 of the schema document.
                </xsd:documentation>
            </xsd:annotation>
            <xsd:attribute name="schema-major-version" type="xsd:integer" fixed="10"/>
            <xsd:attribute name="schema-minor-version" type="xsd:integer" default="0"/>
</xsd:attributeGroup>I'm not sure if it is the validation by JDeveloper that went wrong here, or the XML schema jazn-10_0.xsd that is incomplete about these "schema version" attributes.
Anyway, it seems OK to exclude it as possible cause for the "security configuration issue" that I'm having.

  • Migrating security settings from embedded oc4j to preconfigured oc4j

    Hi,
I was able to configure security in my 11g TP3 ADF application, and run it successfully against embedded oc4j.
Now, when I want to migrate this to preconfigured oc4j, I am getting ERROR:null.
Please see the steps I follow:
    set CLASSPATH=C:/JDeveloper/j2ee/home/jazn.jar;C:/JDeveloper/BC4J/lib/adf-share-base.jar;C:/JDeveloper/j2ee/home/lib/security-api.jar;

This is because, as I mentioned in the earlier mail, the webcenter preconfigured oc4j's configurations are read from the directory :

    Hi,
Try enabling java logging to see what the exact error is. That might give you an idea of what the error could be..
When I tried, I got the below error though I added jps-common.jar, which contains CredStoreResources, into the classpath
    java.util.MissingResourceException: Can't find oracle.security.jps.internal.common.resources.credstore.CredStoreResources bundle

P.S:check the destination file path. Are you sure that's correct. I believe It should be something like ""C:\Documents and Settings\nneelaka\Application Data\JDeveloper\system11.1.1.0.22.47.96\o.adfp.seededoc4j.11.1.1.0.

  • Problem with  Jdeveloper Embedded OC4J  XML parsing

    Hi all,
I am having a problem getting jdeveloper to work well. If I use jdeveloper to build the WAR file for my app and I deploy to Tomcat, the app runs fine with no error.
However, if I try to run my app within the jdeveloper, I get this error -
08/06/10 19:11:10 com.ibatis.dao.client.DaoException: Error while configuring DaoManager. Cause: java.lang.RuntimeException: XML Parser Error. Cause: oracle.xml.parser.v2.XMLDOMException: invalid character [ in name

I have tried to turn off XML parsing within Jdeveloper but no luck. I don't understand why jdeveloper will be trying to implicitly parse the XML doc, and wont even do it well.
Is there a way I can turn off Embedded OC4J XML parsing ? and let it just use the parser in the application ? I mean Tomcat works fine with this application.
    Please help !

I think maybe you use wrong adf lib when deploying your project to the OC4J.
You can update your oc4j in the jdev.[JDEV->Tools->ADF Runtime Installer-> Standalone OC4J].
    Good luck

  • How can I use a 3rd party XML parser such as xerces with OC4J ?

    Hi all tech experts,
I am using Oracle Application Server 10g Release 2 (10.1.2) and i have
installed Portal and Wireless and OracleAS Infrastructure on the same
    computer.
i tried all the solutions on this thread
Use of Xerces Parser in out application with Oracle App Server 9.0.4
    but still fighting.
I have also posted this query on OTN on following thread
How can I use a 3rd party XML parser such as xerces with OC4J?
    but no reply....
Please help me on this issue.
Since OC4J is preconfigured to use the Oracle XML parser which is xmlparserv2.jar.
i have read the following article which states that
OC4J is preconfigured to use the Oracle XML parser. The Oracle XML parser is fully JAXP 1.1 compatible and will serve the needs of applications which require JAXP functionality. This approach does not require the download, installation, and configuration of additional XML parsers.
The Oracle XML parser (xmlparserv2.jar) is configured to load as a system level library of OC4J through it's inclusion as an entry in the Class-Path entry of the oc4j.jar Manifest.mf file. This results in the Oracle XML parser being used for all common deployment and packaging situations. You are not permitted to modify the Manifest.mf file of oc4j.jar.
It must be noted that configuring OC4J to run with any additional XML parser or JDBC library is not a supported configuration. We do know customers who have managed to successfully replace the system level XML parser and the Oracle JDBC drivers that ship with the product, but we do not support this type of configuration due to the possibility of unexpected system behavior and system errors that might occur from replacing the tested and certified libraries.
If you absolutely must use an additional XML parser such as xerces, then you have to start OC4J such that the xerces.jar file is loaded at a level above the OC4J system classpath. This can be accomplished using the -Xbootclasspath flag of the JRE.
i have also run the following command
    java -Xbootclasspath/a:d:\xerces\xerces.jar -jar oc4j.jar
    but no success.
How could i utilize my jar's like xerces.jar and xalan.jar for parsing instead of OC4J in-built parser ?
All reply will be highly appreciated.
    Thnx in advance to all.

