Zen Touch: Product Im

I know this will seem trvial but it seems odd to me - the picture of the Touch on the Creative product page is not using (although I know most likely superimposed) a different firmware to what it does use (looks like might be Xtra because has EAX) - atleast don't fool people inot thinking it has EAXsupport with the pic!

Since the Touch was supposed to be a "stripped down" MP3 player (which apparently they also stripped a lot of function out as well), it could be that they originally wanted it to have the Xtra's OS system on it. Don't know why thy wouldn't... i would like to see the JB/2/3 4.X firmware ported to the thing. It was wonderful.

  • A post, Zen Touch Owners might consider and an Open Letter to Creative. L

Creative needs to take some COORPERATE PRIDE as regards one of their products, that until recently was the FLAG SHIP<SPAN> of their hard-dri've based line of D.A.P. s,
By using the Napster-To-Go Subscription Service, I spent the better part of last weekend loading up my Touch 40 GB player with reams of music.<SPAN> At about the 9 GB point on the hard dri've, the seek head would no longer write to the platters and after a time out, stopped with a subsequent TRANSFER ERROR coming up.
    Bummer.
    OK.
I phoned Creative, got an RMA number and shipped it off for a hard-dri've replacement at the least, a totally new unit sent promptly back at the best.
Being bummed out that I probably wouldn?t see a new TOUCH 40 GB returned to me for the most part of two weeks to a month (by some of the reports via this thread), and being that I wanted a FLASH DRIVE so I could use a D.A.P. in places where intelligence dictated that a hard-dri've based player is going to experience hard-dri've shock/abuse (like being on your bicycle, jogging, cross-country skiing, etc?.all forms of outdoor activity) so?being that I did not now have my TOUCH to listen to (I am a music-aholic) I went out on Saturday and purchased an IRIVER T0 GB flash player.
Being this is a Creative board, I won?t go into a RAVE on how good and feature packed this D.A.P. is.<SPAN> Just suffice to say that if you would like a D.A.P. for when being acti've, or as a back-up to the TOUCH 40/20, THIS IS THE PLAYER TO CONSIDER.
Now, amongst features heaped upon features this player has, never mind the FANTASTIC sonic output it puts out in sound fidelity and reams of non-distorted volume (I use a set of BOSE TRI-PORTS that need a setting of 8 on the Zen Touch, but with the Iri'ver T0, I am right now (as I type) listening to Gloria Estefan?s CONGA at a volume setting of 2 out of a possible 30!!!!<SPAN> It is just that good!
Now, what is this post doing on a Creative Forum board?<SPAN>
The answer lays in the next few sentences/thoughts?.
Amongst 2 EQUALIZATION presets, that ALL so differently shape the sound wave (they again, are THAT good, including SRS (WOW) is a CUSTOM EQUALIZATION pad that covers the following frequency ranges:
    50K /200K/ K/ 3K/ 4K/ (adjustable from ?0/+0
It was in using this EQUALIZATION PAD, that is was so totally demonstrated to myself how truly abused we are as Creative Ltd.<SPAN> Customers having all of us, purchased a Zen Touch D.A.P. from this company.<SPAN> I paid $300.00 dollars for my Zen Touch 40 GB and it was deli'vered to me straight out of the package with a DEFECTIVE<SPAN> Custom Equalization feature, that is made defecti've by inferiorly produced Creative code in their Zen Touch Firmware, the very ?heart? of the product, driving and deli'vering all the features(?) on the Zen TOUCH 20/40 GB.
It is one thing to release defecti've code, if the defect was not caught by (hopefully) Creative upon the launch of the product, but with ENOUGH paying customers having made this defect well known and so WELL DOCUMENTED back to Creative Ltd. and in the many MONTHS since the defect was found in the FIRMWARE that dri'ves the TOUCH, and yet, and UNBELIEVABLY so, the defect yet remains (if in fact now even more profound!) in their latest version of the Zen TOUCH firmware!!!
Ladies and Gentlemen, who are now reading this post, ------by having had the extreme PLEASURE in owning a D.A.P. (newly acquired Iri'ver T0) with all features advertised upon the package ***WORKING***, right out of that package, let alone with such amazing performance deli'very, I now declare that I will wait a reasonable (not months any more, BUT ONLY A FEW WEEKS FROM THIS POST DATE) <SPAN> period of time to elapse before I see a FIRMWARE release and/or patch from this company, Creative Ltd., to ***FINALLY*** address this broken Custom Equalization feature ?offered? within the Zen Touch firmware.
Now in having custom set the ranges of frequencies in the Iri'ver T0 to JUST how I like my music----I have to tell you Folks----IT DOES make a TREMENDOUS difference to the sound and your PERSONAL expectations of it!
A Custom Equalization feature is THAT important to have on a sonic device, let alone a fully WORKING ONE, bug free!
    To Creative:----a personal comment:
<SPAN> I have been a loyal customer of yours from the mid 90?s by having purchased EXCLUSIVELY from you, my sound cards, as well as your line of VIDEO CARDS.<SPAN> I have been a most faithful repeat customer having never seen to date your company so delaying/ignoring the defecti've broken issues from one of your FLAG SHIP sonic products.
I spent<SPAN> $79.00<SPAN> (far below the asking price of your Zen Touch product line)<SPAN> last Saturday on an Iri'ver T0 GB flash player that (with obvious pride of manufacture from Iri'ver Ltd.) works as advertised, works with the present FIRMWARE installed in the device at the TIME OF PURCHASE and PRODUCT RELEASE, and has earned my respect in putting out such a feature-rich product and with obviously, such Cooperate Pride.
Creative Ltd, if you do not put human resources immediately on releasing a patch that brings the Zen Touch FIRMWARE to a bug-free condition that it should have been when having been released with the product launch, I will consider no longer you as the stalwart CREATIVE company of old, that once DID HAVE SUCH COOPERATE PRIDE in any and all models of hardware they produced or sent out with their name upon it.
I will no longer purchase from your company, fearing that as I hold the product in my hands at the store, the features that I am there to purchase will NOT be deli'vered ?out of the box? due to inferior workmanship in materials, in SOFTWARE CODING, and a lack of Quality Control that dictates nothing leaves the plant until the Chief Technology Officer and his staff can sign off on that product?s quality and being fit for release to the Consumer and potential Customer.
I hope that the Moderator of this forum sends this post to whomever it will have cause to see the crippled firmware inside the Touch finally be brought up to quality standards that was the mandate of the Creative Ltd. of past years.
If this post has to reach the desk of the C.E.O of CREATIVE Ltd., then let it be sent there!
Creative Ltd, you are losing Customers hand-over-fist that won?t bother to sit down and type out/compose this letter/post, but will merely resolve to NEVER AGAIN look at, let alone buy one of your present, or future products.<SPAN> Nobody likes to have a ?broken and crippled? product---RIGHT OUT OF THE PACKAGE!<SPAN> Nobody should have to experience that when hard-earned money is being exchanged for it!

