XSQL: problems using id-attribute-column

Hi,
I want to use id-attribute-column to put the records from a specific column in an attribute of an generated element of the same xsql:query. It works, but the query returns not only the attibutevalue in the attribute, bit also in an element.
How can I get rid o that extra element.
Can you please help me with this?
Greetings, Martijn

The attribute "id" is set properly but isn't shown in html
because there is no html-element corresponding to UIColumn.

• JPA Problem using alias for columns in a query

Hello, I am having some problems with a query that I am trying to use in my JEE project. This query doesnt return an entity but a group of values. I created a class representing the result and a query with the jpa constructor expression but it is not working.

• OSB 11g - Conditional Branch Problem using attribute selection

Folks,
Came across a problem using OSB Conditional Branch using attribute selection, it fails & is most likely a bug. It was bug in ALSB2.5 but read in forums was fixed in ALSB 2.6
things I am doing -
1. In the Msg Flow, Conditional branch is @ the start of the flow
Xpath :- ./cm:processLineItem/cm:lineItem/@actionCode
In-Variable: - body
Label: - MODIFY
Operator:- =
Value:- 'Modify'
It fails with BEA-382000 error Code

com.bea.wli.sb.stages.StageException: {bea-err}TYPE003: Runtime Type Mismatch
</con:reason>
What could be wrong with Xpath or is it a Bug ?
Thanks,
Abhijeet

Hi Abhijeet,
Your case is re-producible. It may be a bug.
BTW, I have noticed a strange behaviour -
1. If there is only one attribute then it works fine (<cus:lineItem actionCode="Modify")
2. If the attribute which you want to refer in selection, is in the last then also it works fine (<cus:lineItem priorityRanking="201" quantity="1"> actionCode="Modify")
So I will suggest you to raise a case with support and meanwhile as a workaround I would suggest you to use actionCode attribute in the last of lineItem node. So your XML should be like -

• Error in committing data while using dynamic attributes

Hi,
Module: Performance Management
Page: Give Final Ratings: Main Appraiser
Here, I have used dynamic attributes to show the competency name without segments.
I have added this attribute through controller and i passed value to this attribute in the same ProcessRequest method.
But, when the manager tries to complete the appraisal for his employee by pressing the continue button in the above mentioned page, the following exception is throwing.
"This competence already exists within the assessment."
Is this dynamic attribute will be the problem for this?
can any one please tell me?
Thanks in advance,
SAN

Hi,
If you added the column from Extended Controller. It should be a transient attribute to the VO and I think it should not create any issues.
Error "This competence already exists within the assessment." looks like from an FND Message , You can try to debug this issue by finding the FND Message Name corresponding to the error and search the Message Name in the seeded code.

• XSLT : Problem using xsl:value-of disable-output-escaping="yes"

Hello,
I have some problem using "disable-output-escaping" attribute of xsl:value-of() function.
I have a table SONGS with two columns XML and XSL filled with :
<song>

Isn't she lovely?

</song>
<xsl:stylesheet xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform" version="1.0">

<xsl:value-of select="title" disable-output-escaping="yes"></xsl:value-of>
</out>
</xsl:template>
</xsl:stylesheet>The query to transform XML with XSL :
SELECT XMLTRANSFORM (xml, xsl) FROM songs;I get this XML :
<out>Isn't she lovely?</out>but I want that (without the '&' special character) :
<out>Isn't she lovely?</out>How can I procees to succeed ?
Thanks,
Dominique

What DB version?
The following SQL
select xmltransform(XMLTYPE('<song>

Isn''t she lovely?

</song>'), XMLTYPE('<xsl:stylesheet xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform" version="1.0">

<xsl:value-of select="title" disable-output-escaping="yes"></xsl:value-of>
</out>
</xsl:template>
</xsl:stylesheet>'))
from dual;produces this on 11.1.0.6

<out>Isn't she lovely?</out>and this on 10.2.0.4
<out>Isn't she lovely?</out>I found a couple of previous discussions regarding this at

The last discussion provides a workaround if you need it.

• Using the attribute "TruncateAt"

Hi,
so as many readers or posters i´m new to JDeveloper. Now i have a problem. It looks like there´s no 'TruncateAt' attribute for the af:goLink. With af:outputText he´s doing well. So are there any possibility's to cut an URL which is shown in a column? Thx for suggestions.
Dirk

Normally, Roel's advice is good. However, if you DO want DDT to use existing attributes as your foreign key columns, you can do it. Make sure that your primary key attributes are noted as such. I believe that the column name of the foreign key in the detail table does need to be the same as the column name of the primary key in the master table.
In DDT, press the Settings button and select the tab labeled "Keys". Uncheck the checkbox labeled "Create surrogate keys for all new tables". Of course, if you have some tables for which you DO want DDT to create key columns, you'll have to generate these in a separate DDT batch. You can always see exactly what DDT proposes to create by pressing the "Show Run Set" button.

