Trouble playing You Tube video on iPad 2 - stops/starts - can't get through a single video. HELP.

I have the iPad 2 Wi-Fi + 3G but it's not currently on my Verizon plan - only connects via home wireless internet. I'm confused as to why I've never been able to successfully play/view any kind of video via the internet? The video loads and begins to play...but about 10 seconds in...it hangs up and then I have to play a cat and mouse game of pause/play to get it to 'load' a little bit more...and finally about 60 seconds worth I throw in the towel and head for the iPhone or my Mac. So what gives? My iPad does so much...even plays videos I TAKE. Why won't it play You Tube videos???!!! Is that Icon on my Home Screen just to taunt me and store the videos I'll never be able to view more than 10 seconds???
Please help guide me to the simple fix.

Try viewing youtube from the browser and going to youtube.com rather than using the YouTube app.
Also, try at different times of day and report back. Where I am, by 7pm the cable modem slows down considerably with all the Netflix viewing. I swear Comcast is throttling bandwidth for video streaming!

You Tube videos are expanded to 15 min and/or 2GB. Update when?

I called in a support ticket when I attempted to upload a project that was with in the 15 min and 2GB size limitation for You Tube however since they were greater than 10 minutes iMovie would not upload. Answer I got from Apple Care was that they would make a note of it and work on it. Is this causing other folks headaches?

I never use the direct Share method for YouTube.
Try exporting your clip from iMovie to either QuickTime (lots of variables) or to Media Browser at the highest possible resolution then use your Internet browser (Safari?) to log into your YouTube account and upload from there.
A far more reliable method and gets around the size/time limitations.

You Tube videos slow to load & play

For the past couple of weeks I have been having a lot of problems trying to play you tube videos. The same problem occurs in all browsers. The video loads very slow & then stops & starts all the way through. I have the latest version of flash & did double check this. I unistalled flash & then reinstalled the latest version. This was happening in Snow Leopard so I upgraded to Lion & the same problem occurs.
Today I went over to my daughter's house with my laptop & much to my surprise, you tube videos played perfect there! Could I have an airport problem?? I have airport extreme- first generation. I just can't seem to figure this out.

I went to the Adobe support site & discovered that this may be a Flash issue. They are working on it but really haven't figured out why Flash is crashing.

Everytime I open a new page in firefox a you tube video keeps opening and playing, how do I stop this?

YouTube videos embedded were working fine until today? Now they error: "An error occurred, please try again later. Learn More.
The videos still work perfectly in Chrome, and work okay in Safari (by installing the "ClickToPlugin" extension to Safari, the videos now play in HTML5 mode but no longer link to You Tube).
In Firefox, they don't play or link to You Tube anymore. I updated to the latest Firefox and Flash. I've been researching this all day today and going back and forth with my hosting support team at Site Ground, but we have not been able to resolve this issue, so I am contacting you out of desperation.
Can you please help me to get the You Tube Videos working properly in Firefox?

I thought I had tried removing "nocookie" yesterday to no avail, so at first I figured since I had all ready tried it that it wouldn't help.
Today I thought what the heck let me try it again, as I am desperate for a solution. Amazingly enough it fixed the issue! Firefox is now playing the YouTube videos and linking to YouTube again. Hurray!
Also, in Safari, the YouTube videos are playing and linking to YouTube again, and the play button is back. That's just great!

First, confirm that ActiveX Filtering is configured to allow Flash content:

More than likely, it is your internet connection speed. The iPad will not stream or download as fast as your computer will even though they are using the same WiFi network in your home.

You can download an app called SpeedTest on the iPad and check your connection on that as well.
Try viewing YouTube videos from a public WiFi place like Barbes and Noble or Starbucks and see what you get there with everyone sucking down bandwidth.