I wrote the following e-mail to Creative Support today. If they can't respond to a polite, reasoned e-mail like this then I will never buy another Creative product again!
I will post again when Creative respond to me, with a bit (well, more than a bit, more like a billion tonnes) of luck they will be able to say whether they even PLAN to fix the Custom EQ problem.
    All the best, everyone.
    <E-mail>
    Dear Support,
I recently (0-Nov-05) purchased a Creative Zen Touch 40GB mp3 player, and I am generally very happy with it. The battery life is great, and I was happy with the quality of design and build compared to the (relati'vely) affordable purchase price.
However, my query/complaint concerns the new firmware release for the Zen Touch, version 2.0.05 (MTP support for Zen Touch). I have uploaded the new firmware to my Zen Touch (and also the relevant updates for the Creative software: Media Organiser, Zen Touch Explorer etc), and have experienced no problems in loading this new firmware to my player or my computer.
Generally, I have no problems with the performance of the new firmware: my files transfer easily and quickly between my mp3 player and my computer, and (using Windows XP SP2, and WMPv0) I have experience no compatibility issues, as one would hope.
However, I do take issue with the Custom EQ bug that the new firmware accentuates on the Zen Touch. I am sure that Support has doubtless been contacted by other people regarding this problem, but to summarise, with version 2.0.05 of the firmware installed, usage of the Custom EQ function on the Zen Touch severely impaires the volume of the player, and consequently the enjoyment of myself, the customer.
I would like to ask Support whether Creative plans a 'fix' firmware update to eliminate this bug in the firmware in the near future? I am not concerned with any new features to the player with a future firware 'fix' release (although they would not be unwelcome!), since Creative did not promise any such features in the first place. However, I feel that since Creative advertised the Zen Touch as having a customisable graphic equaliser - from Creative's own press release: "Supporting both WMA and MP3 formats, the Zen Touch deli'vers crystal-clear audio, thanks to a signal to noise ratio of 98dB, which can be customised using the built-in, four-band graphic equalizer with eight equalization presets." - a firmware update should not render an advertised feature of the product effecti'vely useless.
Please could Support acknowledge the disappointment I feel with this fairly fundamental flaw to an official product upgrade, and provide assurances (or take measures to seek assurances from whoever makes decisions upon such issues) that a firmware 'fix' update will be released in the near future?
I end by saying that I have only ever bought Creative mp3 players, and to date I have been happy with the products I have purchased, but if basic product flaws such as the Custom EQ being 'broken' by official firmware updates are allowed to go unaddressed (especially with the fact that this has doubtless come to Creative's attention through Support/the official discussion forums etc) then Creative may lose customers like myself in the future to rival companies.
Thanks for your time, and I await your reply.
    Kind regards,
    Lawrie Ward