• Problem using a conditional suppress in a cross-tab ?

is there a problem using a conditional suppress in a cross-tab on a row or summarized field in crystal XI?
I am using the following conditional suppress on a summarized field and its rows
If {@SortCode}=4 then true;
Sortcode is a group sorting formula field
the summarized field is a formula field as well.
All of the summarized fields are suppressed although the cross- tab performs correctly on @Sortcode and the summarized field when not using the condition
it seems to me to be a reporting flow issue although i've included "whileprintingrecords" and "evaluateafter" with no success.
i have also moved the cross-tab from the report header to group header and applied a conditional suppress on the group header through section expert.
this supresses the group i dont want but includes grand totals for each group and also varys the number of columns
i can't filter on sortcode because one of the grand total calculations requires those records and a subreport or second cross-tab does not contain the same number of columns
the cross-tab is necessary as a client may have columns spanning one to many pages
thanks for your help

Hi I have a similar problem,
I have an clock in solution, where i have some dates with data such as, various entries for a date eg, 01/11/2010 1hr, 01/11/2010 3 hrs etc, 03/11/2010 2hrs , 05/11/2010 4.5hrs, 05/11/2010 4 hrs so i need total for each day and highlight only those days, where total is less than 4.5, including days which donu2019t have records eg 02/11/2010 & 04/11/2010, I summarise in totals using a cross tab, to get summarised output for each day as,
Totals
01/11/2010    4
03/11/2010    2
05/11/2010    8.5
in order to get the dates which didnu2019t have records, i added a dataset from Excel spreadsheet where i just have a sequential dates for the year , and use record selection to select only those dates in range which i need to display, so the result i get
01/11/2010    4
02/11/2010    0
03/11/2010    2
04/11/2010    0
05/11/2010    8.5
so far so good, all using cross tab, now i want to suppress rows which have total > 4.5 so the result should be
01/11/2010    4
02/11/2010    0
03/11/2010    2
04/11/2010    0
How can i do that?

• Use of attributes in FIX statement w/ other mbrsets

Hi all,I just discovered that in 6.1.4, using a FIX statement like:FIX (@ATTRIBUTE("Diet"), @LEVMBRS(Products, 0))will actually select all products, not just a subset that have the attribute "Diet" (where "Diet" is, of course, an attribute of products).Now you might think I'm ignorant, since it seems logical that the subset "Diet" might be overridden by the superset "Products". However the same problem happens if I use:FIX (@ATTRIBUTE("Diet"), @ATTRIBUTE("Discontinued"))This statement returns neither the intersection nor the union of those two subsets - I seem to get ALL products.What gives? Am I just a foolish country boy?-dan

Does this select ALL of the products, or just the Level 0 products? The reason I ask is that the statement will not be combined using AND logic - only members of different dimensions will be combined using AND logic. Try the following:FIX (@LEVMBRS(Product, 0) AND @ATTRIBUTE(Diet))Now, if your attribute is at level 0 (I assume it is) and you want to select them, just use:FIX (@ATTRIBUTE(Diet))That will select all of the products that have a Diet attribute.Hope that helps.Regards,Jade-------------------------------Jade ColeSenior Business Intelligence ConsultantClarity [email protected]

• Facing problem with a date column in select query

Hi,
I am facing problem with a date column. Below is my query and its fainling with " invalid number format model" .
Query: SELECT *
FROM EMP
WHERE trunc(LAST_UPDATED) >= to_date(to_char(22-05-2009,'dd-mm-yyyy'),'dd-mm-yyyy')
LAST_UPDATED column is "DATE" data type.

You do not need the TRUNC here in any case.
I don't think so. What if the user wants only data for 22nd May and the table has records with date later than 22nd also? In that case your query willl not work. In order for the Index to work, I think the query can be written like this I think Sean is right though. Use of TRUNC Function is quiet useless based on the condition given here, since the to_date Function used by OP will always point to midnight of the specified date, in this case 22-05-2009 00:00:00.

Jo
Edit: I think Sean proved his point... ;)

• Problem using the Write to SGL VI and Read from SGL VI

Hello Sir, I have a problem using the Write to SGL VI. When I am trying to write the captured data using DAQ board to a SGL file, I am unable to store the data as desired. There might be some problem with the VI which I am using to write the data to SGL file. I am not able to figure out the minor problem I am facing. I am attaching a zip file which contains five files.
1) Acquire_Current_Binary_Exp.vi -> This is the VI which I used to store my data using Write to SGL file.
2) Retrive_BINARY_Data.vi -> This is the VI which I used to Read from SGL file and plot it
3) Binary_Capture -> This is the captured data using (1) which can be plotted using (2) and what I observed is the plot is different and also the time scare is not as expected.
4) Unexpected_Graph.png is the unexpected graph when I am using Write to SGL and Read from SGL to store and retrieve the data.
5) Expected_Graph.png -> This is the expected data format I supposed to get. I have obtained this plot when I have used write to LVM and read from LVM file to store and retrieve the data.
I tried a lot modifying the sub VI’s but it doesn’t work for me. What I think is I am doing some mistake while I am writing the data to SGL and Reading the data from SGL. Also, I don’t know the reason why my graph is not like (5) rather I am getting something like its in (4). Its totally different. You can also observe the difference between the time scale of (4) and (5).
Have a Good Day

