Zen MicroPhoto Wont turn

I have a Zen MicroPhoto that wont turn on. The Computer wont recognize it. The batery was fully charged when i was using it. I turned it off to go to class. Then went to turn it back on and it doesn't do anything.

Take the battery out, and then put it back in. Try turn the Zen on. The Zen should re-boot, wait for the library to be rebuilt, and then you should have access to your music etc.

My zen has been down for the last week, hangs up on creative screen. I took the battery out and was able to get to the recovery mode but "disc scan" would not do anything(in limbo) and "reboot "met with the same result, nothing. If you want to talk to anyone at creative and are past your 6 month warranty window you have to pay $20 for the phone call. Well I decided to take matters into my own hands and spent yesterday morning researching old threads about this problem. I kept finding an uncommon fix. When you hold your power button on and replace you battery and the recovery screen starts up you wrap on the back with your knuckle, in my case I hit my zen face down sharply on my dresser. To my amazement the "Doobie Brothers" started playing and I have'nt had any problems yet. Evidently these systems have a hard dri've that hangs up. It may not work for you but it cured my glitch.

there is a tiny hole below the on/off switch, use a paperclip to push it to reset it. It shd solve your prob

My Zen (4gb) wont turn

I just got my Zen (4gb), but it won't turn on.
I charged it as it said in the manual, installed the tools from the CD, but nearly nothing is happening. The screen turns white, but then it turns gray (as it's shutting down). The things is, when I connect it to the computer, I can copy music to it, but still, it wont turn on!?

you should have installed the software first (before plugging in your player).
when you were charging it for the first time, was it working normally (i.e. you've seen the red wallpaper etc.)?

Zen microphoto wont load full music library

+?hello. i've had the zen microphoto 4gb?for about 5 yrs now..and never had any problems, untill now. last night when i was putting more music on it, when i unplugged it from the computer, it froze up on me, and i had to take out the battery to get it to turn off and?re-boot. but now it will only goes a /4 of the way through "rebuilding library"? screen, stalls for a min, then jumps to the music screens,?and over 800+ songs and all my playlist and even a few genre's are gone. please help. is there any way to get the full library to re-load? when i go to the infomation section of the player, its stating that i only have 20 songs on it, but that i only have 45mb of memory left, thats what it was saying when i had my full 000+ songs on it. i really dont want to have to format it and start all over again, is there anything i can do to get my player to rebuild the full library. thanks in advanced.

Your music files are someplace else besides the player? What is the problem with formatting the player? It would most likely solve your issue. Just go back into recovery mode do the format >cleanup>reboot & reload your music back on to the player.

Microphoto Wont turn

OK - my zen microphoto has a problem -the lcd screen shows a song in the library, but none of the buttons work. I fully charged it last night, and even tried to RECOVER it - . I took the battery out, waited then put it in and turned it on - screen said rebuildig library then it goes to a song in the library but doesnt do anything. I cant even turn it off. The player isnt showing as connected to Windows Media or ANYwhere else! I dont have a reset button and cant even get to the firmware option. HELP

Have you tried using the Recovery Mode
remove the back cover
remove battery
while the battery is removed, turn the <i>ON</i> switch on
keep the switch held to the ON position and replace battery & back cover
your Zen MicroPhoto should boot into the Recovery Menu
select Disk Clean Up and let it finish- should only take a few moments
select Reboot and see if that has fixed the problem
Formatting is a next possible step, but you will lose all content on your ZMP, be sure that you've backed up everything that you want to save.
Do not select Reload Firmware unless instructed by Creative Support staff. See if Disk Clean Up helps first.
Reloading Firmware is more a last resort.

Zen V - Wont turn on at a

Hi,
Was jsut wondering if anyone had any advice or ideas. Just got my new Zen V 2gb yesterday. It was working fine until tonight when i put some music on then it all just stopped. THe player turned off and it all disconnected from the computer and stopped etc etc.
Now it wont turn on, the computer wont reeecognise it (power issue i imagine). Have to travel quite a long way to take it back to store, so was jsut wondering if its a simple problem i have missed.

Try to access the recovery mode: Hold down the "play/pause" button while pulling down the "on/off" slider. That's all I can think of. Good Luck !

Zen micros wont turn

can anyone help ? i have 2 new zen micros , charged both , one turned on is working fine. the other displayed creative zen micros corparation, and thats all it will do . wont turn off .i have to take the battery out. put it does the same thing . now the screen is just blank

Go into rescue mode and run a disk cleanup.
If this won't work the player is faulty and you need to get it replaced.

What site did you buy it from? You should be able to print off a valid receipt, as long as it's not an auction site like eBay.

Zen Touch wont turn on nor cha

i brought my zen touch 2 days ago, i charged it and once it went dead flat i put it back on charge and now it wont chrage at all or turn on. i tryed charging it thought usb but that wont world either. how suggestions?

Is this the Zen 20GB (looks like a Zen Micro)? If so, the reset button is located underneath the power switch (move it to the left and you will see a small button underneath, this is it). To get into rescue mode, hold the switch to the left and the press the reset button (keep the switch held until you get into the rescue mode screen).

HELP PLZ!!! MY 40gb Zen Xtra Wont Turn O

Just to answer that specific question, it's not bad for the player and shouldn't cause any problem.

Zen 4gb wont turn

Recently while trying to download a video from my computer onto the Zen, the Zen crashed. I left, as the conversion was taking awhile and I left the Zen plugged in. When I came back, the Converter said the Zen player was not ready, and it's screen was just black and the backlight was blinking.
I unplugged it and the blinking stopped. I can't reset it, as I have tried several times so far. I can turn it on, and when i do nothing happens. When the Zen is plugged into the computer, the screen blinks. The computer also will not detect it. I have read around the website and have not found anything that can help. I do not think I have the latest firmware. I haven't updated it and have had it since Christmas. I'm running Windows XP professional.

I had a Creative ZEN 4GB?that I got a lil before Thanksgiving... I recently sent it to Creative so they could send me a new one because of the same problem...Mine would started blinking while it was hooked up to the computer, shut off as I was watching a video, then it would not charge, would not connect to the computer and would not come on... I created a RMA and sent it back to them and now I have to wait for them to send me a new one...

If it's still within warranty then you won't pay anything (except maybe for shipping, depends on where you bought it from and where you'll send it to, I for instance would pay nothing as the retailer will take on the responsibility of taking it to and from the local Creative service)...
With that said, the cover over the power switch can be removed very easily, just put the switch to the lock position, use a small flat screwdriver and GENTLY put it between the switch and the cover, then again GENTLY pry it open.
Then examine the switch carefully to make sure that there's no dirt or anything else that would cause it not to work.
Do bear in mind that although at this step you technically don't open the player (and thus you don't void your warranty) if you use a thick screwdriver or excess force you may damage the plastic parts and that won't look good if you take it to the service... you know what I mean?

Microphoto wont turn on, freezes at start

My Microphoto is freezing up when it gets to the creative logo on the screen. I have to remove the battery to shut it off and it wont come on all the way. I have tried to run the recovery tool and to add the firmware, but my PC does not even recognize the player as connected. Do I need to reformat the player? What else can I try?

Hi,
Try putting the player in it's recovery mode and run cleanup. If this does not help, try format. You might also want to contact support should the issue persists.
