Xpath expression in Interface determinatin

Hi,
Can any one please help me in the below req:
In the interface determination, I need to put a condition check for an interface
the date value from the source field should be greater than the current date - 81 days.
Source_Date(field from source) > (current_date) - 18
How to write an xpath expn for this condition.

What is your source and Target system,checking this tyoe of condition in interface determination bit difficult i guess...
use multi mapping if you are not working iwth IDoc ,HTTP scenarios,check the condition at mapping level it self. use date transformnation fucntion...you will easily do it,.

As you can see, this process is used as a "Rejection Handler" process: It implements the interface defined in RejectionMessage.wsdl

Hi All
I find a workaround to the problem. I´m almost sure it is a bug in BPEL.
As you can see on my previous post, the diferences between the two messages is that the attributes have qualified names on one message and unqualified names on the other: ns1:BatchId, ns1:PrimaryKey...
The schema definition for this message (JCAErrorHandling.xsd) define that attribute names MUST be qualified (attributeFormDefault="qualified"). The problem is that the File Adapter sends the message with unqualified attribute names!!
So I edited JCAErrorHandling.xsd (<ORACLE_HOME>\integration\orabpel\system\xmllib\jca) file, changing it to attributeFormDefault="unqualified".
The correct solution is to fix File Adapter to send the message with qualified names, so I´m opening a Service Request at Oracle Metalink.

Xpath expression in Left and Right operand for Receiver determination

Hi Experts,
Is it possible to use an Xpath expression in both the Left and Right operand inside the Receiver determination e.g.
(/Message/line/IDNumber = /Message/line/IDNo)
Any help will be appreciated.

in standard receiver determination you can only specify value for the right operand.
that is one of the reasons you go for enhanced receiver determination
as mentioned in the sap help
If you are using the condition editor to define receiver determinations or interface determinations, you can only use the expression editor to create an expression for the left operand. You must specify a value for the right operand.

Xpath expression substring or contains

I have this inbound source message

condition is , if "ABCD" exists in the LINE field(type string) then the corresponding Interface mapping should execute.
I know the exact location of "ABCD occurence so I can use either contains or substring functions.
I tried /P1:Z_RFC/TO_DATA/item[substring(LINE,X,Y)="ABCD"] EX no right operand
/P1:Z_RFC/TO_DATA/item[substring(LINE,X,Y)]= "ABCD" with right operand
substring((/P1:Z_RFC/TO_DATA/item/LINE),X,Y) = "ABCD"
similarly I tried around with "contains" function too.
but not able to apply exactly, I tried with different options looking at different blogs in SDN.
so how should be the Xpath expression ?

I have two different interface mappings in interface determination.
I have same sender RFC interface(outbound) and two different target interfaces and so why I have two different interface mapping,MMs.
sender and reciever systems are same in both cases.

I know why you are asking this,if we have one interface map and two target interfaces then we need to go for enhanced interface determination.
and need not to be just "substring" or "contains" function ,just any function will do.
so any suggestion about the above scenario in ASCII diagram?

Invalid Xpath Expression

Hi ,
I have an XML content as below and i am sending that as a string input to other interface . Here i have hard coded Teller ID and account ID , but i want to send the input from payload like this : ><Teller><ID>bpws:getVariableData('TellerId')</ID></Teller> .
But it is giving error as "Invalid xpath expression" . How can the below xml be sent with the teller id and account no. accepting inputs from payload?

The other interface accepts only strings . If i do it using xml fragment , it is embedding white spaces and is not acceptable by the other interface.

XPath Expression to Check if certain condition does not exists

Dear Experts,
I have an interface scenario with this source message structure:
/Message/Body/Field1
Body have multiple occurence in the Message, and each Body will have only 1 Field1.
at the Interface Determination:
- Interface A:     if the /Message/Body/Field1 = "" exists
- Interface B:     if the /Message/Body/Field1 = "" does not exists
I have configured Interface A correctly with the following XPath expression:
left operator:          /Message/Body[Field1 = ""]
middle operator:     EX
right operator:
Somehow I still could not figured out how to check if /Message/Body/Field1 = "" does not exists.
I've tried some XPath expression:
left operator:          /Message/Body[Field1 = ""]
middle operator:     !=
right operator:        EX
(this results in Interface B generated no matter /Message/Body/Field1 = "" exists or not)
left operator:          /Message/Body[ (count(Field1 = "") = 0) ]
middle operator:     EX
right operator:
(this results an exception raised at Interface Determination when Message/Body/Field1 = "" does not exists)
And some other workaround but still no success.
Any advice would be appreciated.