As already discussed a while ago, your binary data does not contain timing information. You need to tell it the scan rate so it can reconstruct the time axis correcty.
From the data, it seems the sample file was recorded at 0.5MHz. Take the inverse and set the time increment. Voila!
Your sample file is two column data with one colum all zero. You need to set the number of columns to two, to only get the good data in channel 1.
Your acquisition program contains unecessary FOR loops, you can remove the inner loops without change in result.
It makes no sense to convert to SGL if you initialize the shift registers with an empty DBL array. You need to initialize with an empty SGL array.
(The code could be simplified quite a bit more, but this should give you some directions).
The attached zip shows some ideas (LabVIEW 7.1).

• Spec oversight? Using dynamic-attributes in XML tag files

I have a couple of tagfiles that generate form elements with specific conventions for the 'name' and 'value' attribute. Basically, a data binding framework.
Dynamic attributes are useful because you can delegate all the usual html attributes to the generated HTML form element: SELECT, INPUT, id, class etc.
The usual way to do this is to concatenate all the "pass-through" attributes to a string, and append this string to the element generated:
<input type="hidden" name="foo" ${dynattrs}/>I'm wondering how to do this in a tagfile in XML format (mytag.tagx), since the XML format forbids syntax like in the example above.
jsp:attribute won't help much, if it's nested inside a c:forEach: it won't apply to the right element.

Ran into the same problem with 'optional attributes'. (see post "JSP 2.0 Tag files outputting elements with conditional attributes" http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jspa?forumID=45&threadID=681033)
Found a solution that is not very elegant but does work and saves you the trouble of reverting to Java Tags. Consider the following tag-file that outputs an html input-tag with conditional attributes:

<jsp:root xmlns:jsp="http://java.sun.com/JSP/Page" version="1.2"
xmlns:c="http://java.sun.com/jsp/jstl/core">
<jsp:directive.attribute name="name" required="true" type="java.lang.String"/>
<jsp:directive.attribute name="id" required="false" type="java.lang.String"/>
<jsp:directive.attribute name="value" required="false" type="java.lang.String"/>
<jsp:directive.attribute name="disabled" required="false" type="java.lang.Boolean"/>
<jsp:directive.attribute name="hint" required="false" type="java.lang.String"/>
<jsp:directive.attribute name="cssClass" required="false" type="java.lang.String"/>
<jsp:text><input type="text" name="<c:out value="${name}"/>"</jsp:text>
<c:if test="${!empty id}"> id="<c:out value="${id}"/>"</c:if>
<c:if test="${!empty cssClass}"> class="<c:out value="${disabled?(cssClass + '-disabled'):cssClass}"/>"</c:if>
<c:if test="${disabled}"> disabled="disabled"</c:if>
<c:choose>
<c:when test="${!empty value}"> value="<c:out value="${value}"/>"</c:when>
<c:when test="${!empty hint}"> value="<c:out value="${hint}"/>" onfocus="if(this.value=='<c:out value="${hint}"/>')this.value='';"</c:when>
</c:choose>
<jsp:text>/></jsp:text>
</jsp:root>In answer to your question: Yes, it looks like an oversight. Using the jsp:attribute tag in a c:forEach doesn't work because the attribute is then applied to the forEach tag. You would have to put the attribute-tag inside a jsp:body tag (inside the forEach). Then it would apply not to the forEach tag but to the tag enclosing the forEach. However, this doesn't work either, or at least it doesn't work in Tomcat 5.5. Could be a bug though, JSP 2.0 is still very buggy (for instance, using a tagfile inside another tagfile from the same taglib doesn't seem to work either...)
Anyway, if you ever find a good solution please let me know by posting to this topic!
TIA

• Problem removing session attributes

I have a problem removing session attributes
I try w/ mysession.removeAttribute("key");
but it still lives in memory. I've tried setAttribute("key", null) as the API states that will do the same thing, but it doesn't work.
I can get mysession.invalidate() to work, but I want to keep some of the attributes there, while removing another.
I get no exceptions and no errors.
Help.
Running Tomcat 4
jre 1.3.1

Actually,
response.addHeader("Expires", "-1");should be enough.
The browser should then contact the Web server for updates to that page via a conditional If-Modified-Since request. You don't want a cache disabling 'overkill', since you'd still want the page to remain in the disk cache and used in appropriate situations without contacting the remote Web server, such as when the BACK and FORWARD buttons are pressed...
Anyway, try this first, and if it doesn't solve your problem, add the other cache-disabling headers, as outlined in the previous post.
If you're using JSP, verify also that your page has
<%@ page session="true"%>
