XML source file path (LINUX vs. WINDOWS)

Hello, we are sourcing data from XML for a project. RPD development is being done in Windows and then the RPD is getting deployed to the Linux env.
How can i make sure the path translate from Windows to Linux?
Windows path can be C:\myobieedata\region.xml
How can this be translated into Linux path?
Your help is appreciated.
Regards,

Just edit the connection pool to use the valid location of the files in Linux and copy that RPD over to the linux box. You can even edit it 'on-line' on the Linux environment and make the change there.
As an example I'd check the sample sales connection pool that was configured when you installed OBIEE on Linux and observe the difference to the sample sales connection pool when you installed on windows.

  • Xml based file path problem on Windows

    Hi
    I'm having a problem with a Flash based slideshow based on
    the tutorial one from here
    http://www.adobe.com/support/flash/applications/jpeg_slideshow_xml/index.html
    I've added a timed nextSlide function but basically left the
    actionscript the same apart from that.
    The problem is that the file works fine in a html file on any
    Mac browser I care to test in, Firfox,Netscape,Safari and even
    IE5.2 but when I try it in Windows IE6 or firefox, no picture s or
    titles show. I've tried this under parallels from a "shared"
    folder, and also on a real pc from the website.
    I also tried the original tutorial file and it doesn't seem
    to work either.
    Can anyone cast any light on this problem?
    I thought it was the different way paths are defined on Mac
    & Windows ie / vs \ so I put everything at the same level and
    redefined the paths in the xml to be at the same level , but still
    no go on Windows.
    Help! please!

    Hello!
    Does anyone have any idea what the problem is with this?
    The example is from the support section of this site and it
    doesn't work. Surely an Adobe support person has a comment.

  • Generate xml source file for Oracle Order Capture Print Quote

    Hi,
    I am new to xml and need to work on creating templates for Print Quote.
    I am trying to generate the xml source file for which I enabled the report in system administrator and set the output to XML and assigned to Quoting Reports responsiblity. I then assigned XML Report Publisher to the same responsiblity.
    I ran the report (Print Quote) and then I am trying to run the XML Report Publisher but I cannot get the request id in the list of values.
    I am able to generate xml source file for other reports like Printed Purchase Order etc.,
    The view output for the (Print Quote) report is as follows:
    <?xml version="1.0" ?>
    - <!-- Generated by Oracle Reports version 6.0.8.26.0
    -->
    <ASOPQTER />
    How do I get the xml source file? Or are there seeded templates that I can use to create more templates? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Ravi

    Hi, I am in the same position - did this issue ever ger resolved by anyone. I have done a few XMLP reports successfully now using the Word add-in, but customising the Quote output differs from other standard reports.
    If you look at the data definition for Quote it is a 'dummy' definition and has no XML file attached. Does anyone know how I can get the XML format for the report output?
    Also the template uses XSL-FO ?!?!?! rather than RTF - not sure how to work with this, the Oracle docs are not very helpful in this regard either.
    Has anyone successfully managed to customise the Quote print report? Many thanks,
    Roger

  • Take Source file path in sender adapter from an environment variable .

    Hi,
    Is it possible to take source file path(half file path) dynamically in sender file adapter.
    Please suggest any alternative to this.

    Hi,
    One option, use Dynamic Configuration and set the values in the Mapping.
    By the ways, the File Directory and the Filename are taken runtime in the file adapters after transportation.
    Only if you are using FTP will you need to key in the FTP addess user id password etc.
    Refer -- same way try for File adapter
    Dynamic Configuration of Some Communication Channel Parameters using Message Mapping
    Ps Note : I have personally never tried it to use the Dynamic Configuration for file path. But you can try.
    Thanks

  • FSRM [Source File Path] and DFS

    Hi,
    When i use the [Source File Path] in a notification email it does not show the source file path but instead shows d:\xxxx which is the local drive of the server hosting the destination share.
    The users has a lot of problems with file types that are not allowed. But i can't find a good way to show them the file that has been blocked with out showing them the local server drives or shares and this is not a good way.
    Any suggestions to what could be done so i can show the users what files have been blocked?

    Hi,
    I get the reply from FSRM Discussions team.
    The source file path in this case does not relate to the copy operation (FSRM has no clue where this is copied from) – rather to the location of the file that caused the problem.
    If the path for the file that caused the notification is a shared folder or volume, we can use [Source File Remote Paths] instead of [Source File Path] to insert the path in UNC format (\\Server\Share\).
    Best Regards,
    Mandy

  • Multiple xml source file loading ?