  • DO NOT BUY CREATIVE ZEN TOUCH 2

I cannot begin to explain the problems I have had with the Zen Touch that I bought 2 Weeks ago. The long and short of it is the original device that I bought, I could not transfer songs to it. Dowmloading the latest Firmware / Drivers / Application etc made no difference whatsoever. Problems ranging from errors like 'Device is busy or not attached', to copying songs across and them showing on Creative Media Organiser but not showing on the device itself. Also problems with the device freezing and having to wait for the battery to run out before it would work again. After lengthy phone calls to someone on support who could neither speak or understand english, I arranged for another one to be sent to me, in return for the faulty one. And guess what, the new one has exactly the same faults as the original. I have uninstalled the software on numerous occasions thinking that it may be a faulty install. Set it all up on my machine at work, and my friends machine at work, only for the same problems to occur when transferring songs. To top it all, I sent 3 messages to the support link on the creative web site, only to have a response to, yep you guessed it, NONE of them in FOUR DAYS. My advice to anyone who is thinking of buying a Zen Touch, or any other Creative Labs product come to think of it is, is to go out in the back garden and set fire to the money instead. Just incase anyone thinks I am doing something wrong, I work for a software company, and I know that if we sent a product / gave a support service that was as poor as that I have received, I would be out of a job in 5 minutes. I am Going to get my money back and go for an iPod, telling everyone I know to steer well clear of creative. Thanks for listening.

"If the mailer I received from Cambridge Soundworks yesterday (a Creative complany) is any indication, buying a 20GB Zen Touch or even Sleek would be a bad move. It looks like the Sleek is already being relegated to the status of "**bleep** stepchild" in the Zen line-up, which is where Touch has been for a while. The latest ad from Cambridge Soundworks was pushing the Micros, Nanos, Muvos and even Neeons. But no Sleeks."
You comments don't make much sense. The Sleek is a new model and is probably backordered by many dealers. That is probably why Creative is not promoting it heavily on its own. Demand from Creative's retailers is probably more than enough to consume the production for a while.
"But that's not what's interesting. It's what product <B>was</B> prominently featured: The Zen 20GB. This is the player that looks like a fat Zen Micro in a black case, previously available only in Asia. "
That does seem to make sense though, since Creative probably didn't make enough of them for a full retail store roll out in the US, so they probably decided that that selling them directly would be a good move. National retailers like Walmart, Best Buy, Staples, Office Depot, etc. want products to be available in huge quantities otherwise they don't want to sell them.

