XML:selecting the value of a xml tag using plsql

Hi,
I have a table xx_table with one of the column xx_column which is of type XMLTYPE.I inserted the xml data into this column with xml data as below.

<task:systemVersionFlag></task:systemVersionFlag>
</task:userComment>
</userComments>
My question ,how do i select the value of the tag "comment" from the above xml data using plsql? Can we write a query to select the value of the tag "comment" to fetch "*********** Rejecting invoice **********" as value.
Regards,
Sandeep

If you have rights to modify tabular model then, you can create a measure in your Tabular model which returns previous week and then use this measure in Pivot Table.

  • In XML Output the values of Number column tags are not displayed properly

    Hi,
    Our Client have been using AR Invoice Print Program for a long time and it is heavily customized. Also they are using an old version of the RDF. So we have taken the latest version of the RDF (RAXINV.rdf) for Oracle Apps 11.5.10.2 by raising a SR and implement Client's old RAXINV.rdf into it.
    All was ok, but when we are running the program, the XML Output did not generate properly. For the Q_INVOICE query (G_ORDER_BY, G_INVOICE and G_INV_TERM group), the value of some of the scaler number columns are not appeared properly. The tags are coming correctly, but the value is appearing as '*', instead of the correct value. We have checked in the RDF Level (By putting srw.message and check in the log file) that those columns are having proper value. So there is no issue with the RDF.
    But because of the above mentioned problem, the some of the PDF output field values also is not generated correctly.
    I think that because of the lexical parameters which was implementing the Q_INVOICE query (&COMMON_QUERY) this issue is coming. Because the issue is only in the Q_INVOICE query group (G_ORDER_BY, G_INVOICE and in G_INV_TERM group) not in any other query group.
    There is no problem with the scaler character columns. The issue is only with the number columns.
    Also we have checked that if we hardcode the value of the number columns in the above mentioned lexical parameter, this problem doesn't appear.
    If we put TO_CHAR function to those number columns in the lexical parameter (COMMON_QUERY), then this issue get solved. But we can't do it because of performance issue and also Client won't approve it.
    Please help.
    With Thanks and Regards

    I don't know how to read the code you pasted or I would have checked this myself.
    Do your fields in the internal table reference dictionary objects or elementary types? If not using dictionary types, the column names will be blank by default. If you can't change your fields to be dictionary types, you can try this to change the column names:
    I made a method inside my local class to add the names:
            call method set_colname
              EXPORTING iv_tab = alv_tab
                        iv_colid = 'xxxx'  "fieldname from the table
                        iv_stxt = text-t54
                        iv_mtxt = text-t55
                        iv_ltxt = text-t55.
    METHOD set_colname .
      data:
              alv_cols type REF TO cl_salv_columns_table,
              alv_col type REF TO cl_salv_column.
      TRY .
    *... Change fieldnames
            call METHOD iv_tab->get_columns RECEIVING value = alv_cols.
            call method alv_cols->get_column EXPORTING columnname = iv_colid RECEIVING value = alv_col.
            IF iv_stxt <> ''.
              CALL METHOD alv_col->set_short_text EXPORTING value = iv_stxt.
            ENDIF.
            IF iv_mtxt <> ''.
              CALL METHOD alv_col->set_medium_text EXPORTING value = iv_mtxt.
            ENDIF.
            IF iv_ltxt <> ''.
              CALL METHOD alv_col->set_long_text EXPORTING value = iv_ltxt.
            ENDIF.
       CATCH cx_salv_not_found.
      ENDTRY.
    ENDMETHOD. "set_colname

  • Select the value ending with 'S'

    Hello ABAP experts,
    I am a BW guy, not much into ABAP. There is a small coding requirment. I am not sure if this can be done in one statment.
    select the value from the table which has value ending with 'S'.
    Solutions
    -- I can loop the table with 'LOOP'
    -- is there any statment to achive the value ending with 'S'
    Any suggestions are highly valuable.
    Many thx in advance.
    Sandhya

    Hi,
    Just try this.
    No need of loop.
    delete itab1 where ptr1 cp 'S' or ptr1 cp 's'.
    For more information about CP , just have a look on this.
    The logical expression
    <f1> CP <f2>
    is true if <f1> matches the pattern <f2>. If <f2> is of type C, you can use the following wildcards in <f2>:
    •     for any character string: *
    •     for any single character: +
    Trailing spaces are ignored and the comparison is not case-sensitive. If the comparison is true, the system field SY-FDPOS contains the offset of <f2> in <f1> . If it is false, SY-FDPOS contains the length of <f1>.
    If you want to perform a comparison on a particular character in <f2>, place the escape character # in front of it. You can use the escape character # to specify
    •     characters in upper and lower case
    •     the wildcard character "" (enter:#)
    •     the wildcard character "" (enter: # )
    •     the escape symbol itself (enter: ## )
    •     blanks at the end of a string (enter: #___ )