    Hi,
    I've already managed to set some multiple flat file as source, but the question is :
    How to set some multiple XML source files ? (to read ally xml files stored in a folder for instance)
    I link the XML file directly in topology instead of doing it in my model. So how can I change the file name dynamically ?
    Any advice ?
    Thanks
    Pierre-Henri

    Hi,
    all right I followed the explanation on this link :
    Looping a folder for pattern files
    The set up is ok, but I generate this error message :
    The scenario did not end properly.
    When I'm trying to run the interface alone (without v_FileName obviously), I get this error :
    java.sql.SQLException: Table not found: D in statement ...
    I created my XML model, then I defined it's ressource model as D:\mypath\001.xml. Into the interface, as my model uses XML technology, I can only use LKM SQL to SQL knowledge model.
    When I look at operator, I can see it tries to run this following SQL code :
    select
    attribute 1,
    attribute 2,
    from     schema.D:mypath001.xml CD
    where     (1=1)
    schema.D:mypath001.xml is probably the wrong part :)
    Do you have an idea to get your example (on txt files) running with some xml files ?
    thanks for your time

  • The XML Source file is unavailable for viewing

    Same java application is deployed on two different servers. One server is in the intranet zone and the second one is in the internet zone. The request sent to the server is an xml file and the response from the server is also an xml.
    In intranet server, when we are trying to view the source of the response xml file , we are getting a prompt displaying the message "The XML Source file is unavailable for viewing".
    But in internet server, when we are try the same, we are getting a valid xml resposne. We are using IE 6.0 - SP1 browser.
    We tried the same in the mozilla browser and found the same results. Any suggestions on this?

    One possibility is the IE security settings under tools/internet options. The intranet site may have a lower security setting than the internet site. The browser may not ne letting the internet site download the xml.

  • How to handle blank root element in xml source file

    Hi There,
    I have a dataflow which using xml source file. The job keep failing and I guess it might be caused by one of the root element which is blank. Can anyone advise me how to handle it?
    The xml file look like this:
    -<orderinfo>
    --<orderdetail>
    ---<orderid>1</orderid>
    ---<orderdate>20110101</orderdate>
    --</orderdetail>
    --<abc />
    -</orderinfo>
    element <abc> is blank
    Thanks and Regards,
    BL

    Hi Suneer,
    The issue is DS cannot validate the source file at all. It returns error message when I try to preview the source file in the dataflow. Is there any work around I can implement other than request the source team to change the file layout?
    Thanks,

  • FLEX debugger not hitting breakpoints, because Flash sometimes embeds source file paths with wrong letter case?

    I was trying to figure out why breakpoints were working fine for source files in some locations but not others.  FlashDevelop's debugger (which I believe is actually the FLEXSDK debugger) was successfully connecting, tracing output, and hitting breakpoints in SOME files, but not others.
    I downloaded SWFInvestigator from Adobe Labs and checked the embedded debug paths for various source files to see what was going on.
    I discovered that files in which no breakpoints could be hit had their paths embedded in all lowercase (e.g. "c:\users\username\desktop\source\myproject" instead of "C:\Users\username\Desktop\source\MyProject").
    So I have two questions:
    First, is this a Flex debugger issue, or a FlashDevelop plugin issue? Letter case shouldn't matter or interfere with matching file paths in Windows.
    Second, what could possibly influence the letter case of embedded paths in a SWF output by Flash Professional (CS6), such that they are sometimes all lowercase and other times maintain the same case from the file system?  And why would that affect a debuggers ability to hit breakpoints in Windows 7?  I am compiling in multiple ways. Sometimes clicking Publish within Flash. Sometimes the file being published is not even open in Flash, and my JSFL script file is passed to Flash.exe containing embedded file paths to open the document. Usually, everything seems to work fine, no matter where I publish from, regardless of whether the FLA file is open or not. I'm honestly starting to believe that it depends on how the FLA was last opened in Flash Professional, as though it saves some sort of last access path internally and uses that to embed debug information.

