XML Publisher Report - Unable to see image stored on External server

Hi
I need to put image on XML report that is on different instance for that i had put a dummy image on XML template and in the WEB TAB for that image i put the tag like url:{ATTRIBUTE3} and attribute3 is having correct value we are also showing it on the report , but at the run time i can only see the dummy image of the template and the URL, not the actual image , URL points to a image on different server we can see the image when we place that URL in Web browser.
Please help me , Thx in advance.

From the documentation:
URL Reference
1.Insert a dummy image in your template.
2.In Microsoft Word's Format Picture dialog box select the Web tab. Enter the following syntax in the Alternative text region to reference the image URL:
url:{'http://image location'}
For example, enter: url:{'http://www.oracle.com/images/ora_log.gif'}
Element Reference from XML File
1.Insert a dummy image in your template.
2.In Microsoft Word's Format Picture dialog box select the Web tab. Enter the following syntax in the Alternative text region to reference the image URL:
url:{IMAGE_LOCATION}
where IMAGE_LOCATION is an element from your XML file that holds the full URL to the image.
You can also build a URL based on multiple elements at runtime. Just use the concat function to build the URL string. For example:
url:{concat(SERVER,'/',IMAGE_DIR,'/',IMAGE_FILE)}
where SERVER, IMAGE_DIR, and IMAGE_FILE are element names from your XML file that hold the values to construct the URL.
This method can also be used with the OA_MEDIA reference as follows:
url:{concat('${OA_MEDIA}','/',IMAGE_FILE)}

    Hi Sairam,
    Check the checkbox Convert database Null values to default and Convert other Null values to default under Edit -> Report Options and then refresh the report.
    If this does not work you can contact SAP Support.

  • Unable to print xml publisher report in excel format in R12

    Hi All,
    We are unable to print xml publisher report in excel format in R12. We were able to see the excel output but it's printing junk characters while printing and it's printing without any issue with PDF format.
    Please let me know how to fix this issue.
    Thanks,
    Raja

    Hi Raja,
    I presume you have gone through the debugging process of testing your template locally first to get the expected result.....
    If yes, this note might probably be helpful "Changing Output Format to RTF or Excel in XML Publisher Request Does Not Display Output Correctly (Doc ID 404512.1)"

  • How to generate XML Publisher report from PLSQL Stored Procedure in APPS

    Hi,
    I have concurrent program of type PLSQL Stored procedure.I need to generate XML Publisher report from the same.I have changed the output of the concurrent program as "XML" but when I tried running it,the XML tags are not generated.Due to this I am unable to create the template.Its a urgent issue.
    Please help me out .
    Thanks in advance.
    Kaveri

    Hi Kaveri
    Sadly there is nothing magic about that output field. The only program type that you can flip it to XML and then magically get XML is for Oracle Reports. For plsql you will need to recode the plsql to generate XML rather than text that you have now.
    You have some options, best option first:
    1. Move the sql to a data template - check the user guide and blog for help or
    2. Use SQL XML or XMLGEN (not great for large datasets) or
    3. Use dbms_output.put_line and write the XML file manually - not performant at all

    Hi Vetsrini,
    We're on 10.1.3.4.1 and siebel 8.1.1.3 and when trying to open a report from within siebel in the output format EXCEL (selected from the parameter applet), it just opens the document in the browser.
    Is there a way to get it to open directly in Excel? I guess the reason is the file extension*.EXCEL, how could we get the extension to be in excel format (xls)?
    We don't want our users to have to do this themself.

  • Invoking XML Publisher Report from PL/SQL

    Hi,
    I have a PL/SQL procecedure which invokes the Concurrent Request for the XML Publisher Report. This one finishes with a warning and I get 'Unable to publish output' when I try to view the output. Exact Error: "Unable to find the published output for this request "
    But if I run the same report using Concurrent program, the Report executes with no error. Also the desired output is coming. I am not sure where I am doing wrong in code.
    My code which invokes the XML Publisher Report (from PL/SQL package)is something like this:
    declare
    x boolean;
    l_no_of_copies varchar2(45);
    l_printername varchar2(45);
    l_print_style varchar2(45);
    l_result boolean;
    y number;
    begin
    x := fnd_request.add_layout (template_appl_name => 'XXTMG', template_code => 'XXT_5001_BOL_T', template_language => 'EN', template_territory => 'US', output_format => 'XML');
    l_no_of_copies := fnd_profile.VALUE ('XXTMG_SH_BOL_REPORT_NO_OF_COPIES');
    l_printername := fnd_profile.VALUE ('XXTMG_SH_BOL_REPORT_PRINTER');
    l_print_style := NULL; --For setting the Printer Options
    l_result := fnd_request.set_print_options (l_printername, l_print_style, l_no_of_copies, TRUE, 'N');
    l_result := fnd_request.add_printer (l_printername, 0);
    y := fnd_request.submit_request ('XXTMG', 'XXT_5001_BOL', '', TO_CHAR (SYSDATE, 'YYYY/MM/DD HH24:MI:SS'), FALSE, 'CH-120079') ;
    end;
    Please let me know where I might be going wrong
    Thanks

