Youtube Player in Shockwave Sprite
I'm trying to embed FLV videos from YouTube into a Flash cast
member and sprite. YouTube has an ActionScript 2 API for their
player and I'm using Director 11 and Flash CS 3.

I need to pull them from YouTube, I can't download them to
disk and then use them.
I can embed a movie with a normal FLVplayer component and get
it to play video from the net. Lingo really isn't doing anything
here. The ActionScript looks like this (CODE SNIPPET 1):
But using the YouTube player I need to use their API, so the
code looks like this (CODE SNIPPET 2).
When I test the movie in Shockwave it loads the player and
ytplayer.isPlayerLoaded returns true, but the video does not play.
Does anyone have any ideas what the problem might be? When I
simply publish from Flash it all works. I think I'm close
...

The only thing I had to add was some code to initialize the
sprite:

Include an interactive Youtube player in Edge Animate - Not working properly!
Hi folks!
I am working on a new project which is based on a interactive web video.
In the Edge Animate proyect I have implemented a Youtube fullscreen player which has interactivity. On the one side, in the Edge project I have included a JS which contains the definition of the Youtube player API and all its functions in order to enable the interactivity. On the other side, in the HTML which creates Edge Animate I have included the div for the player and some buttons to play and stop the Youtube video.
When I launch the website using Edge Animate everything works fine, but when I open the HTML file without Edge Animate, the Youtube player is not being defined (the player div is empty). I think the problem may be related to the external JS file in the Edge project.
I don't recognise why this external JS with the Youtube functions only load when it is launched from the Edge Animation app.
My aim is to load this project as a OAM file at the end in Wordpress with the Youtube player and its interactivity included.
Need help for this issue! Does some know how to fix it?
Conclusion:
Fullscreen animation with Youtube Player as background with some buttons in the HTML project file to play and stop the youtube video. Youtube API functions inside an external JS file and included in the Edge Animate project. Only works when the animation is launched with Edge Animate. If the HTML file is open directly, Youtube player is empty.
PD: I have attached some images in order to offer a clearer vision of this problem.Actually yes...!

There is another error...maybe this is the problem source:

As im a hardware technician i ve updated everything from bios, audio drivers , display etc....
After a long searching i found out that flash (player or shockwave) seems to cause the problem... what i mean is that whenever i visit certain sites, or watching videos from web players the pc is starting to freeze, crash , lag etc... if i leave it for a long time... the OS is totally crashed, and i need to reboot the pc after that, if i close the browser in the middle of the freezing ( the respond times of clicks etc is so damn slow...) if i manage to close everything related to adobe flash - firefox etc - and i open a game for example the pc is behaving like a charm....
My question is... is anybody else having this problem ?
And if u have it, what did you do or what do you suggest me to do in order to get this lame lag fixed ?Hi, Since your OS is a 64bit, and Adobe Flash Player does not support the 64bit, you need to use the 32bit browser which is the default in Win7.
Go to C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash Right click on the Flash folder and post back all files listed. The IE files will have the version number. The NPSWF files will not, right click on each one and then Properties to obtain the version info. I need all of the files listed with that info.
Using IE, go to your ALL add ons and find Shockwave Flash Object...ActiveX Control...Flash10e.ocx (vs 10.0.45.2) and make sure that is listed and Enabled.
Using FF, find the plug-in SWF and make sure it is version 10.0.45.2 and Enabled as well.
Please list your Anti-Virus/Spyware/Firewall info, with a version number for the AV.
Do you have ad-block in Firefox? If so Disable it for now.
Do you use any pop up blocking software?
Using IE, go to Tools>Internet Options>Security Tab and make sure security is set to Medium for the Internet Zone.

Im using stagewebview to embed a youtube-video (tried both, iframe and old embed).
1) On most older devices, the youtube-flash player is shown "as is", the original swf-player including all the controls etc.
2) On most newer devices, this stupid Android-Os-Player takes over and replaces the youtube-player, often causing some unpredictable side effects.
How can i force stagewebview to always use option 1, the youtube-player (flash is installed anyway on most devices) ?
My client does not care about performance, a consistent look/behavior is more important.
Are there any html-attributes or stageWebView settings i can use to accomplish that task ?

It shows a black box on my samsung tab 10.1, and if you tapp on it really fast you can get it to go into fullscreen mode where it place the youtube video. Any one have any ideas on how to get it to work in non full screen.

