Any clue what could be wrong?
Thanks
Pooja

After spending many hours, I managed to find the solution to this problem. Hopefully, I can save others the time. Here is a summary of the problem and solution:
Problem: OWB installation fails unexpectedly around 86%. The java window closes without error and the stdout console reports the following:
The following operations failed
class oracle/bali/rts/tools/XRTSGenerator: resolution
class oracle/bali/rts/tools/XRTSMakeBundle: resolution
Further up in the stdout listing are two ORA-29521 errors related to the XML parser.
Solution: The XML objects are either not installed in the database or their installation is incomplete. To fix, remove the XML objects and reinstall as follows:
1. log in as sysdba ("export {SID}; sqlplus / as sysdba")
2. enter "@$ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/admin/rmxml" and press enter. Wait for it to finish.
3. enter "@$ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/admin/initxml" and press enter. Wait for it to finish.
4. exit
Be sure to remove any failed OWB repositories before trying again. This may be accomplished via the repository assistant or, if all else fails, by dropping the user and all of the roles that start with "OWB".

    we had this at one point. It indicates that you have 'inconsistencies' in the kernel. You should probably at least get the DW patch for the same level. If there is a complete kernel out right now, I would go with that.
    Please check the Forumalso, there have been several threads regarding the kernel in the last couple of weeks.

    Just need a little help figuring this error out.  The New Font is giving me trouble.  Overload resolution failed because no accessible "New" accepts this number of arguments. I don't know what I'm doing wrong here.  Any help would

    Elise,
    Please modify your post and this time around, instead of showing the code as text, click the button in the header that has a "<>" in it to use the Code Block tool. Select VB from the combo, the paste your code there, then finally post it
    here. It'll be a lot easier to read that way. :)
    Also though, please indicate which line is showing the compile error.
    Do you have Option Strict set to On? You should if not.
    Still lost in code, just at a little higher level.

  • 10.1.3.0 install on solaris em  url fails and name resolution fails

    Hi
    I wondered if anybody would know this. I installed 10.1.3.0 app server on solaris and my hosts file is ok I can resolve mymachine.domain.com. The install is a clean 10.1.3.0 install. I have the 9.2.0.7 db installed elsewhere on the box.
    Opmnctl tells me that my oc4j and http instances are alive (home) and i can get to the first http page.
    http://<ipaddress>:7777
    with no problems but when i click on the link on the rhs redirection to the http://<ipaddress>:7777/em url fails so i cannot get the console up.
    Question is why is the em not responsiong but it appears to be running and installed ok.
    Question 2 is why does the em link resolve to localhost when i go to the em.
    Hosts file looks ok and seems to resolve with ping. Machine is on network but not in any dns.
    Has anybody got any suggestions? There is absolutely 0 error messages in the logfiles.
    I have installed other servers in the past without any issues at all at other places on other machines.
    Thanks

    If you check the logs of ons, you can check which IP opmn is bound to. This might end up being localhost, instead of public. This might have to do something with this EM issue. By adding <ipaddr request="$PUBLIC_IP" remote="$PUBLIC_IP" /> to opmn.xml this can be solved (please do check the documentation for the exact syntax!!!!)
    Could you also check what servername is defined in your httpd.conf, this might have something to do with the resolving thing (also check useCaconicalName parameter)

  • Failed to open the connection. Details: [Database Vendor Code: 12154].

