Zen Vision M LCD Screen I

Hello,
I am looking for any information on the LCD screen in the Zen Vision M. Manufacturer and model would be especially helpful.
Thanks,
Josh

I am guessing you can find most of that online (as in google and ask) but if not im sorry! All I know is its plastic and not real glass, scratches really easily and it really delicate!
First off, I have not been able to find this information on Google or anywhere else. If you can find it, I would be very grateful to you and somewhat amazed.
Second, the LCD screen is actually an LCD screen, not plastic. The plastic you speak of is the protector that is built into the casing of the ZVM.

  • Zen Vision M - cases & screen protecto

I have a black ZVM arriving soon via Amazon and am hearing that a case and screen protector are absolutely essential accessories to avoid heartbreaking scratches. I can't seem to find any good threads on this, so I thought it'd be great if we could get our collecti've minds (& Google searches) together and post up good finds.
I'm thinking I'll get the Creative-branded carry case, but all they have right now are brown and white, and I need black...

I went to www.boxwave.com. They have pretty neat cases but not for vision:m. They ask you to post your request and they'll develop the product. I guess the more people go there, the sooner we'll have good products because, boy! I've been surfing the web for a case and found nothing! "Creative" people, you should have thought about that when you marketed Vision:m!
I don't have the ZVM yet, but I went ahead and requested the leather case for it. Like you said, if more people request something, they might speed up the development.

  • How do i connect an ipod lcd screen to a zen visio

My zen vision m lcd screen recently cracked and after getting the full run around and reading up on the net, I bought a 2.5" lcd ipod replacement screen for $0 off of ebay. I really don't watch much movies so the quality doesn't really matter as long as I can see my music and audiobooks. So here is the problem:
They both have 32 pin connectors that attach to the 32 contact ribbon connector, but the ipod ribbon is about half the size of the zen's.
I would like to connect the new screen and have a couple of options.
. connect the ipod screen ribbon to the zen's ribbon, then connect to the player.
    2. somehow solder the ipod connector to the motherboard directly
    3. solder the ipod connector to the casing on the motherboard
    Problems:
. I don't even know if the connectors go to the same places, therefore don't know if it will work even if I do figure out how to do so.
    2. I have no idea how to go about soldering ribbon connectors because the wires are so close together.
    3. Any solder job that I could do would probably preclude me from putting everything back into the player.
If anybody has any ideas (other than buy a new one or pay the ridiculous $20 to fix it) your help is much appreciated and will probably help a whole mess of people.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Zen Vision M "Rebuilding&qu

Recently when i turned my Creative Zen Vision M, the screen showed the display message rebuilding with a time bar beneath it!? This time bar gets stuck everytime at around the 30% mark and nothing further happens. It is not possible to access any functions neither is it posible to turn the player off.Has anyone experienced this fault or have any information as to how to rectify it.Cheers all.Danny

Try using a paperclip and hit the reset button on the bottom of the player. it may rebuild again after that but shouldn't get stuck. i had this problem before and it was the result of a dead usb port. Hope this hel
    ps.

  • Zen Vision LCD screen

I bought a Zen Vision some time ago (not M or W, but the standard one), and unfortunately the LCD screen not being reinforced with any additional layers of glass, it cracked pretty quickly. After pretty much 2 weeks of use. Creative support insisted that it was my fault, and I did not get a refund nor a new player.
My question is: is there any way or chance that I can obtain (buy?) a new LCD screen for this particular Zen Vision, from Creative or other sources? Thanks in advance.

Search Ebay for "Zen Vision" . I came accross this one cheap.

  • Creative Zen Vision: M, Firmware 1.40.02 and screen backlight not blank

Is there a bug in the .40.02 firmware?
I just bought a Creative Zen Vision: M yesterday.
I noticed that with the out of the box firmware (.30.02), the LCD screen backlight would turn off to conserve battery power.
Later in the day, I upgraded to the .40.02 firmware posted May 24, 2006. Now my LCD screen backlight stays lit all the time.
Since the player is so new, I wonder if I'm imagining things.
Can someone with .30.02 or earlier firmware confirm that their screen backlight turns off after some period of time turning the screen dark?
Can someone reproduce the problem with the .40.02 firmware that the screen backlight stays lit, no matter how long since the last button press?
If I'm not imagining things, this would seem to dramatically affect the playtime on a full charge.
    Thanks.

    This is INDEED a problem.
The screen is? SUPPOSED to blank all by itself , NOT only with the lock button engaged. I have this exact problem and returned one player only to see the same thing with the next. I also have the .40.02 firmware !!! Creative support said to upgrade my firmware to .6.xx? and see what happens. If the screen doesn't blank by itself without the lock button,? they are sending me another player !

