XSLT for RTF's  ?

Hi Experts
This is regarding a specific scenario where I have to generate RTF files as reports on the output side of an interface invoving SAP Xi 3.0
the scenario is as follows
SAP XI receives data from an Outbound proxy and the files that have to be created are of the nature : 5 .txt and 5 .csv and 5 .RTF's ,  we have planned to use multi maping but i have two main questions
a) Can we use just one mapping for .txt and .csv files , since the source data is the same and both formats are almost the same , and one mapping seperately for RTF formats ??
Since we plan to create these 15 files only at the adapter level so i think File Content Conversion will be the main player
b) Do we have to use XSLT mapping for creating report files in RTF format ?? is the normal File adapter shipped with XI 3.0 unable to cater to this ..???
I am new to XSLT so wanted to know how difficult is it ...and the creation of these  RTF files ...considering the fields in the mapping are just 7 ..which need to be written on to RTF files
Kindly help
Thanks
Dev

Hi Dev,
>>However it would be great if you can help me with some links on XSLT mapping specific to creating RTF documents
or otherwise
Try google, but just for start you can see these links
http://articles.techrepublic.com.com/5100-22_11-5078001.html
http://p2p.wrox.com/xslt/46457-xslt-rtf.html
>>I mean how can we use the same in receiver determination to create RTF format documents
Did you mean interface mapping used in Interface determination?? You need to use this XSLT mapping in the receiver communication channel... On how to call the XSLT mapping in receiver channel refer these blogs:

  • How do you change the default setting for RTF documents from TextEdit to MS Word

    How do you change the default setting for RTF documents from TextEdit to MS Word, I download forms from the Canadian government and they use RTF as a standard, they are supposed to open as MS Word documents (Yes I have Office for MAC 2011) but when download the document it goes to TextEdit which messes up the form format. I can down load it right click and go "open with" MS Word but how can I get the default chnaged to save this step.

    richr604 wrote:
    Thanks I knew this, I like Safari as I want to keep everything MAC, but if I use Firefox the documents open in MS Word straight away, I was just curious if there was some setting I could change?
    In Firefox > Preferences, click the Applications tab. If RTF is there, use the pulldown menu in the Action column to pick MS Word. If RTF is not there, there are instructions here for how to add file types.

  • Why is there no support for RTF files in Pages?

    Why is there no support for RTF files in Pages?
    This is nuts!

    You are not alone.
    Actions speak louder than words, but Apple does manage to still distract many from what is self evident before them.
    I am astonished by those who swear that non-existent features, or features that pre-exist the current version make Pages 5.2 a major upgrade.
    An affect that does seem to wear off with familiarity, as each version of Pages 5 gets a boost in the App Store, only to see the disapproval rating surge back again.
    Pages was always one of the top purchases in the App Store, now it doesn't even rate.

  • Custom XSLT for Biztalk Maps

    Hi,
    I have a input xml file and the output xml file. The input message is multi-part message.
    I have to create a custom xslt to convert input xml to output xml. The xslt should give an xml output. I have an another xslt to take this output as input and create the output in html form.
    Is there any way to convert the existing xslt (which give html output) to the xslt which has to create xml output.
    Thanks,
    Lakshmi

    Hi Lakshmi,
    You can the HTML-XSLT (used to output HTML ) as reference for outputting XML in BizTalk but there is no easy way to achieve it with help of any tool. Especially around the XPaths which can going to be similar.
    For instance, following an XSLT for outputting HTML
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
    <xsl:stylesheet version="1.0"
    xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform" xmlns:ns0="http://biztalk.orderapp.schemas.OrderResponse">
    <xsl:template match="/">
    <html>
    <body>
    <TABLE BORDER="0" cellspacing="2" cellpadding="2" width="90%">
    <TR>
    <TD colspan="8" align="center">
    <H1>Order Confirmation</H1>
    </TD>
    </TR>
    <TR>
    <TD colspan="2">
    <B>Order no : </B>
    </TD>
    <TD colspan="6" align="left">
    <xsl:value-of select="ns0:OrderHeader/ns0:OrderNumber/text()"/>
    </TD>
    </TR>
    </TABLE>
    </body>
    </html>
    </xsl:template>
    </xsl:stylesheet>
    And following an XSLT for outputting XML in BizTalk. You can see the similarities in XPATH and difference around the places they have been used to output HTML and XML.
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-16"?>
    <xsl:stylesheet xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform" xmlns:msxsl="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:xslt" xmlns:ns0="http://biztalk.orderapp.schemas.OrderResponse" xmlns:var="http://schemas.microsoft.com/BizTalk/2003/var" version="1.0">
    <xsl:output omit-xml-declaration="yes" method="xml" version="1.0" />
    <xsl:template match="/">
    <xsl:apply-templates select="/s3:Registration" />
    </xsl:template>
    <xsl:template match="/ns0:OrderConfirmation">
    <ns0:OrderConfirmation>
    <OrderNoo>
    <xsl:value-of select="ns0:OrderHeader/ns0:OrderNumber/text()" />
    </OrderNo>
    </ns0:Output>
    </xsl:template>
    </xsl:stylesheet>