  • Is your Zen Touch froz

Does it hang at the "Zen Touch" screen? Is it not accesible whatsoever?Okay here's the thing. A lot of people are having this problem, even I had it. So this is what you need to do:
First off, try running a cleanup of your Zen. To run the cleanup you will need toget into Rescue (AKA Recovery) mode.. Turn off your Zen player.2. Hold down the Play/Pause button and insert a paper clip into the Reset hole on the Jukebox Zen.3. Remove the paper clip from the Reset hole and then release the Play/Pause button after the recovery mode has started.4. The Jukebox Zen will enter the Recovery Mode and the following options will be displayed:a. Clean Up (Performs a disk scan on the players harddisk)b. Format All (Formats the players harddisk - Note: all contents will be lost)c. Reload OS (Reloads the Operating System on the Jukebox - Note: Reloading your OS, will not effect the contents of the files stored on your Jukebox Zen)d. Reboot (Reboots the device)
That's that. It's that simple. The other thing you can do.. is Percussi've Maintenance. Meaning.... Hold the Zen Touch in one hand (back facing you)2. Use the other hand to give it a nice firm whack on the back.3. Restart player using paperclip4. Wait5. It should work now!If you don't believe me.. than go hereNow if that <EM>still</EM> doesn't work. Than contact Tech Support, and if you email them, they will email you back something like this:

    That's it, and good luck.

Just to add something creative replaced my touch a few weeks ago and it was chipped by the ac adapter. When I say chipped I mean like a noticeable piece was missing so people shouldn't think scratches and other accidents means you'll have to pay for repairs automatically. In case anyone is wondering i keep my zen in my pocket and stuff in there scratches it up but the chip was I accidently dropped it on some dirt.

  • CREATIVE ZEN TOUCH - CUSTOMER SERVICE WONT H

CREATIVE, i will never ever buy another product from you again and will encourage all others not to buy from you because of your poor customer service. My problem is not with the product as such, i own a Creative Zen Touch and until about?6 weeks ago everything was going fine, when i formatted my harddri've. It was then i relised i had misplaced my Zen Touch software CD, so as you'd expect the first place to look would be this website.. off i go looking around the store and customer support, i even sent an email.. to be fair i did receive an automated response about tunring off the Zen and trying again (useless when i need a software cd howevere), so i waited a while (a week) to see if they'd reply - which they didn't. So, i then sent another which ended with the same result., and then again with the same results. Just now i finally called customer support (paying intl call-rates) and all i got was an automated response telling me to log onto the customer-support page on the website. ARGHH!!?Basically if anyone, ANYONE can please please tell me where i can get the Creative Zen Touch software CD it would very very very very very appreciated as i go on holiday in two weeks and i don't really want to fork out more cash on an I-Pod or I-Pod alternati've (never again will i buy Creative). Angry-customerMessage Edited by angry-customer on 03-29-20060:46 PM

    Clearly, this is not true.
Despite seeing everywhere that "firmware available via USB from creative.com" the Creative Sleek Photo has no firmware that is available online anywhere and when you ask, everyone from customer support talks to you as if you have 5 heads for even suggesting that it should be available like anything else is.
This IS ridiculous and I too, have no more interest in Creative products despite purchasing my last 2 MP3 players from this brand, I'm done with this mess. It's frustrating beyond belief that a simple fix turns into a huge fiasco all because the company has no real rhyme or reason for failing to offer any support for a product, instead forcing you to send said product in the mail to take weeks for something that otherwise take a few minutes.
    Truly absurd.

  • Zen touch - dection is

hi, i have a creative zen touch and i installed it on my home computer, and it's worked great. but, i have some christmas songs on my laptop that i wanted to put on it as well. so i installed it on to my laptop. when i plug it in, it recognizes it, but the creative software doesn't see it and when you actually go into the folder and click the properties of a file on it, it says that it can't open the files already on the device directly and that i'd have to copy them to another place.
is there some kind of security thing blocking my computer from making changes to the device, or am i just missing something?