    I have installed Crystal reports server 2008 VI on a Windows 2008 64bit OS. I have added SQL server and Oracle reports through CMC. I then installed Oracle 10g client 32bit on the server and created and tested the required DSNs using ODBC 32bit. All the testings are successfull.
    Now when I try to run my Oracle report through CMC it prompts for the parameters and when I enter them and click ok, gives me the following error:
    Failed to open the connection. Details: [Database Vendor Code: 12154].
    I have the same exact setup on a different server which has a 32 bit windows 2008 server OS and could run the same reports through CMC.
    Is there away to fix this in the 64 bit OS?
    I did a yahoo search and someone had a similar problem with Crystal RAS and Oracle.
    And there is mentions that this is an issue with 32 bit ODBC drivers on 64bit wondows OS.The parentheses in the default file location, C:\Program Files (x86), causes problems with the ODBC driver and the workarouns in re-installing Crystal RAS on a different folder.
    Full description is at (http://www.tririga.info/)
    Is this the case with Crystal report server 2008 VI? I already got users using the InfoView to run SQL reports and doing this will have to put the application offline atlease for a say.
    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Vasana,
    Resolution: Failed to Open the Connection.
    First:
    If the Crystal Report is using 32-bit version of Microsoft ODBC then the Window 2008 server must also have 32-bit version of Microsoft ODBC. The 32- bit version of Odbcad32.exe is located in the %systemdrive%\Windows\SysWoW64 folder.
    On the Windows 2008 server, execute Odbcad32.exe by clicking start and run and entering the following: C:\Window\SysWow64\ODBC32.exe.
    Then:
    The Windows 2008 server ODBC Data Source Administrator must have the same System Data Source Server and Database Names that is used to run the Crystal Report.
    e.g. Crystal Report points to server ABC and database EFG (ABC_efg); then the ODBC connections on the Windows 2008 Server must also point to the same server ABC and database EFG (abc_efg) listed.

  • Cannot fix failed updates Code 80072F78

    I have W7 VM with failing Windows Updates that MUST be repaired.
    After spending some time trying to fix the problem I have no other choice but asking for help.
    The messages are in French but I guess it will not create any problem for getting it...
    Steps I took :
    1. There was an entry with IE proxy for Windows update.
    I reset winhttp.
    Assured:
    PS C:\Windows\System32\WindowsPowerShell\v1.0> netsh winhttp show proxy
    Paramètres de proxy WinHTTP actuels :
        Accès direct (sans serveur proxy).
    2. Windows update failed to download/install 11 updates with the error: Code 80072F78 (in GUI)
    I run the command below it showed bunch of updates (probably the same 11) that tried to use erroneous proxy.
    Here is one of them...
    PS C:\Windows\System32\WindowsPowerShell\v1.0>

    ProxyList           : {http://1602proxy.xxxxxxxxxxx:8080/}
    ProxyBypassList     : {172.20.*, *.xxxxx.xxx.ca, 10.*, <local>}
    3. I created a scheduled task for batch execution (c:\windows\system32\bitsadmin.exe /reset /allusers ) and run under System\nt authority. After running the task and verifying  again:AllUsers | f, I got no files listed.
    So I did hope that the problem was fixed... But not. The same error code.
    4, Next I cleaned completely Download and DataStore folders (in Software Distribution).Stoped/Started services and restarted
    computer. So no proxy is set. No abandoned updates... But the heck still gives the error.
    I am out of ideas. What else could be done?
    Thanks.

    some additional info, that I didn't mention...
    The client computer is not AD member so it should connect straight to Microsoft

  • DNS-resolution doesn't work with VPN

    Hello,
    I setup a l2tp vpn connection in the iPhone and nearly all works perfectly. But the most important part doesn't work: The DNS-resolution after connecting to the VPN.
    It's possible to send pings over the 'ping'-App and I also can ping the iPhone from the network. Safari also works with IP-Adresses. But when I try to use a hostname the resolution fails. Equally for internal and external addresses.
    On my MacBook Pro the VPN works and Mac OS is able to resolv hostnames. So the server should be alright.
    So I think there is a bug in the resolver-part of iPhone OS. Please fix this Apple.
    Kind regards,
    lord-of-linux

    Thanks for your hint to send this as a bug report. But today I had time and continued testing and changed some settings of my l2tp-Server and now I's working fine. I don't know where I had the mistake, but it seems that it was my fault.
    Now the only problem I have to solve is access over NAT, but this is not iPhone specific.

  • ISE ver 1.1.3.124 - DNS Resolution Errors.