  • Standard XSLT for Java(XML) Doclet

    I've just found "Java Doclet" <http://wwws.sun.com/software/xml/developers/doclet> for generating XML documentation from Java source code files rather than generating HTML. It is just what I want because I can easily create customized HTML versions out of the XML using XSLT sheet.
    I've wondered if there's available an XSLT for generating standard HTML just like the output of the standard doclet, to use as starting point for modifications?

    BTW, the closest thing I can think of is xmlroff which uses the output of this
    XML doclet to produce PDF (without cross-reference links, I believe)
    http://xmlroff.sourceforge.net/
    See the Javadoc example:
    http://xmlroff.sourceforge.net/examples/javadoc/index.html
    The source is at sourceforge:

    Also now available on SourceForge is the related PangoPDF project at

    and

    Please let me know what you think of these.

  • Unicode Export Preference for RTF

    Hi,
    I am exporting text in rtf format via javascript. How to set the rtf export preference to unicode?
    For eg in text we do
    with(app.textExportPreferences){
        //Options for characterSet: TextExportCharacterSet
        characterSet = TextExportCharacterSet.UTF16;
    What is the equivalent for rtf?
    Regards

    Good news! There is no such option for RTF because you do not need it!
    I was thinking, "If one can't change it then what does happen to non-ASCII characters? Maybe I could do a little testing?" And hey! it worked!

  • Anybody can help me for RTF conversion?

    Anybody can help me for RTF conversion for selected text frames only in Indesign by script

    ID has no built-in way to export a story as RTF with style labeling in a column next to the text, similar to what you would see in Story Editor view, but there is a remote possibility that this could be scripted (ask in InDesign Scripting) or perhaps you can make InDesign Tagged Text work for you. Try exporting a few paragraphs to tagged text and see if it would be useful.

  • Dynamic location for RTF file in Bursting Control File

    Hi
    I have a query that determines the directory location of the RTF file on the server. (eg. query returns /u01/apps/erpd2/inst/apps/erpd2_mcdeagaix821/temp/XMCI_B2CR009_RFS.rtf
    Instead of hard-coding this location as:
    <xapi:template type="rtf" location="/u01/apps/erpd2/inst/apps/erpd2_mcdeagaix821/temp/XMCI_B2CR009_RFS.rtf">
    </xapi:template>
    I change the above to
    <xapi:template type="rtf" location="${RTF_LOC}">
    </xapi:template>
    and fetch RTF_LOC at the bursting level in the Data template.
    After specifying the location as a token in the bursting control file, the Bursting program errors out. It does not even go to the post-processing stage.
    I have fetched the Outbound SMTP server name in a similar fashion and specified the same as a token in the Bursting XML. It works fine. Also, when I hard-code the same RTF location in the bursting file, it works! Just specifying it as a token errors out the bursting process.
    Pls advise.
    Ritu

    Hi Ritu,
    I am probably too late to help you, but here is an answer for completeness. I had the same problem as you, I needed to make my template selection dynamic.
    The bursting control file below was not working until I applied patch 8594771 (BURSTING DOES NOT SUPPORT ESCAPE CHARACTERS LIKE "FIRST LAST <[email protected]>" )
    I managed to find this patch by running the XML Publisher Report Bursting Program with debug=Yes and got the message "java.util.zip.ZipException: ZIP file must have at least one entry". Searching on Oracle Support for this message delivered patch number 8594771
    Here is my control file:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <xapi:requestset xmlns:xapi="http://xmlns.oracle.com/oxp/xapi" type="bursting">
    <xapi:request select="/XX_DUNNING/LIST_G_SITE_USE_ID1/G_SITE_USE_ID1/LIST_G_CORRESPONDENCES/G_CORRESPONDENCES">

    from="[email protected]"
    reply-to="[email protected]">
    <xapi:message id="email1" to="${CF_EMAIL_ADDRESS}" cc="${CF_CC_EMAIL_ADDRESS}"
    attachment="true"
    subject="${LIST_G_CUSTOM_LETTER_HEADER/G_CUSTOM_LETTER_HEADER/HEADER_TEXT}">
    ${LIST_G_CUSTOM_LETTER_FOOTER/G_CUSTOM_LETTER_FOOTER/FOOTER_TEXT}
    </xapi:message>
    </xapi:email>
    </xapi:delivery>
    <xapi:document output-type="pdf" delivery="email1">
    <xapi:template type="xsl-fo" location="${TEMPLATE_NAME}"
    filter=".//G_CORRESPONDENCES[DUNNING_METHOD='Email']">
    </xapi:template>
    </xapi:document>
    </xapi:request>
    </xapi:requestset>
    location="xdo://XX.${LETTER_NAME}.en.00" also worked