  • How to store the value of request message and use it in Response mapping

    Hi All,
    We have an requirement where we need to store the data coming in Request Mapping and use the stored value in Response Mapping. Can anybody help us in how to proceed?
    Thanks
    Sujata

    Hi!
    In Mapping you may use the RFC Lookup function to store values in database table during request mapping and to read values from database table during response mapping.
    You can also use an ABAP or Java Mapping "in front of your" message mapping to store/read the values.
    You can also use an Adapter Module (if applicable for the adapter type you use) and/or a UDF to store the data e.g. in Dynmaic Configuration Header of Request Message and to read these data from Dynamic Configuration Header of Response Message. But this works only for synchronous scenarios (and it means overhead in your message traffic).
    Hope these thinkings help you o find the most suitable way for your concrete scenario!

  • How to capture the value of certain HTML tags

    Hi All,
    I would like to retrieve the values of the following HTML outputs and is wondering whether there is a simpler method to do:
    <td class="propType"><b>Address</b></td>
                            <td class="propType"><b>Agent Office</b></td>
                            <td class="propType"><b>Result</b></td>
                            <td class="propType" align="right"><b>Amount</b></td>
                                    <td colspan="6"><strong class="propType">
                                    <td><strong>Date</strong></td>
                                    <td><strong>Amount</strong></td>

                                    <td class="even">Di Jones RE</td>
                                    <td class="even">Andrew Hennessy</td>One awkard method is by using the stringbuffer as follows:
    String greaterthanSignedList[] = greaterthanSigned.split(">") to pickup all the text that comes after the greater than (ie ">" sign)...
    String lessthanSignedList[] = lessthanSigned.split("</") to get the string before the less than (ie "</" sign) ...
    Here are the output that I am looking for:
    Address
    Agent Office
    Result
    Amount
    Date
    Amount
    Agent Office
    Selling Agent
    Aug-07
    $2,925,000

    However, I am sure that there must be an easier way to do this. Would anyone be able to point me to the right direction?

    Only 1 option is needed. ie either XSLT, SAX, DOM... whichever is the simplest.The name Simple API for XML kind of says it all, but you might need to write a lot of unnecessary code. I like to write an XSL stylesheet that converts the input data into something that I can easily parse.
    The Java code looks like this:
    PipedReader result = new PipedReader();
    Writer resultWriter = new PipedWriter(result);
    TransformerFactory transFact = TransformerFactory.newInstance();
    Transformer trans = transFact.newTransformer(new StreamSource(stylesheet));
    trans.transform(new StreamSource(xmlInput), new StreamResult(resultWriter));
    resultWriter.close();Writing the XSL stylesheet should be trivial in your case, but you can do a lot with it.
    I suggest you toy around a bit with both XSLT and SAX. Traversing the DOM manually is not really advisable.

  • Unable to select the value from a list item in forms 6i

    Hi ,
    I'am using forms 6i. I have created a list item in my form as below.
    Item_type = list item
    list style - popup list
    elements in list - A, B, C,D
    When I open the form all the above values are displayed for the list item. But I'am unable to select the item( either A,B,C,D).
    Please let me know if I need to add any thing else programatically to acheive this. The block on whixh these values are diplayed is a datablock.
    This is very urgent. Any suggestions would be of great help.
    Thanks
    Deepthi

    If you have a list item where you have:
    Display A value 1
    Display B value 2
    Display C value 3
    Display D value 4
    If want to initial the value of the item to be A, you can set the initial value of the item to 1 in the property pane.
    Otherwise in an initialisation triger have
    :block.list_item := 1;

  • Converting string(which is an xml from the java side) to xml in flex

    Hi,
       I have an xml from the java side which i send as string over amf. I need to convert this to xmllist or xml and bind it to a tree. Could some one help me in doing this. My label field needs to be displayName
    this is my xml that comes as string to the flex side
    <Menu>
      <MenuItem>
        <id>1</id>
        <displayName>Add</displayName>
        <menuList>
          <MenuItem>
            <id>3</id>
            <displayName>Form1</displayName>
            <menuList/>
          </MenuItem>
          <MenuItem>
            <id>4</id>
            <displayName>Form2</displayName>
            <menuList/>
          </MenuItem>
        </menuList>
      </MenuItem>
      <MenuItem>
        <id>2</id>
        <displayName>Delete</displayName>
        <menuList>
          <MenuItem>
            <id>5</id>
            <displayName>Form1</displayName>
            <menuList/>
          </MenuItem>
          <MenuItem>
            <id>6</id>
            <displayName>Form2</displayName>
            <menuList/>
          </MenuItem>
        </menuList>
      </MenuItem>
    </Menu>