Hi All,
I want to have the youtube player within my flex app. At the moment I use the swfloader which loads my movie.
This is ok. But I have 2 questions.
By default the fullscreen button isn't available within this player.
1. How can I add this fullscreen button?
And I get some error when loading another video. Read some articles that the swfloader have to unload the first video, but am not succeeded in doing this.
2. Can someone provide an example?
(or if there is a better way to embed the youtube player, please let me know!)

A click on this button won't do the trick but I have found a workaround. Added an transparant button above the Fullscreen button in the player, catch the click and perform a custom function.
In this function I define a Rectangle and do a: stage.displayState = "fullScreen".
But, almost there, I'm getting annoying scrollbars within my fullscreen modus!
The cause of this is that the fullscreen modus want to show all elements at the stage. But that is not what I want because I only want to show the region within my Rectangle.
Is there a way to remove the scrollbars from the fullscreen modus, and only show the part within the Rectangle? -

MPEG-4 is actually a pretty versatile standard, and with a reference movie you can have multiple movies available for varying quality. The details are discussed in the drop down sections of the above link, but you can have 1 link on your website point to a low bandwidth version for cellular users, a higher bandwidth version for iPhone or iPod Touch on WiFi, and then a third version in HD for people at their computers.

When YouTube support was announced for the iPhone, it was also announced that youTube will be converting the videos to H.264, and approx 10,000 of them would be ready at the time of the iPhone release with more added each week.

C6 Youtube player doesn't work
I just bought a C6 and at the beginning the youtube player worked perfectly.
But now it wont start anymore, its not possible to see videos neither on the player nor downloading them>on the screen appears sentence "Youtube XL no longer supported" and that's all.

Slight letterboxing in youtube player from SD video
I have uploaded a video to youtube and in the youtube player I get a slight letterbox. Looking at other SD videos on youtube I don't notice this.
Video was shot on a Samsung F40 BN SD, My settings in PE11 was NTSC Flash memory standard 48khz. I uploaded in PE11 using youtube
H.264 640x480.Try creating a new project. On the New Project option screen, click Settings and select the settings for a Flip Mino (standard definition). Then, back at the New Projec screen, select the option to Force Settings on Project.
Those project settings should better fit your video.
Then, to output a video for YouTube, use Publish & Share/Computer/AVCHD and select the Vimeo SD preset. -
Adobe Flash Player and Shockwave crashing has disabled my computer
I have downloaded a second flash player and it is still the same. Firefox has been crashing daily for a few weeks. I noticed that your adblocker plus was updated 6/4. Since then I have almost no use of firefox, because the Adobe flash player 13.0.r0 and Shockwave crash notices are constantly popping up. Could that update have something to do with why the flash players are not working? Below are an example of the crash details.

In trying to fix it, a window came up that asked would I like to change it back to a previous working image, which was Windows XP. Although this computer is Windows 7, I clicked the box yes, and said I wanted it to work like Windows XP. I can't find that menu to change unclick and change it back, so that it is working as Windows 7.

Flash has been a pain since day 1 and Mozilla is currently working to replace Flash with Shumway. Unfortunately it's in the Nightly channel, doesn't come activated automatically and it isn't quite ready for normal usage. I just tested Nightly yesterday with Shumway and it wouldn't play. -
Youtube player in the middle of the page
Since I updated to firefox 5 the youtube video player is in the middle of the page with gray areas on the sides, it doesn't matter if I expand the view or or change resolution, I think the problem is firefox because this doesn't happen with chrome or IE. How can I fix this?, thank you.

I just switched from an HP laptop to a MacAir laptop. I had previously developed a number of powerpoints in which i have video links that require adobe shockwave player. I can no longer play them on the MacAir. Is it safe to download the Adobe player? If not how can I play these videos now?
Adobe players are safe. Go to adobe.com and their site should detect the latest version for your hardware.

Flash player and shockwave player "not installed"
I recently downloaded the most current shockwave player and
flash player, but when I go to a website that requires the program
it tells me that I need to install the shockwave player/flash
player. I download each again and have even shut down and rebooted
to see if that helps but it doesn't, it keeps telling me that the
shockwave player/flash player is not installed and that I need to
install it again. Can anyone help me find out if there are any
settings that might need to be changed on my computer to let them
run? Customer support was no help what so ever and just told me to
reinstall.