    I am having a very strange issue with ISE version 1.1.3.124 running as a VM on UCS.
    When I login to ISE GUI using my browser I see a large number of Alarms:
    Alarm
    Occurred At:
    Mon Apr 15 19:45:01 UTC 2013
    Cause:
    DNS resolution failure on host device_name01.abc.xyz.com
    Details:
    DNS resolution failed for the hostname device_name01.abc.xyz.com
    against the currently configured name  servers. Ensure that you have configured a reachable name server using  the 'ip name-server <servername>' CLI.
    I have the 'ip name-server x.y.z.1' command configured in ISE using the CLI.
    From the CLI I resolve any other device names by PINGing from ISE CLI to any of my other devices in the network. So DNS seems to be working fine.
    But why am I getting the Alarms in ISE?
    Thanks for any help or suggestion in advance.
    Regards.
    Adil.

    Can you confirm that you have an A record for the ISE node configured on your DNS Server?
    If there is only a CNAME record, then you may see the specified error message.

    What might be the reason that the dns resolution fails the first time and works the successive ones?
    Thanks.

    All sounds ok but it could be that your Broadcom nic is not compatible: you should check what ccx version it supports because the access point performs LEAP, EAP-FAST

    These questions don't look like they are directly related to JMS, and seem more related to the tooling that you're using. I think you should try posting to a forum that's familiar with your environment. Perhaps you can choose a forum under "SOA & Process Management". Here's a link to the forum listing:

  • DNS Fails for NFS Server Shares

    When I boot, I get a message that DNS has failed for the NFS server mounts, and the shares do not mount. The message says, "mount.nfs: DNS resolution failed for server: name or service unknown." I have to mount the shares myself. Then when rebooting, I get the same error saying it can't unmount the shares.
    this is /etc/resolv.conf:
    $ cat /etc/resolv.conf
    # Generated by dhcpcd from eth0
    # /etc/resolv.conf.head can replace this line
    nameserver 208.67.222.222
    nameserver 208.67.220.220
    # /etc/resolv.conf.tail can replace this line
    this is /etc/conf.d/nfs:
    # Number of servers to be started up by default
    NFSD_OPTS=8
    # Options to pass to rpc.mountd
    # e.g. MOUNTDOPTS="-p 32767"
    MOUNTD_OPTS="--no-nfs-version 1 --no-nfs-version 2"
    # Options to pass to rpc.statd
    # N.B. statd normally runs on both client and server, and run-time
    # options should be specified accordingly. Specifically, the Arch
    # NFS init scripts require the --no-notify flag on the server,
    # but not on the client e.g.
    # STATD_OPTS="--no-notify -p 32765 -o 32766" -> server
    # STATD_OPTS="-p 32765 -o 32766" -> client
    STATD_OPTS=""
    # Options to pass to sm-notify
    # e.g. SMNOTIFY_OPTS="-p 32764"
    SMNOTIFY_OPTS=""
    Do I need to add some option to rpc.statd, or is there some other misconfiguration there? AFAIK it is the default. What else should I look at to fix this? I can ping the server by name, and log in with ssh by name, just fine. It's only the nfs that is failing with DNS.

    airman99 wrote:
    Yahoo! Good news, I've finally solved the problem on my laptop. The message I was receiving turned out merely to be a network timing issue.
    The error I was receiving was exactly correct and informative. When /etc/rc.d/netfs ran and executed a 'mount -a -t nfs...' the network was indeed NOT reachable. I am running networkmanager, and apparently during bootup, networkmanager gets loaded, but there is a delay between when networkmanager is loaded and when the network is available. In other words, networkmanager allows the boot process to continue before the network is available.
    My daemons are loaded in this order (rc.conf):
    DAEMONS=(syslog-ng hal dhcdbd networkmanager crond cups ntpdate ntpd portmap nfslock netfs)
    Consequently, if I add a delay to /etc/rc.d/netfs to allow time for the network to come up, then when the NFS shares are mounted, the network is up. In my case I had to add a 3 second delay.
    sleep 3
    I'm sure this isn't the best way to solve the problem, by editing the system file /etc/rc.d/netfs, because the next upgrade where changes occur to netfs, my fix will get overwritten. But I'll keep it until I figure out the "right" fix.
    The real solution is to not load networkmanager in the background, but to force startup to wait for the networok to be up before continuing.
    there is the _netdev option you can use in fstab, but that doesn't always work:
    http://linux.die.net/man/8/mount
    _netdev
        The filesystem resides on a device that requires network access (used to prevent the system from attempting to mount these filesystems until the network has been enabled on the system).
    Alternatively, you could just add a cronjob to do a mount -a with a sleep 20 in there or something. You might have to play with the sleep value a little to make sure it's long enough