    Hi Sumit,
    You can try with this code:
    exec dbms_application_info.set_client_info(org_id)
    exec fnd_global.APPS_INITIALIZE(user_id,resp_id,appl_id);
    declare
    x boolean;
    l_no_of_copies varchar2(45);
    l_printername varchar2(45);
    l_print_style varchar2(45);
    l_result boolean;
    y number;
    begin
    x := fnd_request.add_layout ('XXTMG' --template_appl_name
              ,'XXT_5001_BOL_T' --template_code
              ,'en' --template_language
         ,'US' --template_territory
         ,'XML' --output_format
    if (x=TRUE) then
    y := fnd_request.submit_request (
                        'XXTMG'           --application
                        ,'XXT_5001_BOL'      --program
                        ,SYSDATE          --start_time
                        ,FALSE               --sub_request
                        ,'CH-120079'          --argument1 (Program's Parameter)
    if y>0 then
              dbms_output.put_line('Request ID '||y);
    end if;
    end if; --if (x=TRUE) then
    end;
    Make sure that program has only one input parameter. If program has other parameters then you can pass those parameters like argument1, argument2... etc.
    Now you can see this submited request in your application using your user id. If you able to see your request in concurrent request then you can add printer parameters in this programs.
    You don't need to pass all 100 parameters.
    I am executing many programs/reports using this code.
    Thanks

  • Copyright symbol in XML Publisher report

    Hi All,
    I have the following requirement in XML Publisher report,
    The user may include © (Copyright) symbol in the goal section (performance management module) and save it to oracle.
    It is storing in oracle correctly and i am seeing the ascii char is 169 and it is support by oracle.
    But, when i run the XML publisher report, getting the error "The webpage cannot be found"
    Its happening only when there is a non-ascii characters like copyright symbol. Otherwise, it is working fine.
    How to resolve this? Please share your ideas.
    Thanks,

  • XMl Publisher Template - Unable to repeat the outer group

    I am working on XML publisher report and as part of that working on template, the Output columns are defined in header group and lines group. I was using for:each to display the items in columns and I was unable to repeat the outer group for each line.
    I was using for-each:OUTER_GROUP and i was able to print only the first line of the INNER_GROUP. or for-each:INNER_GROUP and i was able print the lines but unable to print the header items, wondering how can i print outergroup items. (I saw that like '/' used to print outer group columns), Can someone advise me on this.
    Thanks!

    Use as many '../' as needed to traverse up the path from where you are.
    Without seeing your xml structure, it would be difficult to provide the exact path the elements that you are trying to get to.

  • XML Publisher report giving XML tag output

    Dear All,
    Please note that we need to convert the standard report 'Bill of Material Comparison Report' to XML Publisher report.
    But we were not able to get the desired PDF output instead it shows only XML output.
    This report is not a direct concurrent program call to rdf, this concurrent program is triggered from a function.
    How can we overcome this issue..,
    Please update,
    Many thanks...,

    Hi Kiran,
    Please find the below info:
    Could you please confirm whether you have made the standard program's executable as 'XDODTEXE', and created a data definition with the rdf shorname and Data templte with the template defined.
    -- Done
    Could you also provide how your calling the report and when the request submitted are u able to see the template name on the submitted request ?
    -- The report is called through the application (in Bill of materials through a Form Function) When we select the comparison, it will display a comparison form, where we need to select the appropriate parameters and a button called 'Report' if clicked, it will fire the 'Bill of Material Comparison Report' concurrent program
    But after the concurrent program submission, we cannot see any template been attached to the submitted conc. pprog. but the template is been already attached to the concurrent program through the XML Publisher Administrator
    Many thanks....

  • XML publisher report works fine in English environment but NOT in Dutch

    We are using Oracle Reports to generate XML file which will be input for XML Publisher report . Our requirement is to generate report in Dutch (Netherlands) language.
    We developed a report which is working fine in English. Then we copied this RDF file to NL directory also registered concurrent program in dutch language but then it stopped working and gives error.
    Basically it doesn't create any XML output .
    Please help . Its URGENT.
    Thanks in Advance.
    Manoj

    Hi Norman,
    Thanks for the reply, actually my query was failing as it was trying to compare English date format (1-MAY-2007) which was stored in a DFF with Dutch date (1-MIE-2007) database format ,so it was not generating any xml output.
    We have resolved this issue but now we are facing few other issue which are ,
    I have created a template which has a current date field. I inserted current date in Dutch format i,e, (1-juni-2007), but concurrent program output appears with english date format (1-June-2007).
    Same template has the customer name with 'Title' and this also appear in english i.e.Sir , in place of dutch title (Dhr.)
    Is it possible to display .pdf output with
    portrait (first page - Letter to customer)
    and landscape(second page - Invoice data details) styles for multiple customers in one request?
    We can do it for one customer by passing customer id so letter part (portrait output) is out of grouping and only data details (landscape) appear with multiple lines , but when we try to run it for multiple customers in one go , WITHOUT specifying a customer , it FAILS .
    Any help will be highly appreciated.
    Thanks - Manoj, Utrecht
