XNET order of frames

Hi,
I have some problems with the XNET Write CAN Block. I use a loop for reading Data from CAN via XNET, doing some calculations and lateron sending those via XNET to CAN. I would like to send data at the end of every loop that is why I chose event in the DBC for a trigger. The data is sent to the write block as an array (Signal Input Single Point). Now when I check the order of frames on the CAN-Bus via additional tools (CANALYZER by Vector), the messages come out in random order. The message identifier seems not to have any effect on the order.
I tried the same setup with cyclic trigger. In this case the order of frames answers to the frame id. But this would lead to timing delay if CAN and my loop don't run synchronous (Windows...).
Any suggestions? Is this behaviour normal? I thought that the frame id would handle the order if event is triggered for all frames at the same time...
Thx Jan

Hello!
Could you please supply your .vi, or even better, break it down to a minimal example in which I can easily see what you are doing?

  • Set z-order of Frames

    Hi, I have an application that has a lot of open Frames, and one main control bar frame. (Looks like an old Macintosh app, with windows all over the place.) When I'm using this app in windows, and switching back and forth between other apps, the windows associated with this app get "lost", ie hidden behind other frames.
    What I'd like is when the user activates the control bar frame, it brings all other frames to front, followed by the control bar frame. So I wrote a window listener for the control bar Frame, see below. But it's not working, because apparently the windowActivated event sometimes happens after the bringFramesToFront method is called and sometimes not; when it does, the Frames fight each other for focus. The other problem is that, even when this works, the Frames come up in apparent random order. I'd like them to maintain thier z-order with respect to each other, but be on top of all my other windows.
    Is there an easier way to get/set z-order for Frames in Java? Note, I am stuck using Frames and not JFrames because of legacy issues.
    boolean ignore=false;
    // I tried this with windowGainedFocus also, with the same result
    public void windowActivated(WindowEvent e)
    if (!ignore)
    bringFramesToFront();
    private void bringFramesToFront()
    ignore = true;
    Frame[] frames = Frame.getFrames();
    for (int i = 0; i < frames.length; i++)
    if (frames[i] != this)
    frames.toFront();
    toFront();
    ignore = false;
    // even though I called toFront() before setting ignore to false,
    // sometimes a new windowGainedFocus event is received after
    // this function exits.

    The reason they come up in random order is because when you call Frame.getFrames() it returns an array with the order they were (created)? and not the z-order. So you have to remember the z-order yourself.
    You can do this using a frame manager. Basically, when you create one of your frames, you register it with the manager. Then anytime you need the z-order, you can ask the frame manager.
    When the frame is registered, the frame manager adds it to it's queue of frames, and adds a WindowListener to it. It uses the window listener to listenen for activated, and closed events.
    When it hears an activated event, it puts that frame at the front of its queue and pushes the other frames one position back, and when it hears a closed event, it removes that frame from the queue.
    So when you want to know the z-order of the frames, ask the frame manager and it will return an array of the items in its queue.
    Also, you will need to consider how to handle minimized frames(?). Good luck.

  • CTM: Difference between Order creation Frame & Maximum earliness

    Hi Experts,
    Could any one please explain me the difference between Order Creation Frame & Maximum Earliness in CTM Gloabl Customizing and their implact on the planning run
    Thanks,
    Naveen

    Hi,
    Order creation frame is a variable planning parameter and has to be set in CTM profile.Using this planning parameter one can define a range within a certain demand has to be fulfilled.In other words a time frame can be set within a supply has to be planned to fulfill a certain demand.
    Maximum Earliness is maintained for Planned Orders which is the time period (in days) before the demand date, within which SAP APO can create planned orders early.
    Thanks,

  • Photoshop cs5 messes up the order of frames in a gif after importing video frames?

    after recording a video with vlc media player, i save as mp4, then open it in photoshop cs5 with Import>Video Frames to Layers...
    The order of the frames are messed up so when played it looks jerky. I played the mp4 file and it's fine. Here is an example in gif form:
    help please??

