XRPM missing ivew and rendering problem

I am working with a RKT 2008 system and facing some XRPM issues. Would any of you be so kind to give me some comments or hints if you got?
Iview 'task' is missing.
Rendering problem happens whereever a chart or graphic is supposed to be created.

I see you followed Jerry's advice to post over here, and haven't got any responces, so I'll at least try to get a little more information into the discussion.
Since the document prints to pdf correctly, but not to the actual printer, it seems likely that it is a print driver issue. In the Numbers discussion on the issue, the original person with the issue was using a HP printer with a postscript driver. Since the HP support site was not very clear about whether a driver for that printer on Mavericks even existed, and the recommendation for a generic driver was for a PCL driver, not postscript, I suspect that they were not using a recommended configuration. It would probably be helpful to know the details about your printer and print driver.
Do you have access to more than one printer to test this on?
The new versions of Numbers and Pages are doing something strange in terms of how they copy tables to the system clipboard; the pdf version is no longer available, only bitmap images. Print to pdf, however seems to still get the pdf data. I don't think this should have anything to do with the data getting to the print driver, but it does seem consistent with your results.

Spry Menu Bar 2.0 (1.0) - Handling of widget generated CSS, placement and rendering problems in CSS

I wanted to repost my question to re-frame the issue based on what I have learned thus far.
I am working on a website that has been developed using the Spry Menu Bar Framework UI (2.0) I.0, that has some peculiar rendering problems that affect IE 6 in particular. The CSS is reprinted below.
In particular, when I post the widget generated CSS in the head as it is orginally situated by the framework, the menu bar works fine. However, it seemed to me that I should be able to reduce page weight (an important consideration considering my target population) by placing it in the general style sheet governing the entire site.
When I place the styles at the beginning of the style sheet the menu doesn't render at all in any of the browsers (IE 6+, Firefox, Opera, Safari, Netscape, etc.) as it conflicts with the general rules governing links that appear later in the style sheet. When I place the styles specific to the Menu bar at the end of the style sheet, then the menu bar renders properly in all browsers except IE 6.
The odd thing is that the only way to ensure that the menu bar works in IE 6 is to keep the menu related styles in the head of each page. This raises problems related to page weight (not an insurmountable consideration if no other solution can be found) but still an issue. Likewise I need to support IE 6, again given the target audience/population. The issue obviously has something to do with specificity, but I am not certain that is the only consideration at work here. I have not tried the !important selector in regard to the menu, as IE 6 seems to only partially support this.

The specific code that I am referring to is the CSS code governing the styling of the spry menu widget that only works in IE 6 if, and only if, it remains in the head of the web page. If removed and placed in a stylesheet, the IE plugins fail to compensate for the IE 6 "gap" bug. As I said, it doesn't make sense to me that, assuming specificity is addressed, that these can not be included in an external style sheet. I am looking for a) an explanation why they must remain embedded in the web page; and 2) any means by which I might be able to export them.

Freezing and rendering problems

Hi all,
I run an eMac PPC with OS 10.3.4. It is about three years old. I switch power off each night and restart every morning with automatic login for myself. Lately I have the following problems:
1. The system sometimes (read: often nowadays) freezes a very short time after boot-up. I can move the mouse and perhaps select something, but then everything freezes and I have to reboot with the on-off switch. If the system does NOT freeze a very short time after booting, I can usually do a day's work without serious problems.
2. Mail crashes quite frequently. This could of course be a separate problem.
3. Sometimes the Mac screensaver, which shows a selection of photographs zooming in slowly, has problems rendering the pictures. I see a lot of flickering small rectangles in the pictures. The desktop picture (which is steady, not zooming) has no trouble of this kind.
4. Sometimes there are tiny errors on the screen: small short lines where they should not be, small pieces of a line or characters missing. In these cases usually also problem 3 shows up.
Are these problems related? Can reinstalling the system help? Can monitor problems cause system freezes? Please tell me this is not a hardware problem...

Not that you want to hear this, but it's probably a hardware problem.
2004 eMacs had an issue with a batch of capacitors that went bad, leaking and bulging, consequently causing issues with graphics, freezing and power exactly as you have described.
Fortunately Apple recognised the problem and initiated a repair extension program on the affected models. To see if you qualify check your mac against the details here http://www.apple.com/support/exchange_repair/emac.html to see if you qualify.
I have the same issues, and have found a workaround that's doing great until I can get my machine to a service centre, in order to ease the problem boot the mac in safe mode (hold down shift) and log in as admin. navigate to system then library and find all the graphics drivers (I can't remember where) and delete all the nvidia and old ati ones (basically leaving only those that are correct for your machines card). I've lost some graphical abilities but otherwise everything is great.