I'm not quite sure I understand, the player isn't seen by the software, yet you can click on files?
For starters make sure you have the latest software as follows, assuming you're using the v.xx firmware:
. Creative Zen and Jukebox Driver Upgrade version .30.03
    2. Creative MediaSource Player/Organizer 3.30.2
    3. Creative Zen and NOMAD Jukebox plugin 2.00.9 for Creative MediaSource
Install . then connect the player to the PC. Then install 2. and 3. (the player must be connected for 2. to verify you have a Creative product).
MediaSource should allow you to transfer from the player back to the PC, unless the files are licensed.

  • Zen Touch is frozen, won't shut off, doesn't reset, e

I just bought my Zen Touch about a month ago. All has been going great until this morning when I found the screen frozen in shut-down mode. I reset it - but when it boots itself back up, none of the buttons work, I can't shut it off, etc. Basically, the entire thing is frozen! I'm really disappointed as I heard so many great things about Creative and I spent a lot of money on this product.
Can anyone help me with this? I'm not that tech-savvy and need any assistance! Thanks.

Right, first download the latest firmware from the site, or even if you have already done it, it may be corruipted.
You'll need to go into Recovery Mode. Hopefully its the same with all players:
Get a pin and put it into reset while holding the power button in the power direction and wait a few seconds. Then take the pin out, still holding the power down. After its booted up, the Recvoery mode will appear.
Now go to Reload firmware or something similar, and start the downloaded program up on the PC. When it says to do so, connect it up using USB, and select Update, even if it warns about it being the same one.
(Hopefully you won't have to format, as you do on some players before updating )
After that, it should rebuild. Then go into Recovery Mode again, and run a Disk Cleanup to check there aren't any errors on the disk.
Hopefully, all should be okay again then!
    Good luck with it

  • Zen Touch is fro

I bought my Zen Touch in Sept 05, & built up a modest 900 tracks. Two weeks ago I turned it on, it showed 'now playing' but it had frozen. I could not turn it off. Reset turned it off and back on to its frozen state. I could not access Recovery Mode. Creative suggested letting battery run down, connect to charger and at 3rd attempt I was able to access Recovery Mode. Clean Up did not work. The Organiser prog does not recognise the player when I connect it to the PC so I cannot back up my tracks. Using skip or any other button did nothing. Format All and /or Reload Firmware would lose all content.
What a dreadful state of affairs. I know there are 900 tracks in this little box but Creative has no way of accessing them. This must be the worst product I have ever bought. The Zen Touch should come with a health warning to back up everything but I don't suppose Creative want to say how such a disastrous fault might happen.

I sympathise. To be fair, you wouldn't expect there to be a dead end, no-further-help-available scenario, but the bad news is, that's what appears to be on the cards.
The symptoms you describe are pretty similar to what happened to me. Though, through a huge amount of random retrying, I did get it to restart (I have no idea why it suddenly chose to, but after 6 days, it did, so keep trying!), and I was eventually able to back up my 2000 tracks before trying to solve the problem (it was still freezing).
But when I was finally able to access the recovery mode and do a disk clean up, and then try to reload the firmware (I tried to load all the available firmwares, including the PlayForSure Firmware, which DOES wipe the disk clean), the player wouldn't respond. In fact I'm now in a worse situation, cause I now have a non-responsi've and EMPTY mp3 player (see my thread, probably above).
So, no good news on that front as nobody appears to know the right solution (but thanks to all those who have made suggestions) and I am stuck with a ?70, 4 month-old empty dead turkey. A distinct absence of useful advice from anyone at Creative too, you'll notice.
So, it's not just you, and I'm afraid there are a number of us in a similar state of disappointment.
By another Creative product? Dunno. Who's to say this is not a problem that could happen to any MP3 player? All I know is that I would definitely think twice about it next time, especially when considering the aftersales support.

  • How to get Zen Touch to work on Windows Vista without PFS (worked!)