    Well, for Binding you will probably need to further convert to XMLListCollection or ArrayCollection.
    Not sure.
    However, that is the way to convert String to XML.

  • When i change the value of a combo box using a property node it displays the value not the item label

    I am using a combo box as a select list for text serial commands.  I have items like "engineering", "GUI", and "Scan" for the commands "MDE", "MDN", and MDS respectively which i have input as the corresponding value in the combo box.  so for example the label "engineering" has the value "MDE" in the combo box items list.  when the Vi starts it needs to read the current value MDE, MDN, or MDS and then i want it to display on the front panel the item text corresponding to that command value.
    To do this i have tried to read the serial command, ie MDS and then wire that to a "value" property of a property node of the combo-box, but instead of displaying the corresponding item label, "Scan", it displays the value "MDS" on the front panel instead.  i want the front panel to use the label text when choosing and displaying but the block diagram to use the serial commands.  Can this be done with a combo box?  I'm trying to use a combo box so i can keep it all text and avoid having to build a case statement to convert enums or rings from a numerical value to the text command.
    The correct text value is wired to the value property and it does exist in the combo-box.  I have unchecked "values match items" and selected to not allow undefined values.

    Don't use the value property node.  Use the Text.Text property node.  When creating the property node, select Text, then in the next pop-up box, select Text.

  • How to pass select option value to function module while using service call

    Hi,
    Thank s for your reply. In fact im doing similar with following variation:
    i) collected range values using get_range* method.
    ii) separate low and high values as:
    read table <field2> index 1 into wa_range.
    vert2_low = wa_range-low.
    vert2_high = wa_range-high.
    (Please note that in RFC I have taken two importing parameter as s_vert_lo and s_vert_hi)
    iii) Now setting these RFC attribute as:
    lo_el_importing->set_attribute(
        EXPORTING
          name =  `S_VERT_LO`
          value = vert2_low ).
    and
    lo_el_importing->set_attribute(
        EXPORTING
          name =  `S_VERT_HI`
          value = vert2_high ).
    iv) In RFC im having my query as :
    select <fld list> from BUT000 into table itab where vertical in r_vert.
    Here, r_vert is a range defined as:
    ranges r_vert for <fld refrence>
    r_vert-sign = 'I'.
    r_vert-option = 'BT'.
    r_vert-low = S_VERT_LO.
    r_vert-high = S_VERT_HI.
    append r_vert.
    Issue here is with ranges. if im passing both low and high values it is fine but if only low value being passed it is not giving me any record.
    Please suggest.

  • How to set the value of an radio button using set_radio_button_property

    I'd like to set the value of an radio button dynamically, depending of the situation.
    (=> the value which the object returns to the radio group)
    Means: the 'radio button value' of my object 'rb_1' shall be 1, in other circumstances 99 and so on.
    Is it possible to set this value at runtime ?

    the problem is as Gerd wrote:
    there are two or more radio buttons in an option group.
    Their value depends on the text objext t_field.
    If t_field is "car" the value of radio button 1 shall be 75, button 2: 90 and button 3 115.
    if t_field is "bus" the value of radio button 1 shall be 250, button 2: 275 and button 3 300 and so on.
    My problem is to set the value of the radio buttons at runtime after choosing/typing the value of the text field t_field.

    Hi Rajeev,
    To retrieve a FilterContainer you will need to traverse the report structure:
    ReportStructure boReportStructure = boDocumentInstance.getStructure();
    ReportContainer boReportContainer = (ReportContainer) boReportStructure.getReportElement(0);
    FilterContainer boFilterContainer = null;
    if (boReportContainer.hasFilter()) {
         boFilterContainer = boReportContainer.getFilter();
    } else {
         boFilterContainer = boReportContainer.createFilter(LogicalOperator.AND);
    Calling boDocumentInstance.getStructure() will retrieve the entire structure for the document.
    Calling boReportStructure.getReportElement(0) will retrieve the structure for the first report of the document.
    Hope this helps.