Corrupted video and rendering problems

Before I upgraded the software (FCP 5.0.3 to 5.0.4, and the latest OS X update) I could capture and export movies with no problems. Using the “File>Export>Quicktime Movie” option set to “Use current settings” provides the disastrous results of digital garbage flashing on the screen like psychedelic Lego blocks every couple of seconds at random intervals. They appear at different points with every export. It’s like it’s taking an I-frame from a Jackson Pollack painting. I tried using the following codecs (Sorry if I’m using the wrong terminology, I’m a PC head making my first steps into the Mac universe): Apple Intermediate Codec, DV NTSC 48 KHz (the project’s setting), DV50 NTSC 48 KHz, MPEG IMX 8-bit NTSC – 50 MB/s – 48KHz and the Uncompressed 8-bit NTSC 48 KHz all with similar hideous results. So why does the video look so bad?
Also when I try to render my files the progress bar flashes on the screen for about a second and then goes away, leaving my timeline with the same red bar across the top (AKA unrendered). Are these two problems related?

Yes, I have tried it in a new sequence and a new project but nothing has changed. What I am trying to do is take our catalog of "How to" videos from the miniDV tapes and create DVDs using DVDSP4 since nobody buys VHS anymore. All I'm doing is capturing the 25+ minute project and trimming off the wasted spaces at the beginning and the end. Two cuts, that's it. I'm not reassembing anything and this is becoming a bigger project than the original editing. I had captured the original video I am currently working with before the OS upgrade with no problems and it looks fine on anything I use to view the Quicktime file with. But when I export to anything besides Compressor all I get is junk when Compressor decides not to give ma a "Quicktime Error: 0". What is that about? Anyone?
Also, the tutorial on preview rendering is good and I learned quite a bit. Unfortunately nothing worked on solving my problem. The progress bar still flashes on the screen and when it hits 0% completed it disappears leaving everything unrendered. Grrrr.

Missing Photos and other problem

iphoto had 3900 picture displayed the other day. The next day there were only 2500. I had a simalar problem last spring so I did a rebuild on the library after I saved a copy. I then wound up with 3500 photos. 400 still missing. I noticed there were out of order date wise and when I checked recently imported photos (jan 2006) they were in the iphoto libtary but now in the year 2000 folder folder instead. I haven't gone through every folder yet to find the other missing photos but what caused this problem? Can I fix it without going through every folder?
Next which I believe is a related issue to the above. My computer will not always go fully to sleep. Monitor turns off computer still running. Or Computer wil not wake up from sleep mode. Next, I tried to run disk utility and verify disk permissions. It stopped stating "Disk Utility has lost connection with the Disk Management tool and cannot continue. Quit and relaunch". I did this several times but the same error message keeps coming up. What do I need to do to resolve this mess? Do I have a virus? A drive that is about to crash? (I have the lastest update for iPhoto 5.)

Why not just have Lightroom locate the top-level missing folder(s)?
If you are in folder panels, they should show a question mark. Right click on the question mark and locate the folder. If all of the folders are in an upper level folder that you can't see you can show it by right clicking on the folder and selecting "Show Parent Folder"

Capturing HDV and Rendering Problem

I am using FCP 5.1.4 and a Sony HC1 HD Camcorder. Evidently I have screwed up some settings because now I run into a minor issue with being forced to render all video when clips are placed into a sequence.
My current project setting (using Easy Setup) are for HDV-1080i50. There are no apparent setting for the video capture for the camcorder (I do have the camcorder HDV Conversion set to "Off").
Whenever I drag a captured clip into a sequence it requires rendering. I didn't used to have to do this so am wondering what settings I got screwed up along the way.

real simple question but check the sequence settings. What does it say?
With FCP if you create a new project, then change the Easy Setup, Sequence 1 will be from the old Setup. Change your Easy Setup first and then create a new sequence.

WPC and rendering problems

I created an own Contenttype (xml) one Stylegroup for this Contenttype and three Styles (three xls files) for rendering.
When i create a new content with the WPC all three renderoptions are showen in the preview display field. when i press the preview button the content is showen in the right way but when i save the content it always jumps back to the first rendering style and i can't save the content with the 2nd or 3rd style. can someone help me

TinTiifax- It's a know issue. Try to make a form. Ignore the style for now. After you drag and drop the webform in the container.
Click the pencil icon on the containerand from the context menu select the select content layout option and you should be able to change the style.
Let me know if you have any issues.