    I Think the problem is the you dropped too many frame out and the frame you kept are being played to quickly.  Animated GIF file sizes are huge compared to video file formats and the color is much poorer then video.  However Browsers animate them automatically and the can be used in links href.
    I downloaded your gif and it looked like you started with a 1080p video.  You re-size it from 1920 wide to 400 pixels wide and to make a small animated gif file size you dropped out too many frames.  You file is still 2.3MB.   I wanted to get some idea of what could be done.  How much 1080p mp4 re-sized to 400px wide would fit into a 2.3MB mp4 file and if saved as an animated gif how big would it be and what would the quality be. Seems like only 5 seconds fits . Here is what I saw.
    Sean  1080p mp4 14.6MB around 5 sec http://www.mouseprints.net/old/dpr/Sean1080p.mp4
    Sean 400 w mp4 2.3MB size of your gif http://www.mouseprints.net/old/dpr/Sean400.mp4
    Sean 400 Ani gif 10,7MB 5x your gif  http://www.mouseprints.net/old/dpr/Sean400.gif
    SeanDropFrames 2.3mb like your gif http://www.mouseprints.net/old/dpr/SeanDropFrames.gif  User every forth frame.
    The mp4 also includes the audio...... even the scaled 400 px wide mp4....

  • Field order and frame rate for motion graphic

    Hi all,
    I'm creating a some graphics to project on big screen LED for live concert & later the editor might use these graphics in his ntsc 16x9 29.97fps digibeta source cut so which is the best way?
    1- 853x486 square pixel, progressive, 29.97fps
    2- 853x486 square pixel, lower field, 29.97fps
    3- 853x486 square pixel, progressive, 60fps
    I'm thinking *option 3 render w/ motion blur on* is the best since it would produce whole frame so that the editor can freeze frame or do what ever he wants.
    also, do I need frame blending to be on?
    thanks a bunch.

  • Images in roll are in reverse frame order

    Greetings from a Mac and iPhoto newbie,
    I just had 7 rolls worth of 35mm film negs scanned to (7) CDs by the local drugstore and I loaded the photos onto iPhoto. No problem there, but I then realized that the lab had scanned my photos in reverse order (ie. frame #1 is now 24, frame 2 is 23, etc.)
    So now my photos appear as an iPhoto "roll" backwards from how they were shot in the camera. I suppose I could manually change the time on each and every photo to force it to whatever order I want, but that would be a bit of work to do.
    My question: Is there an easy way to reverse the photo order on each of the rolls?
    thanks for any assistance!

    The files will be sorted by the capture date or, in the case of scanned files, the scanned or modified date of the file. This will reverse when you change the ascending to descending. If the files were scanned you need to check the which date of the actual file that is being used. PhotoInfo can open a folder of files and display and change the capture date. Try it to see if there is a capture date and what is the order of the dates.
    If it's the captured or modified date that's being used the only application that can change those is Mira. The downside to it is that all files in a folder are batched changed to the same date and time (if you select the time option). There's no option to add a delta time between each subsequent file.
    Do you Twango?
    TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.

  • Time to upgrade to Full Frame

    Team,  I currenlty own a 70D and a T3i with a bunch of EF-s lenses. My question is wether to upgrade to a couple of L lenses or upgrade to a full frame camera.  Ideally I love to have a Mark III but a 6D is more realistic.   My budget is about $3500 I do real estate photography with some portrait side gigs on the side, no weddings or big projects.  Will it make sense to keep my 70D with some prime lenses for portrait photograpy?  or go full frame is there much of a difference if i used a 70-200 2.8L lens on a 70D then a 6D?  your help and expertise is greatly appreciated.