Am I getting you right: You want to route the message one way if there is at least one empty Field1in the message and the other way if there is no empty Field1 present?
Maybe you could try:
Left: boolean(/Message/Body[Field1 = '']/
Operator: =
Right: true
Left: boolean(/Message/Body[Field1 = '']/
Operator: !=
Right: false
boolean() should return true if the node-set provided to the function contains at least one node.
I think you should use single quotes for literals.
I'm not sure about the slash at the end of the left operator.

XPath expression failed to execute.

I am working AIA PIP 3.1 for JDE E1.I am facing some errors so that i can't proceed.
See the log errors as below:

Ya i checked the data for same table,but i didn't get any XREF related information in xref_data table.
Did you mean that, data should already present under AIAFPINST_XREF.Probably xref is meant for storing dynamic value.

Follow-up Dynamic expression in interface

I created this thread so I can give credits to anyone helps me on this.
I tried to follow the following thread and got some errors.

When I execute the interface alone with out Java procedure(<@=result@>) its working.
In the package the first step is Java procedure. The second step is the interface. When I execute the package its failing at the interface level even if I don't call the procedure result in the interface. Any idea.

When I execute as a package I am getting same error message with or with out the procedure variable in the interface at the step "Insert flow into I$ table"

Now I have converted my solution to use a structured index. As such, I want to write the where clauses in terms of column names rather than XPath expressions.
I hoped it was as simple as changing the code that generates the XPath expression to generate a SQL expression. After making that change, I'm now getting this error:

Using xpath expressions in Document-Builder

we have re-designed our (existing) DDX-templates with the Document Builder in LC Workbench. The DDX templates are used to assemble PDFs with LC Assembler-Service.
Now my question: Is it still possible to use XPath-expression in the DDX template? Please find our example below:
The XPath expression works only if we copy&paste the DDX source code directly to the Assembler-Service property view (picture below). But referring the DDX-template doens't interpret the xpath path at run time (2nd picture below). Any help on that will be appreciated!

I think any XPath expressions which use [] are not supported in stand alone
version, but as this is not documented I could be wrong.

where iterator is a index variable .
I am getting into this error .

Syntax error while parsing xpath expression "ora:getElement('Receive_1_Read_InputVariable','BILL','/ns2:BILL/ns2:CMS1500['bpws:getVariableData('iterator')']/ns2:HEADER/ns2:SSN')", at position "77" the exception is Expected: ).
Please verify the xpath query "ora:getElement('Receive_1_Read_InputVariable','BILL','/ns2:BILL/ns2:CMS1500['bpws:getVariableData('iterator')']/ns2:HEADER/ns2:SSN')" which is defined in BPEL process.
[Potential fix]: Please make sure the expression is valid.

XPath Expression

Hey Guys...
Currently I am working on one Xpath expression issue..as described below;
Its a File to Idoc scenario ...where in I need to check the two Item level nodes and based on that need to produce the target Idoc. and my souce structure look like this....
DT_Input
       Header ---    1 to 1
             H1
             H2
             H3
       Item -
     0 - Unbounded
          Item_1
          Item_2
          Item_3
Query : If the Item_1 and Item_3 are not equal AND Item_1 not equal to blank ...then I need to produce the target Idoc otherwise not!
Can you please help me out!!!

You could create an advance user defined function.
fed your function with the 3 values (Item_1 and Item3).
Inside the function, check the values of Item_1 and Item_3 nodes.
What is the result of your query? I mean, if your query is meet, Which value do you want to populate in your IDOC?
You should use this sentence: result.addValue(a[0]). It is supposed a is the value returned by the funcion.
If you don`t want create the node in the IDOC, use this other one: result.addValue(ResultListCC).

XPATH-expressions and namespaces

I have a xml-file for testing my xpath expression, like this:

 <c>aaa</c>
 <d>
 <e>111</e>
 </d>
 
 
 <c>bbb</c>
 <d>
 <e>222</e>
 </d>
 
 
 <c>ccc</c>
 <d>
 <e>333</e>
 </d>
 What I want is to get the value of element 'e', based on a check on what the value of element 'c' is. I alway know the value of element 'c'.
I solve this by using this xpath-expression in my xsl-file:
<xsl:variable name="xpathTest" select="//e[../preceding-sibling::c = 'bbb']" />This expression should return '222', and it works!!!
But, when I use the another xml-file with a similar structure, with namespaces, like this:

I can easily extract the value of the element similar to the element 'e' in my test-file, but then I will always get the value from the first occurance of 'e', which is '111'.
Can anyone help me with this?

Most APIs which let you create XPath objects allow you to create a namespace context and attach it to the XPath object. Your API most likely does too, whatever it is. Then you would just use the prefixes which the namespace context describes in your XPath expression.
(This namespace context generally maps prefixes to namespace URIs. Remember that the namespace URI is really what the XPath is looking for and the prefix is just a short cut for you to use.)