    I did "relink all", but the message still the same and of course spend a lot of time on google.com without success.
    Does any one have any idea ?
    Thanks in advance.

    Goog remark of AllYourDataBase ! very good ! Why I didn't remark it by myself !!
    Thanks also for the other repliers ...
    But, I don't understand why emca call "/applics/ora10201/perl/bin/per" unstead "/applics/ora10204/perl/bin/perl" which exists ...
    No vairables points on 10.0.
    # env | grep 10201
    --> No lines returned
    # env | grep 10204 | wc -l
    19
    And my LIBPATH, LD_LIBRARY_PATH and PATH seems corrects :
    LIBPATH=/applics/ora10204/lib:
    LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/applics/ora10204/lib:/applics/ora10204/ctx/lib:/usr/lib:
    PATH=/applics/ora10204/bin:/applics/ora10204/ctx/bin:/usr/bin:/etc:/usr/sbin:/usr/ucb:/applics/ora10204/bin:/usr/bin/X11:/sbin:/expl/adm/shl:/applics/ora10204/OPatch:.:/usr/bin:/etc:/usr/sbin:/usr/ucb:/usr/bin/X11:/sbin:/usr/lbin
    LOCPATH=/usr/lib/nls/loc
    NLSPATH=/usr/lib/nls/msg/%L/%N:/usr/lib/nls/msg/%L/%N.cat
    Why emca call perl from 10.2.0.1 software and how can I influence it to call it from the right directory 10.2.0.4
    I continue to search by myself also.
    Thanks of all.

  • EhP5 Install Failed in START_SHDI_FIRST - can't start the shadow instance

    We are in the process of upgrading our ERP system from EhP4/NW701 to EhP5/702. The current phase is MAIN_SHADOW/START_SHDI_FIRST.  SAPehpi is having problem starting the shadow instance.  We tried to manually stop and start it as well, but of no help.  The log files 'STARTSFI.LOG' and 'DEVTRACE.LOG' don't seem to provide any useful information.  I looked through the files under the work directory for the shadow instance and still couldn't find any helpful information.  Where else should I look?  Please help!
    Thanks,
    Jonathan Yun

    Hi Srikishan,
    Thanks for your reply.  dev_disp didn't show much helpful information. However, dev_w0 did show error that I didn't except to see.
    Do you know if EhP5 installation require oracle 11g client to be installed?
    We ran into a problem at the beginning of the installation where /usr/sap/put/EHPI/abap/exe/dboraslib.o couldn't be loaded because it was looking for symbol strcat.  We did a dump of the header for it (dboraslib.o) and saw it reference oracle 11g client so we put the 11g client libraries out there for it to reference but didn't officially install it and change the libpath for the original system.  And now, dev_wo is complaining about not able to load /usr/sap/put/EHPI/abap/exe/dboraslib.o because it couldn't find strcat from the 10g client.  I tried manually changing the libpath so the 11g client path appears before the 10g client path and stop and start the shadow instance manually.  However, no matter what I set the libpath to, the error is the same.

    Regards,
    Chandra.

    Hi Chandra,
    this error may occure when you do not install DB2 on the node via db2setup on AIX. I assume you moved DB2 via ACC to this box. DB2 requires AIO. In general db2setup enables it for you. You can check this by issuing the following command: 'lsdev -Cc aio'
    The correct output should be like:
    aio0 Available Asynchronous I/O (Legacy)
    The wrong one with disabled AIO:
    aio0 Defined Asynchronous I/O (Legacy)
    Use 'smitty aio' to configute AIO for your machine.
    Regards,
    Steffen