    Unless you want to get into really high end real estate photography, I'd suggest you stick with your 70D for now and start gradually changing your lens line-up, with a goal to build a system that will eventually allow you to add a full frame camera to use alongside the crop sensor camera. There are advantages and limitations with both sensor formats. I use both crop sensor and full frame cameras (a pair of 7D and a 5DII in my case, right now). I prefer the crop camera for sports/action and anything requiring longer telephoto lenses. And I like the full frame for landscape, architecture, portraiture and sometimes for macro work. One of the reasons I choose the full frame for portraiture is control over depth of field. Now, DoF is governed by lens focal length, working distance and lens aperture.... it doesn't actually change due to different sensor formats. However, in order to frame a subject the same way with a full frame camera, it's either necessary to use a longer focal length or move closer to the subject, or a little of both. Changing either distance or focal length will tend to render shallower depth of field. Conversely, full frame cameras can use smaller apertures before diffraction becomes an issue, so a FF also has some advantage for macro work or for landscape/architecture where great DoF is often wanted.  In generaly, there's a bit less lens selection for FF, though it's still quite extensive in the Canon system. This is because a FF camera can only use EF lenses, while your crop sensor 70D and my 7Ds can use both EF-S/crop-only and EF/full-frame-capable lenses. Also in general lenses for FF cameras will be larger, heavier and more expensive. It's most noticeable with telephotos, of course, but to some extent is true even with wide angle. IMO, on 70D a 70-200mm is a bit long for a lot of portraiture work. My most prefered lenses for portraits with a crop sensor camera are 50/1.4, 85/1.8 and 24-70/2.8. On full frame, my most frequently used portrait lenses are 85/1.8, 135/2, 70-200/4 and 70-200/2.8. Sure, there are times that wider and longer lenses can be useful for certain types of portraits. But these are what I use most often and feel are the most basic or "traditional" focal lengths for the purpose. Short telephotos generally render the most ideal perspective for portraits. Also, I mostly shoot candid portraits, not posed. Because that often means working with less than desirable backgrounds, I prefer larger aperture lenses that allow me the option to blur down distractions behind (and sometimes in front of) the subject. If shooting in studio or more posed at a planned location, with more control over the background and other elements, it would be different and large aperture lenses would be less necessary. Real estate photography work often calls for a wide angle and a lot of depth of field. With your crop camera, the EF-S 10-18mm you've got probably sees a lot of use. If you were shooting full frame, you'd probably want EF 16-35/2.8 or EF 16-35/4... or EF 11-24/2.8 (but that would use up most of your budget and not leave room to buy a camera to use it on).  Tilt shift lenses such as the TS-E 17/4 and TS-E 24/3.5 II are also top choices for architectural photography. Compare size, weight and prices. Also, if you use filters a lot, some require larger (16-35/2.8 II uses 82mm) and the TS-E 17/4 and EF 11-24/2.8 both have stongly convex front elements that won't allow standard screw-in filters to be used at all. There aren't many truly wide lenses for crop cameras that are also FF compatible. The EF 11-24/2.8 is one of very few. The EF 14/2.8 II is another. So, to use the crop camera for wide angle shots, you'll probably want to keep at least one or two EF-S/crop only lenses. The EF-S 10-22mm is an older lens than the EF-S 10-18mm, but is a little better built and with more edge-to-edge image sharpness... it's one of the best ultrawides made by anyone... but costs about 2X as much. If it were me, I'd prefer the Canon EF-S 17-55/2.8 IS USM over the Sigma 17-70... but once again this is a "crop only" lens. For dual format purpose, one of the 16-35mm or the EF 17-40/4 might replace it better and be able to serve on both camera formats. I use a little longer 24-70 and 28-135 as my "walk around" or mid-range zooms.    6D is a nice camera and, compared to 70D, would be desirable for very large prints or for low light/high ISO shooting situations. That's because full frame images need less magnification for enlargement and use bigger pixel sites that capture more fine detail, both of which allow for bigger prints. Not that you'd notice much difference with 13x19 or smaller prints. And certainly you wouldn't be able to tell any difference at Internet resolutions if a lot of your stuff ends up on websites. Because the FF camera's 20MP sensor is so much less crowded than the 20MP crop sensor, there is less heat and less cross talk, making for cleaning or less noise in very high ISO images. The difference would be most noticealbe at ISO 1600 and above.   The 70D has a more sophisticated and versatile AF system, except that the 6D's can still manage to focus in one or two stops lower light (center point only). 70D has 19-point AF that's similar to original 7D, active matrix focus screen, and zone focus in addition to the all points/auto and single point/manual focus patterns offered by all Canon DSLRs. The 6D only offers the last to focus patterns, doesn't have zone, and it has a fixed (but interchangeable with a few types) focus screen. 70D's active matrix focus screen makes possible the camera's  "grid on demand" feature that can be turned on or off via the menu, and which can be quite handy when shooting architecture inside or out. With 6D you can get similar grid in the viewfinder, but to do so would need need to swap out with a separately sold, accessory "D" type focus screen. In 70D all nineteen AF points are the more sensitive dual axis/cross type, with the center one enhanced for f2.8 and faster lenses. 6D's eleven AF points have only one dual axis/cross type... the center point... while all the others are single axis type. Either camera's AF system is probably more than adequate for what you say you shoot primarily. If you were shooting sports/action/wildlife/birds, the 70D's AF system would likely be more ideal, though... so I'd rate it as more versatile. The 6D's would be a better choice for low light work, though. 70D also has articulated LCD screen and built-in flash, while 6D has neither of those features. The 70D and 6D share batteries, chargers, memory and have mostly similar control layouts, always nice when using two different cameras interchangeably for various purposes. So, if it were me, I'd probably keep shooting with the 70D and work on lens upgrades first, then add the FF camera later. But that's just me. Your needs might be different and call for another approach. ***********