Problems with Audio Sync and Rendering

In both problems what happens is NOT consistent. If were, would think was a setting or something I was doing wrong.
About the rendering problem. I capture either through FCP Log and Capture or through my analog to digital "box", Formac Studio TVR. In both cases record in DV setting. When I then Import these files about 3 out of 4 times they need full rendering. But doing all things the same, there is that 1 out of 4th time where no rendering is needed at all. Does not seem to matter whether I capture through FCP or Foremac. Results seem the same. Like I said to begin with, if was consistent would figure that is just how the program is. But due to the time it takes to do a render, sure would be nice if could be avoided some way.
Regarding the Audio Sync. At times, maybe 1 out 10 times, the audio is bad. It begins at the beginning of the film being out of sync maybe two or three frames. But then every 10 minutes of film it progressively get's worse, losing a good 6 to 10 frames as one goes. I can fix by doing a lot of cutting and then moving the film around till it is in sync again, but as you can imagine takes a LOT of extra work. Any ideas as to why this is happening and what could be done to prevent in future??

I've used flip4mac for about a year and have had no problems with it. I mostly use it to export preview versions for windoze people. The quality is very good, though it takes significantly longer to export than a similar-quality quicktime movie.

Plus an iCloud installation error message saying iCloud moved 6,835 files to a "deleted items folder" somewhere. This is NOT fun at 72-yrs old...!!

You can safely assume that I have tried using it!   So, to make things a little clearer:
     1) I now have two iCloud "contacts files", w/ a different total count. What's the difference? Why the different toatl count?
     2) Since re-installing the Apple software (part of the MSVCR" recovery instructions) "couldn't possible affected Outlook", why am I getting an iCloud installation error message saying iCloud moved 6,835 files to a "deleted items folder" somewhere. What's in those files? And where are they?
Probably more important questions get down to:
     3) Why is a basic Apple product upgrade "screwing-up Outlook"? This iTunes upgrade, failing to install properly forced Outlook 2007 into a 2-min start-up cycle. Which was fixed with this "Goat-Rpdeo" of re-installing MSVCR80.dll.
     4) And under the latest release of iOS-7.0.4 on our iPhones, why is Apple now forcing us to use the iCloud to back-up our contacts, calendars & tasks, vs. allowing these files to be backed-up directly on our PC's via the USB cable?

Repeating problems (1) Many Missing Files; and (2) Downloading From iTunes

I am having multiple issues with the iTunes store currently. I have spoken with an Apple Expert on August 14, 2010 (case number available if needed). Although he was very good at helping me to the best of his ability, he referred me to iTunes Store Customer Service, which I previously was in contact with.
I have 2 types of repeating problems (1) Many Missing Files; and (2) Downloading From iTunes Store.
_Problem One - (1) Downloading From iTunes Store_
I have 1610 missing files from my iTunes folders. I created a list of missing items by following these steps:
+If for any reason you find yourself with random missing tracks, (or are trying to recover from a dying hard drive like me), there is an easy way to isolate those missing tracks.+
+1. Create a standard playlist called "Not Missing".+
+2. Drag your entire library into that playlist. Missing tracks cannot+
+be copied to a playlist.+
+3. Create a smart playlist called where you select the following conditions in the options window for the new smart playlist:+

My missing playlistable items represent a better part of a decades worth of audiobook files, transfered files from my PC days, etc... i loved my - now missing - Doctor Who and Torchwood purchases from iTunes.
I have already read the Trouble Shooting, checked Time Machine Backup, and been walked through replacing the preferences list. The missing file path from the "get info" options in iTunes points towards a non-existant file.
_Problem Two (2) Downloading From iTunes Store_
I have had problems downloading files from iTunes for months. I first noticed it with the TV Show "Avatar: The Last Airbender". Lately, when I download from the (non-music) part of the store, the majority of files are downloaded and then immediately not found. This has been prompting iTunes to repeat the download. Until I force quit itunes and *potentially cry*.
There have been multiple iTunes store purchases of audio books recently. If I reported the missing file immediately, I can contact iTunes support to repost the file and that usually fixes the issue. But today, I went to go rewatch "Torchwood: Children of Earth" and noticed Problem One.

