Zip file download

Hi,
I want perform two tasks. One is displaying the page content and then to prompt the user tow save /download the zip file.
I used the below code.

Sequence of flow is, once the user submits the form, thanks content needs to be displayed along with user needs to be propted to downlod / save the zip file. It was functioning perfectly earliest but now it neve opens up. Window opens but no action there after. Can any one suggest how we can over come this issue.

If you link to a Zip file, just as you would to any other
file, it will
download.
And by the way, DW has no provision for special file
downloads. You would
have to add that coding yourself.

Website image and zip file download links not working in Dreamweaver Air application

Hi
I have successfully created and AIR app for an existing business website using the Dreamweaver AIR Extension. The site works very well in all respects except for the part where we have high resolution images and zip files available for download. The download links refuse to do anything, and right-click (PC) / ctl-click (Mac) does nto work either.
I suspect this may be an AIR sandbox/security issue but am I correct and what can I do to fix it?

If i use IE or FF ,the browser will open a small window to allow me select whether open or save the file.So can anybody give me some advice.Is it because air using webkit engine and the engine does not do this kind of job?

Problem with ZIP file download

I try to download a ZIP file from some URL. Everything goes fine, but I never get the entire content of the file (1.79 MB size).
Here a code snipet:

I think the real problem is that you don't check the return value from read (it's probably less than data.length indicating an incomplete read). Isn't there a readFully somewhere?

Zip File Download frustrations

hi there.
So, I am having some problems with some files. I'm downloading addons for an MMORPG but most of them are .zip files which is giving me a problem--they'll go to my download menu and get to a point before stopping and saying "cannot create file". I've searched other areas of the forum but haven't found out how to download and unzip (if necessary) the files.
Any help would be greatly apprecaite. Thanks!

Actually, it sounds to me like you aren't having a problem opening files you have downloaded, rather it sounds like you aren't able to download things to start with due to a permissions error of some sort at the download location.
Try this:
1. Create a new folder in your home folder and name it Downloads
2. If you are using Safari, go to Safari's Preferences, click the General tab, and in about the middle you'll see "Save downloaded files to:"
3. Click the double arrows select "Other" and then navigate to your new Downloads folder and select it
4. Try downloading something again and see if it is successful
If you don't get any errors, go to your new Downloads folder and double click the downloaded item. A zip file should unzip, a .dmg file (btw, it is dmg which means "disk image") should mount like any other disk, and you can run installers or drag and drop the contents to where you want them.

Hello,
if you just want to verify if the ZIP-files are not damaged, just use the test-option of the used program to extract the iso-files from the ZIP-archive. But if they are damaged it's impossible to extract them anyway.
If you are asking for a way to check if the contents has been tampered, sorry I'm not aware of any for this particular situation.

ZIP file download throws java.lang.IllegalStateException: Response already

To implement it I used af:fileDownloadActionListener. I need to submit the form before going to process the zip. For that I have added to af:commandLinks.
The following commandlink will process the download:

          The reason for this exception is when you are trying to write something on the
          response stream
          which was already closed (commit) . This may happen when u write something in
          the response stream after doing a redirect/forward. OR if u r trying to redirect/forward
          more than once. bcs once u redirect/forward your response object will be flushed
          and commited..

I'm running Firefox 7.0.1 and since the September 30 security update I can no longer unzip zipped files unless I reboot my computer first or run it in Safe Mode. Can anyone help me roll Firefox back to before the update?

I regularly download zipped files from Survey Monkey. Since the latest security update, the zipped files download to my computer, but when I try and unzip them I get a message telling me the file is in use by another application. If I reboot, I can unzip the file, or if I'm in Safe Mode when I download the file it unzips fine.
I have tried three different unzip apps and all have the same trouble. Everything was working well after the September 5 update.
I'm running Windows XP with McAfee antivirus, Spybot, Ad-Aware and Malbytes Anti-malware. All are up to date.

There you'll find each of the incremental updates to Acrobat 10.
They must be installed one at a time in sequence.

Now, if after attempted updates fail then you'll need to speak with your IT Department.

Error opening .zip files in EP

hello to all, my problem is the following one:
I have an url iview, this one points at a flash file witch opens a .zip file. When I preview the iview I'm able to download the .zip file without problems BUT when I assign this role to my user, the .zip file download popup doesn't open (it appears and sudenly dissapears).
Any idea?

Check if it is browser popup problem (You will get one popup bar blocked). If not, check the logs for any useful hint.

Can't install executable files downloaded in Firefox

I just got a new computer with Windows 7 (32 bit) and downloaded the most recent version of Firefox. I downloaded a couple of free applications to install (an FTP client and a printer driver). When I try to run the executable file, I get an error that says "Program to big to fit in memory". I have 4 gb of ram on this machine, so I am not sure that this error is representative of what is happening. Interestingly though, if I download the exact file in IE, the executable launches and installs without any problems. Any ideas as to what to do and why this is happening?

I want to update what I originally wrote. We have now been able to isolate the problem to .exe or .zip files downloaded through Firefox onto the network server (which is 64 bit). If I download the file to my desktop (32 bit), I can launch the files. Since I work in a small office, I typically download a file to the server so that it can be installed on all of the workstations. This now doesn't work. But, if I download the same file through IE to the network server, the program launches fine.

After downloading zip file, could not extract files on windows XP by using any tool or built-in extractor i.e. compressed(zipped)folders (error: compressed folder invalid or corrupted).
But this works on win2k or win98
How can i work with it or can anyone tell me a solution to handle such a problem.

This could be a problem with the built-in ZIP program in Win XP - it's possible that the ZIP you are downloading (uploading?) is simply incompatible with the XP program. In Win 98 & 2000, you would have to use your own ZIP program, e.g. Winzip, and that can handle more formats that the XP program.
Try installing the same ZIP program that you have on w98/2k on your XP machine, and see if you can open the uploaded file using it.

Firefox won't download a zip file

There is a chat board that I belong to and they posted a zip file. It looks like a white piece of paper with a folded over corner and says zip on it. When I put my cursor over it, it kind of blows up and then says at the bottom the file name then file.Zip 260K, but I can't click on it to get it to download, save, open, reject, nothing.
I believe I have downloaded zip files in past but for some reason can't download this one.
Can someone help please.

Are there other similar downloads on the site that do work, such as images, Word documents, etc., or are they all broken the same way?
I wasn't familiar with the ModPlugin extension. Does it operate on the site that has the problem? If so, could you test with the extension disabled? You can do that by restarting in Firefox's Safe Mode, or manually on the Add-ons page. Either:
* Ctrl+Shift+a
* orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
In the left column, click Extensions.
If that extension is not relevant to the site that has the problem, or if the problem continues after disabling it, can you provide a link to the site so someone could check it out?