  • Zen Vision M Screen Problem

As of a few days ago, my Zen Vision M has had these horiztonal white lines on the screen, and they run through everything (movies, music, wallpaper, etc.). They obviously aren't part of my wallpaper, and changing the wallpaper or reformatting the ZVM doesn't work. Does anyone have any advice on how to fix this, and assuming I would have to send it in, would my extended warranty cover the problem?

Try updating the firmware, but if that doesn't help I'd recommend getting in touch with Customer Support.

  • Zen vision M 30GB blank white screen

I have scanned the forum for a smiliar problem but I need more help.
My Zen vision M, 30GB player is a 2004 model, my Operating system is Windows Vista, 32-bit. I'm not sure what firmware I have on my player. As of last week, I have only a blank white screen; I have backed up all my contents and dowloaded the recovery tool with no result.
After contacting Customer service, they sent me to the forum to look for help or buy a new unit...just want to make sure there is no other recourse I can pursue.

A white screen can not be repaired it must be replaced. It is a hardware issue not software. You can do it yourself. Purchase another screen & replace it. I have done this many times. • Zen vision:M Need new outfit. Screen dam

Well i use my Zen vision:M every day. and that protecting thing slip off.. So now the vision in videos is pretty bad.. because screen damage.. can i Buy new outfit to my Zen some where?!
    ps: Sorry, Bad english..

    Valu,
When you say screen damage, do you mean that the screen is scratched?
If you are looking for screen protection, there's one in the online store.

  • Zen Vision: M Screen replacem

    Just a FYI.
If your screen cracks due to ANYTHING whatsoever, it's $22 down the tubes.
Plus the cost of you shipping the player to them.
This happened to me, it can happen to you.
Thank you, who/whatever broke my screen (my guess is that I sat down, and the player in my left front pocket bumped into the armrest). That's the last time I put a pocket sized appliance in my pocket without special protection.
This would have been avoided if there was a hard plastic case for the thing.

I recommend using OEM battery made by Creative. • Zen vision LCD crack after

I refer to RMA reference number SHQ-Y-37374,i went to creative HQ SG to repair a bass problem in my earphones today, i went back collecting the player on the same day with the problem solved. While on my way back, watching a movie on my zen vision i found a pixel
    size crack
on the LCD which cant go away, the LCD was flawless prior the RMA. Being a regular customer of creative with myself owning 2 zen vision 30gb, megaworks550w, zen V, zen microphoto, and a XFI fatality,i have a very good experience with creative, however i am very upset how the backend staff handle my rma equipment and hope that something could be done about this.

  • Zen Xtra LCD screen died (cannot read lette

I don't know what's wrong with it.. I can't see any letters on the LCD screen. The backlight works fine, it seems like it's some sort of contrast problem. Is there anyway to reset the contrast/brightness or whatever, or am I just gonna have to throw this thing away? Thanks.Message Edited by Sideslip on 0-3-2005 06:7 AM

I have the same problem with my Zen Xtra 60gb player. This has been happening for some time, but I don't want to send the player and have to wait several weeks for repair. Usually, I am able to reset the player with the power adpater plugged in and the display is fine for awhile. It seems to happen frequently when the player has charged for over 4 hours. I really wonder if it is a firmware 'bug' and so I'm waiting for the next update before sending it in to Creative.

  • I broke my Screen on my Zen Vision:M Where do i send it to get fix

?I bought my creative Zen Vision M from "Future Shop" in Victoria and?I dont know how it happend I just want it fixed. They said it could be fixed, so they sent it away but apparently it can't be fixed. I know the warrenty dosent cover it I dont care I just want it Fixed, where can?I send it to have the screen replaced? Other than the screen this thing is awsomeMessage Edited by thedaver2 on 03-06-200707:54 PM

The warranty won't cover it if you broke it, but sometimes tech support let things slide if you're really nice to them.Other than that.....buy a new one. Thats what I did. If you did find someone who could fix it, they'll probably charge you just as much as a new one.

  • Any way of turning the Zen Vision:M screen backlight off

I've just bought a Zen Vision:m, which is fantastic apart from one thing. The backlight for the main screen doesn't turn off after a few seconds, only the lights behind the buttons do. You can reduce the brightness of the screen, but that's about all.
I just wondered if there's a way to get it to turn off after a few seconds, or if there's an option that I've missed somewhere?

Once the player is playing slide the power switch to lock position and the display turns off.