If provided with a spreadsheet of my iTunes Store purchase history, I can write a vlookup( formula in excel to compare the list against my exported missing list so a shortlist of what is missing from just my iTunes Store purchase history can be created (hint: it's the majority of items from the list, others are years worth of files from my PC days). If we could do that, could iTunes make my missing purchases available?
Then we can focus on purely, trying to figure out why they went missing in the first place - so we can prevent it again & possibly help others from running into the same.

I strongly suspect the two issues are related to a root cause ... in addition to my user error in file management of backups ... what is going on?

Rendering problem in output of Pages 5.1

Has anyone else seen a print rendering problem when trying to print a table in Pages 5.1?
All my text in tables is jagged and lower-resolution than other text:
(Printed from Pages 5.1 (1769) on a HP Color LaserJet CP2025 from a retina MacBook Pro original model running Mavericks 10.9.1.)
To see the problem, you must look at the full size image. Right-click to open it in a new tab.
The type is set to Helvetica 12 pt black.
The borders are set to 0.5 pt black. The top two lines have a border on all sides.
The top line's border is nearly invisible; on the full size image you should see a faint blueish line.
The middle line's box box is supposed to be  a full box, but it is missing two sides. But at least this hairline renders properly.
The pdf of the same file looks fine on screen, even at high magnification. The problem only shows up in print.

I see you followed Jerry's advice to post over here, and haven't got any responces, so I'll at least try to get a little more information into the discussion.
Since the document prints to pdf correctly, but not to the actual printer, it seems likely that it is a print driver issue. In the Numbers discussion on the issue, the original person with the issue was using a HP printer with a postscript driver. Since the HP support site was not very clear about whether a driver for that printer on Mavericks even existed, and the recommendation for a generic driver was for a PCL driver, not postscript, I suspect that they were not using a recommended configuration. It would probably be helpful to know the details about your printer and print driver.
Do you have access to more than one printer to test this on?
The new versions of Numbers and Pages are doing something strange in terms of how they copy tables to the system clipboard; the pdf version is no longer available, only bitmap images. Print to pdf, however seems to still get the pdf data. I don't think this should have anything to do with the data getting to the print driver, but it does seem consistent with your results.

AfterEffects CS3 runs really slowly and renders even slower!

I've had no problem with AE until purchasing CS3. Running it on a G5, seemed to work great for a couple of projects. Now even a very simple project takes hours to work on and goes into some kind of stasis during render.
I've recreated the project in CS7 on a different system and it runs fast and renders in a few minutes, so I'm sure its not the media.
FCP and photoshop run great on the system. I am rendering to the hard drive which seems to have plenty of room.
This project has a Friday morning deadline, so I'm desperate.

I haven't any plug-ins installed. The system I'm running this on is used ONLY for photoshop, AE and FCP. All of the updates are installed religiiously. I ran utilities on my computer recently and all seems well.
I checked my ram and disk cache and it is set at 150%. When I work, the render engine reports I'm using 35% of 1.2 Gb. I had an AE person look at it and she said she can't see what might be causing the problem. With this same system, and AE 7, I created three-d boxes, played with particle world, multitudes of cameras and lights... no problem.
Now, to work at 1/4 res, I wait about 5 minutes for the video screen to refresh every time I touch a camera position keyframe, or a light. Even moving the 7 mb file sideways takes a long time.
I installed AE CS3 from an Adobe sight download, instead of purchasing the discs. I can't find the dmg install file AN"ywheRE on my system. It was an upgrade, so the original AE program is still in there.
I can't go back to the previous version because I won't be able to open the current AE files. At this point, I'm looking at missing my deadline. There must be some explanation for this!

Firefox 6 rendering problem

I am using 64 bit version of Ubuntu 11.04, under Ubuntu Classic, using ATI proprietary driver 11.5. Firefox 6 was installed via a Firefox-stable channel update.
I had absolutely no issue with previous versions of Firefox, until I did an upgrade, and the entire window of Firefox stops rendering properly, as seen in screen cap below.
Basically besides the window control bar on top, everything else seems to be double rendered and one of the render is miss aligning the Y axis.
As I move my mouse around, every interactive objects gets rendered again and rendered incorrectly. Making Firefox largely unusable.
BTW, I have tried start firefox under safe mode using
firefox -safe-mode
The browser started without addons but rendering issue is still thre.
Am I the only one seeing this? And how do I fix it?

Try to disable hardware acceleration.
*Edit > Preferences > Advanced > General > Browsing: "Use hardware acceleration when available"
Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.

There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins" in case there are still problems.
If that new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile (be careful not to copy corrupted files)