Adobe? and my You Tube Videos

Checking out my My Space account loads slow and sez I have to download a new version of Adobe to see artwork? Then on "You Tube" video it loads "durkART Creations" but doesn't load "durkART Coloring Book 2007" nor "durkART dancing". Wondering is these 2 problems are related. and How can I solve them ? Of course they work fine on my mac and ibm. GELP

The iPhone does not support Flash, so even though it says 'download a new version' it really means it's just not gonna show that part of the site.
As for the missing YouTube videos, the YouTube widget for the iPhone only displays h.264 encoded videos. YouTube is gradually converting their catalog of Flash based videos to h.264, so only those converted videos are viewable/searchable on the iPhone.

Why is Firefox crashing when I am playing You Tube favorites playlists and other You Tube videos?

Lately within the last 2-3 weeks I have had a lot of crashes on my computer when I am running Firefox version 3.6.3 and trying to watch You Tube videos. It seems to only crash when I am on You Tube. It crashes even quicker when I am on Internet Explorer or Google Chrome. I have installed the latest version of Adobe Flashplayer recently. I never had trouble watching You Tube videos until recently. The You Tube site will open, I sign in, and then I go to my subscriptions or favorites and select a video. It will begin to play, get a minute or so in, and then I get the error message that it's crashed.

I am not sure I did this right. This is what I did: right-mouse clicked on the desktop, whent to properties, went to display properties, went to settings, clicked on advanced tab, and then clicked on troubleshooting tab. There I drug the hardware acceleration slider to the left to disable it, clicked ok twice as directed, restarted the computer and then I couldn't get firefox to open at all, but I went to internet explorer and got on you tube and tried to watch a video, but it crashed again.
So I don't think that worked. I couldn't figure out how to disable hardware acceleration in the Flash plugin, but did it on the desktop instead. Are there different steps I need to take to accomplish this?

Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
There are a number of factors in the 'speed' equation. Any or all of them can affect the 'observed' speed of your connection.
1. Are you in a neighborhood full of WiFi routers (and thus, lots of WiFi interference)? I can 'see' at least 22 other WiFi routers from my living room!
2. What is the maximum connect speed and band and bandwidth available from your wireless router. Is it 802.11n or the older 802.11a/b/g? 300Mbits or 150Mbits? 2.4Ghz or 5Ghz or both? Does your router measure (QoS) Quality of Service and can it change 'channels' automatically?
3. What is the observed strength of your wireless connection? Are you getting at least 80% signal when connected? Are there other people in your family also using significant bandwidth at the same time (Netflix, streaming video, streaming audio, game systems)
4. What is the "advertised" speed of your current ISP connection?
5. What is the measured throughput of your current setup. Go to speedtest.net or use the free speedtest.net app available in the App Store. Try several times, from different locations in your home, and at different times of day and night.
I have AT&T DSL advertised at 3Mbit/sec down and 512Kbit/sec up. My Speedtest.net measured throughput is about 2.4 Mbit/sec downstream and upstream is about 0.4Mbit/sec. I'm using a Motorola Netopia 2210-2 DSL modem. I have no problem viewing YouTube videos and other mobile video content on the iPad 2. I'm connected wirelessly to a D-Link DIR-655 Gigabit router rated at 150Mbps at 2.4Ghz (only) with 802.11 b/g/n enabled. The interior of my home is within a range of 30-50 feet from the router and no more than 1 wall. It is a single level concrete slab foundation of about 1500 sq. ft. with cathedral ceilings. I have successfully streamed ESPN3.com on my MacBook at the same time my son was streaming another ESPN3.com game on his MacBook Pro. I've streamed YouTube videos while my son was watching a NetFlix movie on his Wii game system. He's also successfully used Skype for extended 'teleconferences.' None of my devices are connected to HDMI on a large screen TV. 95% of the time, I can do iChat video without any signal breakup to my son (who is at a college with a Gigabit (1000Mbit) wired connection!). 5% of the time the connection drops. We haven't tried FaceTime (designed for mobile connections to be much less bandwidth-intensive, from what I understand) simply because we both have iChat on our computers.
So for me, a 3Mbit DSL connection is absolutely adequate, given all the other parameters mentioned. As the car manufacturers say, "Your mileage may vary."