CHow to get Zen Touch to work on Windows Vista without PFS (worked!)? ***THIS WORKED***
For all of you that want to get their music out of the Zen touch, and are stuck with Vista and .0.03 firmware (non vista recognisable), and don't want to erase everything by installing the latest firmware, here is what worked for me:
)Uninstall every piece of Touch software you got and reboot.
    2) Download the latest drivers from Creative: JB3MV2...exe, together with the latest Nomad explorer, and the latest Notmad explorer from Red Chair (a trial is enough, version 9.0.3 currently).
    3) Right click the driver, properties, go to compatibility mode, and select Windows XP SP2. Make sure your Zen is unplugged (worked for me that way). Right click the driver installer again and Run as Administrator. It hanged around 72% for me, no biggy, open your task manager and shut the installer off.
4)Before rebooting, install Notmad explorer.(I installed only the Zen touch part of it. I tried to run it right away but got a 'cannot find explorer.exe error - again, no biggy).
    5) Reboot, plug in your Zen. Again for me, Notmad didn't work. This is what worked: Without messing up anything, install Nomad Explorer by Creative on top of it all, and reboot again.
    6) After reboot, with your Zen still plugged in, right click the little Notmad icon on the right part of the taskbar and select 'Connect Jukebox Zen'. And voila, check your explorer, it should hopefully recognise the Zen Touch like windows xp would.
If you still run into trouble, just install stuff from the beggining, making sure Compatibility: WinXP SP2 and Run as Admin are used everywhere, and keep rebooting till it hopefully works.
Best of luck. edit: Using Winamp to transfer files worked as well.

    Hi D2xS-Shooter,
I am afraid Creative Cloud desktop app is not compatible with Windows Vista. If you run into problems there are very limited resources from Adobe to assist.
Creative Cloud is a collection of apps with various different tech specs

  • Zen Touch with Vi

First of all, my knowledge of PC's etc is very limited, so when answering, can you make it as easy to understand as possible ?I?have a Zen Touch and have just bought a new lap top that runs Vista and has Windows Media player installed
I have never upgraded any firmware on the player and still have the installation CD that came with the Zen when I installed it on my old XP laptop. I have also backed up all the music on the player
I have heard a few things that may or not be right, so... what problems am I likely to encounter
    1) Do I need to upgrade the firmware first?
    2) Can the firmware be upgraded on Vista, or is it best to do it on the old XP laptop before doing anything on Vista?
    3) When installing on Vista, do I use the original installation disk for the Zen, or can and do I download a different installation program for Vista and use that?
    4) Are there any other steps I need to be taking, and if so, at what point in the above list do I take those steps?
    5) If I take the above steps, am I doing them in the correct order
    6) Creative Mediasource came with the original disk and I found that it suited my needs. Will?I still be able to use it's And again,if so, can I use the one off the original disk, or do I download a new version?

The firmware will have to be updated to the "Plays For Sure" firmwareversion#2..0 done on the Xp machine. The first thing is to check that you have Windows Media Player 0(not WMP) on the XP lap top WITH NO WMP components as in the Windows Media Player runtime. Link for firmware http://support.creative.com/Products...me=MP3+Players Link to remove? http://forums.creative.com/creativel...hread.id=66060? WMP & components (if need be). Hi.
I have been looking at the Zen touch for a wile now and am thinking of buying the 40GB model when it comes out.
Today I went to Best Buy and Circuit City to look and test it out, but was disappointed to see that they don?t carry it yet? can anyone else think of somewhere to buy one that will have it out on the self with music loaded on it so I can test it's?
    Thanks in advance!!

