XML Publisher - how to make column as date format in excel output

Hi,
I am having a XML publisher report , output is excel format. There are some date fields in reports, which are being displayed as "General" type in excel.
Any way to restrict it in Date type only.
Please explain the solution in detail. I am using rtf template.

Hi Sandeep,
I have the same issue. After looking at a lot of replies from various blogs, some suggest to use this format in your rtf.It did not work for me. You could try this and check if it works for you.
<?format-date:datefied;’yyyy/MM/dd’?> where the format can be specific to your use.

The above code executes well with no problem at all!
As you can see the file to which i create and save and open my pdf report is
AssignedDialyzer.pdf.
The column headers of table in pdf report from c# windows forms using iTextSharp are
"Reprocessing Date","Patient Name","Dialyzer(Manufacturer,Size)","No.of Reuse","Verification" and
"DialyzerID".
However the problem i am facing is after execution and opening of document is my
column headers in table in pdf report from
c# and datas in it all appear in bold.
I have browsed through net regarding to solve this problem but with no success.
What i want is my pdf report from c# should be similar to following format which i was able to accomplish in vb6,adodb with MS access using iTextSharp.:

How to make column range based on a column in Oracle BI 11g

I want to know, how to make column range from a column in oracle bi 11g.
for example!
I have a column amounts and I want to build on this with other values of quantity, other column range 1-9,10-49,50-99,100-249, 249 o more.

You cannot add columns dynamically. But you can define a maximum number of numbers and then hide unused columns in your form useing SET_ITEM_PROPERTY(..,VISIBLE, PROPERTY_FALSE);

Column in DATE format

Hello Everybody
I have a report did Apex, this report has a column which data type is DATE but by default the Apex put it in the format : DD-MM-YYYY HH:MI:SS
But I only want that his column has the format DD/MM/YYYY
I know that is posible convert this field using the function TO_CHAR(date, format) but in the report I want to sort this field considering that this filed is in date data type not in char.
Also I know that I can use the function EXTRACT for concatening the day, month and year and after convert to date in the format 'dd/mm/yyyy'; but I don´t want to write many code.
I don't want to do some like this:

Hi Eric
One of the really cool features of the later versions of APEX is the ability to set a default "Application Date Format".
This is done in the Application xx>Shared Components>Definition then select the "Globalization" tab.
You can select from a list of pre-defined date formats, or enter your own.
My preference is "DD-Mon-YYYY" which is not in the list.
Just leave your date fields as regular DATE type in the select (no formatting in the select).
This Application Date Format is then used as the default for ALL dates for which you don't specifically set (another) date format
This is also selecable in the Display options of a "Date Picker (Use Application Date Format)" LOV - for any date page items that you want to provide a date picker.
This really simplifies the effort in getting a consistent look and feel - and keeping a constant standard throughout the application.
The other benefit is that you can make a change in one place, and ALL the dates (without a specific date format specification) will change format - just like that.
This is just one of the features that makes APEX the most productive - and cool - systems around.

OBIEE 11g is having " localedefinitions.xml " file at this Location C:\Oracle\Middleware\Oracle_BI1\bifoundation\web\display
in my case i installed at C:\Oracle\MIddleware.
so
1- Stop BI Server from EM
2- Navigate to this Location C:\Oracle\Middleware\Oracle_BI1\bifoundation\web\display. in your case oracle home will be different
3- take a backup of this file localedefinitions.xml "
4- modify it and save
5- bring BI Server up.

I would suggest you to change the form language to English (UK), Here are the steps:-
1. Open your form in FormsCentral
2. Clik on Options tab
3. Click on Language and Formatting and check out the selection for Form Language and make sure English (U.K.) is selected and the default date format should be day/month/year.

How does one change the date format for PlayMemories Home folders?

I am using PlayMemories Home Version 2.0.00.11271 and have many folders within it which contain only photographs imported from my Sony DSC-H9. Unfortunately, PlayMemories Home insists upon dating all folders in a month/day/year manner; and this makes little sense if one wishes to have the folders listed in logical chronological order. How can I change the date format to year/month/day? Changing the name of each folder, one by one, will take a very long time! Your helpful advice in this matter will be greatly appreciated. I too thought that the folder naming format was obviously wrong and couldn't find a way to change it. I do agree that placing photos in folders according to when they were taken is a great idea. I had been considering writing some software to do just that. After discovering that PlayMemories does it, I had it re-import all my photos. Then I wrote a small Perl script to rename all of the folders into year-month-day format. Included here is the Perl script. It only acts on a single folder - use it on the root folder where all the PlayMemories folders are. It will rename all folders currently in a month-day-year format. I used it without problems but of course there is no guarentee that it is error free. This should work with any common version of Perl. How can I change the date format in Reminders and in Notes?

How can I change the date format in both Notes and Reminders? Preference on Imac and Settings in IOS do not allow me to change the format in those 2 apps.
I Like to see 10oct rather than 10/10, as an example.

I do not have Mavericks or iOS - but the first thing I would do is reset the defaults - I'll use Mavericks as an example

    Open System Preferences.
    From the View menu, choose Language & Region.
    Click the Advanced button.
    Click the Dates tab.
    Click the Restore Defaults button.

Here's the result AppleScript i use to grab the " 'Short Date' ' + ' 'Short Time' " to paste into download filenames - works good until I try to post it here - the colon " : " is a no-no but is fine in the Finder
Looks like iOS Settings are a bit less robust

How to get Default (System) Date Format Pattern?

How to get system default date format which is defined in Regional Setting of Control Panel.
We can get an instance of DateFromat using DateFormat.getDateInstance(DateFormat.SHORT) but problem is that there is no toPattern() exist in class DateFormat.
However toPattern() exist in class SimpleDateFormat but there is no costructor like SimpleDateFormat(DateFormat)
So please advise me, how can I get system short date format pattern?

I reterieve the system date format but not which is currently defined in regional setting of control panel but it returns the format which is installed by default when windows(os) is installed.

Date format in excel

hi all,
i am using form6i.
i am writing data into excel sheet(using ole2 package). i have one date column among them. The date format in excel should be in 'DD/MM/YYYY'.
In my form i have date format like 'YYYY/MM/MM HH:MI:SS'. so i have converted that column using
TO_CHAR(TRUNC(:date_col),'DD/MM/YYYY').So i am getting output in the format what i need,but still in excel i am seeing data format as 'DD-MM-YY'.
is any conversion is required while writing into excel?
but when i set the excel data format should be in 'DD-MON-YYYY'
i am getting output as '26-JAN-10' but i want output in excel like
'26/JAN/2010'.

If you want the field to be treated like a DATE in excel, you have to set the column-format to DATE and apply the appropiate Format. To get the needed ole-statements, start the macro-recorder, do the changes in excel and then check whats written in the macro and convert it to OLE.
If the field should only be shown as a date, you can put a ' in fornt of the date-value.

I was enable to deny access for the user roles in SSAS about denying access the data from the column but the next thing is that I do not know how dimension table and column not to be available in the excel.

According to your description, you want the Manager role can see all dimension table and its data column. And the Employee role can't view all table, column and data, right? Currently we don't have a direct option to complete hide the dimensions or attributes
to some roles. However you can use workarounds below.
Using cube perspectives and hide the cube dimension attribute then set the perspectives to role.