  • Swapping XML Parser and XSLT to Xalan 2.7.0 - Not Working (OC4J 10.1.3)

    Hi-
I'm trying to use the latest Xercies/Xalan classes in OC4J 10.1.3 as described in the How-To swap XML Parsers document:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/tech/java/oc4j/1013/how_to/how-to-swapxmlparser/doc/readme.html
What I can see happening is that the oracle.xml shared library is successfully 'turned off', but the xalan libraries are not added. Instead, the default xml classes that are distributed with the JDK become visible. For instance, using a slightly modified version of the index.jsp page from the how-to, I get this result:
------ Output from JSP page ----------------
    TransformerFactory Instance: org.apache.xalan.processor.TransformerFactoryImpl
    Transformer Instance: org.apache.xalan.transformer.TransformerIdentityImpl
Transformer Version: Xalan Java 2.4.1 (!!)
What I expect is for that last line to say version 2.7.0, which is the version of the xalan.jar included in my shared library (code to add that line to the how-to shown below).
I suspect what is happening is that the class loader is simply not letting a shared library override a system library - to do that you probably need to place the jar files in system endorsed directory.
Has anyone gotten this how-to to work - actually replacing the XML parser/transform classes with the latest Xalan classes? Are you sure it is seeing the current version you placed in the shared library?
    Thanks,
    Eric Everman

Steve - Thanks for responding on this.
The Xalan SQL extension is built into Xalan. The most painless way to try it out is to run it via JEdit: www.jedit.org
JEdit a OS Java application with a fairly painless install process (I'm assuming you already have a current JRE installed). Once its installed, you'll need to install the XSLT plugin - in JEdit goto Plugins | Plugin Manager | Install and pick the XSLT plugin. You'll need the Oracle JDBC classes on your classpath - this can be done by copying the oracle_jdbc4.jar into the [JEdit install directory]/jars directory.
Restart to load that jar and you should be all set.
I included a sample XSLT page at the bottom of this post that is somewhat of a template transform for the SQL extension - its more complicated then it needs to be, but it does some nice things with the results of the query. Save it as a file and make the appropriate changes to the 'datasource' parameter near the top of the file.
Then in JEdit, open the file and make sure the XSLT plugin is visible (Plugins | XSLT | XSLT Processor Toggle - or alternately dock it in the window via global prefs). In the XSLT plugin: Allow the current buffer to be used as the source, Add that same file as a stylesheet via the '+' button, and pick a result file at the bottom. Then click the 'Transform XML' button.
Troubleshooting: I seem to remember having some classpath errors when I tried this on windows, but others have had it work w/o issues. I do remeber that the XSLT plugin had a popup window that gave a pretty good explaintion of the problem, if it occurs. Also, for some reason the XSLT plugin will not create a new file for the output, so its often best to create a file first, then choose it as the output. Of course, you can always run a transformation from the command line or w/in an applicatoin. Full docs on the Xalan SQL extension can be found at: http://xml.apache.org/xalan-j/extensionslib.html#sql
Here is my sample XSLT transform using the SQL extension:

  • Jazn-data.xml file, authentication in web.xml and embedded oc4j

I've defined new security-roles, security-constraints and an authentication method in my web.xml file and i've created a new jazn-data.xml file that holds the different users and their groups.
If I want to link the security-roles of the web.xml file to the roles in the jazn-data.xml file I always need an orion-application.xml file, is this correct?
If I want to deploy an application as this to the embedded container the security won't work, I'm always getting the '403 forbidden' page.
Can somebody point me out how I need to define security for an embedded and standalone environment when using authentication and jazn-data.xml file + how do I deploy this to a standalone oc4j and how to get this same application to work in the embedded oc4J.

    hi "romanna"
Part of the answer to "Can somebody point me out how I need to define security ..." can probably be found in the "Oracle ADF Developer's Guide" that has "18 Adding Security to an Application".

  • Starting embedded OC4J gives error XML-20108: Start of rootelement expected

    Product JDeveloper 10.1.2.0.0 (Build 1811)
Up until recently I never got any errors when I started the embedded OC4J-server.
Now I get the above error.
It looks as if JDeveloper tries to access server.xml twice. The first process is updating the server.xml, and when the OC4J-server is starting up, it also tries to access server.xml, which is empty at that time (being updated by the other process).
    How can I solve this?

  • Commit working in embedded OC4J but not in Application Server 10g

    Hi all
i am creating an application using Jdeveloper 9051+adf+uix.
here in a form i have a Create,Delete button and a commit button. after creating or deleting a row , i press commit button and it works fine in embedded OC4J.
But after deploying this application on Oracle Application Server 10g , create and delete buttons are working (means data in form is getting submitted) but commit button is not working (commit button is enabled but data is not getting commited in the table.) after pressing the commit button the form is coming back to its previous position and the commit button is yet enabled. if i presses it second time then button goes disabled but data is not commited at all.
Please provide me solution to this problem.
    Thanks

    #### Cannot run application BlazeProj2 due to error deploying to DefaultServer.
[Application BlazeProj2 stopped and undeployed from Server Instance DefaultServer]
    Process exited.
The problem is that I want to run the application on the Integrated server because I want to add some SOA components on it.
Is there any way to get rid of this "missing class" error?
Thank you in advance for the help.

Hi, check if you have an existing deployment profile for your project and make sure the google maps jar is been added to the profile. When you use integrated the application gets deployed to the server so it takes all of its libraries and gets them deployed into the server. With embedded everything gets loaded from your application directory.
If you don't have a deployment profile, create one and manually add the gMaps library and see if this time the integrated server uses your new deployment profile.
    Cheers,
    Juan C.

  • JBO-33001 bc4j.xcfg missing with Jdev 9.0.5.1 embedded OC4J

I've got an application that I've been trying to migrate from Jdev 10g Preview (9.0.5) to Production (9.0.5.1) for a week now. The steps I've had to follow so far are:
    1) Install Jdev 9.0.5.1
    2) Run it and allow all workspaces/settings to be migrated
    3) Shut down and rename the system9.0.5.1.1605 to something else.
    4) Restart and say No to migrate
    5) Open my application workspaces again.
This procedure seemed to get me correct library settings working with the correct XML schemas. However, now I can't test my BC4J/UIX application. I get the following message when I right-click on a DataAction and choose Run:
    500 Internal Server Error

This is happening in the embedded OC4J. How do I fix this?

I've managed to resolve this error. Somehow, my entire Model project got mis-represented in my ViewController. The package name was "model" in my Model project, yet somehow all of the Binding Contexts (UImodel.xml) files contains "com_paslists_model_..." for the name of my Application Module. To resolve the error, I first had to fix the references to my Application Module in the DataBindings.cpx file. Then, I had to exit Jdev completely and edit the UImodel.xml files by hand, replacing the invalid reference to my DataControl using the correct entry in the DataBindings.cpx file.
Now, everything seems to function correctly.
I don't know how this got so messed up, unless it was an error with migration.