    I don't think it's the source path in my case, because it's simply the dot ".", although I did check that because it would most likely influence the embedded paths.
    In the library path, I use relative paths exclusively, since all my individual project folders exist in the same "source" folder.
    Here's how I arrived at the conclusion that something more complex or "stateful" must be occuring:
    I publish my files with a one-click application, which does the following
    updates version timestamps (static constants) in specific files via regex match
    fills in a JSFL template with the FLA filename and writes the JSFL file to disk, then passes the JSFL file path to flash.exe for publication
    the JSFL then runs a command, which signals the main application via cross-process communication that the script has finished publishing
    That all makes it easy for me to update and publish multiple projects and deploy them, with a single click.  Here is the JSFL template I created, which has been drastically simplified since the days where it used to search to see if the file was open in Flash, select the document, and call publish.  Now it just uses the publishDocument method to silently publish files without opening them.
    var filepath = "FLAFILEPATH"; //template parameter: the URI (beginning with "file:///") of the FLA file to publish
    fl.publishDocument( filepath, "PUBLISHPROFILENAME" );
    FLfile.runCommandLine("COMPLETECOMMAND");
    The C# app replaces the strings in all caps with the actual values.  The COMPLETECOMMAND is actually populated with the application's own executable path, along with a "complete" switch, which lauches a 2nd instance, which handles the complete switch by broadcasting a signal over an interprocess channel and then terminates.  The main instance captures the signal, triggers a wait handle, and continues with publishing the next file.  Here is the core code for it:
    private string fillTemplate( string fla_directory, string fla_filename, string publish_profile_name )
        string fileuri = "file:///" + Path.Combine( fla_directory, fla_filename ).Replace( '\\','/' );
        return EmbeddedResources.OpenAndPublish //JSFL template file embedded as string resource
            .Replace( "FLAFILEPATH", HttpUtility.JavaScriptStringEncode( fileuri ) )
            .Replace("COMPLETECOMMAND", HttpUtility.JavaScriptStringEncode( "\"" + Application.ExecutablePath + "\"" + " -publishcomplete" )) //call self with -publishcomplete switch to signal main instance's publishCompleteSignal
            .Replace("PUBLISHPROFILENAME", HttpUtility.JavaScriptStringEncode( publish_profile_name ) );
    private static readonly string FLASH_PATH = @"C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Flash CS6\Flash.exe";
    public void publish( string fla_directory, string fla_filename, string publish_profile_name )
        Program.publishCompleteSignal.Reset();
        string template = fillTemplate( fla_directory, fla_filename, publish_profile_name );
        string curdir = Environment.CurrentDirectory;
        string tempJSFLfilepath = Path.Combine( curdir, "temp_script.jsfl" );
        File.WriteAllText( tempJSFLfilepath, template );
        Process p = Process.Start( FLASH_PATH, tempJSFLfilepath );
        Program.publishCompleteSignal.WaitOne( 30000 ); //timeout after 30 seconds
    Here's where it gets interesting.  The FLAFILEPATH has ALWAYS been passed in as all lower case, yet this publication method has worked 99% of the time for hundreds of publish operations every day.  This applies to both the publication of the first SWC, which is referenced by the second published SWF (both were being published with lowercase paths), yet the paths for the main SWF were remaining in lowercase, while those in the referenced SWC were maintaining the correct case from the file system.
    So there may be any number of things going on here.  SWCs may be published differently than SWFs, such that SWCs always have the correct letter case for debug source files, regardless of how the source FLA project was opened.  Ensuring the path passed to publishDocument uses the right case definitely fixes the problem, but it doesn't explain why it usually worked, despite having always been passing a lowercase string.  The only variable I can think of in all of this is Windows itself or Flash, such as whether the document was open in Flash at the time the silent JSLF publishDocument command ran, and how that FLA was last opened (via shortcut, via "recent documents" in Flash, via recent documents in Windows.  It has to be something, even if it's something as obscure as how the folder path was last accessed in windows, although I strongly suspect it's just how (in terms of path case) the FLA was last opened in Flash.
    In any case, I'm happy that passing the right case to JSLF's publishDocument command fixes the problem, so I'm not going to spend any more time trying to figure out how opening the FLA in various ways could affect the embedded debug paths.  The only thing that should be done is to address how paths with the wrong case are handled when they do get embedded that way for whatever reason.  Perhaps the flex debugger should be updated to use case-insensitive matches in case-insensitive file systems, unless, perhaps, this is a FlashDevelop debugger issue after all.