  • Item Default Bin Details in Sales Order - Print

    Hello Experts,
    I have a Optical Business group, am using SAP Business One. In my business i have order lens and stock lens, each stock lens item code have default bin location in same warehouse.
    Following is my business process:
    Am using EyeCare Add-On to process my optical sales.
    1. Create order in EyeCare against customer order. ( Frame & Lens [Item Code, Qty, MRP, TaxCode, Whse, Etc.,)
    2. Changing status into Create Sales Order (That time system automatically creating Standard SAP sales order)
    3. Changing status into Send for Fitting. (This time the order details going fitting screen)  same time physically sending job cover to fitting lab (Frame, Prescription & Sales order print document) Lens are physically stored at fitting lab in each separate bin same as defined in SAP.
    In this scenario, i have a requirement. I wand to print the Default Bin Details (Selected Item Code in Sales Order)  in Sales order print document.
    How it is possible, anyone can help me...?
    I was created a user defined field in marketing document Row ( Default Bin Location) Is it possible to get the bin details in this field by linking formatted search query.
    See the attachments.
    Thanks & Regards.

    Hi Abdul,
    Try this:
    SELECT T1.BinCode FROM OITW T0  INNER JOIN OBIN T1 ON T0.DftBinAbs = T1.AbsEntry WHERE T0.ItemCode =$[$38.1.0]

  • Frameworder and dummy purchase order.

    Hi Friends
    what is different between dummy purchase order and frame work purchase order..
    Can you give the process of these purchase orders?
    Thanks & Regards,
    Renuga.A

    Hi,
    Dummy PO and Blanket PO are same
    In general the Blanket POs are used for consumable materials such as Xerox papers with a short text (does not need to have Master Record) with Item Category ' B' i.e.limit, where in the PO validity period as well as the limits are to be mentioned for the simplicity of procurement.
    Blanket PO are valid for a longer period of time
    Document type is FO
    In Frame work PO you have to mention From date and To date (compulsory)

  • Slide order in slideshows

    How do I get IDVD to keep my slides in order by filename? If I drag them as a group it puts them in random order. The only way I was able to get them in numerical order by frame number is put all 420 slides in one by one!

    How are you adding the photos to the slideshow?  From the Media Browser?  Are you drawing them from an album or Event?  If you have them in an album and sorted by title you should be able to keep the order in iDVD.  Just drag the album icon into the iDVD slideshow window.

  • Field order issues after export to DV Pal from uncompressed

    We are experiencing some difficulty exporting clips from FCP to our Omneon Server for TX.
    We are capturing 8 bit uncompressed (AJA and Blackmagic) from digibeta for our edit and all editing stays in uncompressed until final output. Our transmission system demands DV PAL files so we export finished items as DV PAL in FCP and drop onto the server
    Our problem is that on playback from the server, the field order is incorrect. Although the exported DV clips properties show lower field order, the clip is obviously playing upper field first. If we capture and edit in DV and export the DV file to the server, then we have no problems. I have tried
    exporting uncompressed clips to DV via Compressor and changing the field order in frame controls but no success. It seems that when a clip is captured and edited in upper field it hangs onto that status even after conversion to DV!! Any thoughts greatly appreciated!

    when you drop one of your 8 bit uncompressed source clips into your DV PAL timeline, is FCP correctly adding the Shift Fields filer to those timeline instances?
    do you edit in 8-bit uncompressed and then export direct to DV PAL or do you nest your 8 bit uncompressed sequence into a DV PAL sequence first and then export as Quicktime Movie w/ current settings? if not the latter, try it (and make sure your nest has the Shift Fields filter applied)

    I am trying to set frame delay in an animation I am working on. There are a lot of frames and they all have different delays. I am not sure if scripting is the best way but here is what I have so far (using VBA because that is what I am familiar with): I am erroring out at line 23 saying it is a "type mismatch"

    HI,
    I am trying to perform some CAN communication with NI-XNET at the frame level.  I have started with the CAN Frame Input Single Point.vi and CAN Frame Output Single Point.vi examples that came with NI-XNET.  I would like to be able to change the payload of the frame to be written in the output vi  (i.e. have it not be controled by a human on the front screen) but have been unable to find a way to write the payload attribute in the XNET Frame CAN typedef.  I have tried to recreate this cluster on my own to no avail.  If anyone could point me in the correct general direction it would be much appreciated.
    Thanks in advance,
    Kevin

    Hey Kevin,
    Are you sending a frame from a frame list that you created in a database?  Are you using a temporary database in memory?  If you have a framelist in a database that has the payload predefined, I'm not sure that you can change the cluster definition programmatically.  If you were to open up the XNET Database Editor, you should be able to manually specify the format of the cluster being passed, including the payload lenght.  In addition, if you set the database as the :memory: including the colons, you can configure the cluster to be whatever you would like from the front panel.
    Does this answer your question?  Are you just trying to change the payload length of a frame, or is there more to it than just that?