  • XSLT for-each within another for-each

    Hi All,
    My XSLT mapping needs to pick a field(BOL) from the Header and the using that, search the Items node for the matching BOL and generate the output accordingly.
    My current XSLT is as follows(not the entire program, just the snippet)
         <xsl:for-each select="ns0:Messages/ns0:Message1/ns1:MT_Header/Header">
                          <xsl:param name="search"><xsl:value-of select="bol"/></xsl:param>
         <xsl:for-each select="ns0:Messages/ns0:Message2/ns1:MT_Items/Item[BOL=$search]">
                  <Output>
                     <BOL_ITEM><xsl:value-of select="BOL_ITEM"/></BOL_ITEM>
                </Output>
         </xsl:for-each>
         </xsl:for-each>
    The following code works correctly(without the outer for-each and with hardcoding)
                             <xsl:param name="search">100</xsl:param>
         <xsl:for-each select="ns0:Messages/ns0:Message2/ns1:MT_Items/Item[BOL=$search]">
                  <Output>
                     <BOL_ITEM><xsl:value-of select="BOL_ITEM"/></BOL_ITEM>
                </Output>
         </xsl:for-each>
    So its the for-each within another for-each that does not work . Is there some syntax problem ? Or another way to achieve this in XSLT?

    Hi,
    In your xslt code within the for loop, for the trxSetIdentCode why are you using the xpath "/ns1:Transaction-997/ns1:Loop-AK2/ns1:Segment-AK2/ns1:Element-143"? It should be just "ns1:Segment-AK2/ns1:Element-143". Similar changes for segmentError and trxSetAckCode also should be done. Remove the '/ns1:Transaction-997/ns1:Loop-AK2/' part from your xpath expressions inside the for loop and try it.

  • XSLT for converting the determination server xml into the debugger xml

    I've seen this before but i can't find the post. I'm looking for an xsl or xslt document to convert a determination server xml payload request into something that can be imported into the debugger for analysis. It would be cool if the xml was constrained by the same xsd or dtd. Does anyone have a 10.3 xsl or xslt they could share? Or a past xsl?

    A while back I wrote some XSLT to convert SOAP request messages to the XDS format. I created a simple C# GUI to select the input SOAP and output XDS files. It was modelled on 10.1 schema though and I haven't adapted it yet for 10.2+. I will at some point though.
    I've found quickly being able to convert to the XDS format and debugging in the OPM rather than trawling through 1000's of lines of decision report a huge time saver.

  • XSLT for adding Namespace is not being executed at runtime

    Hi Gurus,
    I am trying to add a Namespace to inbound xml and I wrote a simple XSLT mapping as below, when I execute this using XML spy or in Operation mapping manually it is working fine and giving me output as expected but at runtime it is not executing, I am getting same input xml as output xml and receiver agreement is failing...
    Appreciate your thoughts..
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <xsl:stylesheet version="1.0" xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform">
         <xsl:output method="xml" encoding="UTF-8"/>
            <xsl:template match="*">
              <ns0:SalesXmlExtended xmlns:ns0="urn:/company.com/H/sndr">
              <xsl:copy-of select="//SalesReportInfo"/>
         </ns0:SalesXmlExtended>
         </xsl:template>
    </xsl:stylesheet>
    input xml is as below....
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <SalesXmlExtended>
         <SalesReportInfo>
              <SalesReport>
                   <Detail>
                        <deptNum>0270</deptNum> etc...
    output I am getting in XMLSpy and OM is as below, this is exactly what I need...
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <ns0:SalesXmlExtended xmlns:ns0="urn:/company.com/H/sndr">
         <SalesReportInfo>
              <SalesReport>
                   <Detail>
                        <deptNum>0270</deptNum>
    Thanks...

    Hi Baskar,
    Yeah, that is what my issue is , it shouldn't be failing but it is...
    I tried by manipulating the required namespace in the input file and it is working fine with out any errors....so I am guessing the XSLT is not being executed...
    I am getting below error which is valid because the transformation is not happening