  • Files under linux and windows

    Hi,
    I have a program that works under both windows and linux. I wanted to know what is the best way for the file paths I use.
    What is the difference between using "/" and "java.io.File.separator"?
    Any more info/tips on the difference between working under windows and linux will be great. I tried searching for it online but couldn't find anything useful.
    Thanks,
    Shaul

    I thought that if you used a '/' in a path string it was interpreted correctly, even in Windoze.Other platforms are available :-)
    I can't recall the details now, but we had an inexplicably-breaking build on Windows earlier this year for code that was fine under Linux, and tracked it back to the use of "/" rather than File.separator. It was an odd corner case which escapes me, but a lesson learnt nonetheless

  • File Name of Image Displayed in PSE 8 does not match File Path Name in Windows 7

    I recently got a new computer  .I upgraded on my Windows XP computer from PSE 5.0 to PSE 8.0.  I then moved my files to the new computer running Windows 7 following the instructions I received on an earlier post.  I copied the catalog folder and the picture folders on the C drive from the old to the new computer (catalog folder to location specified in System Info;  images to My Pictures).   Everything appears to have worked beautifully without having to go through a big Reconnect struggle.  The organzer appears to have found all of the images and I can bring them up in Editor as well.  However, when I look at the properties of a given image the full file name displayed is what it was on XP, i.e., C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\My Documents\My Pictures\<folder name>\<file name> rather than the path as it is in Windows 7, i.e., C:\Users\<user name>\My Pictures\<folder name>\<file name>.  I am new to Windows 7 so maybe I am missing something unique to Windows 7 but I would appreciate any information.

    You're observing the special folder aliases that Vista and Windows 7 create to preserve backward compatibility (Microsoft keeps changing how and where users' documents are stored).   On Windows 7:
    C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\My Documents\My Pictures
    is a special kind of alias to the folder:
    C:\Users\<user name>\Pictures
    (And C:\Users<user name>\My Pictures is yet another kind of Windows 7 special alias, a "library", that includes the folder C:\Users<user name>\Pictures.)
    Whenever an application like PSE refers to the old location, C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\My Documents\My Pictures, Windows automatically translates that under the covers to C:\Users\<user name>\Pictures.   But Windows Explorer is configured to prevent you from accessing C:\Documents and Settings\ interactively -- only programs like PSE are able to do that.  Microsoft wants users of Windows Explorer to always use the "new" name,  C:\Users\<user name>\Pictures.
    In your case, your catalog contained the old XP folder paths, and Windows is automatically translating them on the fly to the new paths, unbeknownst to PSE.
    Like most such backward-compatibility hacks, this does not work perfectly.  PSE thinks that the old path and the new path refer to two completely different folders.  I'm not positive, but I think there are opportunities for PSE to get confused by that.   When you import new photos, they will get recorded in the catalog under the new folder paths.
    In my previous recommendation for how to move to the new computer, I had assumed that you would most likely be changing user names and photo locations, and thus you would be forced to do a Reconnect, and you wouldn't have encountered this.  If I had thought you weren't going to need a Reconnect, I would have recommended not using this method but rather using Backup/Restore (my first recommended method)  -- my bad.
    It may well be that your current catalog and PSE will work well enough.   But there is at least a small risk that down the road PSE will get confused by the old and new folder names.  The easiest way to avoid that risk would be to start over and use the Backup/Restore method for moving your catalog, whch is more effort on your part.  But because I don't fully understand the risk, I can't tell you whether you should be worried about it.   Definitely do some testing: editing, importing and editing new photos, use Display > Folder Location view, try renaming and moving old photos to new folders, try the Photo Downloader, etc.

  • Merge xml source files; 1:n relationship

    Hi!
    All samples I have checked are based on 1:1 relationship
    between master and detail data set.
    For example:
    Exactly one xml file will be loaded depending on which
    element of the master xml file is selected.
    http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/spry/samples/data_region/DataSetMasterDetailSample.html
    But what about 1:n relationships? What if the master xml
    returns more than one depending xml file?
    Two scenarios are imaginable:
    1. Collect all detail xml data by looping through all data
    rows and create a dataset on the fly with all relevant data.
    (Please note my last posting "Observer event fires two times") That
    could be a new merge function ;-)
    2. Implementation of a new XMLDataSet constructor that allows
    an array with one or more path to detail xml file(s).
    What do you think about it? Or is there another way to handle
    1:n relationships?
    Regards
    libelle2000

    Hi !
    On Srpy 1.4 version the 1:n relation is not supported, but we
    have two new solutions for this already posted on preview section.
    http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/spry/preview/samples/data_region/NestedXMLDataSample.ht ml
    Instead of creating one master xml file that points to other
    details xml files, you can have a single xml and create there the
    1:n relation there. In this way your request is solved using a
    single xml file.
    Please follow the link I gave you above and see the examples
    from there.