GunsNRoses, I have looked at the I-ri'ver H340 and its VARRY nice. I would go for it right away.
But the thing that bugs me is they took out most of the functions from the American version (some of the missing functions are: USB host to take pictures from digital cameras, UMM, there?s more but I cant think :P ) also they take most of the accessories out. They did this to make the player cost less and to be a better competitor with the I-pod.
On the other hand (for a bit more $$$) they do have an international version (AKA World version) that has all the functions and just about all the accessories. So if I get one I will get the international one.
But today I emailed their tech support to see what would happen if I sent the international one into the American repair center. They replied that if I sent the international one and it needed to be replaced they would only be able to replace it with an American one. So I am looking into being able to get the warrantee out of US.
The H340 is a .8? hard dri've so its a bit more shock proof which is nice.
The sound quality is vary good but I did not get to compare it to the touch.
They did not have any pictures loaded on it so I did not get to see that side of the player.
I also like that I-ri'ver based the hard dri've format on the FAT format, making the hard dri've plug and play compatible, although this makes the player have a bit longer start up time (the longest time I have head is 40 seconds.)
The interface is a bit hard to use if you don?t know how to, but once you get used to it it'ss EZ.
To be able to record from anything is vary nice.
Having the color screen is cool to.
I have heard rumors about the player having the ability to save song lyrics and allow the user to access them when listening to music, I would find this really good, I don?t know if it will do this.
I have spent a little time on the I-ri'ver forms to see what people say about it. From what I have seen on the I-ri'ver forms most of what people that have a H340 are asking for new firmware and not so much talking about hardware problems.
The I ri'ver is more expensi've than the touch but it has more functions and comes with more accessories.
Here?s a link to a site that sells the H340 if you wont to look into it more. They have some good info on it. : http://www.teamdigital.net/store/customer/product.php?productid=402&cat=203&page=
Another thing about the international player is that it comes with a different wall outlet cable than we use in the US. But I do believe that the USB cradle charges the battery. And you can always go get a power adapter.
    On the Zen touch.
I do like the other Zen models and a touch pad sounds nice. But I need to see it.
I do not like that creative removed EAX from the player?s firmware and hope that creative will add that back with an update.
It is nice to see that creative brought back the LCD wired remote with FM receiver.
From the looks of the case creative supplies with the touch it looks good. Although others have said that its design faulty I think it will work fine.
The touch is not plug and play, which can be annoying but it makes the player start up faster.
The touch is also a .8? hard dri've, which is a bit more shock resistant than the 2,5?(other Zen models.)
I don?t know much more on the touch, but I hope I do soon.
I am still at a loss as which player I will buy, they both look so good. I hope when I can finally see them next to each other and test them I will know.
The I ri'ver is more expensi've than the touch but it has more functions and comes with more accessories.
If you have any questions post them and we can talk about it.

  • Is it best to run my zen touch off of an alternate power sour

Hey I was wondering if using an alternate power source such as a car adapter would increase my zen touch's battery life. It kind of seems like it would but i don't know for sure.
    Thanks!

Leaving it alone as such doesn't shorten it's lifetime, it's more that the battery has a finite lifetime. BatteryUni'versity.com basically suggests that the tick is clocking once it rolls off the production line, so stockpiling this is pointless. It also implies being wary about what battery you buy 3+ years after you've had your player.

  • Zen Touch Krusell Case [Imag

I just received the Zen Touch Krusell Case today, and must say that I finally have a true case for my MP3 Player.
Anyways you can find the detail and product pictures on Krusell's website: www.krusell.se
However I took some of my owm pictures to clarify the cases design.

As you can see the front leather case is very sleek and does a good job of protection.

The player sits in plastic film, and there is a cutout for the touch pad, and the OK button.

The side is open for the volume and power buttons.

Krusell uses the Multi-Adapt system meaning you can use different clips depending on your use.

I got the Slide Swi'vel Kit because you can keep the clip on your belt and still remove the case.
Overall it seems like a decent case and I guess I am juts happy that I can use my player while it is in the case.Message Edited by Coolrulez on 08-23-2005 06:57 AM

The clip system allows me to finally mount my Creative player in my car in a clean easily clicked in and out fashion

  • Is Belkin TuneDok Zen Touch compatible with MICRO Z

    TUNEDOK ZEN TOUCH
    Is compatible with MICRO ZEN?
Any product similiar compatible with Micro Zen?
(((thnxs, sorry by my english, i'm spanish)))

I'm guessing the size of the player is pretty critical, hence it's not suitable. I'm not aware of anything similar for the Micro, but I guess it's possible there is something.

My question is: Is there any power adapter that can fit the zen touch? Can i just buy it at wal-mart? Or is there another product that has the same tip as the zen touch?
    Thanks
